Casual chain restaurant with a festive vibe serving beer, cocktails & a wide menu of American fare.
Firstly the service we received was very good, Olivia initially sat us at our table and was great talking to my kids, but her shift ended and Malachi took over and he was equally as nice. Just very personable and attentive despite it being fairly busy.I think you know what youre getting with TGIs food, its fairly standard but tasty. We went for the 2 for £18 for the adults and the kids had something off the little menu. The food was really nice and didnt take long to come at all. Very good value for central London and we would definitely go again.
Food was warm, not hot. Took 10-15 minutes to be seated even though there were plenty of empty tables. Atmosphere was dark, dinghy and dated; place needs updated and better lightning.
All round very nice visit. Not a place for fancy food but if you want a fun bite and some beers and a crowd pleasing menu then worth stopping off. Like most chain restaurants the standard is fairly similar- if uninspiring. A safe pair of hands ✋️ and not too pricey compared to others locally
definitely one of the worst restaurant experience i have had in london :(partially understandable due to a seemingly shortage of staff (especially when some many of them have to gather around tables that are celebrating birthdays for a good amount of time), but it is still not a good sign when you see tables are left un taken care of for over 20 minutes, which is about the time we waited for our food. and it was not a worthy waiting.we paid in total 65.5 pounds for this dinner. except for three beer, our dishes contained one corndog (its actually two of them but each one of them was just bite size so id say its actually one), one boneless hot wings to share , and one ultimate ribs to share. and i think every single one of them was over priced.it is understandable that the restaurant needs to pay for rent and other costs, especially at a place such as leceister square, but id suggest, if a restaurant doesnt provide quality food and find itself every difficult to run, maybe its because it was a wrong decision to open it at certain places.a common issue with the food here is that they are small in portion, which is very counter intutive as you might have assumed it to be an AMERICAN restaurant. especially with the corndog (s?. no matter how good it is, it does not worth 9 pounds with such a simple taste of sweet and sour in small portion. i could just buy 3 tesco meal deal with this money and id be way more satisfied.the ribs were disappointing. not juicy at all. its so dry i thought i was eating mongolian food, which would actually have a better taste than what i put into my mouth. francis underwood would not fall in love with american ribs if this is what he tasted in the beginning.and the most disappointingly sad food ive eaten in this month was their boneless hot wings. if i take out the bone from a bone-in ribeye, this would not make the ribeye suddenly a filet. if i remove the t-bone from a porterhouse, i wont magically get a flat iron and a rump. if i cut of my left leg and remove the femoral bone, it will not grow out two nipples. but that is just a weird american tradition, which i do not understand but respect - lots of korean boneless chicken wings are actually made from chicken wings. however this dish on its own is dry and chewy. the buffalo/chilli sauce is almost to none, and the cheese sause, which was not blue cheese sauce, was plain and boring. go to any wing shops around leicester square you would probably have a way more enjoyable tasting experience than whatever this is. The only thing Juicy from this dish was indeed nothing but the celery.so if you want some edible food, DO NOT come to TGI Fridays leicester square, because you would not thank god its Fridays, on the contrary, you would probably hate God with passion if you did come to this place where every food felt like they were premade and reheated.also there was just a randomly placed bottle of sea salt on the wall on the way to exit. plz just spend a good 30 seconds to spot and remove it.
Favorite place to dine in when I ran out of options of where to go. Their delicious steak (not on the picturesand the ribs are a life saver! Always going home with a full stomach. The ambiance is so nice too. The oy downside is that there is no proper mobile reception inside. They have wifi but is not great too. Will keep on coming back still.
First time having the 2 for £18 menu and it did not disappoint. It was so varied had the corn dogs for appetizers, my favourite cocktail (purple rainand ribs it was so very filling. The only negative is we arrived at 15:00 waited to be at entrance to be seated and no one came after 30 mins after being fed up we sat ourselves no one came to table so had to go find someone. No visible servers until 16:20 the manager did however apologise.
Food was excellent. Just the right portion size and cooked exactly as requested. Compared very favourably to similar restaurants in the area.
