Small, festively decorated cafe serving basic Indian thali plates, plus a lunchtime buffet.
Soo.. I don’t know how this restaurant is called Tandoori when they don’t serve any Tandoori dishes. Anyway, the food was very much like north Indian homemade meal. Enough to fill you but nothing more than that. Also, they don’t serve chapati with the thali.. gotta pay an extra 3 francs for that..
Great value for money! Halal and the owner is very friendly and goes the extra mile.
As we narrowly missed the Mirch Masala buffet (which looks really temptingwe tried this place a couple doors down. It did not disappoint!Generous delectable portions beautifully presented in an authentic steel thali. Enjoyed every morsel.Keep it up guys!
This restaurant do not have Halal certificate
Almost all restaurants calling themselves as Indian are actually Pakistani restaurants.Worst chicken dish ever, the curry has chicken cubes.
Budget friendly lunch and good taste. Remember to take cash they dont accept cards.Almost everything for 11
Almost all restaurants which call themselves "Indian" in Switzerland are actually Pakistani. This is also a Pakistani restaurant. The food is average, service is good and price is reasonable.
Butter chicken is quite tasteless, indeed the price is low for Switzerland, but you get mostly rice and probably indigestion. :)
Worth going here if you are craving for Indian food.
If you are craving Indian food while in Luzern, do visit this place. You get a good amount of food in one thali for just 11CHF. We had the vegetarian thali and the chicken makhani platter, super yummy! 💯
I think this is the most affordable Indian restaurant in whole Switzerland. Food were good … for that price I can’t complain anything. 11 CHF for butter chicken , two veg curry , rice and raita … Wow !!!
Decent food, did not get sick. It is not yhe best indian by far, but at least its cheap by swiss standards
Great budget place. Good value for money. Quick service, friendly staff. However the food was not very hot. And be aware spice level is low compared to UK curry houses.
Lovely Food. Totally worth going.
Delicious indian food with best price and their mango lassi was awesome, must try restaurant in Luzern
The food was really good and large portions. Loved it
Visited this place 2 days back for take away. We have really bad experience. The taste quantity is very less. We ordered chicken curry thali and it was worst thaali. They also gave veg curry in the thaali which was really what we asked. They use low quality plates for parcel, before we reach home everything was mixed. Waste of money.
Cheapest restaurant in Luzern!!!! 10chf plate. No frills but decent for what you pay. Great naan
This is good place to have some traditional Indian and Pakisthani food in terms of Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian. Prices are ok, test is ok too. Good to visit if you are Asian food lover.
The guy is from Afghanistan, more option for non-vegetarian. Only plate thali available. Value for money, In case of urgent can be visitable. Only cash accepted. Ambience is not that great.
This place literally saved us from slipping into homesickness. My wife and I were anxious to eat some Indian food as we were on long Europe tour. Its inexpensive with good Indian thali. You wont go wrong with either a vegetarian or non-veg meal. Recommended
Tandoori is open 24/7 mostly as per the afghani person hosting the place. The daal and chicken curri was good. Nothing exceptional but glad i found something halal to eat that tasted reasonably native to home. Would reccomend. Staff was polite.
This place serves set menu (thali style). You get sabji, chicken gravy (dhal for vegetarians), rice & dahi for CHF. 12 for a plate. Taste could be a little better. They accept only cash though.
Very fair price for all students and delicious food. The place itself sadly looks a bit run down and could use some restoration. Theres not too much room so its better to go in smaller groups.
Was craving for Indian food. Found this place by roaming around a little. Turned out to be a good place to have a Thali and surprisingly was Halal. It was good and filling. Was thinking of a buffet which I was told by many but then overeating food sometimes does not agree with many especially when travelling. ABOVE ALL A CLEAN PLACE. MOST IMPORTANT, pls carry cash as card not accepted.Overall for around CHF 12. a highly recommended place to eat
Legendary review:1. Value for money; good location; decent quality.2. Better to pay in Francs since they do 1:1 Euro conversion.3. WC: yes! Doesn’t accept card.4. Limited buffet plate.
Cheap Indian eat in expensive Lucerne, different types of thalis, average price 12 chf, Ive ordered a chicken spicy plate, which is not spicy at all for an Indian, but I enjoyed the meal, it was fine, and fish curry plate was really tasty. Garlic naan 7ch. Meal for two wit soft drinks around 40ch. (3700inrexpensive but still cheapest in Lucerne. *Only cash is accepted* its a real shame in modern Switzerland. Please get yourself a machine and make it more comfortable for customers.
Nice place for a quick Indian thali. The prices are reasonable as compared to Lucerne and Swiss standards. The food preparation was quite simple and delicious. The portions were just about sufficient. Whether you order a full thali or just daal rice, the price is fixed - CHF12. The thali is fixed with just a single serving. The place is open till around 2130 in the evening. Next doors is another Indian restaurant but a much more expensive affair.
