Tartines - Restaurant in Chimaltenango, Guatemala
The view and service are great. The food is good but quite expensive for the taste. The crepe was not really french and overall it was more good local cuisine rather than french food. Its still worth the experience and for a special occasion is a nice place to go.
A great steak bearnaise, awesome view, and super lovely people. I couldnt finish my steak and asked for something to put it in so I could feed a street dog. The waiter asked if I wanted to add it to the scraps that they feed to the dogs nightly which really touched my heart. Kudos to these kind people!
Excellent food, great taste and innovative flavors
All of these reviews and not one person has mentioned the French fries. They are the best fries I’ve ever had in my entire existence. I’ve traveled to many places and tried foods from everywhere and no place has ever had the perfect French fry until I came here. Don’t think I’m exaggerating, try them for yourself and reply to my review. They will change your entire perspective on the French fry. Perfect crunch on the outside and the texture is amazing. I had them with the steak bearnaise. They blew my mind!
Excellent food, service and ambiance.
Delicious dinner with a beautiful view of the ruins. I loved how intimate this restaurant is, the owner was very welcoming, service was excellent. I got their steak and fries, their house salad and brown dessert. So good! Probably my favorite meal out of all the ones I had in Antigua over the course of 6 days.
The only thing missing was a view of the ruins because we had an inside table but the food was outstanding!!
Wonderful service great food...large portions with a very romantic roof top terrace. Here its all about the streak...the one with bearnaise sauce is especially good. It is right next Antiguas central park so it is easy to find and is one of the best restaurants in town.
This restaurant was a fantastic surprise... best terrance & view in Antigua! The staff were extremely friendly & very knowledgeable of the food & wine. The chef/owner was a true delightfully nice man. We came for a quick drink & ended up having a great bottle of red wine and some entries. We will be back soon! We would highly recommed this excellent restaurant ... you will not be disappointed!! Sincerely, Nancy & Julio your Canadian friends
The best steak in town, wonderful paninis. Excellent service!
Beautiful quaint restaurant with views of the Antigua Guatemala cathedral ruins
I had a lovely dinner here. The view is of the ruins and it’s quiet lovely. The food was delicious. I ordered the duck, sparkling water (Perrier), and Cousiño Macul Cabernet Sauvignon, and for dessert I ordered a delicious fruit mousse. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a delicious meal and a warm ambiance.
The most expensive aperol spritz I have ever had at LATIN AMERICA, paid +$14.00 for one.May I remind you, this is LATIN AMERICA and bear in mind not even in many parts of US they charge this much. Found it ridiculous and it wasnt even good.
Great food, atmosphere and service. Nice view of the church ruins from the terrace.
Gorgeous view and amazing food!!!
Ive traveled to Antigua 5 times, and this meal is definitely one of the most memorable. I had the restaurant to myself tonight which also made me sad. So, Im in here telling all of you to please visit and enjoy a beautiful and delicious meal with some amazing views!
Amazing experience. The service was beyond any other restaurant I have ever been too. The view on the rooftop was gorgeous. We ordered the steak bearnaise. The steak was cook just how I like it and the portion was generous. Im not a fan of artichokes but their artichoke as delicious. Highly recommend this place if you come to Antigua. The servers were so attentive bits like they were reading our minds.
This place is not as they present themselves. This is a common food joint. Thats normally a great thing. Really, like this is a five star review for a restaurant that makes food and sells it at average prices.Tartine, however, presents itself with the "Best Terrace in Town" and some of the high class dining options youd love to see in a fine dining environment. Then, presents you with meh with each following layer. The wine list is insanely overpriced for the wines theyre selling (no joke, look up some of the wines theyre selling for hundreds of quetzales. Youre getting CHEAP wine). Someone at my table ordered a panini and it looked exactly the same as a street meat panini. My personal favorite, but not when a restaurant is promising a fine experience.
All the food is great as well as the view of the ruins
Best place to eat in Antigua! Highly recommend the Steak Bernaise. Service is also excellent.
Amazing cuisine! One of my favorite places to dine in Antigua! Staff is always friendly and efficient.
