TBC West: Taproom & Tacos in Rocky Mount

The restaurant setup is fast casual, order and pay at a counter, then receive your food. The location itself is nice, but the food was very lackluster. We ordered the chips and 3 dips (salsa, guacamole and quesothe chips and dips were very good. For my entree I ordered a chicken taco and it had zero flavor. No seasonings at all and no salt. I was confused when I bit into it…the taco had chicken, cheese, guacamole and pico and absolutely no flavor. It tasted like someone put chicken in a crockpot with water, then served it on a taco. I don’t know if they forgot to season that batch or if it is always that way but I was disappointed. I would go back again for the chips and a beer if I was in the area but not for the tacos.

Tacos and beer are both amazing! Stopped in on a road trip and had a great time. The people that work here are great and they even make their own hot sauce! They brew their beer too and it’s tasty :)

They actually grill the chicken on their outside grill. This is my 3rd chicken and rice bowl and its delicious 😋 👌. I go once a week and been satisfied each time

Good tacos, and craft brews. In the Rocky Mount Mills on the Tar river. Good smoked short rib tacos.

Great place, Lot of Alcohol to choose from but Great Tacos, Best in RM. highly suggest Nanas Short Ribs.

Short rib nachos are incredible, was not expecting them to be so good. Solid rotating beer menu.

tacos were cold , waitstaff seemed inattentive also seen one of the bar staff drinking on the porch which I thought was very unprofessionalwe wont be back

We went and my wife had the advocado shrimp salad and I had the shrimp tacos we both ended up getting sick with food poisoning , we will not be back anytime soon !

Had the seed spitter watermelon sour; light, but perfect amount of flavor. Easy to drink summer beer in the NC humidity.Tried the braised short rib, cheeseburger, and street corn chicken tacos along with dip trio & tortilla chips. Braised short rib was very good. I really liked the street corn chicken too. The cheeseburger was good, but 3rd of the three imo. I would have liked my tortillas to be warmed. Guac was my fav of dip trio. Salsa was good, but very fine texture.The set up was awesome; very casual, multiple rooms to spread out and have your own space as well as nice outdoor seating options. The food came out quickly as well.

It’s unfortunate how downhill this place is going…just because you offer beer doesn’t mean the quality of the food doesn’t matter. My tacos looked like something regurgitated.

Like to checkout this place every once in a while to see what new tacos they have came up with. I took 1 star away cause they let the chef with the Mac n Cheese recipe leave and my kids Loved it!

Food was good and the beer was strong. Great outdoor seating area and staff was super friendly.

Took 50+ minutes to get food. Tortillas were cold and dry, filling was lackluster. Shrimp tasted past freshness. The chips were absolutely soaked in oil, we had to pat them dry to try and eat them. Will not be back, especially not for $5/$4 per taco. Nice outdoor seating was the only saving grace.

Have been wanting to try here forever! Outside seating was perfect for our little one to explore. Everything came out super quick and everyone was very helpful!

The staff are extremely friendly and there are several rooms to occupy, a bar and seating outside. The food is quite tasty, however the food and drink menu is short. We enjoyed having a room to ourselves and not feeling rushed.

Hold the arugula and they did! So fresh and delicious. Great outdoor seating under a big shady tree.

The beers here were excellent. They have a great location overlooking the mill property. Outdoor seating for enjoying some excellent tacos. The spicy fritos taco was exceptional and the meats were cooked perfectly. I would definitely go back.

The Mills is a great place with so many microbreweries with a great variety of different brews. Everyone was so nice and friendly. My first experience was a great one, as I will be returning.

Walking around the Rocky Mount Mills found this place. What I enjoyed most is they have oustide and inside sittings. You can have small samples of beer before choosing one. The staff is very friendly and the place was really clean. You can have a small meal or just a have a good quick bite while enjoying different beers they make. So for all of those reasons, you guys are amazing 😉.

Fantastic tacos and beer in a relaxed environment. The eating areas are homey but clean. There were a wide variety of flavor profiles among the different tacos.

Not open posted hours. Both website and sign outside said open until 6 on Sundays. Showed up around 4 and was locked up tight. Dont waste your time.

