Easygoing hangout open till late, serving all-day breakfast, burgers & overstuffed deli sandwiches.
Food was so good! Service was great!
Tanks. never a disappointment , food was great and filling!
The portions are huge! Service is great and the prices are really reasonable. We had a calzone & a Philly cheese steak. You can get the Philly with provolone or the traditional cheese wiz. It comes with onions and bell peppers but due to a food allergy, no GP for us. Calzone is huge! Put the knife there for comparison.
Nice Brunch experience. The menu is extensive and decently priced. Would love to try the Monster Tank omelette on the next visit for sure .
I’ve been to Tank’s dozens of times over the last twenty years. It’s always been very good. My most recent visit, however, was absolutely fantastic! Food was delicious, service was incredible, and prices were so affordable. You can’t go wrong here.
Super nice and very accommodating, even with a large group that came in after the dinner rush. Their onion dip is still the diggity, served with Mike Sells chips. 😋 prices are still good too. We had 2 huge meals and 3 drinks on my ticket and it was $30.
I love Tanks! They have some of the best wings in the city, and their menu is endless. Even having all day breakfast! I usually get their Broasted Wings with the “Jacked Up Garlic BBQ” sauce. You get a great warm welcome when you arrive and they are quick to make sure you’re doing okay. I didn’t have to ask for my drink to be refilled because the waitress was already ahead of it. That’s something that we all can appreciate.Overall you should definitely check out Tanks and please try out their “Broasted” wings you’re going to love them. 😁
Very disappointed! The only nice thing I can say was the waitress was nice. I ordered breakfast and my companion ordered lunch. The pancakes are HUGE, and very dense, without much flavor. I ordered hashbrowns with onions, and what I got was hashbrown with chopped red onion on the top. Hasbrowns had 0 seasoning. The bacon was good though. My companions fries had 0 seasoning and were warm at best. The food took about 45 mins with half the restaurant full.
Tartar sauce. Its amazing. Staff is friendly. Food is great. Juke box is always playing good music. Did I mention the tartar sauce?......
Great staff and very good food.. 3rd visit still impressed!
I enjoyed their breakfast a lot. The atmosphere was obviously that of a bar and it felt like they shouldnt be carrying breakfast. If you want a good breakfast and bloody mary for a decent price this is your spot. If you want a quiet place to enjoy a brunch, maybe not so much. We had the sweetest waitress!
Tank’s is a great little hole in the wall with delicious food. You could drive by and not realize it, so keep your eyes peeled. Definitely try the biscuits and gravy!
I will NEVER go here again! Our 40th class reunion held a brunch for the class here. It was awful! We walked in to a rude hostess, the place wasnt the cleanest, and the parking was not good. There wasnt enough seats reserved for us and they only said, sorry we cant use the other tables, that stayed empty for the short time I stayed to say goodbye to my classmates. I wouldnt know if the food is good or not because I dont spend my hard earned money on unacceptable services, so I left and ate on the road heading home out of state.
Breakfast was great. The service was great. But the floor was sticky and it just wasnt clean. Would be more stars if it werent for that. Eww
I had a great time with my family. The staff and establishment made me feel right at home. So much food at a great price! Hats off to our waitress. She took care of our party of 15. 🤗
The service was great! Every waitress filled my drink today! How often do you see that? The atmosphere was nostalgic and the crew worked well together ❤️! And the food was out of this world! I definitely got my moneys worth!
Ive been there for breakfast and for dinner. Breakfast took forever to get our food. They are short staffed. When it finally arrived, it was just okay. Not worth the hour wait. Tried dinner and it still took a bit to get our food, but it was delicious. We ordered a calzone and a Reuben. If you have the time to wait, go there for lunch or dinner.
Tanks used to have one of the best breakfasts in town, not any more. My omlette and a buddys omlette were small, cold and had very little of what it was supposed to be stiff with. It was essentially folded, a slice of cheese on top and a sprinkling of the mushroom, spinach and onion. This is not an omlette. They claim to use 3 eggs, but its highly unlikely. The toast came out ice cold too.Im sure this is another covid excuse. And Im also sure the quality has decreased due to the rising prices of their supplies but they could have done so much more to make it edible and enjoyable. On a positive note, their Bloody Marys is still the best in town.