Went here for dinner last night before a show. Tried to enter as a walk in, was turfed away by doorman/security. Logged in, booked for 10mins later then was allowed in.Other groups were allowed in if they did not book, we were just 2.Service was very slow, took ages to have our order taken, long time for food to come which was missing items.Asked several times for a refill on our drinks, never arrived.Tables surrounding us left dirty for the near 2hrs we were there.Took over 20mins from finishing meal, asking twice for the bill to pay. Would have been quite happy to have just walked out without paying if they dont want our money. One of your waitress has a nasty attitude with a colleague, and made it quite clear in front of guests, swearing and calling her colleague various insulting names. Every time she passed she was swearing and complaining about working. Glad she wasnt serving us!
Couldnt fault them at all! Our server was so kind and accommodating and apologised when our starters took a while to get out. Amazing experience and Id reccomend if youre in Leicester Square!
Booked a table in advance...so no issues getting in...got a booth for 4 adults and 2 kids ...food was perfect and service was brilliant. Big shout out to our waitress a lovely Scottish girl ( name escapes me)...couldnt be any more helpful and to Oisin for everything ..Great vibe in the place 👍
Absolutely piss poor, what has happened to TGI’s ?? So sad to have to leave a bad review. Quiet Tuesday lunch in Leicester Square was a big surprise (albeit 12 noon)🧐 Was sat down and shown to my table, given enough time to read menu but my first choice was unavailable, the waiter was aware and double checked, he offered an alternative and I was fine with that. However my next choice, main course, was greeted with “that’s no longer available as the menu is changing next week” (rib eye steak), 0 for 2 in a heartbeat in Leicester Square on a Tuesday lunch. Sadly I left as I wasn’t very happy. Plenty of staff working, I would suggest management here get the menus changed so customers are notified of non available items, (little note on each would be very easy). Alas I ended up in BURGER KING up the road. I was later out in Westminster and a lady working stated the same from the afternoon. That’s two walkouts! How many more were there? Very sad as TGI’s was always a go to outlet. Not anymore. 🙈
Awesome restaurant with great food and fantastic service, a bit on the expensive side but worth it. Also, booking a table in advance is a good idea.We went twice and both times it was absolutely great, the burgers were delicious, the fried chicken was as well, the fries were crispy and the sauces were also tasty. They have a large selection of cocktails too, we got two different ones and both were very good, even though they were pretty weak alcohol-wise.The service was terrific, everyone was super friendly and nice. The tables were cleaned quickly, we were asked for a refill as well as cocktails and dessert, all in all fantastic service! The prices are alright for the quality of the food, however, they are a bit more expensive than comparable restaurants in the area, but definitely worth it. Also, its usually quite full, so booking a table is a good idea.To summarize, we enjoyed it a lot and will definitely visit again when we are in the area! Great experience all around!
We’ve been twice to this place during our stay to London and boy was it good! Both our meals were top notch, staff were beyond friendly (despite being short staffed). We were served by Olivia and Sophie over the 2 days and they went above and beyond to ensure our experience was amazing. We would 100% recommend- the steak is to die for!
Its been a while since Ive visited a TtGI Friday and was really looking forward to going,, as its our go-to venue when we visit London. It was busy so the wait for a table was understandable. We were disappointed to see that pasta dishes were no longer being served and the menu was now reduced to just bog standard - burgers, fries, wings and the like. I enjoyed their pasta dishes. Shame. We waited an hour for our food after ordering, and the waiter apologised for the slow service.Food was average. Atmosphere has gone down the drain - its definitely not the bouncy, welcoming, fun place we used to visit. Toilets need more regular cleaning.Unlikely we will be back, unfortunately.
It is a bit of a tradition on our holiday to visit a TGI Fridays restaurant for the spareribs. This restautant gave us delicious spareribs again.I also liked the alcohol free cocktail I ordered.Staff was friendly.Location is a good one at Leichester Square close to so many musical theatres and some sightseeing places.
Brilliant pre theatre visit yesterday, and ideal for the kids, who loved it. Food was banging, prices were really competitive, and we were superbly served/hosted by Todd who couldnt have been more considerate, helpful and efficient. Top man. Highly recommended 😊
We ate dinner at this TG Fridays location in Leicester Square. The food was quite good. The restaurant decor is super cute. Service was a little slow and we had to wait 20 minutes for our table despite having reservations.
