No. 30號, Section 2, Xinguang Road, Wenshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 11656, Huilong
Large indoor-outdoor zoo in a scenic setting with a children’s area, gondola & shuttle train.
Easy to get to and near the MRT station. Cost us 60NT to get it with concession for our kids..lotsa animals to see and insects, snakes reptiles etc...definitely worth a visit but be ready for long walks...the good thing is there are convenient stores within the zoo so no worries about food and drinks.. jus come ready to snap photos and enjoy!
Lovely place. Its busy and the animals seems to be in good enclosures. Entry fee was around 2 USD per foreigner. Or 60 TWD. Park is kid friendly and informative with information in Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese, and English.
Great place to spend a whole day for families.
No, its not monotonous. Its vast and huge field with well arranged sections for the curious to learn and enjoy different species. Dont miss it thinking it is yet another zoo. The location is well connected through metro from the city. Beautiful walkway, friendly for carrying children around.
Very beautiful and organised zoo.It is huge and one should visit it in the morning only to make sure it is explored properly. We went there late so were unable to visit each and every corner. It has different areas for different animals of various regions. The ticket is also affordable. There are multiple food courts in the zoo, so no need to worry about carrying food and water.
One of the biggest zoo in Asia. Lots of waking so be prepared. There are drinking station suggest bring your water bottle. Food stores are also convenient
One of the best zoo I Ve ever visited.
The photo just about sums it up. Its like taking a long walk through hell. Sea of people, torturous heat and a bunch of depressed looking animals. 60 NTD is too much.
Very kids friendly zoo with clear map of animals from different areas. Very cheap at 60 twd per adult ticket. The only downside is not a lot of food trucks are open, the McDonald is most popular (near entrance )and took us an hour to queue up and find table for lunch at 1pm.
Very cost down entry, only $60. Have many aminals including trees and flowering pantaloons. Have plenty of food for every, even rhinoceros horse, haha. Excellent
The Taipei Zoo is one of the ten largest municipal zoos in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia, thats why Im happy to visit this place with my friends. More exotic animals are found here inside the TAIWAN ZOO. I cant see PANDAS and ELEPHANTS thats the one I wanted to see here. But the PENGUINS and Bears are present here.
Great zoo! Lots of animals, great price, and easily accessible by public transportation. Conveniently, MRT cards can be used to enter so no need to wait in the ticket line.
Huge zoo, fun to walk around, 5ntd to ride on the shuttle bus inside, recommendBut maybe it was too hot, many animals were hiding and out of sight
There are a lot of animals at this Zoo, and it is beautifully landscaped. Ticket prices for this large Zoo are surprisingly low. Be sure to book your tickets online before heading to the Zoo.Throughout the Zoo were excellent exhibitions both indoors and outdoors. A day isnt enough to explore all of the areas, however. You can always come back again to explore more of the Zoo. Get to know cute animals and plants while youre here.
Amazing!! The pandas were sooooo cuuuuuuute, it was such a huge place and I spent the whole day there and even then didnt have time to look at all the animals, definitely would recommend this place to anyone who loves animals ❤️❤️❤️
What a great place for everyone to visit. The animals are so well cared for and there’s just so much to see and so much to learn. One thing though is that I wish they would really enforce the no smoking policy. Saw a group from a bus tour just smoking it up as we took the tram to the top of the zoo
Great value for ticket, variety and size, crazy crowded during holiday.
For 3yrs old baby..this location very good. No need to buy water..there are water purifier.
Great value for money, full price is $60 only 🎫Easy access from MRT system station 🚇🌞Summertime is not recommended to visitMost of animals is hide and avoid sunshineHard to found where they are🥀☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️🦫🦦🦥🦝🐇🕊🦩🦢🐓🦃🦤🦚🦜🦔🐿🐀🐁👀After the end, you can go to Maokong for tea
We really enjoyed the zoo. Great place for children to have fun. Very hot as expected but plenty of shade. Displays and signs both in English and Mandarin make it easily navigable. It’s a spectacular zoo especially when considering the cost of entry.
Great family day in the Taipei Zoo. You can see all the animals that you probably are thinking of. Elephants, pandas, tiger, camels, giraffes, zebras etc. It is easy to spend a whole day here.
What a huge zoo to be explored in one day! It is not enough time in a day only to explore all of the areas though! But our kids very enjoyed every animals there. Educative and entertaining. The weather was very hot, so better to prepare hat and sunscreen and water bottle (many spots to refill).
