Local Mexican counter-serve chain offering tacos, burritos & beer in a casual, colorful space.
Best fish tacos in town!!
Quick service, but literally couldnt stomach more than three bites of my completely unauthentic burrito. I love Mexican (and even Americanized Mexicanfood but this... Wow. I threw a whole burrito in the trash, and thats not really something I can afford to do.
We are from South Dakota , and when visiting our daughter & son in law in Helena we make this restaurant a top stop priority especially for the most delicious fish burritos! EXCELLENT!
I ate there yesterday and had the mission burrito. It was very tasty and it was a generous size. The service was quick and the clerk was polite. I would go back again. I ate there again on aug. 18th, 2022. I ordered the mission supreme. Guac, sour cream. There was HARDLY any sour cream or guacamole. The burrito was very tasty but when I pay extra for those ingredients I expect to be able to see and taste them.
Easy to order, quick service, pretty buildings
We absolutely love this place! Great tasting fresh food that keeps bringing us back!
Taco Del Sol is not only delicious but their customer service is exceptional. I called to place an order for the entire office (20 peoplefor lunch the day of, not thinking about pre ordering the day before. They mentioned that its easier for them when ordered the day before but they said that they would put together my order that day and would be ready for pick up in a few hours. Not only was my order ready when they said it would be, everything I had ordered was there and nothing was missed! The entire office was ecstatic! Thank you!
Best cheap eat in town. Nachos and burritos are both quite good.
Delicious burrito with all the fixings. Great selections of meat, salsa and tasty guacamole add on. I would have enjoyed a larger burrito for the price but all together a great place. Next time I’ll try a taco salad of quesadilla.
Portions arent great at this location. Service was meh.
Quality food! The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. Super nice employees (:
If I were rating the food alone I would give it a three star. Its not bad, but definitely mediocre. Everything else about our lunch was great. Great environment. Very friendly staff. It was quick and comfortable dining in. And priced lower than I would have expected.
Definitely some good tacos and burritos! Not the best you will ever eat but still very good! I would definitely eat here again and try some new things. The fish burrito was really great!
I wish I ate slower so I could enjoy their food more. This is my go to for a custom burrito. Chain burrito joints dont hold a candle to this place in my opinion.EDIT: Still loving this place years later; there may be bad days due high demand, but I have yet to find a better burrito place in town; I challenge any burrito place to try (Qdoba did not succeed).
Wow! Great burritos and quick service. Not a fan of the pico and screamo but otherwise it’s great!
We were so eager to dig in that we didnt get photos, but our burrito (chickenand tacos (one shrimp, one fishhit the spot after a long day of travel. The portions were generous, the staff was friendly, and we appreciated the casual atmosphere (counter service, bus your own tableof the brightly decorated interior. We also enjoyed an after dinner stroll in the pedestrian area where Taco Del Sol is located. We parked in a public parking lot nearby that is free after 5pm on weekdays.
This place makes the best beef and bean burrito with extra cilantro and onions that I have had in a long time. They will make your burrito anyway you want it.Some people mention its not authentic Mexican it may not be but I mean it is delicious and if they are available when you go try the chocolate chip cookies the owner makes them and they are delicious. By the way they offer a military discount and that is very rare these days !
Full line with quick service. Not sure how the sauces are made here, but the mild green sauce I had was wet, runny, and spilled out of both ends of the burrito. I dont think Id mind it much if sitting down and eating, but for on-the-go it is a no bueno for me. 3/5 wont bang while walking about.
No cilantro at this location ?Still love the burritos here but, I think this place could let a customer know if you’re out of salsa or, toppings BEFORE they start making their burrito. I felt really let down when multiple toppings were out of stock when I went to go make a burrito here.I’ll try again and I’m hoping for better results.
Their mission pork burrito is really good. I like the jalapeno and sriracha pepper mix in the food. Their chips and salsa was good. It had wonderful amount of pico. Fun atmosphere. Love the garden skeleton. Great place to eat.
I recently went in and got a chicken quesadilla and queso and chips! And it was amazing absolutely delectable, I recommend anyone who goes there to try the chicken quesadilla! It will blow your mind! And the burritos are pretty good to. I do believe that this is the best burrito and taco place in Helena hands-down!
We have eaten here a lot over the years and the food is extremely consistent. I recommend the fish taco or burrito.
Wouldve been 3 stars, but both meal orders were messed up. Food was nothing special, but not terrible. Very affordable. There was a line out the door, so must be popular. Maybe it was an off night. Ive had better burritos in town, probably wont go back.
Great food and amazing atmosphere. The crew there works really hard and fast to make sure that orders get out as quickly and accurately as possible.
Fish burritos are full of fish, rice, beans and very flavorful. You can have them spicy or mild. You have choices of cilantro, cheese, jalapeno, serrano and they have a yummy sauce and cabbage. !
Oh man! The food here is amazing! My favorite is the fish taco on a soft flour tortilla. The fish is breaded and baked. The tacos come with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, cheese (but not to much), and a homemade white sauce. You can get onions, cilantro, jalapeños, and other extra toppings. The burritos are HUGE! You can get 12 or 24 inch tortillas stuffed full of rice and beans with fish, chicken, or beef and other goodies. The queso dip is really good too. You can get sodas and beer to drink. They even have Kool-aid for the kids. Long story short, its worth your time to stop in.
Lots of seating and delicious, reasonably-priced food. Not always open when I want it to be, and the bathroom situation is a little weird. Overall, possibly the best quick eating downtown.