Arrived early so was expecting to wait, but got a deat which was good, then down hill from the took 15 minutes to take drinks and food order. Food arrived warm and sweetcorn cold and no butter, waitress not once asked of food was OK or not nor did she ask us if we wanted anything to drink. Was so looking forward to eating here probably wont again any time soon 👎👎
We had a fantastic experience here. We did have to wait at the bar for a table, for twenty minutes or so, but the bar staff gave us some incredible cocktails whilst we were waiting with a generous amount of alcohol in them! Then the tower burger was incredible. Delicious food, attentive staff who were kick to attend to us, and a wonderful experience. Very nice evening, thank you!
Booked a table on the fly and waited 10 minutes for it to become available. We were lead to the table by the front desk staff, and was served by Malakai, who was absolutely superb throughout. Very friendly and engaging.Food was delicious. Pictured: half rack ultimate ribs, legendary glaze, house fries, corn on the cob, coleslaw.Only downside was that it was a little expensive (2 kids and 2 adults came to about £55). But being in central London, not many places will be "cheap" nowadays anyway!Other than that, the staff, atmosphere and service was great.
Its been a few years since I went to a Fridays restaurant, back then it was bubbling with atmosphere, the waiters were jolly and it was an experience. Monotone waiter, long wait for food which was nothing to report good on, even the kids baked beans were like warm. Plus there was a leak in several places in the restaurant, 1 on me!! Not an experience I will be doing again.
Doesnt usually disappoint. We had one in Kingston which closed so my son was very happy I took him here today. He had the sesame chicken and chips, I had the grilled chicken and a wedge salad, all delicious. They do need to sort out the ladies loos though. A bit grim and some door locks broken.
Great costumer service , really above and beyond! One of us had gluten allergies and we got really good taken care of by the staff and manager when ordering. Food was great =)
Absolutely no stars, we were a party of 6 people at 9.30pm, hadnt booked but told they could fit us in. Took our drinks order and starters, food came before drinks, then our waitress was clearing our plates, told her we were ready to order mains now, she replied kitchen was now closed as past 10pm! Unbelievable, why was this not explained to us on arrival, we would not of accepted our table, our 12 year old Grandaughter had just completed a 26 mile walk around London, she needed food! Wont ever step in a TGI Fridays again 😡😡
Quality of the food was excellent, service unfortunately was not...starters and mains arrived together, which made the table cramped and the main meals were not hot. Had to ask a waiter to clear the table and deliver desserts. Maybe the restaurant had staffing issues, but I would go again because, as previously stated, the quality of the food could not be faulted
The staff were friendly and helpful despite how busy it was they were on point. The food was good however a few meals did come out cold, but this was sorted quite quickly. Overall a good experience for a family meal in London, but I would recommend you book in advance.
I would skip doing a boozy brunch here. They were offering a boozy brunch for £30 for 90mins. Unfortunately when we went there they were out of alot of the foods. So there were no tacos available which rules 2 of the 4 platter choices. There was no option to swap out any off the dishes either. My friend was Muslim and they would not allow him to swap any pork dishes. The platters although we enjoyed them, there wasnt that much. So you didnt feel satisfied after the meal. The drinks were also slow to arrive. We ordered a gin that took about 15mins to arrive from our 90mins. It wasnt a great g&t, it felt quite watered down. We move on to a different drink, The prosecco started of arriving slowly, eventually they started to give us a bottle between 4 of us, which was much better and faster. So forget the g&ts go straight for the prosecco. Weve done quite a few boozy brunches now. I dont think well bother with this one again. The staff were nice though.
The food was very delicious. Thats all I have to say.
Not the experience I remember. Food was average, the service was slow and not up to standard. We had to chase to get served and for drinks. This chain used to be about fun, great food and service but it seems no more
We r good friends of TGI. This time the prices were higher than expected and the place wasnt clean. But ribs were fantastic as always.Another thing we were surprised that now you have to book place, if not you cant enter. The place is recommended in early hours. At evening there are huge problems to enter to the place even if you have booking. You can wait half of hour or even more out of the place (in our case it was rainy and windy)
Overall the food and drinks were okay but it was very clear that service wise they were very understaffed and a lot of people had to wait a while to get things like the bill or even request more drinks. If this was resolved then I think the experience would have been a lot more positive. No fault to the staff themselves they seem quite stressed too.
