Tata's Curry House - Restaurant in Nandi, Fiji
Want authentic fijian curry, then you must stop here! Everything we ordered was amazing, and even the small portion of pumpkin that came with the roti and dahl. The pics are only half of what we ordered. Got the lamb chasa, fried fish, curry duck, curry nakai, curry chicken, tin mutton, chicken chop suey and lots of rotis. Trust me, go here!!
I have been coming to Tatas for 20+ years. Its the best local flavoured Indian food in the country. I have been begging them for 20 years to open up in Suva too... But its still remains Nadis best kept secret for the local town folk. You get incredibly delicious food, hard working and friendly staff and lots of people coming in and out. This place is iconic to the locals...and deservedly so. I swear that I have taken new 100+ people here over the last 2 decades... every single one LOVED it... thats not luck, that just consistently perfect curry!!!P.S. A little hint... before you leave, remember to buy some extra roti parcels to takeaway filled with your favourite curries... they will give you great pleasure until you quickly devour them for your next meal or two. You will be very happy you did.
One of the best places for curry in Nadi
Yummy Chinese foodTaste of desi Indian fiji Chinese
The absolute BEST Curry in Fiji.... I was so happy to see Tatas move back to near the old location.! I now plan on trying the new items on the menu...
If you want authentic spicy fijian indian dishes, than this place is a must go! Friendly service with reasonable prices that wont burn a hole in your pocket.Food is yumm & the crab curry was nothing less of perfect. Nice environment & average set up but the food itself makes up for it. Really loved how the chef came out to check if the food was to our liking which shows he puts pride & love into his dishes..
Great food ,awesome mud crab and duck curry ,amazing fiji indian food ,spicy and full of flavours
Pretty good food and pretty good service. Theres always room for improvement though!
Tasty Indian Cuisine!
Delicious. The food here was incredible. I would recommend the lamb curry with rice and a side of roti. An absolute must visit if youre staying in and around Nadi.
Indian style foodsSpecial offers available, Spicy food availableCustomer care service is not much good.Prices are affordable.
CLOSED (Jan 2022- visited on a Monday afternoon and then a Sunday afternoon.Deserted, and no update posted by them.👎🏼
The new location is much larger. Its a great breezy open verandah, now. And the curry is just as good. Thoroughly recommended.
The best restaurant in Nadi.tasty food 👌♥️
The vegetarian thali was delicious. The roti was amazing.everyone enjoyed their meals. If you are an outer towner dont be fooled be the appearance of this run down place its a definite hit with the locals and with us. Food is amazing so hi e it a try.
Fiji style Indian curry, simple, tasty and full of flavor, Tatas is a regular and must stop when passing through Nadi on the way to Suva by road. Owners are very polite and accommodating to requests not on the menu. And prices are definitely set to shame lesser, more expensive curry restaurants. An easy recommendation for tourists looking for local tastes and flavor.
Went on our visit to Fiji and I still can’t stop thinking about the chicken curry here. It was perfectly spicy and I loved the side items. Not to mention this was one of our most affordable meals while in Fiji. I wish there was a curry house like this in the US!
Good place to get curry n roti. Prices were reasonable. Service was faster than i expected. We did takeaway and enjoyed the meal except my lamb curry had way too much fat in it. Considering fat and bones. There wasnt much meat. Otherwise it was perfect. Trim fats before you cook. I still do recommend this place if you like curry roti and lentil soup.
Food is always great, but could do with an upgrade. Atleast drinking cups and eating plate. Food is super delicious...have tried meal here for the past 10years.
Tasty food, good customer service. Visited them 3 times. Loved the food
Great delicious food but need to advise on price of food before being served.
This is a no frills eating joint. You will even have to request for serviettes out here! The food is delicious and caters to authentic Fiji Indian palette. The dishes come as set platters with a bowl of curry (meat of your choosing), another bowl of Dal Soup with some salad and lots of rice or rotis. The big bowl of Chicken curry with the Dal Soup and rice is quite a steal at FJ $12.00
I operate a non-profit group of doctors that works in the Nadi area. Tatas takes care of all of our lunch needs when were on site working. Always fresh, well prepared, and they deliver to us on time...not Fiji Time! Thanks Dinesh and family. Well be back soon.
