Huge pub with old mismatched items & a disused Trabant car, with music, food, market & a garden.
So much fun!! We did a bar crawl through the ruin bars, and it was a blast. This bar had so much going on, every room and nook at a theme.I loved the atmosphere and the staff was all super friendly. We worked our way throughout the bar, and could’ve easily spent more time there!
This place has an amazing vibe. From the very entrance I liked the decor and the atmosphere there. Perfect for an evening out, for drinks, food and spend time with friends.
A must see bar in Budapest. When we came there, there was a long line to enter, but if moves suprisingly fast and is worth the wait.A huge place with a lot of different rooms with different things to do. They have multiple bars with a big selwxtion of drinks,a food stall, a shisha bar, jam session hall,...And everything is old, combined and fixed with random stuff.Oh and expect the toilets to be absolutely horrible.
Must visit in Budapest, it’s like stepping into a different world of organized chaos. The atmosphere is very unique especially during daylight with merchants displaying their goods, somehow the place is very shabby but at the same time it’s obvious someone takes lots of care to keep it running and in shape.
I love this place. It’s just a wonderful mash-up of colour, noise, hubbub and socialising.Sometimes you’ll queue to get in, sometimes you won’t. The whole place is a sense of feeling - you’ll know when you’ve been there. Don’t hesitate!
The first and most famous ruin bar in Budapest. The place is more for tourists. However, everything is done well, various atmospheric places inside for every taste but in the same style. Rubber boots are required for the toilet. Have fun in a famous bar in Budapest.
What a unique and awesome thing to do for fun in Budapest. No where else in the world has this attraction. Definitely a must while in Budapest and if youre lucky enough to go on Sunday morning there is a cool flea market inside!
In the heart of the Jewish quarter, youll find an alternative tourist attraction, similar to other places in different cities like Christiana in Copenhagen.A venue/community with eccentric, free-loving, hippie, creative, and original rooms across 2 floors. I came during the day and made me smile, this is a place that wants and likes to be outside todays norm, and want to be original and offer local and tourist alike a different experience. Its free to get in and be sure you try the local Hungarian summer drink Fröccs, which is a summer drink to help you cool down. Its perfection lies in its simplicity. Made from soda water and usually either white wine or rosé, it is a very refreshing drink.
We went there with a group… really nice spot with several bars.We drink some nice shots (Palinkaand beers 🍻. On one spot they were some nice life music 🎶.The shisha bar was also nice … smoking, drinking some beer and sitting in a bath tube 😁 so really nice evening.
Nice atmosphere and vibe , you can chill if you go during the day as we did in June. On Friday evening there was a huge line outside of at least 100 people waiting to enter. Some of the bars were not open on Saturday noon so didn’t have a great experience to have a good drink there - just grab a lemonade. A lot of tourists are going and in the evening and I guess it’s overcrowded then.
The most known and famous ruin bar, and with good reason. History, kitch and culture soothes from every surface. The bar operates with a chip system for the first cup you buy. Remember it for the next one and skip the cup-fee.
Nice place to hang out with drinks.!From the entrance, this place brings me the other world.Atmosphere and surroundings don’t follow common concept.Strongly recommend someone who wants to feel new feeling in Budapest.!
Can be very crowded at the end of the week, very touristy and long queues for drinks (4000HUF for a cocktail). Under 18 can come in before 8pm but must be out after that. Some nice touches in the decoration, worth a visit
Nice place for tourists and locals. The are different ambiances, different rooms and style of music. Every one can find a style that they like.At first, It seems like an abandoned industrial hangar where squatters have made their home. It is actually quite a place of living. People, plants, drinks and music make it a warm relaxing place. You can dance, or sit. You should go at least once to understand the ambiance.
The most popular ruins bars around. Some really weird interior design but a must see place. Seems like some of squat places in Europe. Prices are in normal zone.
The most famous ruin bar in Budapest. There are lots of bars inside actually where you can order anything you like from limitless choices. The environment is very alternative. I didnt like the chairs that much as they are uncomfortable but you go there for something different than the ordinary. I would definetly go again. If you visit make sure you go early as if you go late you can face queues up to 50 people.
