Tapa Latina - Restaurant in Portimao, Portugal
Nice waiter and the shrimp kebab was great and according to my husband the calamari dishes was fab but keep away of the roe salad! Dry and tasteless roe and the vinegar salad to it would help it even if you mash it Al together! I actually told the waiter to take it of the menu! That’s how bad it was! But otherwise a cosy facility.
I gave a star for the wine. The glasses were really dirty with obvious lip and finger marks. The octopus rice was cooked with parboiled rice and it tasted just gross.
Delicious food.. Great service
We visited the restaurant on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant itself is beautiful and charming and The service was really fast and welcoming. Outside was live music playing which gave a perfect touch to the atmosphere. The food is delicious and perfect for the price. We will be back tomorrow.
Nice garlic prawns and grilled chorizo :)
Excellent staff: really attentive and helpful!Typical Portuguese "petiscos" of good quality/price.
Best place we went to in Portimao - incredible chorizo, probably the best I’ve ever had, flame cooked in front of you. Tapas was all perfect, all incredibly cheap and a perfect serving size (we had about 8-10 dishes every time and we were very full but so satisfied). The lemon and chocolate tart for dessert was amazing too, with cheap beers and wine to boot.
Absolutely amazing! A local from Portimao recommended this restaurant. It was one of the best meals we had in Portugal and one of the best nights we had. Every dish we had was delicious (fried calamari, beef cheeks, shrimp kebab, and mussels). The local wine was fantastic. It was one of the least expensive meals we had during our vacation. The owner is a hoot and the live music made it a perfect evening in Old Town Portimao. I didnt take any pictures of the food , we were too busy enjoying it! Highly recommend.
Best calamari Ive ever had.We had landed only a few hours before so only wanted a small dinner & this place was perfect. Fresh ingredients & local produce. A few fish dishes not available due to them being on "no fishing period" but personally I think thats perfect for a small restaurant to be using fish from small catchers that are following restrictions.Highly recommend!
Great traditional Tapas at non tourist prices.
Very delicious tapas. The fried calamari, sausage and mushrooms, and tuna pie were our favorites. Staff were very friendly and helpful
absolutely loved this place! the waiters were very nice and the food came out super quickly!the camembert cheese with garlic and oregano was great but i wish it was toasted just a little bit more.. the fried squid was really good and the mussels were my absolute favorite part! would easily eat here again and would recommend this place to anyone
Great food and lovely attentive staff. Highly recommended
The staff are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is wonderful and the building is lovely inside- nice rustic charm. The food is excellent - delicious. Would highly recommend.
Good was mediocre. Barely had anything available on their menu. Cash only.
Excellent tapas and lots of choice. Friendly and attentive staff
Excellent service and food quality with very reasonable prices. We enjoyed the evening entertainment and friendly atmosphere. Only awarded four stars because weve been several times and some items on the menu never seem to be available. Otherwise it would have been five stars.
My new favourite place to drop in on short notice, short walk from home, on the riverfront & always accommodating! A simple tapas menu of meats & fish dishes, bread in a brown paper bag and very reasonably priced wine by the glass - be sure to try the bacalhau salad & the squid strips. Wait staff are super friendly and helpful.
Great tapas, friendly servers and fair price. Looks unassuming but worth the wait, if any. favorites of the night : Shrimp kebab, codfish w chickpeas & lemon tarte 🤌🏾
Had lunch here with friends and everything we ordered was good. We had chourico, Algarve style seafood, chicken, and shrimp skewers. Prices are good compared to other tapas restaurants in town.
Amazing food, friendly staff, everything is perfect. I would recommend 10/10.
The food was good in taste (4/5 average). On the photos you can see octopus salad (4/5), BBQ chicken wings (3/5- very small portion and almost only the bones, shrimp kebab (5/5and camembert cheese (4/5- veeery cheesy and sweet. The olives were very good :Dobt forget to order the bread separetely -it was not included.Despite the fact that the food was prepared quite fast, overall the customer service was very bad. The waiter could barely speak english, we had troubles to explain what we would like to get and he coudnt explain how the dish looks like. Also we have been waiting very long for the change - 15mins like.If you are going to eat here with a group, try to choose as many different meals as you can and just split it :Thats my advice
Wonderful tapas. Particularly good Farinheira with mushrooms and great chorizo. The white sangria was really refreshing and not overly sweet.
Lovely tapas bar in the old Town of Portimao. Much variety of tapas available and not heavy on the wallet too! We ordered 5 Tapas dishes and a dessert with wine to go along and were completely full. We ended up paying 27€ which is very reasonable. We also had live music!
Bad service. We had to wait for so long for our order to arrive and there were missing parts!Otherwise food was good
I really like this place for its rustic style and good food, it has reasonable prices for the food for its quality and quantity, its very good. My favourite dish is the shrimp in skewer with a type of sauce it comes with it, as well as their calamares (but they seem to not have it since the last 2 times I went to eat thereTheir bread is also really good and I always ask for a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Definitely a great place to have brunch, lunch or dinner if you prefer.
