Tapa the World in Sacramento

We had patatas bravas, calamari, eggplant, tortilla, mixed paella, and pumpkin empanadas. Everything was delicious and fresh. Staff was great. Live music was a nice touch. Our first time there. Cant wait to go back, but I want octopus on the menu!!!

The Tri Tip was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Just an explosion of flavor and if you love mushrooms this meal is the best choice. The flan was probably the best desert I ever had.

Very nice atmosphere, service and vibe. Excellent empanadas, Caesar salad and the perfect amount of flavor just a tad under spicy on some of the best musselsI have ever had. Definitely going back to try more tapas. Tapas vary daily. Coffee was also delicious!

Pimientos del Piquillo Rellenos and Lomo de Cordero were both delicious! The wait staff was so welcoming. We sat outside and met a famous Instagram dog on his evening walk. 🐶🥂 Great food, kind staff, new friends!

I had the filet mignon tips the paella in the sangria wow I’m eating the leftover of the paella the next day just made my weekend amazing this is what I love food and going to places Like this see you guys Saturday

Service was good. Food was not authentic nor flavorful. Ordered 3 different tapas. Drink was ok but orange peel dirty.

Food was wonderful. Expensive but tasty. Service was friendly. There was a small problem with the order and no efforts to make it right, which is disappointing, given the price.

First time here. Food was tasty. Server was not interested in customer service. Hair was found in food and no offer was made to accommodate. No customers there during peak hour so makes you wonder what the deal is.

Really loved this place! First time here, the drinks are to die for! Same average prices as anywhere else in Sac for a drink, but the fruit is muddled and they weren’t stingy with the alcohol either. Food was delicious! Just overall great experience and can’t wait to come back.

A delightful/ delicious tapas location in Sacramento, CA. Courteous staff member Nick was a wealth of information pertaining to the menu & specials. Brook the owner came to our table to chat about the menu and upcoming events. If your traveling via Sacramento, stop there and treat yourself. While Im 1.15 hours away, I plan on returning to its flamenco show next month.Its special of filet mignon wrapped w bacon, its empanadas with turkey / herbs are a 10+++, the Rioja Cab was perfect w flavors of its Terra, full mouth...

Great go-to. Outdoor seating along the sidewalk. On weekends have musician playing Spanish tunes. Inside eating can get very noisy when its busy. Excellent food. Great service.

Came from way out of town. Could not have picked a better place to eat, tasted so damn good. If I come back though here Id stop here again.

Not the same as it used to be.. kind of sad. Queso del dia $13 worth about $5, the grilled veggies $15 worth about $6.. not the same as it used to be.

Excellent tapas and delicious paella 🥘! Well-worth the wait that paella takes. Lovely live Spanish guitar and thirst-quenching icy cold sangria rounded out a wonderful late dinner on a balmy Summer night.

It was great!! I cant wait to go back!! The food is so on point! The atmosphere was nice and the people that were serving us were so nice. The chef and his wife are very awesome. im so glad my friends asked me to have my birthday dinner here💜💜 We did a test run a few days before the big dinner. And we had great service then as well.. I got to sample so many different dishes and still havent scratch the surface of the menu.. they have a great varieties of vegetarian options for the family as well.. I would love to point out a specific dish but everything was so good I cant sorry just eat everything my friends.. I just want to say thanks for making my day so enjoyable we will be able soon🤩🤤

Consistently a relaxing experience. We had a few tapas - olives, patatas braves, a salad and a couple of glasses of wine for less than $50 while listening to a spectacular guitarist who plays on Friday nights. My favorite restaurant in midtown Sacramento.

So nice when a restaurant passes test of time...has been there about 20 years...great lunch spot, can get a great meal and ambiance for good value. The prawns seem to be on the small side but great flavor. Never been for dinner. Would like to try for dinner.

Five of us went to dinner. We ordered bread and dipping as an appetizer, unfortunately they didnt serve it to us until our orders arrived, 30 minutes later. One of us didnt get served until after the rest of us were done. So she had it packed to go. The afagato was not what I expected. The tapas didnt resemble tapas from other restaurants.We were underwhelmed.

Great food and the staff is amazing! My girlfriend and I don’t have many night out but we’re really glad this one ended up being a really great experience. Chloe was our server and she not only was really attentive she was also funny as hell!