Delicious Lamb Roti! The bean soup was amazing! Friendly staff and reasonably priced!
They didnt ask us for size but gave as large and gave us rice we didnt order and tried charging us for it poor form we say
As always the curry here reminds me of my childhood growing up in Fiji. Better than any curry served in the big hotels. Always stop here whenever I come to Fiji
My wife and I went to Tatas expecting a wonderful experience. She had the small chicken curry plate and I had the small lamb curry plate. Hers was nothing but bones and skin and mine had bones and tendons with fat and a little meat that I could pick off with my fingers. What a disappointment! On top of that they tried to charge us for the large plate. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Excellent hole on the wall restaurant.. fresh and authentic food...
Very good curry and well priced at the end of town.
Beware, if you eat at this place, make sure you know what your paying for. Got charged $178 for 4 people to eat roti and curry. Not for tourists it seems
Amazing curry. Quick and good service... until the bill was being settled. Ripped customers off... charged customers with unadvertised prices, and when asked to itemise bill, rationalised the item costs.Every curry (small serve/ large serve), as advertised on board, is served with roti and Dahl. When they served our meals (four people), they charged us separately for meat/ roti/ rice...a meal that should not have exceeded $80 was quoted to be $178.00 at one point. Only after I reasoned and argued with them did they start back down on the price... to $117, then $107...In the end, I paid them $100, which was already at least $30 more than what we should have paid, for what we ate.I grew up in Suva, but have lived in Sydney for the past 19 years. From appearance, I’m a tourist. However, I don’t think anyone, regardless of their residency status, should be ripped off. I took friends and family for a good meal, had great intentions of promoting Fiji as a great place to visit, and complimented the food multiple times. When we were treated so poorly at the end, I was disappointed and angry.I will not be returning.
We ate thali. Food is simple and homely. The goat curry was tasty but boney. Very reasonably priced.
Its a hole in the wall place that is popular with locals. The food is very basic and all curries come with lentil and couple other things to make it full meal. The place is authentic, however if you don’t like too much oil in your food thay this place may not be the it. I am glad i experienced it which also involved getting to the place located in the nadi town center and away from the resort area in denaru but i wouldn’t want to go again.
Good food
Beautiful curries.Place is a little hurt on a side street but popular with the locals.
Recommend the fish curry, the roti is sensational and if you must in order of preferance lamb, then prawn with chicken at the backend. Would I go back there? You betcha!
Reasonal lunch curry for those who want to eat a little lunch...good quality at reasonable prices.
Service is not good..they dont serve you chilled water..n they olny serve u water until you ask..flies everywhere...they should really upgrade thier customer focus...hated it.
Great food. But the portions are not as described. Large looks small
Tata’s is fun and funky. The setting is authentic and cute. The food is a yummo and a cheap and stark contrast to resort life. The waitress was nice and pretty lol with her recommendations. And the locals love it. Definitely eat here!
Yes this is cheap but you get what you pay for. Fish super dry, chicken still with bones. Watery food, service very basic.
Best indian curry in Fiji
Do not pay for over priced food at the resorts. Head off down to Nadi town and get great food really cheap. They also do breakfast!Less a point for the decor.
Food was too oily. Curries were served cold. Have had better indian food at other places
Prompt service and tasty food. Several varieties of meat curry to choose from and a vegetarian option. Very filling.
The place is not very hygienic there is flys all over the place you have to watch what you have ordered if not you get a surprise bill like us so that was not fun trying to eat and trying to get the flys away from the food and there is no soap to watch your hands
A good place to get best local cuisine at a reasonable price....but needs an upgrade a spruce up..
Iconic indian restaurant offering Fiji style curries . Open kitchen and sitting area. Can be messy sometimes. However food quality is great
Decent food, rough looking place. Cant help but feel the staff short changed us as we had difficulty communicating with them.
Good local Indian Fijian food at local prices. Great roti.