Our meal was great, its the best burger one had. Our waitress Honor did a fantastic job, and was cheerful and helpful the whole time. 10 out of 10 Honor.
Turned up around 6pm on a Sunday, asked for a table for two. The hostess was helpful but utterly feckless. The restaurant was more than half empty but apparently no tables available???Sure... But even without the glasses on my head I could see at least 10 clear tables, no queue and seemingly no valid reason to turn us away. Its been 3 years since I last ate at TGIs... Its gonna be double that again before I darken their door.
The classic American burgers are big and tasty! The mozzarella sticks are more than enough for 2-3 people. The tacos are a little too sweet, in my opinion: I prefer more savory. The service is extremely friendly and fast! It was a good experience:)
Good restaurant. However, they let you in at the booking time but would not provide tables for at least 30 mins keeping you waiting at the bar even though they have empty tables. I guess, they tend to increase their bar sales with this policy. But that is not ideal with everyone, for example if someone has babies, or someone is pregnant or some disability, they wont be able to stand for 30 mins, neither thay are able to sit on high chairs. Otherwise no complains. Food was good in portions. Good ambience and staff were all nice except one who was showing tables at the very beginning.
We hade such an amazing experience here! The food was great! The service was great!I will recommend this to everyone I know and will definitely come back here! Thanks Sofi for your awesome service! So appreciated!
So, Matt with the Merc hat saved this from being a 1 star review.Table of 4 booked in at 1930hrs. We arrived at 1930hrs to be told we have to wait outside until our seating time.... Which was 1930hrs... Made no sense but were soon allowed in and told to sit at the bar and we would be called over.Half an hour passed and we think weve been forgotten as other people came and went from the bar so a staff member was asked and we were advised our table will be ready soon. Another half an hour and Matt noticed we had still not been sat so worked his magic and we got our table. A round of drinks as an apology and away we went.So an hours wait for our booked table but was sorted with free drinks, so thats why its not a 5 star review as otherwise it would have been. The food came out quickly and was very nice.I had the inferno burger, tasty! The wife had something vegi and she stated it was very good. Ribs - gooood :)The Smores ice cream was very nice, although not sure they were melted. All in all, without the wait this would have been a 5 star review and top marks to Matt to looking after us.
The service was kind of slow, but otherwise very welcoming and the food was good
Portion & plate size has gradually gotten smaller over the visits. Never had a bad experience when I’ve gone , sesame chicken is a top choice I’d always recommend. Burger was average nothing special . Decent restaurant food, does the job , nothing super special.
I would give no star if I could but one star is the only star in the whole restaurant which is the guy serving at bar. It so disheartening to see how such a good restaurant can go down so badly.I went to the restaurant on 11th December to celebrate my kids birthday but that was my mistake. The whole experience was so bad it literally spoiled my evening. To start with even after booking in advance we had to queue up in rain which I could understand as it’s busy time and staff shortage but restaurant was relatively empty. We had to wait for food for nearly 45 mins and when it arrived it was all cold, took me 15 mins to find someone to tell about food once they took it back it took them another 25 mins to get us the food. It took nearly 20 mins to get a drink and every time I have to leave my table to find someone giggling at the back of the restaurant. To make it worse they billed me for all the food twice and to correct it took them another 20 mins and 3 calls. When I asked to speak to manager the lady went to get the manager but never came back.It was not short staffed and very busy it was just no one was keen on working and as if they can’t be bothered.Seriously will never ever go again or suggest anyone else.
I was really disappointed with the food. My medium steak was very well-done to the point that it was charred. Replacement steak was still not medium either but edible at least. One of the waiters who served us was an unhelpful smart-mouth.One of the waitresses got sticky sauce on my coat. I saw her do it but she mustve thought I hadnt. Thats the only reason I can think of why she didnt say sorry.Had a table reserved but still had to wait 30 minutes to get in.On the upside, the cocktails were pretty good and fairly priced. Shame about my food.
