Buzzy find showcasing a traditional Caribbean menu & a buffet option in an unassuming space.
Only ordered Chana & Roti skin. Other sides didnt speak to me. Lady at the counter was trying to charge me $28 until I spoke up. $15 bucks for Chana & Roti skin which was good & tasted authentic! They had Cou Cou but was not presented in an appetizing manner. It was rolled in a ball covered in cling wrap so wasnt sure it was fresh?? Private parking in the back & tables inside to dine-in. The ambiance looked authentic. Maybe, Ill try again when I return to ATL.
Had a WONDERFUL curry chicken dinner. Well prepared, succulent, tender, well seasoned, slow cooked curry chicken over rice and peas, with lentils and callaloo. My wife had a curry shrimp roti. Well seasoned, nice sized portions.
Ive been to Tassas Roti Shop fairly often for food and its been great but NEVER have them cater for any of your events. I placed a large order for an event at my home; called in advance and told them exactly what I wanted. The lady read back my order to me at the end, even charged me more than whats listed on their website as they indicated prices have changed. On the day of pickup what I ordered and what they gave me did not match. I ordered doubles, none spicy, as many of my guests dont eat spicy food. They sent me half sweet and half extra spicy doubles; half warm and half cold roti skins. Pretty much whatever they had left back from that day they sent to me whether I ordered it or not. Then told us that the person who makes what we ordered isnt there so we pretty much had to take whatever they had. Great place for a meal, not a place for catering.
Delicious! I’m so happy we found this place and I can’t wait to keep coming back for more.
My lawd my lawd meN my famliy from Virgin Islands went n well got the buffet it was to die for lemme tell u mi son everything was on point no wait none like dat service was amazing n customer service on point as well thx my folks we’ll see u again Saturday have themBuss ups n jerk n curry n hot scotch pepper sauce
Excellent Caribbean food. Staff is friendly. Got to try the goat it is delicious.
First time here today and I’ll definitely be back with my hubby! Food was delicious! Love the home cooked tastes and homey feel, felt like I was at an aunties house! I was most impressed by the 100 health score. If you like Caribbean food - this is surely a spot to come and try out. You won’t be disappointed!
I like consistency, so I was a little dissapointed this time. I got the boneless chicken Roti today and it lacked flavor.
Great food, awesome service. The Doubles and Curry chicken Roti are my favorite.
My favorite restaurant in Georgia! Period. For all my carribean people especially Trinidadians. This is a place for us. Food tastes homemade. 100% recommend.
Not worth the money! Wasnt impressed at all , and the Mac and cheese was disgusting! Green beans were really tasty The oxtails in the rice and peas subpar Ive had better. Dont think Ill be back
It has been several years since I visited and the food was still incredible
I was impressed by the variety on the menu, staff, and the quality for certain a good experience. 👍
Came in to festive music, upbeat customers, and a most jovial and welcoming host the renown Ms. Tassa herself. What an honor to be served by the Queen herself. Seldom do I go into a restaurant and get such a wholesome vibe. It feels like youre dining at someones home. Its such a warm, inciting, and charming atmosphere. As soon as you walk in our get captivated by the spirit of the place, whi his a reflection of Ms.Tassa. she loves cooking, and feeding people. The base qualities of a true nurturer. All of this loving energy translates into the food, and into your body. Love is the greatest recipe, and Tassas serves it up. one luve to All
Always a hit! I love Tassas and will drive over an hour for their food! Yummy Doubles.
The oxtails are so terrible now. They use to be the best on town but now some guy is cooking the food and he obviously cuts corners. The carrots are chopped not shredded and something is off about the sauce. I dont like it anymore which is unfortunate because I use to come to this place every week. I cant find good oxtail anywhere in the city now.
Love this place. Im always looking for real authentic and cooked food thats not fast food. This place is amazing. Food tastes great, Ive been going here for years with my husband.