First time visiting. I ordered a five egg omelette and it seemed it was like three. The wait time on food was forever. Our waitress was cool.
I havent been to Tanks for over 2 yrs, I was hungry for some good wings and Tanks always had the best wings in town. I have to say I was very disappointed today. I wil lnot be going back.
I went here because the Tank Burger was rated one of the best burgers in Ohio. It was worth the trip. I intentionally ordered the burger without cheese or other add-ons. Basic Tank Burger with Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayo. It came with fries and a pickle spear. I loved it and will make the hour and 20 minute drive to eat there again. If youre in Dayton, check it out.
Great service. The food was hot. The only complaint I have is that the burger itself had no flavor. All of the other food was great. I especially liked the chip dip served with the chips.
Based on our experience yesterday with the Butter Cafe, we were somewhat hesitant to choose another restaurant off of Google’s best restaurants in Dayton, OH list, but we did any ways. We are so very glad that we did!Tanks breakfast was absolutely delicious! One of the best mimosas I have ever had. The food was fantabulous and the service was awesome! We were very pleased with our visit.
Took a while to get waited on, but everything after was better than expected. Menu had plenty of variety & portions were huge! Will look forward to coming back again 😀
The food is good. But we made reservations for 9:35, and we walked in and the lady told us we just lost our seats. She told us the lady put in as 9:30, and we walked in at 9:33. So you’re telling me you gave our seats away at 9:31? The audacity!
Tanks food and beverages are excellent! Their wait staff and bartenders are attentive, friendly and courteous. Id describe the atmosphere as "Old School" neighborhood bar/restaurant. Suitable for "Family Meals" or "Date Night" dining. Comfy/Cozy with music and sports on multiple TV screens.
First time back since they re-opened post COVID. I came on a Sunday for lunch. Luckily I called first, they are taking reservations at this point. We had to wait an hour for our meals to come. I ordered the roast beef hot shot, which I had in the past. This time, it wasnt really "hot" and the beef was either a lower grade or wasnt cooked properly. The beef tasted more like cheap lunch meat, it was rubbery and had a processed meat texture. Hopefully this is just re-opening blues and once the staff is trained up the food quality will improve. However if the problem is they changed their quality of meat, I wont order this again.
The best omelet I had in a while. One of the few places that serve a great breakfast in Dayton.
Tanks is awesome!!! Great food, good service, fast service, and a clean restaurant. Very large portions, very reasonably priced, especially for the amount and quality of food you get. I highly recommend this place. They also have a very large full service bar.
The food is great. The portions are fair considering most places the cost of the food is going up quickly. The menu selection as well is a good change from other places dropping common menu items due to cost. Im able to get seated quickly whenever I go as Im not too picky on bar vs table vs booth. Love the atmosphere and go here often to avoid spending more money and getting less at fast food chains for breakfest.
Our second visit for my sister-in-laws bday. Went prior to Covid last night we went again. Food was wonderful, I believe our server was Nichol. She was super friendly and personable. Atmosphere was friendly. We will definitely be back sooner than 2 years.
My daughters and I enjoyed lunch Wednesday. The special was meatloaf, it was perfect. That you h of crispy on the bottom. Solid and flavorful. The green beans were awesome. I will order those again. My adult daughters both ordered pancakes and personalized them. Both agreed 1 pancake would have been enough. They ordered 2 and it was way too much.
Great first visitPrices are very reasonable10 egg Monster Deluxe Omelette!
Food is top notch here. Best burgers and biscuits n gravy Ive ever had. Yes. Tried them both lol... And friend had omelet and pancake. So delish!
Ive always had a good time at Tanks. Relaxed dine-in area and great food whether its Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. And youll always leave with a full stomach. Also if you not hungry and just wanna get a drink with your friends thats an option. The moral of the story if havent given them a try you should.
My wife and I ate here for the first time. This is probably the best omelette I have ever had. I had the Deluxe Tank Omelette. My wife had the Biscuits in bulldog gravy. Our waiter, Khaliel was really nice.