Very good service. I was in the mood for a Lemonade, which was not on the menu. I asked them if they could make something or do something like a mocktail with lemons. I believe I got the best lemonade I ever had. The waitress was very friendly and accessible. My recommendation; get the boneless chicken tenders with Jackdaniels glaced.
Now situated just next to the Odeon in Leicester Square, this TGI is a large jndoor seated restaurant. We were greeted quickly at the door and seated with directions supplied to the toilet area on route. A clean and well equipped table was given and staff were friendly and quick to attend to take orders. All confinements are already on the table and most were filled to the top and clean. Staff were polite and pointed out what food was unavailable. Food arrived quickly, was hot but not piping hot. The food has a good taste and the quantity of food supplied was sufficient for the price. Prices are reasonable for central London and it appeared you got a fair amount of food for your money. When pressed for a receipt, it arrived quickly and payment taken without delay. TGI always offer a good menu with plenty of selection and there’s always something new to look at and choose. Overall a good visit, reasonable prices and friendly staff
Great service from our waitress, good food and good atmosphere. Portion sizes have definitely gone down in size since previous visits. However will definitely be back in the future.
Wonderful service. Our waiter was awesome, gave us loads of good tips for local bars and night life.Burgers are super juicyDefinitely come back
Great service, staff always happy to see customers. Ive come to this specific restaurant more than once - just because of the service. They do the best Oero Milkshake on Earth - 100%!!!
I am no expert on TGI Fridays, but this one seemed great! We were seated quickly despite it obviously being really busy. The food and drinks were lovely and it was generally just a great experience, especially considering how busy it was! I felt a little sorry for the staff who looked to be rushing around like mad to try and keep up with everything! But they did an excellent job and I will make sure to visit again whenever Im next in London!
Hi have been hear before and was good, this time was not so.Booked 3 days before going as we had 2 wheelchair users with us, got there and the table wasn’t ready, which was disappointing as we had pre booked, they took 10mins but cleared a table that was suitable, it seems in Leicester Square the restaurants don’t allocate you a table but take your booking and panic when you arrive. We weren’t offered disabled access via the exit, so had to go up step to get into the restaurant. Then the 10 min wait for a table, definitely not enough staff on.Then a near 20 mins for a staff member to take our order , even though we had been ready to order our food for 10mins, i ordered the half rack of Ribs and my wife the Garlic and herb Chicken, the salsa dip was hot and had a kick to it that wasn’t advertised and 4 kids meals. These came fairly quickly, but the size of my ribs were quite small compared to a harvester , £15 for this dish was about £4 too expensive , 1 kids dish was not available. The staff were very polite and friendly .Now coming to pay my bill was a nightmare, tried for 20 mins to pay as was due to take the children to see Mary Poppins, 2 staff members said it was the system that wasn’t working, so they finally got a manager over, i asked what was the problem was and I could pay cash if it helped, this helped, I was honest and told him all of our dishes and and drinks, he did redeem himself and gave us £20 off the bill for being so honest. The food was ok , but would only return with out the children as the disabled access isn’t great and the booking system obviously doesn’t work properly.3 stars due to refund of money and polite staff
Food was decent and price was reasonable and they didnt add a service charge like other restaurants do.Our waitress was very friendly and didnt have to wait too long for the food. Desert was the highlight! Pre book on a weekend or before theatre show because it can get pretty busy!
Worst TGI experience ever!I have been to tgi Fridays many times and always enjoyed it however this was the most disappointing visit Ive ever had. Staff were ok however my daughtes burger was cold with the advocado topper thrown on the side of it rather than inside the burger. My cob salad contain literally 4 of the tiniest pieces of chicken Ive ever seen, shriveled olives and no Colby cheese as stated. It was my daughters birthday which was stated when booking however no mention was made of this. I had to ask for dressing twice as well as the fruit n veg sides that were supposed to come with the kids meal, but when they did come the apple was sooo brown it had clearly been sitting out since morning if not since the day before but what hurt the most was the extreme shrinkage in portion size, the "sharing" wings and Nachos were barley enough for one let alone for sharing and nothing like what we had received on previous visits to Tgis. £14 for 8-10 nacho’s is extortion. I get there pockets may have been hit by the pandemic but as a self employed person so have mine. I left extremely hungry, disappointed and over £70 down wishing Id just gone to McDonalds.
