Taste of India Restaurant in Trat

We were three friends exploring koh chang.. we came across this beautiful ..hospitable restaurant.. the food was absolutely lip smacking and even got tastier by the behavior of Mr. Sheln... anyone visiting koh chang must definitely try this indian rest. 5 stars to the owner and his team.. well done sir..

Visited here on 23rd May 2022.All dishes I had were very tasty and were large portions.Staff were very polite.Food came quickly.I would eat here again and can recommend this place.

Firstly let me start by saying the reviews is in 2 partsFood then restaurantOk the food was difficult to fault - Hot and tasty and very well presented - see photosI will say I prefer my Naan bread a bit thicker and more bread like but the offering we had was pretty good to be fair. All food came together and in Thailand that is unique today to say the least so well done chef 👌Ok the restaurant- I am aware that Covid has killed off many places and you get the impression that this place is holding on by its finger tipsThe inside area is tired and does not give the Indian restaurant feel at all - no table cloths and the ambience is just not thereOutside is just what it says, an outside seating area - nothing specialThe experience got an 8/10 from our party so that’s good reallyThe owner is friendly polite and informative 👌Definitely worth a visit1 tip for the owner - invest in new menus as they are shabby and worn out !Look at the menus down the road at 15 Palms - clean and well presented 🤔

Amazing food, lovely owner, a must!!The food was very tasty, SheIn -the owner got us some Samosas to taste although we didnt order them. They tasted amazing especially with the chutney! Paneer , naan and fried rice were TOP NOTCH!. I will definitely eat there again!

A small portion of lamb vindaloo. In fact it had five little cubes of lamb in it for 280 THB. The naan was incinerated in spots, where the black garlic tasted like charcoal. The staff however, were friendly and attentive, but this was for me a below par dining experience.

Long wait no food. Though only 1 table full, they are showing off like very busy.Guys go for other restaurants...1 lady is a fighter with no motherhood thinking at all.They serve foreigners like customer but treats indians badly.Your reply is polite now mam. Why cant you be polite when we were at your restaurant footstep? If you have more takeaway orders and will take more than 1 hour means you should try to explain to your customer in a polite way isnt it? but you barged out at us 1st and started shouting?See its normal for a people to ask when the order will be ready to the restaurant person as it was untime as well as closing time for other restaurants too. We asked only thrice. That too with atleast 20mins difference each. If you have more take away foods by night you should not have taken our order at first place. Instead you blaming me?Be polite. Hire more chefs atleast for festival period. Correct your attitude and way of running business pls instead putting blame on me.

Dont expect respect and food even after ordered of 50 minutes. You may end up rude response to cancel the order. Because of their in capability to serve the food but never admit it.... Very strange restaurant...You can expect some meaningles reply. Dont hesitate to say - simply canceled the order which I have ordered food for my kid at the time of 10.00 pm.Customers in this restaurant I waited for 50 minutes for just 1 set of aloo parota and 1 chicken briyani. Owner said I have to wait 40 minutes more. When we asked for reason one lady came and started with argument itself without any respect.Didnt even say sorry to us. But only hiding your mistake by saying thanks for rating?Learn to admit and equally..

This is the second year in we have been here on holiday and ordered from Taste of India. Once more, I cannot say enough positive things about my experience. The food is absolutely delicious and they delivered to our resort. Prices are very reasonable and they really deliver the best quality food and service!!! Hats off to you, your staff and your establishment!!!

After reading all the raving reviews my expectations were to get a tasty dinner… unfortunately, it was tasteless and reminded me of a microwave meal… my aloo gobi was made of soggy cauliflower in some sort of tasteless sauce… there was no depth of flavour, no fresh coriander and no spices! Saffron rice was over cooked to the point it resembled yellow sticky rice! Naan was chewy.Never again. Sorry

The chicken tikka masala was delicious. Sadly I discovered this place 2 days before I left and they were closed the second day or I would have eaten there again. Next time for sure.

Took my parents for their first Indian food experience and we loved it. The taste was so rich and incredibly delicious. Their portions were so generous and we love to chat with the owner they’re so helpful and very friendly. We ordered Vegan and Vegetarian menus and they showed us the right way of eating them. Highly recommended! ❤️

Wonderful!! We saw the restaurant over the summer and it appeared closed due to Covid. However, this trip we saw it again and stopped by one night. I am writing this after our second visit in 3 days! The food, atmosphere, and staff are all amazing. Food is high quality and a very reasonable price. Make sure you try Taste of India when you visit!

What a treat! We didn’t think we’d find such a good Indian restaurant on this island but we’re so pleased when we tried Taste of India. A lovely family run business (the son is very sweet). You could really tell they took pride in the food they were serving and it really showed. Every dish was delicious!

A fantastic experience from start to finish. Friendly, welcoming staff. Delicious curries and a great price as well. Would recommend to anyone visiting Koh Chang. One of the very few restaurants open at the moment as well, but I can see why!

We visited twice during our trip to Koh Chang. My kids were huge fans and would have eaten there every night had we let them! Such a tasty meal, and the owner is very kind and attentive. He helped us out big time when, upon leaving, we realized our rental car wouldnt start. So glad to have found Taste of India.

