Takenaka Sushi in Halmstad

Cozy atmosphere, but sushi was just so-so. We ordered the mixed sushi, 30 pieces. The quality of the individual pieces varied greatly from fairly good to well below average. The shrimp tempura was limp and not at all crispy, although the flavor was good. We also question the decision to add egg to some of the sushi rolls, as it felt almost breakfast-like. Overall, acceptable considering the size of the town.

Best sushi I have had in Sweden!

Resturant didnt look much, but great service and food! Fast to table and food was delicious! I ate bento box and curry bowl. Great taste and flavours, felt like i was tasting homemade traditional japanese food. :D would be back again for sure!

Mycket trevlig personal.Ett måste för den som är nyfiken på japanska mat eller redan är inbiten entusiast.Topp 3 av de japanska restauranger jag testat söder om Göteborg, och många är testade 😉

We went to try the sushi and Ramen according to the high reviews, but it is not as good as expected.The ramen has too much white pepper taste, the soup is not so tasty;and sushi rice was over cooked.

A place I trust.. Fresh fish. Good Sushi. Have been there many times, never disappointed. Cosy place w room upstairs as well. Small but cosy place. And the owner is Japanese. Friendly service.

Best Japanese food you can get in Sweden. The staff were very kind and thoughtful. The chef made amazing Japanese style curry and three superb sushi pieces that I got in addition to the main course.The taste really took me back to when I was in Japan in 2019. A must visit place if you enjoy Japanese cousine!

Im pretty picky after seven years living in Japan, but this is great sushi - add the very friendly and service-minded staff and cozy atmosphere and youve got a place thats easily worth a trip to Halmstad (at least if youre somewhere remotely close like... anywhere in Europe?)

Best sushi outside of Japan I have had!!!The atmosphere is also really cozy, especially the little seating area in the back. If you enjoy all things Japanese or know what Sushi is really about, you will quite quickly get the sense that this place is true authentic Japanese cuisine made with passion. The only sad thing is that certain reviews of this place dont give it the credit it deserves. Dont pay the one-liner low star reviews of this place any attention, they are the same people who think Sushi is better the bigger it is, or that every meal should somehow have bearnaise sauce all over it.

Halmstads own authentic sushi brought to you by a Japanese chef. Unlike many other "sushi" places in Sweden where the food is prepared by non-Japanese Asians, which often only offer you salmon, below-average-quality tuna, cooked tiger shrimp and avocado on top of a large chunk of rice, this place offers many unusual (but extremely tastyoptions of sushi that you would not find else where in Sweden. I was very impressed to find torched langoustine and akagai on display. Sure that it is a bit more pricey than the cheap Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai sushi but it is worth every extra krona. It is definitely the best sushi experience Ive had in Sweden. I have paid way more for sushi in Stockholm and Copenhagen and the quality was not even close to Takenakas sushi.

It was okay, better than most sushi places around here, but nothing compared with the sushi you can get in other countries. The seats are worn out and you do not get the experience as you would in restaurants with similar prices.

This place has a great potential - legit japanese sushi prepared by a japanese chef. However, it is absolutely not acceptable to serve unfresh salmon in a country where the top quality fish is easily available.

Fantastic tasting, manually made, authentic sushi. We travelled to Japan last year, and this Halmstad Sushi Kitchen produced food as good, if not better than we experienced in Tokyo. We sat at the bar and ate, we didnt get to see the rest of the place but it was very well furnished and clean. Will definitely eat here again.....soon!

I ordered the chefs selection 14 pcs sushi and it was delicious!When I searched restaurants in Halmstad the high rating caught my eye. I love sushi and had to test it out.Rice was perfect, the fish of high quality and the compositions superb.I sat in the small, but cozy, outside area.The staff was friendly and helpful.

One of the best sushiplaces in town (and probably in sweden). It is obvious that the sushichef put a lot of love and effort into crafting the food.

Run by a chef who grew up in Japan, its by far the best sushi in halmstad. However, the rice they are using is regular cheap rice, not the real Japanese rice they are supposed to use.Also the staff they hired arent providing a good service