When you are away from your home for about more than 2 weeks and you hardly get any Indian cuisine at reasonable rate, you crave for the dal chawal and while walking down the streets you stop by a place from where you get the smell of indian spices, thats the feeling you will have when youre in lucerne and you pass by this restaurant. I love the food and it is truly value for money. Please try mango lassi you will love it for no reason.
Very nice Indian food... A welcome respite in Switzerland for people craving for Desi dishes! Amazing as their simple daal tadka is, you can imagine how their other preparations must be!
One vegetarian plate here. All plates are 12CHF. It is very cheap in Lucerne. Yet, its taste is very plain to me. The same Indian food in Hamburg and Frankfurt main train stations taste much better than here. Their sauce has better taste.
Food was bad. Just straight plain old fashioned bad. The chicken was the blandest chicken Ive ever had. The raita was plain awful. The vegetable was ok but kind of oily. And the worst was the pricing system. 12 francs a plate which doesnt sound half bad u til you consider that for about half the price you could get a better meal at a Burger King. And they only accept cash, no USD allowed. Most un-tourist friendly place I saw in all of Europe. Just sucked.
This is one of the restaurants that I want to go again in Swiss. It tasted so good and the with super high CP. Highly recommend.
This is a Indian restaurant serving veg and non-veg food .word of caution this is a very very small place cannot accommodate more than 20 people at a time. The price for dall and two chapatis about 12 francsWaiting time is more than 1 hourFood is also very very spicy
Thali System. 2 curry, Daal, Rice and a Giant chapati costs 15 CHF. Taste wise very good. Friendly waiter. Good thing is its only Indian restaurent open from 11.30 am to 10.30 pm. Rest all close between 2.30-5.30 pm.
The food was good. The quality and quantity offered was very good for the price. Worth a visit if you are looking for cheap and a fulfilling meal.
For a quick and cheap bite this place hits the mark. Service was very friendly and the food was good, but nothing too spectacular. We tried both the butter chicken and chicken curry which could have used more heat in my opinion. Overall a good place to grab something different while in Lucern.
1- Usually Thali should include naan/bread. I asked for bread then they charged me 3Fr for 1 naan, whilst all meal costed 10Fr.2 - the rice was not good..no taste at all.(3- the vegs were overcookedSorry guys..This place could do better.I was disapointed..
Good indian food, 10 CHF for 1 platter so price is very reasonable given the amount of food you get. I wouldnt say its the best indian food Ive had but it gets the job done. You can get piping hot chapatis to go along with your food. The interior could use some improvement but the indian music in the background is quite soothing. My only complaint is that they dont take card, also if you pay with Euros you get the same price so you have to pay the same amount in Euros, no exchange rate at all.
Good Indian food for very affordable price. When compared to prices of other restaurants in Lucerne. The team served us quickly, freshly made food. Do give it a try if you are hungry and want a quick bite. The ambiance is more of a cafeteria ,but when you look price its justified :)
I didnt like.. Neither restaurant nor its food. The interior of restaurant is suggested to improve further.. Although the owner tried to give their best in interiors, but the cost cutting by them can be easily seen inside. It looks cheap. This same things can even give a better look to this restaurant. Next the food, i didnt like the food.
Very nice indian food. Best price and good portion. Lamb plate was just amazing. Best economical option in town. Would love to visit again if time permits to try other curries.
Spicy and delicious thali.. Veg and non veg both available for each 10 chf.. Quantity is very good... Cheap indian home made food in restaurant... Loved it so much... The owner is serious business but courteous...
Cheap (10chf), variety of little dishes (Thali), could use more flavour. Catered to western taste.
Love this place. You have grand plate with authentic Indian food in 10CHF. Rice and curry. I ordered spicy chicken which was served with 2 other vegetarian dish. After experiencing few horrible experiences with cost and taste of food, we find this place fulfilling all our need.Food taste was amazing. For those who love extra hot, there is special sauce. You can order rumali roti with extra cost of 3CHF.Service was too good.Kudos to chef and staff.
After struggling with food options since landing in Switzerland, this restaurant was an absolute delight! Anyone craving for Indian food should must visit. The thali offers very good quanity in terms of rice and side dishes. Highly recommended!
Pros :1. Food Price Quantity ratio perfect2. Good location (near to Chapel bridge)3. Quick n Customer friendly service4. Veg Thali (platerecommendedCons:1. Quality and taste of Chicken plate was not goodBeware:No card payment
Its the best and economical option for Indian food lovers at Lucerne. Just 10Fr. for the Indian thali. Food Quality, Quantity and taste are apt to satisfy your hunger and taste bud. In veg thali they serve 2 vegetables, raita, dal, lots of rice, mirchi ki chutni and pickle on demand(free).
It maybe cheap, but taste of food it bad. Took rumali rooti and it was very chewy. Could not even finish it off. Would not recommend if you really like indian food. But if you just want to fill your tummy with cheap food then this is right choice. And one more thing they dont accept cards, which I felt very strange in tourists spot.
Awesome price quality option in Lucerne. CHF 10 only per dish, and very tasty!!
