Systragil Camping Ground in Akureyri

Beautiful spot that is very kid friendly. Great playground and layout for the kitchen/etc. Bathrooms were warm and clean. We didnt use the showers.

Unfortunately my wife and I arrived around midnight and had to leave early however from what we saw, this was a very nice, quiet campground.

Probably one of the nicest camping grounds I have ever been and the best of Iceland(?). Surrounded by nature (hills and riversand no noise pollution. With a clear sky a lot of stars visible and maybe some northern lights ;)Easy reachable by car directly after/before the tunnel. Especially if you take the northern route.Price per night was for us 1500 ISK per person, warm showers 3x 100 ISK for 5 minutes. There are two toilets and two showers. Another cabin provides some space for cooking and eating (two tables and some chairs). A lady came by (electriccar and collected the money.Highly recommend the trail behind the camping ground to see the surrounding area from up the Hill.

Perfect camping place!The location is really beautiful, there is a nice and cozy cooking area with enough space to charge your electronics, nice "private" and heated bathrooms, a river is flowing by the site which is also really nice and we loved the view.I would totally recommend staying here!

Clean, cozy, picturesque and quiet.Great campsite. One of the best we have been to in Iceland.Owner also came late in the evening to give us coins for the shower.Facilities very good. There is only one shower and two toilets but both very clean and heated as it’s cold in the evening/nights at the moment.

Fantastic place, very cozy and perfect clean! You have there everything what you need, included little, but important things like cooking oil or washing powder. The best camping weve been on Iceland❤

Nice place with all we needed for a good night sleep.

Pretty spot up in the hills. Lots of trees around changing colors. Had a small area indoors to prepare food. 2 WCs and one Shower(costs 200kr in coins). Washer outside but no dryer. Covered outdoor sink. No plugs in WCs to use hair dryer. Owner came around 2100 to collect fees. Provided change for the shower.

Gorgeous space with a washer, drying line, indoor cooking area if you choose to use it, and the cleanest (heated!bathrooms I’ve found at a campground here so far. The owner who collected our payment was lovely and our stay was so relaxing. Highly recommend!

One of the best camping at our one week trip, it was located between the mountains, with the great view. Showers and kitchen was clean, but it was quite small (one shower at the campsite).

Lovely campsite & views, clean facilities, 200ISK for a 5 minute hot shower which was really nice & powerful so good value.

Beautiful location on a tumbling stream, with very clean, heated bathrooms and a lovely indoor kitchen area. If you dont have cash for the shower you can get it from the owner when he comes by to collect payment for your site. Wish we had been able to stay another night to enjoy the area, and hike the historic Parliamentarians trail that runs right up the hill from the campsite.

Great little campsite just before the toll Bridge heading towards Akureyi. Had basic kitchen/bathroom facilities and electrical charging points for motorhome. We paid in the morning as arrived late. Very quiet and tranquil site. In contrast the akureyi campsite was very busy and charged for kids too Just! This was just perfect for us.

Best campground! Very relaxing.

Stayed here about a week ago. Only one other RV at the campground so I had a whole lovely lot to myself. Very peaceful area and nice to sleep with windows open to enjoy the creeksound.

It was one the best campsites we stayed in Iceland. It has shower (you should pay separately), toilet and washing machine. If you are a couple you can save money and take a shower together. The shower is a private room. The kitchen area was so clean and cute.

After driving for four days along the ring road with limited amenities, this beautiful campsite was so refreshing! Hot water, clean sinks for dishes, heated bathrooms and common area (with some cooking appliances). Had to pay for the stay and the showers but it was worth it. Showers were hot with good water pressure. Also RV hookups if you need.

Great kitchen area, hot water, shower additional but the guardian offered coins for anyone paying with credit card. Clean toilets and nice ambiance. Kitchen area has a few extras to help with cooking. There were a lot of mosquitoes which we haven’t seen anywhere else. Only two toilets which got a bit busy in the morning.

Amazing view, plenty of warm water, heated toilets and cooking area. 200 kr for 5 minutes of hot water in the shower. Owner collects the payment every evening and morning. Wouldnt hesitate to stay here again if Id be in the area. Best camping Ive stayed at this trip.

Very peaceful campground. Clean and nice. Someone was there to check us in, need coins for laundry and showers. We were able to purchase from attedent. Would definatly stop here again.

Very nice campsite! It had very clean facilities. You have to pay to use showers though. There was this cute little cabin that had a couple tables and chairs so you could eat in there. It was located in a nice area with hiking trails.

One of the most beautiful campsites of our trip! We camped here in June 2019 and had the campsite almost to ourselves! Its beautiful, close to nature. You have many hiking trails around the national park if you are keen on it!2x100 ISK coins per shower was extra. An indoor kitchen, replete with hot plate was available. Quite cozy and picturesque.Definitely recommended!

Perfect little slice of paradise. Clean, well maintained, cooking facilities and adjacent to a beautiful waterfall. What more could you wish for?