Service was very good, food was quite quick and offers non-indian dishes too.I had curry with rice and bread, it was okay, not too flavoursome but not bad either. My gf had krapao which was okay for her too.Not the best Ive ever had but definitely not bad either and Id probably go back next time Im there

The best food and service in Thailand.This place is one of the reasons I came back to Koh Chang, to be honest :)Dont forget to ask for their special spicy mango sauce!

THE MASALAS ARE THE BEST!! The uncle is very friendly and when he is available he goes out of his way to make you feel at home. He gave us free cake for one of our friends birthday 👏👌

This gem of an Indian Restaurant is top notch in every way! First, I called to ask if they did delivery, which they did, even though we were staying more than half an hour away from their location and it was after dark! Second they speak English and Thai! Third, everything I ordered (Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Papadum, and Garlic Naanwas better than most restaurants in Bangkok! The naan was crispy and chewy, just the way I like it, and the chutney for the papadum was delicious and perfectly balanced where you could taste each ingredient separately and together harmoniously. I highly recommend Taste of India, Koh Chang for their food and incredibly polite staff!

Just finished eating at this restaurant. Incredible food. Everything so tasty. Chicken tikka amazing... And the best aloo gobi Ive had in Thailand. Dont let the design fool you. This place is heaven for your taste buds.

We’ve now been 4 times on two separate visits to Koh Chang. Our family all really love every menu item we tried. The owner is an extremely nice guy, his prices are fair and servings are plentiful.This ranks as top 3 Indian restaurants I’ve had in all of Thailand.We will be back again and again.

We stayed in Koh Chang for 3 days and we were very much relieved to have this Indian restaurant near White sand beach. The food quality was amazing and the owners were very kind.. they even deliver food to our resort. For people who prefer Indian cuisine this is a oasis in Koh Chang ...

Biryani was tasteless.Aloo Gobi was amazing, best we have eaten outside home, and tea was ok.Food served too late, about 1 hour or more.

Let me preface this review by saying that Indian cuisine is my absolute favorite so to say that this place is possibly the best Indian food Ive ever had in Thailand shouldnt be taken lightly. Even half our group who dont normally prefer Indian are now huge fans because of this place. 5 star food with 1 star price. The owner Shane will help you order if youre not familiar with the dishes.

Wow! The best Aloo Gobi I’ve ever had. The food is so flavourful, not oily, and carefully thought out. The owner really cares about his recipes and you can tell he puts his heart into what he does. He even remembered my boyfriend after serving him 2 years ago! A MUST-GO while in Koh Chang for all Indian food lovers.

I saw this restaurant recommended on the iamkohchang site and I am pleased to say it was a superb example of Indian cuisine. The food comes very close to quality of my mothers home cooked food. ... My husband summed up the experience very well when he said the food was lovingly cooked and was a pleasure to eat.

Very good restaurant with lot of options on the menu. Everything we ordered was tasty, and the portions were much larger than we thought. Also the waiter was very helpful to choose sides, and sabjis.

Just had the most amazing food here! Has to be my close second favourite restaurant in all of Thailand.Listen to the recommendations of the owner he really knows his stuff. We left with clean plates and big smiles!

Tasty food but on the expensive side and unfortunately it has been customised for western customers - it’s missing truly Indian spices and flavours.

The food here is excellent, the place owner is very (verynice. The girl that was with me said: "I dont want Indian food, I want a pizza!" Well, the place owner heard that (he has good Englishand he He went to a market to buy ingredients and then came back to MAKE HER PIZZA, AND DIDNT EVEN CHARGE US FOR THAT PIZZA! He is not just nice, and he is TOO nice!I most give him a big thank you for that and a 1,000 BHT tip. My food (a typical Indian foodwas DELICIOUS, I really, really liked this place, and Im totally going to recommend everyone I know that going to Thailand this restaurant.The two downside,The meals were super small, so I had to order three just for me to fulfill my hunger.And the food is very spicy, (veryand they only have water in a bottle so I had to order three bottles and that came pretty expenses.

Very good relief from Thai food if you’re looking for it, especially if you want some vegetarian options. Friendly service. Caters to tourists of course, evidenced by no apiece in the dishes (however, good chutnies and peppers as condiments). Fish curry was delicious! Also liked the raita yogurt sauce and paratha.

Very delicious VEGAN options on the menu and clearly signed!! If youre vegan this is the place to go :)

Absolutely amazing food, and very polite, caring service.Over the course of 5 days, we had lunch at Taste of India 3 times. After trying most of their starters and a portion of their curries, I found the consistency in quality to be rather impressive.May or may not end up back in Koh Chang in my lifetime, but I know where Ill be eating if I do.

5 out of 5 taste spoons to the restaurants chef for serving us the best hot & delicious Indian food that we had so far while travelling overseas. The Makhani Daal, Veggies, Samosas, Chicken, Breads and everything else served was actually better then what served in our local Indian restaurants.Extra 5 stars to the restaurateur- Mr. Ravindra, his wife & his team for their hospitality & friendly gestures!You guys completely justifies your name Taste of IndiaMust Try if you visit Koh-Chang Island- Thailand.