Taco del sol is amazing! They have the standard sorts of things you would expect and more, and it is all delicious! Great options for kids and great location on the walking mall.
Place is far from having authentic Mexican cuisine. Definitely more americanized than other places . Nevertheless, the burritos were sized largely but the chicken needs some work.
Large burritos and large tacos. Great location to sit and eat or take it with you. Quick service.
I’d give it a 3 star review, but their horchata was amazing. Fast and quick burrito place with pretty good burritos. Cheap. Nothing fancy.
I love eating here, all of it is awesome! My kids love it! Only complaint, when someone orders a burrito with meat they are expecting some meat! I would pay an extra 2 or 3 bucks or whatever just so long as there was a decent amount of meat in my burrito. Keep the quality up Taco Del Sol, Helena appreciates you.
Great taco, burrito, etc. in historical Placer Hotel bldg on the historic walking mall of Last Chance Gulch, Helenas original townsite/gold camp. Todays lunch was burrito supreme-yummy yummy, and large portion. Craft beer on tap. Friendly service. Clean and roomy dining. Would be 5* except for acoustics.
Great eats for lunch today. Tasty fresh burritos, tacos, etc. at the right price. Quick friendly service even during noon hour. Clean pleasant environment. 5* if the acoustics were softer.
Colorful, delicious and refreshing, happening place, inside and outside, is Taco Del Sol on downtown Helena s Walking mall.
Decent food and mainly go there for the queso. But they are never consistent with how much they put in. Sometimes all the way to the top and other times almost half way empty.
OK food. They made both our orders wrong even when we corrected them. Boyfriend asked for no salsa and they put salsa so he couldnt eat it. Burrito ingredients were cold and soggy. I still laugh at how people think this is good Spanish food. I really wanted to like this place! The interior is really nice and love the location. The food isnt super good so that was a disappointment. I dont think Ill go there again.
Really good food but they dont always make my food correctly. I give my order, they confirm it, make it, I pay for it and go home, and my burrito is wrong. I would appreciate if they were a little more conscientious.
Was exactly what I was looking for for a lunch, not too filling and not a gut bomb that you would experience at a fast food joint. Lots of different varieties and options for customization for your burrito. And there was no line so I was in and out really quickly.
Best fish tacos and burritos in Montana, and I have eaten them all over Texas, California, Florida, Arizona, and mexi, new mexi, best ones that beat these ones were in Los Angeles, but I would say these are a good combination of some of the best
Funky little burrito joint with very tasty menu items. Perfectly placed on the walking mall accompanied by perfectly placed seating. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Enjoy a brew too.
This place is super mediocre. All the food has that bland "Sysco taste" to me. Additionally, it is not authentic Mexican by any means (cant believe some other reviews mention that). The fish supreme burrito is the only thing worth getting here. The interior is fun and the service is usually fast.
Lovely experience. The food is so good the service is great! I had nachos which were delicious and boy did they give me a great portion. I will keep going back!
Super friendly staff and the food is always great. Quality, fresh ingredients, and great prices for the amount of food you get. I love all the different options they have for meats, toppings, sauces, and burrito sizes. Never disappointed when I eat here and my 8 year old lobes the baby burritos!
This is a great chain of restaurants. I was a bit disappointed in the lack GF offerings and care at this particular joint. The Bozeman location has gluten free burrito wraps, and is quite careful about avoiding cross contamination, which was not the case in Helena. However, all else about this location was up to snuff. The historic building that TDS is located in is also quite neat.
Probably the worst "Mexican" food Ive ever had. Where to begin...We ordered two supreme fish burritos - one in a tortilla and one boat style (naked), a kids cheese quesadilla, chips, salsa, queso and two drinks for $25.00.Burritos were made up of a choice of meat and beans, and then wrapped up in a tortilla with cold shredded lettuce, cheese, sour cream and salsa. It was cold to eat with the exception of the fish stick (yep you read that right... see more below!)They advertise the naked burrito as a gluten free option, but nobody bothered to tell us that the "baked Alaskan cod" was actually just frozen breaded fish sticks (FYI thats not gluten free). And no, a fish stick burrito is not what I was thinking when I ordered.Queso is just heated Tostitos queso dip, chips are from Costco, salsa is diced tomatoes and onions with cilantro. Our four year old ate her $2 cheese quesadilla and $4.50 chips and queso happily. Its obvious that nothing is made in house. Oh wait maybe the kool-aid? Yep they serve kool-aid.Anyway, just be aware that this is not Mexican, I dont even know what you would call it? Our favorite taqueria was closed today so we decided to try this, but I would advise to go to any other Mexican option in town. The up side is the cool-factor. Its bright orange inside with high ceilings/exposed ducts inside an historic building on the walking mall. Dont be fooled by the facade...its like dating a jerk just because his foreign accent is cool. Dont do it.
My favorite quick place to get delicious food. Their new queso is fantastic, the people are friendly, and the building is very colorful. I love their supreme burritos!
Whether you have an appetite for one of their burritos, a fish taco, or even just some chips and salsa, youll be pleased with whatever you order. Oh, and they have some of the locally brewed beers on tap too.
It has a bright, casual atmosphere and fresh burritos. Also the location is great to enjoy a nice day outside at the walking mall after grabbing a bite to eat. Sometimes finding free parking is difficult if you havent been there before.
Food quality and service has steadily gone down since opening. And now it is so sloppy and gross I will never go back. The owner is an idiot and does not know how to run a business, maybe she should of stuck to the one business instead of letting a bunch of little kids run it in to the ground. Im definitely going to be spreading the word to everyone i know that taco del sol is gross and makes you sick