Taipei zoo is so huge and convenient, satisfied to try mackong gondola also to sense the best vibe of Taipei from above. They also have cute train if you feel tired to walk or reach out one another. The rest room, convenient store, and beverage vending machine are everywhere. Purchase the ticket on the same day through website
This is a great zoo with a lot of animals and it is nicely landscaped. Right now, due to the pandemic, you can reserve a time online to come. There were morning or afternoon ticket options. There were nice indoor and outdoor exhibitions throughout the zoo.
Took a quick trip to the Taipei Zoo and finally saw a clouded snow leopard, Formosan black bear, and some local monkeys. The bear was sleeping and not so photogenic, but the monkeys listened to me while I hooted and hollered at them, and the snow leopard posed majestically. We took our son to the butterfly house, which was by far his favorite exhibit with the meerkat exhibit coming in second. We only made it through about a quarter of the zoo today so we will most likely be making several more trips back in the near future.Like this review if you enjoyed it out found it helpful.
A really good destination for a family trip. Lots of animals, and plenty of spaces for children to run around. Unfortunately when I visited, the penguin section was crowded so I had to queue for 10~15 mins. The cleanliness of the place is great, although for the restroom is not really clean (since it was a crowded day).Have to try the gondola ride to maokong, incredible view! I luckily got to see the sunset during my gondola trip, and you can see Taipei 101 from your gondola. The ticket price is $30 for student and $60 regular.
Wide and open-space animal zoo. They also have orchids, and other plants/flowers, providing more natural environment. Its looked like they receive well nurtured. Diverse animal ranges, I like most of them. Only a little bit disappointment is the koala bear, which I came for but can not catch their faces~ 🥲🥲Hope to see them next time~
If you want to close the nature,Taipei zoo will be your best decision. Taipei zoo is the biggest zoo in Taiwan and there has many beautiful views and plants so you can bring your parents or friends to go there to do some outdoor activities. For example: picnic, hiking etc.But it is not your best decision to close the animals.Sometimes the weather is too hot and some animals will be sent to the air-conditioned room so that you can’t find them in the zoo.Overall Taipei zoo is not bad for me so when I have the free time, I will visit there again.
I am all about visiting zoos all over the world! This one is probably my favorite zoos in the world, it is very large and the enclosures are very large for the animals compared to other places (Of course, you can be an advocate for keeping animals in cages, but at least this place takes care of them). Every enclosure I visited has a beautiful set up and presentation. The signs added a lot by educating you on the animals.I am not sure they do it now, especially during covid, because my trip was pre-covid. They will give you a ticket to view the pandas, which I didnt know, as I didnt understand the purpose of the timed tickets they give you at the entrance. If they you get one, thats what it means, because pandas are quite popular. There is a lot of places to explore and be prepared for extremely long walks if you want to see everything! You will need snacks and lots of water. Youll spend more than several hours here if your an animal fan and want to enjoy the beauty of it. I spent nearly 5 hours, but I didnt stop to eat a normal meal, just snacks. If you love looking at animals, than this is the place to check out on your world travels...
Tickets were very cheap - only a couple US dollars. And its a big park with lots to see, so its worth a visit. The location is convenient to get to by public transit. Tickets are purchased via automatic machine.
The zoo is so big. One day is not enough to explore this zoo haha, you should spend more time if you want to see and enjoy everything here. The animals are so variated and being well grouped. So we should see the zoo map very clearly to know what kind of animals that we will see in that area. There is also shuttle way here and there is also a shuttleway stop (?to go to Maokong Gondola inside the zoo. If you want to spend time here, better to prepare your iPass or other card (you can obtain it from 7-11 or family martbecause most of the payment are done by using the card.
It’s a great place to visit in the cool days. Each area is clearly described. There are eateries and convenient stores inside.Easy to get there by metro or by car, plenty of parking by the mrt ($10/hr weekdaysor riverbank ($50 each time, weekdays only, weekends is $60/hr). The entrance fee to the zoo is very affordable $60 for ages 18-64, free for elderly or children under 6 and can be purchased at the automatic machine or use your metro card to enter. The shuttle bus/train is only $5 per ride.
I love this zoo! Actually placed a small donation NT $ 1000 and can get an annual pass for it.Lots of varieties of animals. Because I have the pass so I don’t have to rush to see every animals at one visit. I gotta time for slowly see those beauties from God’s creation.Might be a bit crowded during weekends. Have water foundations inside of the zoo so you can bring yours for refill.I have my YouTube channel for videos that I recorded here: Dr. Alice’s WonderlandGo check out if you want to see more
Update 3/20214stars. The zoo has gotten a lot better over the years. The animals look healthier and there are pandas now. Great to take kids. Be sure to go in the morning or it gets real hot.2starsThe zoo is huge with a variety if animals. The entrance fee is also very cheap. I wish they would take better care of the animals though. Lots of them look dirty and all skinny.
