Museum showcasing contemporary Taiwanese & international art within a striking geometric building

We saw the Zhang Xu Zhan exhibition and it was fantastic!Overall, the museum is a great way to spend a day. The admission is only $30 NT and generally the exhibitions are well curated.
For NTD30 entrance fee, it is definitely worth a visit. There are B1, 1, 2 and 3rd floor. Most of the exhibition are on B1 and 3rd floor.Staffs are alll very friendly and warm, very helpful to guide us through different exhibition. The parking is east, just near the Museum. Highly recommend for a 2hr visit plan.
Visit here for Mary Quant exibit. Simply great!
My favorite museum in Taipei. I love the high ceiling main hall, they have art installations in the spacious hall sometimes. A must visit if you love modern art.Ticket price is cheap, only costs NT$30/$15. They have a restaurant, a bookstore, and a small theater space in B1.
about 80% of the tourists will look up this place
A family-friendly art museum. Kids had lots fun here.
This Taipei Fine Arts Museum has a always chilling atmosphere, allowing people to access their art mode in the other dimensions.Eat some food before coming, because you probably will stuck here by the wonderful art and they don’t have too much option to satisfy your appetite ;)
I enjoyed the atmosphere at this gallery. It combines traditional and modern style. There is no entrance fee in the evening on Saturday.
It was really a great experience. Better than any other museums Ive been visit in Taipei
Nice museum to visit on a rainy day :general public the ticket price was 30NTD and for Taipei Residents 15NTDAfter the tour you can go and enjoy a nice cup of coffee at ACME cafe, outside the museum.
Impressive building architecture with changing exhibitions which are no less impressive. Absolutely recommendable.
If you love art, you should mark this place on your list!
Lazy Saturday on August 28, 2021.
Love coming to this place. Its been 2 years since i last visited but every time the exhibitions are great.
5/7/2021 updateCame to see 塩田千春exhibition and was blown away. The scale of this exhibition is massive. So much work went into the show. I was in awe.Great architecture with some of the best art around the world. Once you set your foot in, you can get lost here all day. Wonderful art space.
I tend to come and visit TFAM once I’m in Taipei. The expositions here are somehow deep, profound and avant-garde. Commissioned by Bruno Latour and Martin Guinard, Taipei Biennial 2020 this time offers various approaches to cope with the contemporary, complicated issues about the dynamics between humans and non-humans. TFAM organizes the international art events quite often, sometimes mixed with the performing art. In my minds, the nice ambiance and liberal spirit here give artists respect and are closed to the Centre Pompidou Museum in France.
Nice fine art museum in TaipeiThe exhibition is pretty niceNot expensive admission fee, discount available for student
What a gorgeous space! Sky high ceilings with glass walls bring in light and curate a beautiful collection of art and installations. We had been planning to attend for weeks and finally made it to the Biennial and the Taipei Art Awards. Loved every minute of discovering vast hallways of creativity. So incredibly inspired. Taiwan you are the jewel for the coming age post-Covid.
The building is now a little bit old but the space inside is great and every time the exhibition changes the movable walls can be rearranged. I had the luck to see the exposition about our planet and it was great. If you like a bit creepy art as I do, this is the place for you!
Wonderful museum that always has a ton of great exhibits! The exhibits are also interesting and a bit eerie and its so cool to see contemporary Asian art curated in a way thats able to transcend language barriers. If you only visit one contemporary museum in Taipei, go to this one!Note: Visited prior to COVID
Nice place,I like the children’s area
Since my childhood in Taipei, I visited here with my parents twice per month! And I still love it now! So peaceful and relaxing 😎
even for kids, there are a lot of interesting places to explore! Basically, we visit regularly every month.
one of the best exhibitions spaces Ive ever been to; the curations are avant-garde and the arts really make you wonder. This is a place for family and friends and for people who come alone.Yet I still hope some of volunteers in the museum could be more flexible on rules - I mean, I would suggest the tour routes to be for museum-goers reference but not restrictions. The museum do need to have some regulations to prevent artwork from being vandalized and to keep peoples experience here being positive and pleasant. But if regulations refine creative thinking and therefore limit the possible experience for visitors to explore, I would say its a very pity thing.P.S.: the dining cafeteria at the basement floor is actually quite nice aside from its interior deco lol.... The staffs friendly, the food tastes not bad at all, and the price is acceptable. I encourage all the museum-goers who happen to have their belly empty when finishing their visit of the exhibits, to come and enjoy an amiable dining time here.
Im glad I made the trip out here on my last morning. Beautiful building with some compelling contemporary art exhibits. I didnt have too much time but managed to take much of it in. I would love to come back and see whats changed.
I would say Taipei Fine Arts is slightly getting back on track but most exhibition are still predominantly local/national. It would be really nice to see more international exhibition and exhibitors. Also lots of renovations are happening around the buildings so keep that in mind.In terms of parking, the lot is insufficient for demand on weekends and holidays but always available on weekdays.
Amazing building. Usually, great exhibitions for just 30 NTD / person.
