Tashkonak Hotel in Istanbul

Please avoid this hotel. There are many better ones in this area. First there is no kettle in the room. I booked for 3 nights. By second day the complimentary bottled water was not replenished. I thought the housekeeping had missed our. By the third day there we have consumed both bottles of water. When I asked for two bottles the hotels charged for them, saying that only two bottles are free, regardless of the number of nights of stay. I think this hotel owner is sick in the mind or unethical. One of the reasons I dislike visiting Turkey.

We booked the hotel last minute despite this the staff were fantastic during the booking process and through out our stay. Special thanks to Mr Ali for his time and advice.

Had the most amazing experience staying at this hotel. Kind hospitality, great food and a prime location. If you want authentic vibes...this is it!!!

Good location, very friendly personal. Unfortunately the free parking places are really bad. It is on the side of the road which is very small, so there is a very big chance of getting you car scratched or even hit.I had to move mine further because trucks could not pass. This diappointed me a little but the workers helped me very well! The breakfast is ok, dont expect too much.The walls are very thin, I could hear the neghbours talking.All in all, 3,5/5

Extremely disappointed experience with this place.I booked a room with our family 👪 a month before our travel, when I was in another province I called them to make sure everything is ok, the person I spoke to said everything was ok, and I got another call that they canceled my bookings without asking nor explaining why, I was in a Extremely bad situation because I organized everything according to my ticket, can you imagine you go to Istanbul and find out your hotel is not accepting you, never ever use this place, even if you pay they may canceled tour tickets and you have nowhere to complain to nor can get any help from anyone. Be very careful about this place, you dont want to ruin your vacation because of unprofessional people like this place.

One night stay at this hotel, we were three adults and our 3 single beds room was huge and confortable. Well located with a friendly staff. It is right in front of a mosque, but it might be well isolated as the muezine did not wake us up.

The hotel is located in the center of the old city town. The staff was very warm, kind and helpful. The rooms are not so big but it wasn’t such a big problem for me. The breakfast was very good. Recommend it!

The staff are friendly and helpful and speak English. My experience in early arrival was quite pleasant. My room was not ready, as it was only 9 am, but I was offered breakfast, my luggage was stowed away for me, and the gentleman at the front desk gave me a map and suggestions on how to entertain myself until check in time.My room was on the small side, but as I was staying alone this was not an issue for me. The bathroom was small, as are most European bathrooms Ive seen, obviously retrofitted creatively into an old Istanbul wooden house.Spotlessly clean, and the bedroom had a lovely traditional Turkish design painted on the ceiling.There is a roof terrace with amazing views of the sea and uphill the Blue Mosque can be seen through the trees. It takes only about 5 minutes to reach the Sultanahmet Plaza.On checkout, the staff helped me arrange Covid testing for a very reasonable fee and also helped me arrange transportation to the airport.

Nice clean hotel in Fatih. All the sights in Fatih are walking distance. They have a hearty breakfast every day with various cheeses, eggs, different breads, olives, tea & coffee (no orange juice unfortunately), salads, and meat if you want. The staff is always friendly and will help you with whatever you need.

Five stars for location, one star for the place. Super tiny rooms, cramped stairs, no elevators, small bathrooms, almost no amenities. Breakfast however is not that bad. But the manager (Mr. Widatwas amazing and helpful, he and the breakfast along with the location are the only aspects good about this place.

I’ve just had a lovely 4 nights in this boutique hotel. The atmosphere and people are as warm as their hotel. Hospitality, cleanliness are top notch. It’s less than 5 mins walk from the main tourist attractions ( blue mosque)Will visit again and recommend.Thank you for the experience.

One of the worst experience in a hotel so far. I have travelled a lot, but not seen this kind of attitude.We booked this hotel 2 months ago. I booked a 3 bedroom apartment, and specifically asked that all three bedroom has attached bathrooms. I had emailed them quite a few times and asked for other amenities. For which they said that there is no kitchen, no washing machine, etc. For which I have no issue. But they said all rooms have attached bathrooms (and this was a criteria for me). But on arrival, I was given a room with just two bathrooms. They said that the previous guest had extended their stay. But that was not my fault. On this the manager said that they will call the police if I did not pay. Yousef specifically said to call the police. We had gone out to look for another hotel as we wanted attached bathrooms.On top of this this hotel doesnt provide any water or tea coffee in the rooms. Which is surprising.

