Tall Chief Cove Campground - Campsite in Claremore, United States
Kids love coming here to camp, fish, swim. Real fun great place to bring the family!
No answer when calling and gates were locked
Another very nice COE campground, with normal items at campsites There was 30/50 amps available with shared water spickets. Some sites by the water are larger with nice concrete area with asphalt pads. I saw several with 5th wheel or class A rigs. There are 3 Loops, we were in Loop A, site #7. There was day use/swimming area, but it was closed at this time; and a boat ramp available. Tulsa is close by; Route 66; and Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore. I would recommend a visit.
Nice campground, the new and improved sites are great, the older sites are just ok.
Went there to look at camp sites they r nice
Fantastic place, nice spots right next to the water. Super nice beach for kids. Only $11.00 for Senior pass.
Peaceful, well kept grounds.
Very nice camping. Located just South West of the Dam.Most of the year water is clear. Boat ramp. Swimming beach. This is very popular and very hard to reserve a camp site. Been wanting to camp here for years. Finally got a campsite. It has a fire pit and a grill on a poll. Well keep. Nice shower facility. The water hookups are shared, so bring plenty of hose and a Y.
The facilities were very clean and maintained. There is a lot for children to do, playground, volleyball, and other games. The area is big enough to go looking for BigFoot, through the woods, if you are 4 years old. My Grandson loved it. The trailer pads have been extended. The grid had everything full until the last minute then there must have been a cancellation, so I got in, so check at the last minute for openings.
Great for camping or a cookout walking
Nice access to the water. Water hookups are barely possible to use. Poor access to RV utilities. No dumpsters. Wont be returning with our RV
Nice place I didnt see much but probably one best in state nice swimming area and great fishing .😎
Camp sites were nice with added shelters. Facilities seemed clean.
Beautiful lake, the Rangers are friendly and helpful.
Does anyone know IF we can check in before 6 pm? I have called the number provided and no one answers the phone. That is a very late check in, considering we have to pay for the day. It doesn’t give time to get set up and even cook supper.
Quiet, clean, very organized place for families.
Super clean and well maintained campgrounds for RV and tent campers. The bathrooms are the cleanest I’ve seen at any similar facility. The patrons staying here are nice folks who keep to themselves for the most part. Nice place for a weekend just call to reserve beforehand.
This is a great campground. Plan on reserving ahead for Friday thru Sunday. If its open Sunday thru Thursday its often listed as walkup. Other than those days there arent any first come sites. Plenty of nearby water spickets. This lake has very clear water in most places. Beautiful. Some sites are pretty short. Some are large. Do some research if you have a large camper. Swim beach is closed, maybe until warmer weather. Clean and handicap accessible bathrooms and showers.
We came up for one night and really enjoyed our visit. Really nice area, nice restrooms. Theres a good store called Bettys Country Store close by where we got breakfast. We will be coming up again!
Site number 9 is right on the water and has a great view!
I like to have picnics with my son out here bc its not so peopley. 😁
The only way to get a campsite now is to book at least 2 weeks in advance online, it is strictly online.... however if you are fine with primitive campsites you can go to Bull Creek peninsula.
Canning spaces in A are nice, nicer RVs usually here. Loop B - spaces a spaced apart well. Good for pulling up in your boat. Loop c is more for just boaters and little shade.
I found it to be pretty trashy....rules need to be enforced and tickets given for lettering in a state park. Just saying.
It has been a couple of years since weve been here and apparently things have changed. If you want a quiet place to camp then dont come here. Used to be guests needed to leave by 10 pm and quiet hours were 10 pm to 6 am. Guess that is not the case anymore. People leaving at 1 and 2 in the morning starting their loud trucks. Neighbors outside at 12 to 1 in the morning letting their children yell and scream. This happened all 3 nights we where here. Says on the website max vehicle is 3 we saw 6 at on site overnight. The camp is still well maintained and some site are shaded.
Great Camping Area Friendliest People
Very well kept by the rangers. Sites are level and shaded. Water is excellent (no hard water). The bathroom/Shower facilities are clean and in good repair. This was an excellent week we spent here.
Very nice gate attendants, beautiful camp area! Will definitely be back!!
Lovely campground. Right on the water. Folks keep to themselves. Beautiful. Sites depend on your neighbors to be mindful to be enjoyable. Electric only.
We had great time host was great to work with large park very nice place with full hook up 50 amp would stay again
It is so clean and beautiful I just want to live here.
We love this campground, but it is always booked and hard to get a campsite. Definitely reserve in advance. Overall super nice.
I stayed four days and it was very peaceful! The camper was snuggled into a tree covered very shady space.THe bath house was kept very clean and stocked with paper, soap at all times. I would definitely recommend this camp sight as family-friendly!
Me and my wife love it here. Its a great place to have FUN and Camp.
Right on the lake. Decent enough sites with some room in between each site. Water is shared between several campsites which can be a bummer when your neighbor’s hose is leaking to beat the band..... A real gusher if you ask me. Entrance shack staff very kind and helpful. Dont you be driving the wrong way through the spike strip!
One of our favorites. Its clean & well kept. The showers/ restrooms are convenient & clean. The hosts are friendly, & the neighbors are quiet when they are supposed to be.
The handicap site was a ways from the lake and not well marked as handicapped. However, the site was easy to navigate for someone with limited mobility. The park was clean and well kept. The park attendants were friendly and very helpful with directions. They provided campground maps.
Been our favorite camp spot for years!
Absolutely stunning place to park! There is only electric and water. There is also a 2-week limit. I enjoyed kayaking and the overall beautiful scenery.
Wonderful attendant at check-in was very kind and we really had a great time!
We love it,need more camp sites!
Its beautiful nice fishing and good swimming
1 star is generous. The staff was incredibly rude. A staff member harrassed us consistently during our stay. We will not be returning.
The man working the entry is awful. He is unprofessional and mean. He harassed us all evening and cussed out my friend. We will never go back here. Terrible service.
Always trying to have a good time with my friends, but every time we go we’re constantly getting harassed by an elderly man who works there. It’s a great lake to swim and fish at, but I wouldn’t recommend camping there. He has a really bad temper for no reason. My friend took a wrong turn on a 1 way street it was an honest mistake and he told her to “Get the hell out of my campsite” and said “Are you f***ing blind then proceeded to turn his vehicle so she couldn’t even get back in to rent a campsite. It’s really not a great way to get people to come back with such a toxic person working there. I’m not the only person to experience this as the lady we camped by had the same problem with him too just because she “camped there too often?” It’s ridiculous.
Very clean facilities. The park was quiet during the night and very friendly guests during the day. We will definitely be coming back.
Great campsites with spacing. Two to three bars Internet. No TV. Nice showers and bathrooms. Looks like a good fishing lake. Showers are cold. Killed two recluse spiders: need to be sprayed with Miss Muffets Revenge.
The camp host was very helpful and friendly. The park was clean and well kept. Our stay was great.
I had a wonderful week long stay at Tall Chief Cove. The campground was clean and well kept. The gate keepers were nice and made rounds every few hours to check on things. During the week it was very quiet and on the weekend almost every campsite was full and lots of kids running around. If you book site C53, bring at least 100ft of water hose (100ft was stretched pretty tight), or fill up your holding tank before you come.
Our normal fall camp out plans were changed, so we decided for a couple nights at Tall Chief. We had a great time. We really enjoyed it. It had been many years since Id camped there.
