TANGO Argentina Food - Takeaway in Saint Charles, United States
One of my favorite places in St. Charles. Great food and spectacular service.
Absolutely fantastic! We ordered delivery through doordash. Everything was fresh and delicious. We were worried about how to tell which empanada was which, but it was packaged with this wonderful key that explained which empanada had which ingredients. My favorite was the spinach one.
If your want authentic Argentinean empanadas, then you have to make the trip to this little restaurant. They are freshly made and fried to order.
Great food and super friendly staff! The spicy chicken empanada was our favorite.
Wow. The empanadas are amazing. Let me say that again, Ahhhmazing!!! You have to try this. Looks like nothing special on the outside, the inside is super cute, small but the food is worth a stop in! We will be back many times.
The best empanadas I have ever had.
We tried Tango for our first time tonight. We thought it was great. We bought a variety of empanadas & desserts. My wife & I each liked different empanadas & desserts so they have a very good variety. Well definitely be back again & we highly recommend Tango!
This place is a mom and pop shop that I believe has been open for over 20 years, they just got a new slightly larger location and has great customer service. The only item on the menu is empanadas. But they are AMAZING, you must try then out. Theres a wide variety of options, including ham and pine apple, bacon and cheese, spicy or not beef or chicken. You may also purchase them in bulk foe at home cooking! A weekly tradition of mine is to swing in here and get a few of the delicious treats. They also do have some sweets! And alcohol if youre into that sorta thing, but its not a bar more family dining.
Best empanadas of the Midwest! We have tried 11 out of the 14 flavors, and ALL of them are delicious! Meat, Corn, Tuna, Ham and Cheese, Caprese, Cheese and Bacon, Ham Cheese and Pineapple, Butternut Squash, and more. All 100% recommended!
I have been here twice. I have been craving their empanadas! All the staff is so sweet and wonderful. They take the time to explain the food and have so much passion for their culture. The food is absolutely fantastic! The spices and details in the empanadas are superb! Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants yummy food and excellent service!
They only serve Empanadas as the main course but there are so many flavors. They need to change the oil they fry the Empanadas in though. But their customer service is fantastic.
Excellent dining experience and great empanadas. The service was outstanding as well.
This place is amazing! My husband and I stopped on our way through, and they were fast and very friendly and helpful. The place is very clean including the cleanest public restroom Ive seen in a very long time. We tried nearly one of each. Spicy beef and cheese and onion were personal favorites. Husband commented if you dont like fishy, the tuna wouldnt be for you. I didnt enjoy the creamy corn as much as Id hoped, but mostly do to a spice (cloves?Im not used to with corn. Not their fault though on that, just part of experiencing a different culture. :Ended up ordering frozen ones to go, and planning to enjoy again!
The empanadas were amazing! I tried a variety of different options, to see which I liked the best. The problem - I liked them all! They are very friendly and will explain the various empanadas and even provide a cheat sheet.
I’ve never had anything short of an amazing experience here with the staff and the food. The environment is so welcoming, and you can taste the love and attention to detail in EVERY empanada! I recommend this to everyone I know, it’s always the bright spot at the end of a long day at work. Multiple tasty Vegetarian options for my Veg Friends also!
Great selection of empanadas and desserts and the service was excellent! My favorite empanada was the butternut squash, but the meat filled are also excellent.
I order 4 of each for my crew and I to try them all every one unique and delicious overall favorites spicy chicken and onions and cheese
Tango was a vendor at a St. Louis picnic that I attended and my friends and I LOVED the empanadas. The one with corn was my favorite. Not only were they delicious, but the friendliness of the man serving them was unparalleled. He greeted us all and made us feel like we picked the right place to get food. We walked away happy before even trying the food and after our first bites we all agreed the empanadas were heavenly! Seriously delicious!
