Taj Mahal Indian & Pakistani Restaurant in Apia

Found this little gem by accident while staying nearby, was a little sceptical as we approached but once inside we were greeted by friendly staff, clean and tidy including toilets, nice menu. As two fussy curry eaters the food was very good both dishes were delicious. If it was near to were I live I would definitely frequent this place. Also a big plus was the price, expecting it to be alot more expensive but same price as my local in the North.

Bad service, waiters unkind and unmotivated. Beer was warm. Colas warm and had no gas. Food so-so. The staff hates their job and are ultra unfriendly. No music, no atmosphere and place a little warn out. Don’t lose your time.

Worst..please dont mention it as indian restaurant. We search for Indian food to get the flavor and taste..please dont tell biriyani..give some other name to that. I ordered chicken biryani no taste no salt just color rice with oil. Even veg gravy also no salt..worst experience..

Was told our food would arrive in an hour on the phone we called after an hour to be told the driver left ten minutes ago. Bear in mind we are 8 minutes away. Half an hour later food arrived warm-ish mixed grill underwhelming.

What an unassuming, hidden little gem.... This place isnt somewhere you would generally drive past, or even be tempted to try if you did.... But you would be missing out, very good food, the starter was really nice, and the tandoori meats had an exceptional flavour.... The courses where not too large (a good thing meaning you can enjoy a decent starter as well)The mains were really good, I actually preferred my Wifes dish (Garlic Chilli Chicken), but mine was pretty good too (Chicken Dansak), just not quite the best I have ever had)The service was fabulous, though we were the only customers this night, but felt like nothing was too much to ask and the guy was really friendly and attentive with out becoming imposing.If you are ever in the area, maybe before flying out from Heathrow, I would certainly recommend this place and will definitely go back the next time we are passing.

Yet another great meal, really, really pleased with the consistency of flavour and taste, cannot recommend this resturant / take away enough, would not consider going anywhere else for a local takeaway, 5 star again

Please don’t order from here absolutely disgusting everything tasted the same ordered garlic nan not even a slice of garlic in it 2 curry rice and bits 30 pounds wasted

We ordered mixed grill and biryanis as a takeaway first we wait for almost 20mintues to order the food and then have to wait more than half an hour for to get the food, finally got the food and got very disappointed according to we paid the food wasn’t enough and Smell was coming from the mixed grill and its frozen, biryanis not tasty too. Not happy at all, I don’t go again and never perfect any one either cos our tummy got upset.😡

Omg really high quality food I dont think so ,got a take away for the first time ,mixed grill frozen and smell from chicken , the special Biryani is so so bad ,had family from Charlton here and what a disappointing meal ,never will eat there food again ,also they need to get there act together by not one person doing everything waiting time to long but worst of it all was food so bad and to much money ,the place is a real thrn of its 0 star u cant post without star

Worst food, water served in stained unclean glasses. Been there 1st time, by all means I shoud have checked their Food Hygiene Rating which is 1.I usually do that, but missed this time. Service was ok, basically a small place. Wont recommend. Cant say about takeaway as we are not locals and stopped there as we were put up in a hotel nearby.

Thought id order my indian food from a different place tonight and i was dissapointed. i ordered at night and the papadom was so stale i couldnt eat it, its obvious its been out for a long time. The potatoes i ordered were nice i have to say but the chicken korma was not hot, very cooled down that i had to microwave it, also surprised the main courses do not come with rice?? Unusual. its not served with anything. When i called, the person did not seem to care or help and ended the call with "thankyou very much bye" Shame i really wanted to like this place but i wont order again.

Always a friendly welcome and great food..it must be good for me to visit everytime i am over from the Isle of Wight! One of the consistantly best Indian restaurants

Great service poor curry.Stayed at the Holiday Inn round the corner and tried this place as an alternative to eating in the overpriced hotel restaurant.The service was 1st class and the prices were very reasonable, but my Lamb Buna tasted more like an Indian Stew. Not like a curry at all. Im no hot curry fan but theirs had absolutely zero heat. Ive never tried a Vindaloo but Im guessing theirs would be on a par with other peoples Korma.Shame because apart from that it was ok.

Rang up for a takeaway collection to be told it would be at least one hour! When I arrived I was surprised to see the restaurant was empty bar one couple. They mixed up my order and I left with the wrong takeaway entirely. They agreed to drop it off, by which point it was stone cold. Food was bland and uninspiring, very few fresh ingredients and much meat. The are some superb Indian restaurants in this area. This isn’t one of them so steer clear.FYI: Historic images on here show a bright and clean looking restaurant with crisp tablecloths and appetising well presented food. None of those things were on offer when I visited so it looks like the business has changed hands and it’s been run down

This is our usual Indian restaurant and we have enjoyed countless delicious meals at this restaurant. However, this evening’s meal was tasteless and very disappointing. It wasn’t just one dish either. Each dish tasted stale and without much taste. Such a shame.

Some of the best Indian food Ive ever had- not that Ive every been to India. We loved the lamb jalfrezi. Everything was very fresh, flavorful, and beautifully spiced.

Visited on Friday eve, not overly busy, friendly staff, menu has a good variety, prices average.Nice cold pint of cobra. The food was very tasty, and we enjoyed. Well worth a visit.

Service was medicore the waitress continuosly kept coming to are table to ask if we was okay. Food was appalling the butter chicken which I ordered was not how it is supposed to be it was far too sweet and creamy. Music was depressing and did not help the atmosphere.

I called immediately once the driver left to tell them my Cheese Nann is hard like it was made this morning and its not edible. They agreed to bring my Nann after I said I wanted it with the meal I paid for tonight. They didnt bring my nann and didnt contact me to let me know.I had to call them back to find out whats happening, they tried refusing my request for my money back for failing to give me my food. They gave excuse that we wouldnt be able to bring it round because there busy on a Thursday night. When explaining how displeased I am as we have ordered there for the past two and half years they just hung up.

Mixed. Chicken jalfrezi was excellent, but the lamb dish we ordered let the place down.

We have used the Taj Mahal many times before and have loved it. We were surprised when the curry we ordered tonight was not up to its usual high standard but a quick phone call later and a replacement meal arrived on our doorstep (and met/exceeded our expectations).Fabulous food and exemplary customer service!!!!