FIRST AND LAST time I will go there per my experience. Resturant looks like a house, its so cold inside you would have to wear your jacket to dine in, things all over the place. Food was horrible; order duck with roti, goat with roti, and 5 doubles. All was horrible. Duck looks and tastes as if it was cooked a long time ago and reheated several times. The taste was so bland that all you could taste was the chickpeas. The goat was so gamey; they needed to wash their meat better. Roti is not great at all and definitely needs more patience. Double could be better; dough is very thick. Sorry I had to put my opinion out there since you consider your restaurant as a roti shop, then you should know how to cook properly. All I can say there are a lot of people who come spend their money there and they deserve better quality food with such an expensive menu.
Not bad. Small portions, but overall good food. Prices seemed reasonable. Parking is interesting. The restaurant is off a major street, and packing is in the back of the restaurant. Theres a one-way entrance. No military discount and the explanation of why was hilarious. Id go back to try another dish. The restaurant has a family homestyle feeling.
I bought 2 wrapped boneless chicken roti’s. Both chicken roti’s had little to no meat in them, nothing but potatoes and peas. At $12 a roti that’s a real shame. I was really looking forward to a nice tasting Roti. I used to visit Tassa often when i needed my Roti fix but I’m done with Tassa as of today. What makes it worse is i checked the reviews and see where others have complained of the same thing.
Definitely enjoy the personal home feel as well as the authentic taste of the Trini food. This is my go to spot for Curry Chicken and Roti. Delicious 😋 food.
Excellent! Make sure you get there early because they will sell out of things, which in my book is the mark of an excellent West Indian restaurant. I highly recommend the curry chicken and the buss up shut roti. The doubles are fantastic too!
Brought 2 boneless chicken Roti. Where is the chicken? Filled with chick peas, potatoes, and potato skin. Lady said if I want it to be right order the chicken on the side. So that means if you have it wrapped you can be ripped off. Very dry and yuck!!! Going down hill.
I agree, the buffet used to be cheaper now it’s $15 which still isn’t bad for what you get. I can understand how someone will be upset at that change. Some people find ways to get extra plates and put them in someone else’s to go or some people not understanding how much they can eat, easily throw away food so I agree with their price upgrade.I give them five stars because the food is seasoned well and they are usually very fast and attentive because everything is right when you walk in. I always get extremely full. I do think they should shave the fat around the ox tails because it is excessive but other than that everything is perfect. They have several options of sides. Chicken is the main meat on buffet, with a little pork and a little fish crumbles. The sauces are great to add on and the roti bread is perfect. I would come here once a month for sure
I love that they’ve got huge Trini and American flags outside of this place because without it it would be challenging to find this spot. The reception was unfriendly, a smile and good customer service goes a long way, they need to work on that but the bus-up-shot (broken up rotiand curry shrimp I ordered were AMAZING!!!! I was raised around Trinis and Guyanese Grannies 😊The shrimp wasn’t over cooked and my roti was fresh and flaky I absolutely enjoyed this. I paid 17$ for the roti and a doubles, which is definitely overpriced but I will be back because of the taste.
My first visit and i was so pleased with everything i ate..i had the buffet. The food was well seasoned and flavorful! Will difinatly be coming back ( my daughter had the double, we both were happythe roti!!
I had a shrimp roti with tambran sauce on the side two shandi carib one ginger and one sorrell. I drunk the sorrell before I left the parking lot it was so cold but so good. I will definitely be back
Absolutely delicious 😋. Great Caribbean restaurant 🇹🇹. I enjoyed my curry chicken Roti and red solo. If ever feel like eating good curry, great place to go.
Hot, tasty, and delicious food! The service was excellent! (The owner was/is patient and eager to please the customers.👍🏾👍🏾
Delicious curry chicken roti and a double order of fried plantain. Also had their homemade ginger beer (better than that mass produced junk at the grocery stores)
Really loved the setup and atmosphere of this place. I love love love mi curry and was referred here by my Trini friend. Was sad they ran out of doubles, however, you can never go wrong with roti and curry chana and of course pumpkin! Thank you Tassa for this great experience. *You have to wear a mask 😷 before entering the restaurant.
It is always a treat to find Caribbean restaurants but to find an authentic Trini one once in a while always makes my day! Ive been to Trinidad 7 times and this was one of the most authentic tasting places Ive tried. The buffet might look small but there is lots to try and lots of flavor. I left completely stuffed.