We were here for lunch. We really enjoyed the food: a mix of seafood and vegetables. Staff has been very attentive. We would definitely come back. Great value for money!
Ok place. I’m sure they had a bad night when we came in later. But we first got a menu in Portuguese and half was wiped out so we couldn’t read it. Waiter no 1.We had to await a friend who understood the menu. They told us that we had 10 minutes to order. Waiter no 2.5 minutes later we ordered. Waiter no 1.One minute after that the manger comes yelling that the kitchen has closed telling us we can’t wait more. ManagerWhen we told him that we already ordered one minute earlier and he said “ahhhh. Ok!”One minute later. Waiter no 1 tells us the kitchen is closed and they only had one tapas. We are later served two tapas of the total 6. Unfortunately we had to buy burger on our way home. Our friends living in Portimão said that they usually are a bit all over...
Amazing food and super convenient prices. Very friendly staff and charming environment (also has a terrace).
- a favourite of mine but last visit.both friend & l agreed meal wasnt up to usual standard-- dont get complaisent !
Thank you google reviewers,we headed for Tapa Latina after reading some of the reviews, absolutely fantastic food @ great prices. If you like tapas & dont mind sitting close to other people than this is a must visit. We ordered mushrooms w/ sausage, prawns, camembert w/ honey & nuts, chicken wings, bread, chorizo. One tasted better than the other, each dish bursting with fantastic flavour. Finished off with a few mojitos & the lemon tart which was stunning, it didnt last on the table long enough to take a photo, its also cash only 🇮🇪💚
Very nice ambiance and staff, but gets a bit to hot inside.the tables are too close to each other,in order to stand from tour chair you have to bother your neighbour...
The food here was amazing, you have to try the chorizo. The owner was so welcoming I ended up revisiting on the last day of my holiday as it was the best food I had in Portimao
We arrived and the waitress was welcoming and sat us down. We were ordering a lot of food and they advised it was too much. The waiter wasn’t so happy or welcoming but we found that the older gentlemen who worked in restaurants tended to be pretty blank but it was ok.Food was full of flavour and very fresh. Prices really good
A common tapas place. Nothing out of the ordinary. Servers were not very helpful. We were not greeted at the restaurant, they just walked past us several times. Our server could not recommend anything from the menu card. So 2 stars since it was edible and not terrible.
Great food and very friendly attentive staff. Also live concerts in the evening time:place worth visiting.
Welcome and table service to slow. Had to ask for a menu, and then took about 10 minutes for the order to be taken. Give them another chance and the same happen. The moelas were good in taste and portion, tiras de lulas fritas good portion but a bit oiled and no taste, they should have come with a dip and not a mustered sachets.
Great Bar with lovely staff, especially Zak who speaks English very well and Angelina the biker chick 😀The food is straightforward tapas and is reasonably priced. The menus are in a number of languages to help you out.If you havent had tapas before its easy to over order, I suggest trying one or two at a time.Had some great times there over the 6 months we spent in Portimao
Lovely place, heaps of locals. Good food for a great price. Would go again
Very nice food ,very welcoming staff ,excellent service and beautiful decor. Reasonable prices . Wifi didnt inquire , male and female separate toilets. Tidy and clean place . Economical ,Highly recommended and must try if you are in the area .
Very nice place. Service on top, polite waitresses. Went there 2 times, favorite tapas a pork cheeks and baby squids
Nice food. We had a variety of different tapas and a daily soup.
Nice little place to indulge in some well prepared tasty tapas. Reasonable prices. Good service.
Tasty, tasty, tasty! Very affordable place - for 50 euros you can try 10 different plates and have a drink and dessert for 2 persons. It’s very popular, there’s a lineup after 8PM, so be patient and wait for the table.
Tasty tapas, big menu, hearty portions and rather affordable; price/quality ratio is incredible. No surprise there are always lineups, make sure you come before 8:30, it gets really busy afterwards. Nice live music too.
Absolutely delicious tapas, local atmosphere and nice place. Friendly and quick customer service. Lemon pie to die for! Absolutely recommend. Food is also very reasonable priced.
Delicious juicy and not so expensive. I fully recommend :)
We were stuffed for 20euros including beers and wine. We didnt speak Portuguese and our waitress didnt speak english, which led to some mis orders, but this meant we tried other delicious dishes we hadnt considered. Great venue and we had live music too
Excellent and very tasty Tapas options. Not expensive and the ham is amazing.Place is very spacious and also serves selection of alkoholic drinks.
The place is in a very nice location, easy to find, the tapas are good and very cheap. There are several options for tapas and you can go and choose on the fridge yourself which is very nive when you are abroad and dont know what are you gonna get. My waiter was very helpful and Id recommend it
