Very nice ambience with complete Indian theme..Good optoon to have a team get-together with locals to give them a new taste and flavor..Price :$$$$ for 2 to 3.

The food was excellent and the server was amazing in recommending what to get. Small downside was that not enough meat was served with the dishes, we got more sauce than meat.

Moderately recommended. Nice, beautiful and clean restaurant with good selection of Indian dishes. Overall, the taste of the food is ok.We ordered the chicken biryani, sheesh kebab, chicken tikka, garlic and cheese nans. Everything was ok. But in all honesty, we have tasted better Indian food at another restaurant in Algiers.The biryani here is less spicy and tasted more like plain rice. The original flavour of chicken tikka has been diluted to suit the local taste. The nans are too thin and the cheese used has a slight bitter taste which is different from other restaurants. But, the sheesh kebab was good. All the food come in big portion.Drinks choice is limited. We ordered the mango lassi. But the taste of yogurt is too overwhelming from the mango.Price wise, it is within the mid and higher band range.This restaurant has beautiful interior deco and clean toilets. Recommended if you wish to entertain guests. Service was also fast. It is run by highly motivated and professional staffs. The manager is also friendly and will make sure all the guests are well served.A setback about this restaurant is the limited parking space. The road leading to this restaurant is also narrow. Making parking a bit cumbersome. But depending on the time, theres a parking attendant to help customer secure a parking spot.

Wow good meal. Affordable price . Basically a full meal can go for two persons. I enjoyed the "mixed" meat 🍖 . Wait time for meal is between 10-15 mins which is ok. The staff are very welcoming.

Best foreign restaurant. If you like Indian cuisine, you will be fulfilled.I ve been eating there for at least 15 years and quality has always improved. The staff is extremely polite and remembers your favorite food. The cooks are fast and waiting time is always below 10 mn. Favorites are : daal / murg pakiza / saag paneer

Great food as usual ! We had a Mixed plata chicken kebbab, gira rice ( du riz au cuminummmm a delight! Garlic bread and cheese bread. Waiters very helpful and the manager very smiling and welcoming. We had a wonderful time. I just love indian food 😀

Its located at a calm and good area of Ben Aknoun.It seems to have lost its previous charm and so I was disappointed because it was my go-to spot for small dinners with friendsThe staff are nice enough but not very professional.Their packaging is excellent,hence 3 stars but beyond that dont expect anything special.All in all, Id say its just okay .

Hi everyone, my friend and I went for lunch at the Tajmahal we were welcomed by the friendly staff, we ordered our meals which by the way were delish 😋 and then a nasty man came upstairs & started shouting at two staff members !!! unprofessional and completely incompetent especially that the nasty man was the manager.The food was good , waiters were very friendly but the manager was just nasty.

I went to a lot of Indian restaurants around the world and I must say that the Taj Mahal in BenAknoun makes it easily to the top 3, even top 2! Everything is so tasteful and delicious, it’s outrageous! They even recently added new recipes/dishes on their menu. Service is great also. It’s a bit expensive I must admit but it is worth every dinar!

I LOVE ITT! i just hope they add (gobi manchurianto their menu cuz its the tastiest indian dish everr!

Three stars for a very good place and here is why!You may find strange that some rates the Taj Mahal as 5 stars and others as 1 or two stars?I tell you why: some like the restaurant and food, some are disappointed by the pricing that got crazy over the years.It is true the place is nice and service professional. Food is tasty and service is fast.However, along a decade of decaying dinar value, and increasing running cost and despite salaries remained the same, many of us who used to be fans of the place do not go anymore because of the crazy prices: 1,600da for rice? Are you serious?In average, you leave the restaurant with 4,000da per person.My true opinion: two expensive for the service provided. Really became the same as prices practiced in Europe.

Very bad service, both the waiters or the owner. The rice had no salt at all, the dishes were far from the authentic indian food. The lacy drink is a real scam, that is like just sour milk which should not be. When I complained about some details in a very polite way, the cashier was very offended and got defensive in a very unprofessional way like he did not welcome criticism. Besides, the prices were very very high. 900 DA for a portion of plane rice is exaggerative. We could also hear waiters having an actual fight. Also, the naan bread was very dry and hard.I am not sure why this place is famous even though I could not find the slightest reason to ever go back there again, though I have more than a reason to not go again.I strongly advice you to avoid this, overpriced non-authentic Indian food at a place that do not welcome customer’s input.

We drove all the way from Kouba, following the TripAdvisor recommendation for this marvelous restaurant!! Excellent Indian food, very friendly, English speaking staff und superb take away service. They helped ordering the taxi back to our hotel, thanks a lot for that! Well definitely come back the next time. Only cash though.

Good, authentic food, a bit over priced for what you pay for.

We made a reservation somewhere bit it was cancelled for some reason, it was a Ramadan evening and weve been fasting all day (STARVING), we tried to find another place but all the restaurants near by were booked to the kitchen, it was crazy! This place was the only place that welcomed us, we ran and we were welcomed with big smiles, we didnt know what to order instantly as we were not planning to eat in an Indian restaurant that night, the waiter smiled at us and went and brought us some hot soup and some dates to break our fats (how kind of them!We then took out time to order the food that was very delicious, Im not into spicy food in general but the meal we had was amazing, will definitely go back and needless to say we left them a big well deserved tip :)
