Large, circa-1924 zoo with fish, birds & an aquarium featuring both freshwater & saltwater species.
+ animals! and what else youll need at the zoo+ affordable tickets+- domestic and farm animals are nice. but like in any other zoo, wild animals are not living their best lives. choice to accept that or not is up to you🌗+ even though it is placed in the city centre, getting there by a walk/public transport is a problem (if you dont have a car)+ half of the territory is either abandoned or currently on a maintenance
A nice place to visit at any day
Ok
👍👍
Too smelt for breathing also disgusting site
Ok nice!
nice zoo and very clean
Love it
I like it 🙂
Good place to visit with children!
Good
Its very good place for kids to know about animals. Some shade are not clean enough.
The lion was separated from his mate as they both gave really sad growls. The mother goose was separated from her baby. The camel was not well maintained.Taking care of animals is an Amana (trust from God)
I feel in jungle
Quite a lot animals. And the best place to visit
The zoo look so bad! The management is so bad too, i feel bad for the animals. You guys doesnt feed them at all. Theyre so skinny and they look sick from a far. The cages are mostly empty and small for animals there. The water is dirty too, not only that some of them doesnt have enough water to play around. Wasted my money, and time just to see unhealthy animals. You better treat your animals right!!!!!!!!!!
Refect
Very nice place, most of the animals are looking good and healthyBut there was an elephant who really looked sad:(, i think he is feeling lonely as he was alone. Poor elephant he needs better condition
We went to the zoo on Saturday. The last time I was here was before pandemic ,so over 2 years. I have read that the principal has changed here and after visiting zoo I can declare that the situation has become better. Despite cold weather it was looked very clean and nice inside. The animals cages looked clean, animals looked clean and fed up. I know that zoos are weird these days, but thats the way it is now here. So i you have a child come and enjoy time watching animals and feeding them. The bad thing is that they sell bread to feed ducks, but I read that it is prohibited to feed ducks with bread. They also sell apples so you can feed animals which is good.
There are a lot of animals but the place is not well maintained as comparing to other places in this beautiful city
Nice place but i think the animals arent in good shape
It was nice experience.
25k entrance fee per adult. Serious maintenance is required and please dont use innocent animals for your business purpose.
I love In Kumkurgan. ❤❤❤
This zoo is a saddening show of abuse on animals: cages are small, extremely dirty and there is no consideration of animals’ social biology. It shall be reported to PETA. If you love animals and you have a little bit of scientific literacy, you shall avoid this sad sad place.
Zopark
Very nice place for half day trip…Don’t try food from the street its so expensive and its not tasty also…Zoo animals so active… but look like more maintenance required…
Zoo is very old but good it has many interesting creatures (right now the zoo is open but most of the place is under a renovation to restore the old place but it is interesting that there are salt water and regular water fishs are available there and more you dont pay for kids under 8 years old , for kids from 9 to 15 you pay 15,000 som and for the rest from 15+you pay 25,000 som.
Ita a good place to be if you are with kids. They can enjoy train ride etc.
TASHKENT ZOOThe modern zoo is a center for the creation of collections of rare and endangered animal species included in the International and Republican Red Data Books, their artificial breeding and familiarization of the population with the fauna of the Republic and the World. In addition, it is a cultural, educational and research institution for the conservation, breeding and reintroduction of rare and valuable species of animals. The Tashkent Zoo was organized in 1924 at the initiative of zoological scientists of the Central Asian University.By the end of the 40s, the Tashkent Zoo, formed and with an exposition of about 200 species, took a direct part in organizing a network of zoos in Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan.Since the 80s, the initiative group of the old zoo began a long-term work in search of new spacious territories within the city and permission to obtain them. However, it should be noted that the small zoo continued to live its large, fulfilling life. The old expositions were reconstructed and repaired, the collection of animals, rich in species, was preserved and, as far as possible, grew. Thousands of citizens, residents and guests of Uzbekistan enjoyed visiting a small corner of wildlife in the city center. But the most important achievement of the old zoo was the training of professional staff to work with exotic animals. Despite the cramped areas, modest mud brick premises and other shortcomings, many species of animals reproduced well in the zoo. The special pride of the Tashkent Zoo was the breeding of Andean condors, for the first time in the world history of zoos.In 1992, the territory of the Tashkent Zoo was 10.7 hectares, the number of animal expositions totaled more than 270 species. In 1994, by order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 267-f from 13.07.1994. construction of a new zoo has begun, meeting all modern requirements and world standards. In 1997, on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic - September 1 - a new zoo was put into operation, located next to the Botanical Garden of the city. Its territory now covers an area of 21.5 hectares. The animals received spacious comfortable enclosures equipped with ponds and warm rooms in case of winter cold.Today, the zoo has departments: "Aquarium", "Terrarium", "Primates", "Parrots", "Birds", "Predatory", "Waterfowl", "Ungulates", "Invertebrates", "Small mammals", "Vivarium", and "Contact Zoo". A veterinary clinic, toxicological and biochemical laboratories operate to provide veterinary care to animals.
This zoo is long famous for its Alligators. Nothing much to do. Outside restaurants are good enough.
There are number of people interesting animals there, but zoo administration should do some hard work to make the zoo more attractive place for visitors.
This zoo is extremely disturbing. The animals live in bare concrete small cages. They look terrible underfed and many are without doubt in very poor health. The cages and zoo is very dirty it smells and the animal protection really need to visit this zoo as how they are keeping these animals is just cruel. The bears especially are begging for food and water they look malnourished and their coats show severe neglect. Please ask for help allow someone in to help relocate these poor animals to a sanctuary. This is no life for them.
Very poor conditions for animals.Since 2004 when I was there last time nothing has changed for animals they need more space ... more freedom at least ..
Half the animals are sick and smelly very boring place find something else to do
These poor animals are put up in awful enclosures. The enclosures are tiny, have little to no water & grass, no toys or anything to entertain the animals, and usually they are alone in the cage with no companion. Take this photo of the bear for instance- no water, no grass, no toys, uncomfortably laying out on stone because thats all there was in the entire enclosure.... It was really quite terrible to see & Im ashamed that my admission ticket went towards supporting this so called "zoo".
Animals are in danger, theyre all hungry and the administration doesnt spend the required amount of resources to make them a more comfortable atmosphere for the animals!
Great place to take the children!
Tashkent zoo is a good place to visit if you ever come to Tashkent, Uzbekistan once go here.In here you can have fun know and see animals. But if you dont or cannot read Uzbek or Russian you will not be able to know more about the animals.
