Syri i Ciklopit in Burrel

DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS it will take you to the mountain on the other side, there is a big drop from there NO ACCESS!! you need to put skuttere in your maps drive through Krugga park in the village and hike down!! Quite a trek but worth it!

Not so easy to find, but that makes it better because its not so many people either. The path is a little bit steep but its a quite an easy path which I think everyone in decent shape can do. Very nice place with beautiful nature.

Dont do this with kids. It is not that hard to find but pretty dangerous hike.

One of the most amazing places in Albania! Make sure to not trust google malls for the hike instructions, ask the locals.

Didnt went all the way down because there was hardly any water flowing. Flew down with the drone which confirmed it was nothing special. This was in November, maybe not the right time to visit this place. Leave your car about 2km before, where the road turns to the right and gets really bad.

Amazing.Going down there was difficult,especially for somebody that is not in great physical activity.Be prepared.You need to take over food and drinks.And enjoy. :)

Amaizin place. We were ther for 5 hours in the middle of summer and we didnt meet no one 🤩.

Very beautiful. But there are 2 things to consider:1: the hike is very steep. So you need to be prepared.2: Albanian locals were there who where very religious/extremist. They told us we bave to go, because they are not allowed to see women in bathing suit. We were quite intimidated. Then we hearded them chanting and celebrating the victory of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

So nice and soft water. Dont miss the caves and tunnels that lead to this spring and pool 👌🏼

Was a beautiful place and best experience for me , i lost a path from maps but find from local people. Difficult terrain hiking and climbing. I make half road with bike. I have pinned the path , for going in Eyes of Cyclop is in front of the house

Nature is awsome.

The terrain is moderately difficult. You have to be careful and have the right equipment. The water was not clear when I visited so that was a disappointment. Make sure you get information if the water is clear before you visit as it will definitely ruin the experience but the nature and landscape was beautiful. Also there are no signs and dont follow Google Maps as it will not get you to the destination, ask people around as you head to Krrabë.

A good hicking day. The water was not so clear because of the rain a day before.

The Eye of the Cyclops or as it is otherwise called the Cyclops Trail is located about 4 km below Krraba, in the village called Skuterrë, in the valley of the river Erzen. It is about 20 m wide and 120 m deep like a gem hidden in the gorge of Krraba.A small abyss sits at the bottom of the Krraba rocks, and below it is a lake of emerald water, which is said to be the place where the beast breathed its last and left behind a heart-shaped lake. In short, this legend speaks of a huge beast (almost all Albanian legends have a giant or a cyclops), which, persecuted by the inhabitants of the area, after much damage it had caused, ended up just below these rocks. Like all the legends that the body and head have in the imagination but the legs are firmly rooted in the truth, even in this case, you can see some deep scratches on the rock and the wonderful heart-shaped lake.But the all-natural natural landscape around is no less stunning. A tributary of the Erzen River flows in the form of a small cataract, and together with the numerous rock formations they create a fabulous landscape. It can be said without fear that this natural point is one of the latest discoveries made by nature adventurers.The Cyclops eye has become a destination for relaxation and fun. In addition to the stunning view it creates the opportunity to swim during the hot summer days.

The view that we saw on August 29 this year (2019was shocking and very disappointing. Instead of the expected beautiful pond and waterfall with crystal and clean water we found a drain with a gray mud like a cement mortar. The smell was also similar. It is impossible to reach the Cyklop Eye yourself, because no information or signposts. Additionally, the location in Google Maps is wrong. After reaching the village of Krrabe it is necessarily to ask local people for help. They are friendly and helpful, and declare help for free. The path to Cyklop Eye is rather like mountain climbing, especially in the last stage. Some sections of the path are not safe. Therefore, I do not recommend to go there with babes or small children. Unfortunately we did this mistake. Positive aspects of the trip are beautiful views of the mountains and the possibility of meeting a turtle living in nature.

Cyclop Eye, stunning view, very relaxing spot, not really hard to reach, but I am glad this post is hidden from the public mass. There are two different roads that lead there, but only one is most known, the hardest. We were lucky we found a local guy that led us to the easiest path almost half of the time to the destination. If you really want to have a pure and wild nature experience you should really consider visiting this amazing nature eye!

Its a nice place to visit on Weekends , Its just 25 km from the Tirana Center. I sugges everyone to go and visit this.To go to the Cyclops Eye, in Albanian “Syri i Cikllopit”, you have to pass through a narrow path for about 1 hour by walking from the village of Krraba. Maybe it seems a little bit difficult to go there, but the views are worth to take this road. The path to the heart of Cyclops requires an adventure soul and willpower because the terrain in this area is a little difficult and you should be in good shape and health in order to become part of this journey. This is a good opportunity of tourism, where you can do hiking, bathing, and a fantastic way to replace swimming pools with natural ones. But to reach fast the destination, it’s better to have a licensed guide.

This is totally a hidden treasure of Tirana villages and it has a difficult terrain but its so worth it. Would recommend it especially for people who love mountains and hiking. You have to walk a long road and I recommend having with you food, fast snacks and water of course. Make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes👟 too 😉

A very attracting place in the depth of the mountain. Not so known until recently, Cikllopi eye is one of the most beatiful hidded place accessed very fast from Tirana downtown. A waterfall, wild nature and other elements ma ke this place a gem of attracting place to visit.

We could not reach the Syri i Ciklopit destination due to the bad weather, we were so close but dense clouds and fog came suddenly and covered us... but nex time we will reach it and bring pictures for sure.

Near Tirana, only 40 min to drive and 2 h to hiking.

Amazing spot just 40 min driving from Tirana. The hike is quite easy and once at the place you can rest and even swim during the summer.

Right destination to spend a weekend and have a great time. The terrain is not too hard and it gives wonderful views also the water is clear and cold.
