Fantastic seafood chowder ！

Always excited to go to Tarkine Fresh for Lunch or to pick up fresh oysters to have at home. Laura and staff go above n beyond.. mini seafood chowder and oysters yummy 😋

Best oysters ever for such a low price of 20$, this deserves to be at the price of at least 80$ but for a 1/4 of the price it was incredible.

Best oysters in Tasmania and Australia. Seriously delicious. So plump and creamy with a true taste of the cleanest ocean water in this realm.

Fantastic must try chowder and oysters. If travelling around Tasmania make this one of the stops.Customer service was excellent as well, everything clean and well maintained. A big thanks to the chef, she was incredibly helpful and a great cook!

Best oysters I have ever had in Australia. Fresh, tasty and creamy.Got take away frozen Tarkine mix which were not as good as I expected but giving 5 stars for the fresh oysters.

The menu is great, oysters many ways. Had the natural oysters Yum...!Well worth a visit if you love oysters..! Only a couple of indoor tables so book if eating in. Closes at 3pm.

Extremely disappointed with the service from this place. Both two tables (only two tables available to sit down in storewere being used, as one table was about to leave I asked the worker if we could take that table once they left and was told no because a it had been reserved, to which we understood and said we were happy with take away. The next couple who ordered were then seated at this table, to find out they were not the people with the reservation. I approached the worker to say we were told we could not sit, to which she said “they won’t be long”. It’s so disappointing to see that there are still places in this world with such disrespect! We would have gladly sat and been just as quick as that couple. I will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone in the future

Enormous and Fresh!We ordered 2 half dozen samplers.One sampler were cold and fresh with the variety of tomato salsa, smoked salmon, and cucumber topping.One sampler was hot and cooked with the variety of a panko Rocky Point, bacon Kilpatrick, and a chilli bacon.Both sets were delicious! Our son liked the panko, I loved the fresh with the tomato salsa, and my husband happily ate the bacon infused ones.Couldn’t leave Smithton without trying the famous Tarkine Fresh Oysters!

Super fresh oysters, the cooked Kilpatrick and Rocky are also delicious. One of my favorites oyster restaurant in Tasmania.

Very fresh and sweet oysters. They are larger than the ones I had in any other states. Both the fresh ones and baked ones are tasty.

The best oysters I had during my 3 weeks trip in Tassie, very fresh and in decent size. Their seafood chowder and salmon burger are really really lovely too! This is a must stop around the area. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed very much the fresh oysters. We bought a dozen of them and had them in our hotel room.The staff was very nice and friendly. The price was lower than the other places that we had before. So if you are in Smithton, dont ever miss this place.

Overpriced, bland oysters not well shucked (shell in several). Oysters were dry and old, stuck to the shell - nothing freshly shucked about them. Ive had better oysters from Coles and fresher too. Set up for snobs without any actual taste, this place is one to miss. If I could give it zero stars, I would.If you want delicious Tas oysters go to Bruny Island.

These guys were amazing! Not just their huge selection of oysters but their service as well. We ordered a large takeaway selection of delicious baked and uncooked oysters with unique and delicious toppings. Their uncooked selection were by far our favorites. What really added to it all was their service because they were so accommodating and made our helped make our day super special.

Awesome fresh oysters, got there a bit early and the ladies were so welcoming. Had the oyster wheel well worth the money. Amazing flavours, the ladies were so informative explain everything, showed us so fresh shucked oysters and the different size shell and meat. Would highly recommend this as a must do when in the area. My brothers face in the photo says it all

Visited TFO with a group of students from Kinmen Island. Massive changes since I worked for them 31 years ago. Although no processing was happening I was interested in all the different processing machines. The students also saw 2 of the barges launched.

Beautiful pacific oysters and not hard to open. Bought 2 dozen and had to return for 4 dozen more before leaving the area. Sandy Bay Eyre Peninsula still probably our favourites but these would have to come a close second.

Fresh oysters from the pristine local area cannot be beat. Located on the wharf area it is well worth the visit to sample. Great value for money and you can pick up todays catch with all the accoutrements you may need. Definitely worth a trip for anyone who loves seafood or anyone wishing to try worlds best oysters

On the harbour at Smithton, a little Cafe selling oysters fresh, frozen and on a menu. Staff were very helpful and prices very reasonable and really plump and yummy. Bought half a dozen sucked a covered in garlic, sour cream cheese topping ready to cook for $15.

Had a dozen mixed - natural, curried and kilpatrick.Beautiful and fresh and for the first time in my life I put a picture of the completed plate on instagram ( shame!!)Great service from the lady from Rockhampton as well.

Great oysters. Bit disappointed in the response as I purchased 6 dozen unshucked oysters when I asked if it was possible to get a sample, as I dont have my shucking knife with me. I was told we dont give out samples. For good sake. I just spent $85 there. One oyster as a sample would not kill you. Even if you suggested that I can buy a single oyster that you can freshly unshuck for me out the back for $1.A. Asking for a sample does not nesassaraly mean I want one for free.B. Im not just walking in the door and asking for a sample without purchasing anything.C. A free sample in any case when Ive made a reasonable size purchase would make this review awesome instead of bad.Anyway. Got home to my shucking knife. Tarkine Oysters are delicious to say the least. Cant wait to eat more than the sample I had once I got home today. Kilpatrick and a la natural the oyster feast begins😁

The most welcoming people. The Oysters are sublime. From the perfectly shucked natural to the divine creations topped with honey mustard or Smoked salmon and creme fraiche.

Very small retail operation with dine in facilities (about 3 tableswith very friendly and knowledgeable staff and, of course, amazing oysters. A must visit destination if youre in the NW Tassie and like seafood. Note they dont serve cooked oysters until 11.30am or so.

Went there mid-December 2018 and it is definitely one of the food trail places that must not be missed. It is a small venue but the owner made us so welcomed. The oysters are the freshest we have ever had and you can choose to have it raw or cooked (Rocky Point, Mornay or Kilpatrick). The Rocky Point is unique and a highlight but my favourite was the Kilpatrick.

The friendly staff are committed to make your time there memorable. The freshest produce, the commitment to outstanding customer service is just the start!!!!!!!!

Hands down the best oysters i have ever tasted! The freshness was out of of this world. If you arent an oyster lover try the Rocky Point oysters... it converted my partner! Thanks guys!