Just recently heard Tanks had a great breakfast. We know they have good burgers and decided today was the day to try breakfast. The ambiance is a bar because that’s what it really is. The service was very good.We ordered biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon, as well as Eggs Benedict. The Benedict drew mixed reviews, but seems to at many places due to specific recipes. The rest of the items were all top-notch! We are already talking about when we will have opportunity to return.
Our first time at this restaurant. On a Sunday afternoon the wait looked ridiculous but it really was 5-8 minutes after putting our name in. We sat up the stairs which was nice because we could see the bar and everyone. Loved the plants hanging everywhere. The food portions were stupid huge compared to the small prices. I got the club and could have shared it with someone else. Impressed and will be back.
First time ever to this place. Loved the hanging plants in there. Super laid back. The food was glorious. Honestly didnt know what I was getting into when I ordered. The pancakes are enormous!!!! I really enjoyed all of my food. Waitress was super friendly and accommodating as well.
Second visit to this unique restaurant... this time was less impressive than the first :(Pros:1. Environment is a plus with lots of cool plants throughout.2. Food was a solid 6.5.3. Plenty of beers on tap.Cons:1. VERY slow service in regards to food being cooked/served.2. VERY pricey for portions received.3. NO KIDS MENU NOR KID FRIENDLY PORTIONS AVAILABLE!4. Watch your hamburger meat... I specifically asked for well done (for my toddlerand it was practically still mooing 🤢🤮. The waitress did remove it from the bill ... which still (shockinglymade my total to be over $17 for one person! Plus my kiddo was still hungry...4. Chairs need replaced desperately... they all have very awkward massive gouges taken out showing the awkward orange/yellow foam... nasty and uncomfortable.
What a fun local spot in Dayton! Large portion sizes. Creative menu options. Great atmosphere.
Ive lived in the city my entire life... How did i not know of this place? Ordered from their breakfast menu (served all dayand got the $9.99 meal that included 3 pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns and sausage. The portion size was enough to feed a freakin horse!!
Cozy old school bar with superb food. It was my first time yesterday and I was supremely satisfied. The have the BEST dip Ive ever tasted! Try it! I heard it was a secret family recipe and it was really good! The chicken salad sandwich which Jeff got was good too and I had the porkchop. Service was great. Not sure on other days, but it was pretty packed when we came (it was Sundayso you may have to wait a little to be seated but if you dont mind sitting at the bar (which we didthen its all good. :)
My favorite dive bar. I dont think Ive ever been in for the sole purpose of drinking, I go other places for that. But the food is so perfect late at night, the morning after our for a lunch date. For breakfast/brunch you wont be disappointed with the omelettes. And dont be deceived the "girlie" omelette is normal size. I also enjoy their burgers and fries and recently discovered their desserts are delicious too - some kind of Berry creme brulee was my favorite.
Great food, super big portions, friendly staff, college atmosphere. Pleanty of TVs, kind of small, but it is packed, long wait periods at certain times. Small parking area. Prices are very reasonable.
Great food, fast service. I went on Father’s Day so it was a little busy. Ended up getting the rambler which was enough food for 2 people and only cost $12. Will definitely be back
This is an amazing tavern and family restaurant. The wait was certainly worth it. Onion rings were massive. The deep fried pork cutlet sandwich was amazing, with a crispy breading that was one of the best I have ever eaten. While crowded, even on a Sunday afternoon, this is certainly a place to visit if you are ever in Dayton. Highly recommended!
Great local bar and grille! Has that "divey" feel but better. Nice diverse crowd. The employees were friendly and our Server Q was the best. Breakfast available all day. If you cant find something on their menu you need to go to your local chain restaurant. Food was delicious!! Great beer selection. Full bar. And they have Ms. Pac Man!!!
Great food, prices and service! So glad I decided to stop here for breakfast. Had 1 huge pancake along with sausage gravy and biscuits. The sausage gravy was the best I have had on this side of the Country. I will return here
Great food, wonderful staff nice quite place to eat breakfast. Sandy the bar tender. Is amazing. Very personable and warm. She made me feel as if I were home. Thank you.