TL;DR: Overall, I enjoyed an excellent lunch. I highly recommend this establishment! Uploaded some pictures, please check them out.Really great, delicious food. The fresh ingredients are not oversalted, IMHO (individual tastes may vary).Chips were served with your choice of 3 salsas. The chips were thick, and a welcome change to what I am used to eating at other restaurants. The guacamole dip was fresh, well made, and delicious (I also overheard a family at a table next to us stating the same). The Salsa Rojo was a thin salsa (not chunky), fresh, has a small kick to it. I truly enjoyed it. Those who have an acute aversion to spicy food may want to sample it first. The queso dip was mild and very enjoyable (I only tried a little bit of it...my friends devoured it like raptors).I ate the Town Common Smoked Chicken and Jalapeno Popper tacos with no substitutions. Both tacos were served in flour tortillas, and were excellent. The tortillas were packed with ingredients but did not get soggy or tear. I didnt take a picture of the meal because I was pretty darn hungry and forgot. Pictures provided by others look accurate though.I believe the ingredients, sauces, etc were all (or mostly allfreshly made in-house, but I did not verify this with the staff because the place was so busy.Unfortunately, I was driving, so I was not able to try the beer. I plan to rectify this mistake on my next visit.Service wasnt excellent, but was definitely not disappointing by any stretch. As I mentioned previously, the place was fully packed (basketball tournament and a festival in town on that weekend), so I think the service was fine. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly.Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The environment is laid back and casual. No dress code (obviously, wearing shirt, pants, undergarments, and shoes/sandles is the way to go). The park-like grounds on which this establishment is located is also safe, clean, and relaxing.Overall, I enjoyed an excellent lunch. Its not what I thought it would be food wise

Quesadillas good. Stout that sounded good was too high test after beers at some of the other breweries so had a different type that was ok. Friendly staff. Room divisions kept the noise level down.

The tacos here are amazing. I tried the B.A.T. Loved it. My wife had a cheeseburger taco that was excellent as well. I will definitely be back.

We stopped here because of good review. Actually service was very slow and nasty, food was ok it not good. They were not polite. We came 3 people but they left 2 silverware. They never asked any hot sauce or salt n pepper. Just beer was ok taste. Very disappointed.

Stopped here with a friend after an event at the Mills. It was recommended by a local. We loved it. Didnt try any beer but the tacos were delicious. There is such a wide variety of fun and unique tacos, anyone could find something to love. My favorite part is you can mix and match. We got the choice of 3 and it was great to be able to make 3 different choices. I wish I could have tried them all. The atmosphere was amazingly fun as well. How they played off the character of the old house. Fun and trendy, yet very relaxed and comfortable for all types and ages. Other guest seemed to be enjoying the beer as well, but we had a bit of a drive home. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Food was delicious but they were out of queso dip :( Not much seating inside so you might have to wait and could improve on noise level. We would try it again.

The tacos are fantastic! Im not a beer drinker, but there was a decent selection of wines. The restaurant itself is noisy and "echo-y," probably from there being no soft surfaces inside.

TBC West was a highly suggested location to grab a beverage and some food. So I decided to give it a try. Youre first engaged by a simple clean and friendly atmosphere. Think old country meets modern twist. The menu rotates, so you may not always get the same food options every time you come. The tacos we had were all very good. Full flavored, with a variety of different flavors attacking your tongue. Everything is well balanced in the tacos. It may be a little bit of a wait, so lunch breaks may take a bit, but its good food and great service.

Love the ambience of this place! Great location, phenomenal staff, delicious food. I booked a private party here and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group. Cannot say enough about how awesome TBC West is!! We will definitely be back soon!

Got there just after opening so it was pretty empty but the beer was tasty and enjoyed the tacos.

Rye IPA is the bomb, tacos superb (especially Brisketand Collins who works there is a great guy! Bring Uber to Rocky Mount and Ill hang there all night!

The tacos and mac and cheese are killer! Beer is wonderfully refreshing. The outdoor seating is in plenty! Great place to get together with friends!

Small, simple menu. You cant choose a bad meal! Tarboro Brewing Company Beers are great, with other local beers as well. Great environment outside with plenty of seating and games.