What is wrong with the people attending this place? The person who attended us became upset and started to raise his voice because we couldnt understand his English. At first they are nice but then they loose patience quite easily.

Not a bad place to drop your bones, but not more (imho). There was no option to make a tea or coffee in a room, a/c was rather old and loud and our room was quite small (not a problem for its price). Service and location/price are good for Istanbul.So 6 from 10 for this hotel.

The staff is not friendly, one of them was even a little disrespectful and the rooms are quite small, water for either the bathroom or showering was gone from time to time. The location is the only good thing I could mention of this place.

The hospitality and friendliness of the staff is outstanding. Place is close to the city and to the sea. The rooms are neat and tidy, o definitely recommends the place - 4 STARS!

A very lovely hotel, close to all must-sees (Topkapi, Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar...). Safe neighbourhood, very friendly staff, clean, good breakfast buffet. The roof terrace with view over the Bosphorus is a nice advantage of this hotel.

Its cheap hotel with 100% comfort, clean and very good rooms. Little bit small but you will not regret to stay here. Recomended 100%

Extremely nice helpful and friendly personnel on all levels. The hotel itself is placed in a nice cosy neighborhood, close to multitude of markets shops restaurants....just at a walking distance. The included breakfast is a combination of healthy food bread omelette mixed sallad bowl cheese vegetables coffee etc. Good and big enough to hold you satisfied until late afternoon:Anything the personnel and management would be able to do within their power to help you out and make your stay as pleasant and smooth as possible, they will try to offer. Next time Im in town....I wont hesitate to come back right to this place, with very affordable prices as well;An easy 5 stars for me....

We stayed in the Family Room and it was spacious and comfortable. The room and bathroom were huge, with its own balcony and hallway.The hotel facilities were beautiful and the view was amazing.The real star of this hotel is Sena, the receptionist. She went above and beyond to help our needs and make us feel comfortable. I dont have the words to express how grateful we are for her assistance. She truly represents the kindness and warmth of the Turkish people.

Ive stayed in many hotels and this has to be by far the most accommodating and family friendly hotel. They went above and beyond to cater to my family of 7, even offering us a discount to upgrade and get an extra room which were all connected. We felt very safe and if we ever had a request they dealt with it sometimes within seconds.The hotel is incredibly clean, is in a good location, quiet and breakfast is decent.

Stayed here in January 2008 as a couple and again in January 2020, this time with a young family. After 12 years away the service is still as amazing as the first time we stayed. Great rooms, clean and very well located, all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend and will continue to stay here when Im in Istanbul.

We stayed there for five nights only because the fees were non refundable!- Room services were very bad and the bed covers with stain!- Breakfast was good and clean- no elevators and only a tiny spiral staircase is available!- no pest control and many insects observer in the room.- Location is excellent for walking but big tour busses can reach to 300m from the hotel.Rate: 2 rooms for 190 euro per night B&B, relay didn’t worth that amount!Amenities: very poor.- Staff: very pilot staffConclusion: if hotel operator work more on improvement of room services the hotel would be very nice.

Best value hotel! The room was clean, neat, and spacious. The breakfast they serve was delicious! The staff at the front desk were very helpful, and kind. The location of the hotel is close to the tourist sights. Absolutely loved our stay here. Highly recommend it.

A very good hotel in the Sultanahmet close to the Blue Mosque. Room was clean and the beds were comfy with clean sheets. Bathroom was newer and very functional. Staff was very attentive and helpful. We had a couple of minor problems and they were addressed promptly and effectively. This was our second trip to Istanbul and we would not hesitate to stay at the Tashkonak Hotel again.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was nice and spacious, and thankfully the AC worked. I had been to a few other hotels on my trip and their AC wasnt working. Overall i had a very comfortable stay, the Breakfast timings are great If you want to sleep in a little. The washroom however could use a few renos and a good detailed cleaning. One pet peeve from an environment standpoint is that there was a sign in the washroom that said if you need fresh towels to put the dirty ones on the floor. Even if I didnt have any dirty towels on the floor, I was getting two sets of clean towels everyday. As I said, its only from an environmental standpoint as Its wasteful for almost clean towels to be washed everyday.