Unfortunately today was a "miss" for me. I have eaten at Tassas quite often, and this is the first time I didnt like the food. Ive had their oxtails, so delicious! Curried chicken, mmmm! Goat, melt in your mouth! Fish, oh boy! So good! I stopped by for dinner with my boyfriend. I got the curried goat with white rice and steamed cabbage, he got oxtail with rice and peas to go. As stated, this was the first time I was disappointed. My curried goat did not look like curried goat, there was no curry! See picture. The cabbage was amazing though! Nice & crunchy. Even tho there was no curry in the curried goat, it was some what tasty. My boyfriends oxtails was burnt & tasted like sugar was in it. This didnt taste like similar food that Ive eaten there before. Was it a different chef today? I will definitely go back, because this was my first time being disappointed.
Place was definitely a hidden gem, chicken roti was fabulous and the passion fruit juice was out of this world. Prices are decent as well, buffet is only 10 dollars including multiple plates.
I was brought here by local family for some comfort food. Never having Caribbean food before and not knowing what to expect, I was not disappointed! The food was buffet style home cooking that was suitable for anyones palette. They have homemade ginger beer that was duo delicious! I cant wait to make another lunch date next time Im in the area!
Best food ever! I had the goat roti and my wife had the boneless chicken roti, plus we had doubles as well. Absolutely amazing.
I went there on a weekend for the lunch buffet. The food was delicious. The staff was very nice and courteous as well. I usually get the roti, and their medium and spicy chicken curries. I also got their mango passion fruit drink which was fresh and really good. They have a very small parking which tends to get full pretty quick. I’m not sure where to park if it gets full. Also maybe rotating the food choices in a buffet would be a nice thing as well.
Plenty of food, nice price, back home tastes, and the vibes keep my Caribbean family/friends coming back here regularly. Can also get some hot hot Peppa sauce and methai to go. Guyanese approved! 🇬🇾🍻
A must-visit for every self-proclaimed foodie in Atlanta. Tashas home-style cooking mixes Indo-Caribbean flavors to produce the best in comfort food. This is the soul food of Trinidad! The joint has regulars so will be busy for the buffets on the weekends. Parking is adequate (behind the house/structure through the driveway). Its a nice family atmosphere with a very friendly host. They have Cairbbean soft drinks for the kids & the actual rotis (flat breadare in a box at the counter (theyre great).
Delicious West Indian food for newbies and those who need their fix. And they are the nicest people as well. A must visit.
This place is awesome. Its a buffet with a good selection of items. It seriously is good. The jerk chicken is my favorite anywhere and when you put the juice/sauce on the bread (its in the cooler), perfection.
Very good place to eat. Youll see all the reviews. This was one of my 1st times enjoying Caribbean food. I would get the curry goat. It was fantastic.
First let me say that I was in love by how friendly the staff was. But other than that, this has to be the best curry goat I’ve had so far around the metro Atlanta area. Def worth stopping by
Great authentic trini food you cant tell from the building but the food is great, coming froma caribbean person....its goooood....it was so good I remembered to take a picture after the food was finished
Love this place! Good food & Friendly service! Lots of vegan offerings! And the homemade mango drink is amazing!
Good food and great service. Love their roti and chicken. Lunch buffet for $8. Can’t beat that value.
The food is quite tasty. You can go here to get good vegetarian food also. Place is small but clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly and courteous. One of the best nonveg items are served in the buffet. Nothing fancy but taste is awesome. The roti what they are serving is really tasty.
Just happened upon this place on a Saturday evening and thought I would give a try. Had the very reasonably priced buffet and it was excellent. Chicken in three different flavors, rice, some really nice lentils, choice of about 6 vegetables. Very friendly service and homey atmosphere. I would definitely eat here again.
Trinidad flavors in Atlanta. I had the chicken roti, it very good. Lots of chicken, chick peas and potatoes. Tassas is easy to miss from the street but it is worth turning around to find. My compliments to the Manager he was very friendly and served all customers with class style. I will definitely be back before the end of my trip.
The place for authentic Trini food in Atlanta! Best doubles and roti in town. Warm family atmosphere.
