Taj Mahal - Indian restaurant in Cascais, Portugal
The food was amazing. I have been to many European countries and tried many Indian restaurants, this is one of the closest which has still kept the Indian flavours entact.. If you are in Cascias you can give a try to the food here.. We were late but I think there was some discount during the noon hours!! ( not sure about this as we were there around 4:30pm )..Talking about the service it was good, well served, well presented but the guy who communicated lacked smile on him, maybe he had a bad day or something but you are reading this keep smiling :)
Pathetic and stinking starters ... warm draught beer.. tasteless main course.. no value for money...
Food was delicious and ambiance was great. Specially the prawn soup and mutton biryani. Lasagna was not bad. One less star cause the attendant wasn’t friendly and didn’t wanna suggest anything when asked just said look at the menu. He could be better trained.
Chicken biryani was not spicy at all. I had pretty low expectations, but it was still subpar. Chicken was dry and I didn’t taste any appropriate level of spices in the rice. Maybe the italian dishes are better.
Biriyani was not authentic, i expected something authentic there.
Fabulous meal and lovely staff.
Delicately flavoured food, served promptly with kind and attentive waiters. The price was very reasonable too.
We came for dinner then again for lunch. Everything was fantastic expect the Korma was way too sweet. Fantastic Indian food in a great location. Fair prices. Would come back here again!
Food was average… quantity = just enough. If you ate bread / Naan. Their service was below average… food brought out without the heating underneath. Medium spicy was totally not spicy. Slow service. Asked for the bill. Nothing happened. Mango lassi was minimal in size.Price ?? 6 EUR more and one could have had Portuguese seafood rice WITH LOBSTER.Not worth it. Unless you are stuck. Then go to MacDonalds next door. Better value for money
Food and location is very good but the staffs were very arrogant and their mentality is that they are doing a favour by serving food.
Amazing! Huge choice, authentic food, the service was good and fast. Had some very good vegetarian options too.And if anyone doesnt fancy Indian food, apparently the Italian food options were really good too, though I didnt try and cant judge :)Also its a very good location and youre likely to hear some live music if youre there in the evening
Cheap but delicious food, waiters are very friendly and the food came really fast. I recommend it!
Today I came for lunch with my wife. We had an amazing experience. Butter Chicken and Naan was delicious and so was the Chicken Korma and Roti. Hardeep was our server and gave us great service.
Do NOT recommend.. I didn’t even got to taste the food but the staff ? Not a good one for sure , not a place to stay
I ordered Chicken Biryani and mix platter. although mix platter was alright but chicken biryani Was not very pleasent. Chicken biryani was tastless and seems to me like you put rice in chicken curry and send.
Good food, good service and friendly stuff.I can recommend this place for a tasty meal.
There was a group of 9 of us came in and the servers took a while to get going, they seemed a little short staffed at first but we were fairly early in the evening at around 4.30pm so maybe caught them off guard. The food itself when it got there was hearty and very tasty, absolutely no complaints there. Also a good beer selection for the area. Unfortunately nobody at the table tried the curry pasta, but they have curry pasta! A very extensive menu but always best to stick with the curries in my opinion. Reasonably priced and a good option to have in Cascais.
This was some of the tasting Indian cuisine I have ever had the pleasure of trying. The service was top notch and friendly. The restaurant was really busy when I arrived and I was as important as everyone else. The place was extreme clean and made me feel welcomed. Thank you for your hospitality.
Seriously dont like the service. They exchange our order but at last they charged for my order..
Varied menu at good prices. Quick and efficient service. Delicious meals.
Nice place with a great variety of indian dishes. Prices are good too. 100% recommendable.
If you are a regular diner at Indian Restaurants in the UK or even India, you will be sadly disappointed with the food. Ordered Chicken tikka masala and Butter Chicken. Both dishes tasted the same and the chicken was off putting as it looks like they use every inch of the chicken when cutting it up. The starters onion bhaji and meat samosa left a lot to be desired. The onion bhaji was flat and thin and the meat samosa contained what can only be described as a cross between scrambled egg and plaster of paris. If you like authentic indian, try somewhere else.