Loved these empanadas!!! A good amount of variety with some rich flavor. These things arent dry at all. Will definitely be back. :)Tried a bunch if them and my favorite was the caprese, meat and raisins - mild, and meat - mild. (didnt try any of the spicy ones cuz Im a pansy 😅😅)
Craving Empanadas found this gem tucked away in a shopping plaza in St.Charles and boy did it payoff.First off, they need to raise the price from $2.99 to $4.99, the food is well worth the price big time.Sophie and her family are so friendly & personable to their customers even if its take out.We ordered Chicken & Beef Empanadas and lordy from the homemade pastry dough with great crunch to the tasty spice and lots of meat. For Vegans the Spinach Empanada was just as scumptous as both the Chicken & Beef. Did I mention the family makesthem fresh daily. They are doing Festivals in Tower Grove along with Solard Market, check the mout food is scumptous and such a cheap eat.
Worth visiting! The Argentinian empanadas are delicious. They are palm sized so we ordered a dozen for a table of three (4 each). They let us mix and match to try more flavors. My favorite was the beef and raisins, which surprised me. The tuna one was also tasty with the vegetables coming through. Honorable mention was the butternut squash, which was creamy. I did not like the creamy corn as it didnt have a distinct seasoning or flavor.Interior is clean, including the bathroom. Service is friendly and fast. The AC is a bit strong, which I liked, but one of my friends needed to get a cardigan from the car, but shes also from central Florida.
Delicious empanadas! Super friendly staff and extremely clean. Absolutely great experience!
This place is a gem! The flavors are incredible. The empanadas are cooked perfectly. The owner was so friendly. 14/10 would recommend.
The empandas are outstanding! They are so friendly when you call your order in. The friendliness remains when you enter the restaurant to pick up your order.
Great empanadas. Great variety of flavors. Friendly service. Glad we stopped by on our day trip to St Charles. Wish they had other things on the menu, but it’s just empanadas. The empanadas were as good as any that we had in Brazil.
The food is so freaking incredible. I can’t believe this was my first time here. It won’t be my last. The first time I took a bite of the empanada I literally said oh my god out loud. If you are even considering this place just come here. You won’t be disappointed.
Today was my first time eating at Tango, but it will definitely not be my last. The empinadas were golden, flaky, and delicious! We decided to go for a variety of fillings, each very true to its menu description (along with a unique blend of Argentinian spices and aromatics that lifted the flavors to another level). The staff was very friendly and helpful, you can really tell they are passionate about their empinadas, and with those flavors they have every right to be!! If you havent visited this slice of comfort food heaven, do yourself a favor and go check it out!
I’ve picked up their food numerous times but my wife and I stopped in for lunch this weekend and had a wonderful experience. The place is clean and bright, but most importantly the owner and staff are some of the friendliest people in the local restaurant business. They’re very inviting and helpful with the menu, so there’s no reason to feel intimidated if you haven’t had empanadas before. Dining in for the first time, I tried the Argentinian beer and my wife tried the Argentinian iced tea. They were both excellent. The sweet lager goes very well with the crunchy, flavorful empanadas. We also tried a couple of desserts. Don’t skip them. They’re imported from Argentina too and are yummy. Please just go here. You will not be sad.
Oh my goodness! Their empanadas are divine! We are partial to the corn ones, but the others are still wonderful as well! We will definitely be returning!
If you like Empanadas, this is the place for you! I sampled three different empanadas from the menu and all three were great. The Empanadas are a bit on the small side so Id recommend ordering 3-5 per person though at $2.99 ea., theyre definitely affordable. Waitstaff is also at the top of their game here. I look forward to returning in the future and trying other options.
They have the best empanadas ever. The owners are the kindest and always wanting to make sure that you have the best experience.I will definitely be back!
The empanadas were fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu.
Our first visit was this past weekend. I cannot rave enough about how wonderful the empanadas are! We (party of three), decided that our favorite flavors are spicy beef and spicy chicken. I got the creamy corn and my daughter got the squash. They were good but not something wed order again. They cost $2.99 each and we each ordered four. The service was super friendly and fast. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at TANGO and I HIGHLY recommend!
Super fast and delicious! First time having empanadas so I just got the mild chicken, but it was great! Alfajores were a great dessert to round it out.Quick Update: On my second order we get a huge variety of empanadas and they were all packed in the same box, but each was prepared in a way you could tell them apart and I wanted to say its the little touches like that which can elevate a place with great food to an immediate favorite.