One of the best things in Taipei City. Exhibitions of classic and modern art from time to time with reasonable entrance fee. Highly recommended.
Very nice building design. Good local art with very good ticket price. Worth to visit onceAnyway inside is feeling smaller than outlook.
Great place for art lovers and those with a passing interest. I spent all day here. It has exhibitions of different styles. When I visited they were all current works. Challenging themes and interactive works in all mediums. Video, audio, paint, sculpture etc... The building is also a work of art.
I don’t know what to say, it’s not what I expected, actually there is nothings and the o lot good thing is the big screen with nice imagen. Maybe I’m not the best person for talk about this place because I don’t understand very well the art but that’s my opinion.
On my date of visit, some areas were closed for renovation. Very nice paintings of a young Taiwanese artist.Date of visit: 10 Nov 2019
The museum had free exhibitions, but for just 30TWD you can also see the temporary exhibitions. The museum was not too big, but filled with interesting things which I really enjoyed.
They have great exhibitions for the price of 30 NTD. Cant beat that. A good place to roam for an hour or two.
Absolutely a priceless gem to the art fans in Taipei. Taipei fine art museum offers a spectacular space for all of the visitors to immerse their emotion, sensibilities and imagination with the artistic works here. I do admire their selection of exhibitions, always impress me a lot.
When we arrived there, we thought we have to pay an entrance fee but during that time, entrance is free. The place is huge and big. At first, I thought there is nothing much in there but to my surprise, the place is huge. Many art pieces from different artist. I cannot provide photos because taking pictures are prohibited to maintain the artists idea.
Great art museum in city centre. Very low entry fee basically free, unlike some countries cost you arm and leg to enter a museum.
A lot of different visual and auditory art. Atmosphere is very quiet and everyone is enjoying the art at his/her own pace, the entrance is free if you are a student. You only have to show ur student ID card. There are 3 different floors for the whole museum so youll probably spend about 1-2hrs in there.
Nice place to visit Taiwan artists and enjoy the building space design, you can just spend time here, watching airplanes fly through the sky, see ppl be focus or laid back about the arts.First time I came here I was 16, it’s 20 years later, and all of it still great!Love this art museum, recommended you come here often :)
It is the 5th stop on the hop on hop off blue bus. It has a collection of ink painting but most of all I liked the basement show as they are telling you that every one can create. And you do try.
I love this place, they curate art exhibits very differently and very much better than Hong Kong. If you are planning to stay there whole day, don’t forget to visit their canteen and grab some refreshments.
It was free admission when I visited because Many exhibitions were closed. I was there for Rene Magritte exhibition and it was worth stopping by. It was about 10 minute walk from the station and there are food alley on the way.
Great place to visit. I think I didn’t pay for a ticket because I went there on weekend or maybe it’s free always? The place had special exhibition for a local artist. And I enjoyed it very much. The museum is on a path of the airplanes flying into Songshan airport so it’s a good place to photo or video close up airplanes looking at their bottom. It’s pretty cool. It’s about 10-15 minute walk from a crowded street linsenbei street. The street has lots of restaurants and stores.
Although only a few exhibits are open currently due to renovation, it was well done before. Numerous exhibits or contemporary art and the like, housed in a modern and spacious building.
Your experience at this find arts museum will surely depend on the exhibitions you visit while there! I mean this as a compliment because the facilities, staff, cleanliness and access were generally very good when I visited. There is a small lift to accommodate visitors with buggys and wheelchairs. The exhibits were clearly labeled and obviously great effort had been invested in the background information on display and the translations of major texts into English. When in Taipei again I would like to make another trip there.
When I was with my friend in Taipei, we visited also the Museum of Fine Arts. I was looking forward to see the collection of classical artwork, in particular some classical paintings. But we got very disappointed. The first what we saw in that museum was an exhibition about Taiwanese technical inventions. And also the remaining museum showed just modern art; no sight of true fine art. In that view, the name is confusing and should be “Museum of Modern Art”. But I cannot recommend that as a “Museum of Fine Arts”
Some of the best stuff Ive seen. Came during the modern art exhibit and the curation and use of space was awe inspiring. And its free after 5pm!
Beautiful modern building with a huge floor space. The volume of exhibits is just right for the available space so the museum does not feel overwhelming or empty. The museum lives up to expectations by showcasing beautiful art pieces, such as the work of local sculptor Kao Tsan-Hsing. It is also commendable for its willingness to tackle sensitive political and social issues, such as the protests that ended many years of military rule and the lack of worker safety standards during the early years of industrialization, which resulted in severe injuries and death. The exhibits all have English text and most of the museum staff can speak English. The gift shop, however, is stocked mostly with Chinese books. There is a restaurant at the basement with reasonably-priced food and drinks. Admission is 30 NT (1 USDand free every Saturday evening.
This is Taiwans first modern art museum showcasing both national and international modern and contemporary art. The iconic cubic architecture gives it an interesting contemporary feel and there are interesting exhibits all year round. Alight at yuan shan station and talk a relaxing walk through Taipei expo park before turning left zhongshan road.