The zoo is so big, I cannot finish all the places in a day. The animals habitats are good and comfortable. However there were some areas that I could not find the animals such as Red panda or Taiwan Black bear.
Very good zoo in Taipei, it is very big and well organized. There is a big variety of animals from different areas of the world including panda, koalas, cangaroos, lions, girapphe, rihnos, penguins, monkeys, birds, fishes, reptiles..Animals have big open areas to move and they are not closed in small cages. Ticket is very cheap 60NT.
The zoo had many kinds of animals. The kids always had a great time right here. We would like to thank you for the good services.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So many animals, gigantic space (I feel like using wheelchair lmaoyet so cheap (30 NTD for college students and 60 NTD normal price)! I could go back here many times without regrets and still find myself not seeing many of the animals inside.
Large zoo with several species of animals, the ticket is surprisingly cheap. Usually packed with children so if possible I recommend you to go on weekdays and before 12:00 to see all area. The restaurant are alright reasonable.
A great place for the whole family to spend the day and enjoy. Animals occupy quite sufficient area divided in sections so expect lots of walking. You can also take the shuttle service for a relatively cheap price.
Love the zoo, the view is fantastic. It has many animal including koala, panda, and penguin. Divided into different sections (like tropical, desert, north pole area, etc.). They just added a new section with the capybara (too cute to handleand sloth.I really think that the animals are living a happy life here.
One of the best zoos we’ve been to! Went on a sat, and it was fairly crowded with families and young kids. Impressed with the zoo in several ways. It was clean and spacious, lots of walking and routes to explore. There were lots of dining areas at the right places. One at the entrance where McDonald’s was, one in the middle of the zoo where your view is gazettes/ safari animals. Great experience and almost bubble tea is available at each dining station. The animals look well and enclosures are in good condition. Tickets are only TWD60 per pax, so cheap! Upon entering they will issue Two tickets to view panda and another reptile enclosure at a specified timing. We love the aviary where we could go up close to a sloth roaming around and some birds. It was fascinating! There were areas with farm animals where kids can also see the animals up close. Spent a good there hours here and only 2/3 done. Leaving the other two areas for another time when we’re back.
What an incredible zoo! Large enclosures for the animals. Such a vast variety of animals! The zoo is excellently laid out and organized. I spent over 4 hours and didnt get to see nearly all the animals! The park is very clean, affordable, and the staff is very friendly. They have maps of the zoo in multiple languages as well
It is the best zoo ever. It was so great to visit it. First of all there are a lot of different animals. You can see there a few pandas, koalas house, kangaroos, zebras, giraffes a lot of birds, alligators, turtles, different fishes, elephants and even a penguins. Unfortunately I cant visit penguins because they close 4.45pm but anyway its a great place for walking with kids or just relaxing walking through park. Furthermore there is a train there and its cheap, you can go up with it and afterwards just walking down
Impressed with their zoo as we spend half a day there. Didnt expect to have so many enclosures and the animals are pretty well kept. Toilets are clean and ample places to eat and rest. Ticket pricing is cheap. Only downside is there is not much education talks or show at the centre
A nice place to visit and spend some time if you looking for a walk close to nature. From some points one can have a really nice view of the mountain as well. Obviously the clean and tidy atmosphere to enjoy. I went little late and so could not cover the complete area. However enjoy walking in the zoo sach and every moment during the visit. There is 7 11 near to main entrance and inside there is McDonalds and some other out if you need something to grab for eating. Overall 4star to this place.worth visiting once atleast.
This is by far one of the best zoos I’ve been to, globally. Hidden gem within taipei. Highly recommended if you come with family. You might want to bring your own food if you dislike fast food. But even then the McDonald’s is ridiculously efficient
One of the best!My kid really have enjoyed the place. Good thing here is they have a stroller rental for a very cheap price for a day(with a NTD 1,000 Deposit). So, no hassle to carry babies here. The Zoo is big. You cant see all the animals in a day, so look at the map and you choose where to go. They have vending machines everywhere. I love the milk tea store here ! Bring your caps and umbrellas. Its hot and a long walk.👍👍Animals are healthyEasy to follow directionsEducationalI love the panda and the white rhino!
Huge zoo with large enclosures and beautiful scenery. It has a large variety of animals and spots to rest through out the day. The shuttle is convenient and fun to ride and there is food disbursed evenly through the park making it very enjoyable.
Amazing ZOO that is very easily reached via metro/tube. It is a real wide open area so brace yourself for lot of walking. But all the animals are worth it.There is no problem with stopping and sitting while refreshing yourself with snacks. And there are also restaurants inside. It was also extremely cheap for a student (20 NT)