The food was really delicious, portions were an ideal size where you could finish them and the service was friendly but left you to it.We are from Glasgow and are spoiled for Indian restaurants at home so was totally delighted to find somewhere so good in Cascais. We shared the starter platter, tried garlic and perswari naan with jeera rice.Curries we had everything from dahl mahkni, chicken korma, butter chicken to South Indian garlic chicken and seafood specials. Everything was really tasty.
Very delicious food
Not expensive but very tasty food, suitable for vegetarians. Polite personnel and quick service
Yeah it was okStaff friendly in old town good location
Good place for Indian food, try the Peshavari Naan
Our group had two enjoyable meals in the restaurant, however we ordered a take away on our last night and it was very poor. This reflects badly on the restaurant and I would be reluctant to eat there again on my next stay in cascais.
Great restaurant, great food and the staff is very friendly. I ate a platter for two which was delicious. And they have menu for kids also. 5*
Bad service, racist waiter, oil dripping pakoras (fritters).
Great Indian food! Really friendly and attentive staff. Very reasonable prices too!
Its OK but not all the dishes are good. Service was very professional and good.
I was really disappointed with kadhai paneer. The paneer and vegetable was thrown in to the tomato purée and served. The kadhai paneer is all about it’s magical masala which includes snauf, cumin, black pepper, clove, cardamon etc are first roasted and blend. The taste of kadhai paneer was soury instead of spicy because of not used proper spices.
It was really good. I liked the food and staff. Prices are moderate.Let’s say a moderate restaurant with a good design in a perfect location.
The food was bad, the tomato soup was disgusting. The wine was bad. The restaurant smelled bad, like sewer. The price was too high for the quality. The ambience was a bit awkward and not relaxing.
Food was good but a little sweeter than other Indian places. Lunch discount is nice.
Really tasty food! Prices are also good
This was a fantastic find. Great quality, authentic Indian food. Great service and very friendly. Value for money canbr faulted and a wide menu. Very convenient for access from the train station too
Love coming to this restaurant in my hometown. We went for the indian menu and tried several dishes and all was pristine with reasonable prices considering the location. The staff were superb and I highly recommend if you fancy some indian food! Wish I had some pictures but i was so hungry I took no time digging in!
Very proper Indian cousine. Had amazing chicken mango. The food was just delicious. I was a bit sceptical about prices as the restaurant was at the main road but they were totally reasonable. Moreover we found out there was a 20 % discount on food during the lunch time (12-16). Thumbs up. Give it a go.
Delicious food, good ambiance, friendly serving staff... Really enjoy our random visit
Wonderful. This food is really lovely. Not greasy as some Indian food can be. They use things like finely sliced ginger to enhance some of the dishes and they are not sparing with the vegetables. Not expensive. We would thoroughly recommend trying this friendly restaurant.
The Prawn Korma was good, but a bit too sweet. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very good. The staff was friendly.
Food was great. I come from South Africa and we have a few share of Northern Indian restaurants. This was one of the best Indian food meals I have had. To get all our meals spot on (10 meals in totalis pretty good. We had 4 two year olds and the staff were very friendly towards them.
Delicious food and fantastic service. All the traditional dishes served and more. The staff were very friendly, attentive and great with the kids.TIP : if from the UK order a level of spice above what you normally have.
Rating it as an Indian. Overall the food tastes good. The soup was a little sour, can be improved. Rice has to be boiled a bit more and softer. Chicken tikka was spicy and good. It serves for 2. It was more for one person. The overall cost is above average I would say. But good for occasional visit. Good work guys. Keep improving. Take feedback from customers.
Indian food at its best. Friendly staff but it has to be said the food here is so goooood😀👍
Very good food.Quick service.Nice prices.
Excellent food and friendly service. Cosy seating, warm ambience.
If you can put aside that its in the centre of the tourist area this is a great place to eat; the food is delicious and staff are friendly.