Great food - really excellent flavors. Very accommodating for allergies and I always walk away feeling full and like I had a really pleasant dining experience. Feels a little old school, but one of my favorites in town.

I love this place so much!! I have NEVER had anything that wasnt good here. Sometimes I just come grab those lamb curry empanadas to go. The beef tips are different than anywhere else its just a really good vibe and time always here.

My daughter brought me to Tapas and Im so happy they were delicious from start to finish. Staff was lovely and helpful wished I had taken a pic our dinner but ate it up too quick to think of it. Just have to return soon. Ty

Excellent food and excellent drinks!Come in and enjoy an array of wonderful appetizers. Too late for reservations? See if there is a place at the bar! The bartender was very helpful, happy, and well mannered and the food was incredible. Cant wait to go back.

My husband brought me here to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious and the Cheesecake was AMAZING! The service we received was outstanding. I cant wait to come back and bring some friends to enjoy the food. Thank you Tapa the World!

I enjoyed my visit. The food was all very well made and I enjoyed the atmosphere outdoors (although the street is loud). Service was friendly although a little slow. They did comp us an appetizer because we had to wait, which I appreciated.Overall this felt a lot like an actual meal in Spain. I would visit again.

Got the lunch paella mix, shrimp gambas and dinner special menu kiki’s burger (?at lunch time. Main dishes served with fresh salad. I really enjoyed their salad because it’s really well mixed with the dressing. Some restaurants just put the dressing on the top. Here they literally mixed every single leaf with tasty dressing. My Husband and I got sangria and Madrid mule both are pretty good. The reason I cut one star is their Gambas shrimp is too small. I understand when you cook it could be small. But they are too small. Sauce and the amount was okay but the size of the shrimp is not enough to convey its flavors. Paella is a little soggy but its tasty. Burger beef cooked perfect and jamon was fresh. Service was good and recommended drinks were good.

I wish I’d taken a photo of the food because it was BEAUTIFULLY plated and absolutely delicious, as were the drinks. We had the Champiñones al Ajillo, the Grilled Vegetables, the Seared Ahi Tuna, the Bread Basket and Dipping Sauce, and the Flourless Chocolate Cake with Strawberry Sangria Sauce. There was a guitarist playing live music which made a lovely ambiance, while you could still hear each other and have a conversation. Our service was great as well (particularly, shout out to Marcus), we’ll definitely be back!

Experience authentic delicious fresh classic style Spanish Tapas in a vibrant and lively midtown restaurant, with a great ambiance and vibe!! All the items we ordered, from the amazing grilled octopus, fresh Mediterranean salad, grilled vegetables and mixed olives where very flavorful, fresh and beautifully prepared. The wait staff and owner where friendly, attentive and on point.Reservations not required. We visited on a Saturday late afternoon and where seated in a few minutes, with cold drinks in hand shortly after that. We had a lovely dinner and will definitely be coming back!! A midtown gem.

This is my 3rd time visit the restaurant, the first 2 visit were amazing 10/10, but last night my boyfriend took me here for my birthday and the service was awful, the girl that served us I don’t know if it was a waitress or a hostess, she didn’t even bring my sangria, no one checked on us, i needed more water and no one care about, we wanted to order dessert and I didn’t see another server for the rest of the night that care about us, so we left unhappy, the food was really good but the service terrible.I just wanted to spend a good time in a good restaurant for my birthday :( it wasnt worth it

I ordered the Kobe Burger and Paella. The Kobe burger was solid although the price was misleading (17.50 on the menu and I was charged 18.00). Paella was good but I felt it lacked some more depth in the flavor. There were tons of meet and clearly a ton of effort put into the dish so I give the chef props; but I probably wouldn’t order it again in the future. If you do get the paella definitely call ahead though it does take 35-45 mins to make. Service was bare minimum too. Never was checked on at all, never was asked how the food was. So overall tread carefully when going here but the food definitely had potential.

My plate was sweet not what I was expecting for chiles stuffed. Ever had a sweet flavor. Great presentation but that all. The sangria was perfect.