Very kind gentleman took our payment when we arrived to a very beautiful small campground. There is a waterfall adjacent to the property. We were allowed to choose our spot. Bathrooms and shower room is heated. There is a laundry machine and two covered outdoor sinks with hot water. Be sure to ask for coins for the shower (2x100isk coins for 5 minor laundry (4x 100 ISK coinsbefore you pay for camping as the signs say you can pay for coins with credit/debit. Also onsite is a small lodge with a few hot plates and a kettle for warming water.

Excellent campground not far from Lake Mytavn, but very private. We camped here in mid September and were one of maybe 4 or 5 campers at the facility. Facilities were clean and the location is beautiful.

Nice Place. Heated community building, hot showers and toilet. The landlord was not so talkative and we has to pay a tax here for the first time, but probably he is doing it the correct way. Setting is also very nice next to a small creek.

Best camping ground so far. Nice location. With 1400 crowns a very reasonable prize.There is a nice little cabin with tables where you can cook. Free wifi. Good, well heated and clean sanitation. Would definitely recommend coming here!

Stayed here sept 7-8. Site on the small side. Camp host creeped us out. He walked up as we were setting up our rent. Didn’t say a word. Just stared at us. Was about to ask if we could help him until I noticed his hip pack and carbon copy paper in his hand. He wrote a number down and I paid him what he wrote down. Hot water shower extra. One shower for the whole site. Kitchen area is ok but small. Electric kettle and burners for cooking. 1400 per person plus 300 per tent

Im so glad we stayed here. The heated, well-built toilet and shower were a welcome respite from the damp weather. Nicely appointed kitchen room. Outdoor washing station and clothes washer.1400kr per person plus 330kr tax. Very reasonable for a more nicely built campground in a beautiful setting.They come around and collect the money around dusk, and they take credit cards. The wife, who greeted us in 4 different languages, was very nice. She said her husband usually does the money collecting.As you can see it was not crowded when we stayed. There was one other camper van and some people with a tent that left before we got up in the morning.Free WiFi thats not too bad near the toilets.

We loved this campground. Freshly mowed grass. Facilities were clean. Great little space for cooking with hot plates and kettle plus 2 tables with plenty of chairs. Clean toilets and one shower (200 for 5 mins and really hot with good pressure). The camp warden comes around in the evening. The price for 2 people and 2 showers was a little over 3000 (you can pay with credit card and they will give change for the showers).

Favorite campsite so far in iceland. Not a lot of people, and a super neat site. Price normal (1400 per person + 333 tax), 200 for 5 mins shower and 400 to use laundry. No drier I believe.

It has only one hot shower (not includedand two bathrooms, but the camping was not crowded and they were enough. It has open-air sinks, a washing machine (not includedand a common room with basic cooking equipment and a couple of tables.

This was easily our favorite campsite so far in Iceland, it is our 6th night. Everything is well kept up, clean and new. Views are spectacular with a small creek and waterfall onsite. A few things to note and be prepared for:There is no reception office on site. The owners come morning and evening to collect payment and take credit cards with a portable machine. We are from the US and had no issues with that. We arrived at ~22:30 and the owner came by shortly after to charge us. Please note that showers are extra. 200 Kroners as of this writing for 5 minutes but totally worth it for clean and hot facilities. The owners will make change but you may want change ahead of time so that you don’t have to wait for them.There is a small dining hall and wash area that has hot plates and water heater for cooking. We ate breakfast and dinner in it and enjoyed it quite well. Bathrooms are also here. For campers there is gray water disposal and cleaning facilities along with fresh water to fill your camper. There is also a washing machine for 400 kroner with a clothes line for hang drying. Finally there is a nice small playground for kids and plenty of room to run. Almost forgot to mention FREE WiFi and plenty of outlets for charging electronics.The views are splendid and we can not recommend this location enough.

Awesome place, Great scenery, close to Hwy. water fall , River and woods all there. Minimalist but clean kitchen. WC are clean. Showers .

We camped out here for one night during our 10 day trip in Iceland. It was amazing! Such a quaint little campground. The staff was really nice and friendly. Also they now have a cozy little room with a cooking surface and a kettle, with tables and chairs to enjoy your meals at. We had a lovely experience camping here!

Very nice camp site. Quiet and close to a river. Everything you need is here: water, showers, small kitchen, and even WiFi! Not crowded at all and with about 15 euros per night a good price, too!

Careful! We were there last week of March 2018 and we couldnt access the camp ground. It looked like it was open from the road, but theres a little path to get to the camp ground that is not cleaned by the snowplough and it was not possible for us to get to it with a normal camper van. Apart from that, the location is perfect, close to a river and with great views of the dusk.

Nice quite spot, heaters in the wc ! Usual Small kitchen area which is semi outside which includes washing machine (400kr), oh the kitchen has hot water ( some campsite dont have anyand the one showers is 100kr for 5min. Bring your coins or get them from owner when you pay.

Really lovely campsite beside the river. Probably the best camping location Ive visited in iceland. Very tranquil. Cost is 1,400 krona per night, very cheap.