Showed up without reservations and was given a table on their wonderful terrace overlooking the cathedral ruins. Had the steak brenaise. Service was kind and prompt. Everything on my plate was cooked to perfection and the sauce was on point. It wasn’t a cheap meal, but well worth it.
Great food, great service, beautiful location.
Lovely restaurant in a lovely city with delicious foodThe terrace has an amazing view. Would be a 5, but the space is a little cramped.
The food was really good, fresh and prepared when we ordered, wide variety of wines and brilliant service - no issue to prepare something different. And the view from the terrace amazing!
Its one of the best restaurants in Antigua. Jean Francoise its an extraordinary chef.
Good food, friendly staff, and nice views.
Great food and service in a beautiful environment. Highly recommend.
Great food with an awesome view to Antigua ruins
Amazing panini! This is one of the few places in Antigua that will do take-away. Had the chicken panini and it was delicious. Reasonably priced for a nice place Antigua.
The food is really good and even better is the view that you have. If the volcano is active you can see the lava from there. I highly recommend the crepes, the duck, and the fries are my fave. Great place for a romantic dinner. Best time to go at sunset. Make reservations if it is high season.
Food has gone a bit downhill but it’s still such a cute spot. Pesto pasta bland and boring but the robalo was outstanding !! I think they just need a menu update. Service delightful but if you’re seated inside upstairs prepare to sweat inside. Terrace is gorgeous! Ask for terrace! Owner is such a wonderful woman - I hope they revamp the menu soon!
The food here was magnificent. I had the gnocchi with cream and mushrooms and my wife had the meat and vegetable lasagna. Really really good and flavorful.
Superb food and excellent location. The view from the rooftop is great.
French onion soup, gazpacho just incredibly prepared. Try to eat upstairs and get taken back in time 300 years. Best restaurant in the city of many good restaurants.
Very nice food! And amazing view!Needs better service that knows the wine menu... we got a dessert wine for our main course...
Wonderful place. It does have a really nice terrace overlooking some beautiful ruins, giving you the feeling that youre eating amongst them. The food our group ordered was very good, and fairly timely. Service was great. It was a unseasonably hot day and our glasses never ran dry. Its a bit on the pricier side for the offerings, but not unreasonably so, especially given the quality. Word to the wary, if you are handicapped, you wont get up the spiral stairs to the terrace. Overall, very pleasant experience and i will return.
Good food and a great view from the roof terrace.
This is a great place.we sat on the terrace and viewed the old city ruins in the back. Feels like you are being transferred back in time. Food was very good. We had hummus, salad with pears and goat cheese, French onion soup and vegetarian lasaña. All very tasty. Nice wine list. Great service from a friendly staff.
Awesome!! The best restaurant I went to while visiting Antigua. The food is excellent, excellent, I can not stress this enough. Had a great wine as well. Their chef is French, hence the authenticity of the French style food and the great balance in flavors. I would definitely recommend this one.
Definitely a fantastic stop for some French food in Antigua! I got the meat and vegetable lasagna and it was so tasty! It was well priced, and the food filled me up! Bread and butter was provided, and the water was safe, as well as the ice.
A little pricey, but fantastic food...and ya cant beat the view up top! Always have a great experience here.
Great food and atmosphere. Cool views of ruins and a possibility of a great sunset. Not a cheap place, but according to people who know, consistently great.
Lovely location with views of the Cathedral and ruins. French inspired menu, well executed meals. Friendly and efficient staff.
Had the crepe, it was huge and awesome. The side of fries were also very large. My best friend got the panini. We both ordered lemonade with sparkling water. Total was about $250q.
Everything looks decent and elegant. Not so many options for vegans though. Probably just bread with hummus (so just a starter)
My favorite restaurant in La Antigua. Consistent quality and service that excels most other eateries here. Never a disappointment or down day!
Very nice French restaurant with an excellent View From The Patio. Nice people. Great service. Delicious duck, fish, and steak.
Good restaurant offering Italian fare. Has a much larger sister restaurant in the city. Great views of Agua Volcano and it overlooks the ruins of San Jose Cathedral.
Everything on the menu, which I know very well, is very good. Jean François, the owner and chef is a very nice frenchman. I have had many meals here and I have never been disappointed.