The food was some of the most flavorful I’ve ever had and the service was impeccable and thoughtful. I am beyond impressed with my experience. The ambience was beautiful and I felt like I was in another part of the world away from all the hustle and bustle of Sacramento’s busy streets. Warm and inviting I absolutely adored every small detail. Food presentation was pure art. Thank you for the wonderful time! I look forward to many more !!!

I went at lunch time on a Thursday it was not crowded. The service was impeccable as was the food i had the beef tips and lamb empanadas Delicious! I would recommend this restaurant and I will be returning.

This place has amazing Spanish food. I really enjoyed ordering the tapas. Try the sangria. It is great! We ordered the chorizo combo platter, mushrooms, kobe beef, bread, dipping sauce, clams, croquette and the potatoes. All really good! The ambience was good. Spanish guitar in the background. The resturant was fairly cool even though it was 111 degrees outside. This place has outdoor seating if you want. I would return to this place. Great for a family dinner or if you want to show someone around Sacramento.

Amazing! Couldn’t recommend more. Everything was incredible tasty and fresh and you could tell that it was all cooked with quality ingredients and passion. Chef Marcos could not have been nicer too. Him and his wife run this place and obviously Covid has been tough on business, but they have a great patio dining area and are ready to get back to serving the community! Can’t go wrong in supporting this local, independently owned spot. :)

Absolutely loved this place! My new favorite spot for Spanish food. Simple but cute atmosphere with a guitar player that plays vibrant and sensual music that really gets you in the spanish vibe. The food and drinks are amazing but worth the price. You can make reservations or walk in. I am definitely satisfied my paella craving

My friends and I chose this place for the food and ambiance. We split a number of our favorite tapas as well as a special dinner entree (pan seared chicken breast with shrimp and asparagus over mashed potatoes). This was a great way to enjoy a variety of dishes. My favorite tapa was the sauteed mushrooms in an oh so yummy white sauce. The talented guitarist entertained us with his tasteful selection of Latin numbers.

Great service and delicious food wrapped in a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Our Saturday evening was one of good friends and good choices. The live Spanish guitar is a great touch.Theres a reason Tapa the World has been a Sacramento staple for more than 20 years.

Awesome lunch special. Not overly expensive good prices. Excellent service from staff. I will return again soon. Soooo delicious.

This place is a nice little gem in midtown. The service was great, I really liked the communication. When a dish takes longer then most of the dishes the waitress let us know the approximate wait time. My favorite was the appetizers. The calamari was delicious but what really set it off was the dipping sauce. I will say the sauce with the potatoes was a bit underwhelming, it was basically spaghetti sauce; at least it was better than ketchup.

Paul and his staff were amazing! Superior customer service and a beautiful welcoming atmosphere inside and out. Service was fast and they checked on us frequently. We started off with the seared scallops and rock shrimp which were delicious. Later we had paella which was delightful and empanadas and bread pudding for dessert. The blueberry empanadas were out of this world and I will definitely be back soon just for those, wish I had enough room to polish off all three but I have plans to come back just for the dessert and wine. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience will see you soon.

The food was amazing but the service was not very nice. The waitress was racist towards me. She was rude, she completely ignored me, and seemed disgusted by my presence. The gentleman there however was very wonderful! He was friendly and attentive to our order.

This is second time Ive been here with my BF and it wasnt as good as the first. The service was meh. I think our waitress was a little too busy. She was nice, but not too attentive. We waited a long time for our bill and when it finally arrived, it was the wrong one. Disappointing. Food wise- good/so so. I had a cup (I ordered a bowlof the seafood soup. Im glad I only had the cup. It was bland and uninteresting. The eggplant was like eggplant parm and it was tasty. My BF got the lamb and I dont normally like lamb, but I tried his and it was delicious! I kept telling him I think they made a mistake and gave him the beef. It was super tender and cooked perfectly and the rice that came with it was good. Although on the higher price end, it was a nice entree. He likes this place more than I, so Ill keep coming back as long as he wants to.

My boyfriend and I had been wanting to come here for years and we never got around to it. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait. The food, atmosphere and staff was wonderful. There was live music and our waitress was really informative about tapas because I had never had them before. I really enjoyed everything we had there and I cant wait to go back again when we return for the next convention.PS. Look at all that beautiful fresh garlic in the dipping sauce. Heavenly!!!