Never had an empanada before in my 39 years and cant recall having any cuisine from Argentina. I had heard about a new empanada joint near me from a coworker who hadnt tried it yet either and finally got my chance tonight. The flavors were delicious and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Ill definitely be back with my family in tow.
I walked by one day and someone said it was super authentic. Well, thought id give em a try! And glad I did. Food was super good, meat empanadas were my favorite. The spinach, and Squash were pretty rocking as well. Only complaint... Wish they were bigger, more food!
Family owned business, keeping it small, staying true to their humble beginnings and original recipes. Wife hand makes every single empanada, which includes the word Tango on them! They have been earning Customers and recognition since 2000 through sincere heart to heart conversations and presenting delicious 😋 Argentinian Empanadas .
The food was fresh and delicious and flavorful with a broad variety. We had a larger group but did not have to wait long for our food. The staff was friendly and personable! This was our first visit, but the staff made us feel as if we were old friends. Highly recommend!
The empanadas are excellent and the owner is very kind and helpful. I absolutely recommend this place!
The empanadas here are delicious and always fried fresh to order. My favorites are the spicy beef, beef and raisin, and butternut squash. The dining space is beautiful and welcoming and the owners are friendly and kind and give great service. Tango is a weekly staple for me!
Truly one of the greatest things I have ever tried. These empanada’s are beyond amazing. As amazing as the food is, you short yourself if you don’t talk to Hector and ask him about his love of Argentina and even more fun and beautiful, ask about his love for his wife!!! Love this place!!! Must try!!!!
The definition of the hidden gem. Ill be back for sure. The Picante Pollo empanada and the Tuna empanada were my favorite for sure. These would make a great option to take to a party.
Fresh, delicious empanadas in a friendly small business atmosphere. We first encountered Tango Argentina at a summer festival as a food stall. When we found out that they had a storefront near by it was a no brainer to visit them again. The new location looks great and even has ample space for a dine in option. Good food, good people, check them out if you have the opportunity.
So so so delicious! I’m so excited that they moved closer to our house. We’ve had almost every variety now, and haven’t been disappointed in any of them. I think the spicy beef is my favorite. They’re small enough that you can probably eat 3 or so, depending on your hunger level. We usually get a bunch and split them.I also really like that they have some little imported sweets at the register.
Wonderful owner-operators that are very nice and helpful.Spectacular empanadas of all kinds. My favorites are Spicy chicken, Caprese (superb pizza pockets), and Beef. However, all the flavors are wonderful.
Great food. Quick service. Owners are incredibly nice and welcoming. Would recommend!
Best Empanadas I’ve ever had! Highly recommended. The flavor is unforgettable and they are very easy to eat. I’d post the entire dozen we ordered if we hadn’t eaten most of them already 😋
I have heard a lot of great stuff about the place in the past, but have never stopped by until a couple days ago. Hector, the owner, loves his business and is a great business man. Extremely nice and polite, he takes the time to chat with you and explain his working process, the business history and the ingredients quality. He is super cool to talk and anyone can listen to him for hours. The place is spotless. The cleanest food store I have ever seen. There is not a little micro tiny dust anywhere. The food is incredible. Delicious. No words to describe. I for sure will stop by frequently from now on.They are also present in most of the big festivals. Hector gives you the paper with the dates, I am posting a picture of it.
My husband and I happened by Tango and stopped in for some takeout. We met the owner Hector and he told us all about the options and chatted with us about Argentina and the history of his business while our food cooked. He is very friendly and passionate about food. They import their dough and spices directly from Argentina. We purchased a variety of empanadas and every one was fantastic, but the spicy chicken was my favorite. Definitely worth a visit.
Do your self a favor and check this place out. Its mainly a carryout place but does have a small bar to sit and eat. Owner is super nice and knowledgeable and takes a lot of pride in his product and his country. spices and dough are imported from Argentina. Best empanadas in Saint Charles probably Missouri.