What a fantastic find! This place is so cool it has such an amazing vibe and great drinks as well with good measures. It’s a must to come and visit here if you are in Budapest!
OMG, amazing place, if you visit Budapest you must come here. Many rooms, good alcohol and magic atmosphere. Cant describe, you must come here yourself
The place is really nice and pretty big too. It was perfect for a chill beer in the afternoon. At night is also really cool and full of people even on weekdays. There are so many different rooms and different decorations, you can even sit in bathtubs. Theres also food you can order and so many types of alcohol to choose from.
Szimpla Kert is the most famous but also suggestive ruin bar in Budapest. There are a lot of cafes inside and the air you breathe is very psychedelic. Here you can take some Hungarian beer but you can also take a break and relax listening to different types of music.
Really fun ruin bar but if you want a quiet place to chill this is probably not for you. When we were there in the afternoon, there were a load of people singing badly super loudly so it was quite annoying. The bar vibe is cool though so if you happen to go in non busy times maybe it would be a better experience. Drinks are in the more expensive side for local bars but not unaffordable
Really cool funky place! Had multiple rooms and was very busy, had a really nice vibe! The only negative was that the bouncer was quite unpleasant and uninterested (talking to random peopleand right next to the entrance (and the bouncerthere was a group of men asking people if they wanted drugs! This was quite intimidating as it was right where you queued. Maybe this is normal but in England it definitely wouldn’t be allowed!
Very good! Several pubs inside a ruined building, with a very crazy and beautiful décor. Great place to make several photos and have a good beer.
Szimpla Kert is a well known, must visit place in Budapest. It’s a huge pub with old mismatched items, music, food and a garden! Everything from the light fixtures to the art on the walls gives a unique vibe. We can surely mention that this place makes everyone so amazed.
Great pub in ruins. It is a HUGE place! Unfortunately, I went solo and had no company to chill there and party, so it was a bit dull for me. Overall, I saw a lot of young crowd, groups of friends, drinking all the way across! There was no food in the place! Rightfully, so! It is a pure drinking place! The drinks were decently priced.
Old ruined building transformed in a very cool and trendy bar. Amazing vibes inside, lot of tourist obviously but some locals as well. Nice music a must for me all the time I come in the city. No food serve or I never seen 😃but around the area you can eat some cheap food or plenty of restaurants. Must do in Budapest
Amazing ruin bar in Budapest! We visited the place on a Monday evening and it was crowded. It’s loud, it’s colorful, it has djs spinning funky/groovy records. It’s great for a night out. Would definitely go back!
Very cool and unique spot for having a drink or two. The drinks are average but the location is so unique, that its a MUST visit if you are in Budapest.
Friendly staff in the entrance, very long queue but it does goes much quicker than it looks so give it a 10 minutes before you go elsewhere. Definitely worth it for its dark-alternative vibe and decoration (if you don’t look for a poss place). Few options of music and different bars (small areasthat you can choose to taste the local drinks. Quite touristy.
Very hip bar/cultural place. Abandoned house turned into a cultural venue with mostly beers and wine and some snacks available. When we went only one of the bars was open, maybe because still covid issues. But itd fun to get a drink and find a place on your own to sit and chill. Remember to bring a pen to write on the walls!
Excellent place to enjoy a night out with friends or make some new friends. At times, it’s crowded every night and the atmosphere is great.Whenever I’m in Budapest I visit this place, it’s a must! We met lots of people here and had some great conversations with friends and strangers!I recommend this place to anybody, especially if you like places with people from all around the globe 🌍
A must for all visiting Budapest. Even if youre not a drinker, it is worth visiting for the esthetics and atmosphere. Several bars serving various types of drinks. Loads of seating areas. They also sell food, which we did not try, although we did get food from next door - Karava - which is also worth a visit.
Great ruin bar for alternative experiences. This is how a club should be. Divers, multi cultured, open minded, creative, freaky and so on. Just great fun to be!
The most popular ruin bar in Budapest! It’s very lively and has a lot of bars in it. It is very crowded in the weekends. So try to visit here a little early then 22.30.
Be prepared to give your eyes a treat. You’ll be scanning every room and bar for funny, quirky and weird stuff. Loved it here! And to the contrary of what I’ve read online, the staff is in fact very friendly. The bartender even let us taste some wines before ordering.
I can say that it’s fun time to go there . When I reached there with my bf we saw it was long queue out side of this bar but I was worth to wait for it bar. We had amazing time there. They have 2 floors and plenty of different rooms where you can chill with your friends. So many antique things are inside , for me bathtub was attraction 😅😅I had plenty of pictures there.
A very unique place combining a variety of styles. A very underground and industrial atmosphere. We went for a visit in the morning and it was almost empty. We visited the same day at night and there was a huuuge line waiting to get inside. In a case like this I would suggest foryou to go opposite this place at Szimpla Mini for a drink.
Quirky colourful and unique venue, must see as part of the ruin bars! Cocktails nice at rear left bar! Many favourable spots for a photo! Arrive before 10 or youll be queuing half way down the street! Very popular ruin bar
Amazing place, cool and quirky. Plenty of bars on different levels. Feels very bohemian. You cant miss it when in Budapest!
Absolutely wonderful! Mysterious ruins pub offering multiple bars inside. It’s huge..you could dance drink or chill. The place offers different atmosphere in various rooms. There are some funny decorative details as well. Quite popular amongst tourist especially Friday and Saturday nights.
A special and charming place. Worth a visit. A demolition structure that became a bar. Maze of rooms designed by the guests. Full of life during the day and at night. Highly recommended for a glass of wine or beer. On Sunday there is a farmers market.
Amazing experience. Lots of people so not for someone who doesnt like crowds, but the place has amazing vibe. It is definitely a tourist trap, but one you really want to fall into. Go there early, ideally around 8pm in order to avoid a huge line outside. Good drinks for reasonable prices, nice chill background music. And of course the ruined junk state of everything around you is just mesmerising.
Recommended! Do not expect to find the most comfortable cocktail bar, but come here with the right spirit. It’s called ruin bar for a reason, and the entire vibe is great! Maybe avoid it in during Saturday night (might be overcrowded), but come here to have a beer or cocktail during a weekday. The entrance is free, it’s an open space but not too cold and there are tables with chairs all over the space. Probably better by night.
BEST BAR IN BUDAPEST!!It’s so lovely here, such a great, busy and fun atmosphere. Cocktails are strong, but tasty. Staff are all really friendly, and good music
Great place to get drinks before going to the club. The club consists of several rooms and halls which are interconnected and decorated in a great style. There are also multiple counters where you can get drinks and that brings me to the only downside: the prices. The prices are a bit more elevated than most bars/clubs in Hungary. Overall this place had a great overall vibe. Definitely recommend.
Quite a nice place with really nice and different mood! Little bit overcrowded on Fridays and Saturdays nights. But totally worth a visit during the day, when you can enjoy the whole place and each room’s unique character
The most popular ruin bar in Budapest, must be in your to-do list! Secret rooms, good music, the atmosphere is awesome. I definitely recommend this place.
Absolutely loved it! Its huge! There are like 10 bars inside, each room has a different vibe. You can dance, but also relax and just a drink. Some areas were quite full when we there, but theres always a space somewhere in here. If there would be more places like this, Id definitely go out more!
It is a really unique experience! A bar in real ruins. There are so many areas with a completely different vibe, from more quiet to more uplifting! The decoration is jist amaxing with so many creative ideas! The busy evening people are enjoy dancing and in the middle there is also an open smoking area where you can still enjoy your drink! One negative thing, the cocktails are really bad, very low variety and super light. Better get a beer
Number 1 place to visit in Budapest if you like crowded places, pub noises, good company and crazy places stuffed with art… oh and you’ll definitely will find here something to drink. Trust me, this place is awesome 🤘🥳
