Sydney Hotel Amman in As Salt

Its a 5-star hotel amongst 1-star ones. Picked it based on reviews and very happy with the choice. My room was neat, nice lounge area for people to chill, free refreshment drinks. Note their breakfast starts at 8! They allowed me to make my own early breakfast in the kitchen. Finally staff that gives you a map inf info on things to do around!

Stayed for one night in this place: booked a hostel place: affordable, clean, AC, shower… what else do you need. Recommend

I had a good stay at Sydney Hostel in Amman. The room was suitable, and the bathroom was basic but worked well. I appreciated being able to use the laundry (for a small fee). The location is within walking distance of good restaurants and shops—a great choice for people wanting to see the sights and eat good local food. I would consider staying here again if I were in the area.

No clean WiFi is bad. Stuff bad altitude everything ia bad

Bad altitued the stuff. I book online but when i move my heavy suitecase here he say is booking problem. They dont have elivater. I carry my suitcase up and they say they dont have room..They are full so funny. The guy is very bad altitude.

Great little hotel in a perfect location for exploring the city. The rooms are clean and spacey, all the common rooms including the gorgeous courtyard are inviting and cozy.The staff was friendly and very helpful, if you stay in Amman this is a great budget option for a private room.One star deducted because the AC in our room was almost unusable cause it smelled like mold. Not a problem in the cooler nights, but during the day it got very hot in the room cause the windows are quite small.If you can, get a streetside room.Can definitely recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at the Sydney hotel. The hotel itself is quiet and located at walking distance from most attractions in downtown Amman. The staff are among the friendliest people you will meet and will gladly help you with anything that you need. They even arranged transport to and from the airport and a well priced hire car. I highly recommend staying here.

Room overlooking the road is quite loud. You definitely need a pair of earplugs to make sure you won’t be woken up by the noise coming from the traffic and a nearby mosque. When you weigh up pros and cons one needs to remember about a really good locations. Very close to the Rainbow Street and if you have time you can even walk to the Ammans Roman Theatre from there. No need for a taxi. Hotel staff are really nice and helpful too. (Photos taken near the hotel).

I loved the place, the staff, people i met in the hotel. The staff are so familar to everyone that you feel like home, they help you for everything and recomment you what you can do in amman. But i am really sure i will come back here again.

The staff members here are 5 stars. They are extremely kind even cared for me when I sprained my ankle from Petra. Also, they went above and beyond to make sure that taxi drivers did not cheat me. I would highly recommend this hotel. Its very affordable and even provides a free breakfast.

The staff were exceptional. Victor and Bassem were always there to make my stay very comfortable. The room was big, very clean, breakfast was fresh, location was convenient to explore the city.Highly recommend!

Hi !!I started visit Amman in OCT2016 . For all my trips in Jordan , this hotel was the best one and I stayed in this hotel for three weeks. The hotel was cozy and friendly staff . I will recommend it to everyone.

This hotel was fabulous. Well situated to get to downtown Amman (1 minute walk).Good amenities, safe, trustable, friendly and helpful staff.We were so happy and comfortable in the hotel, near to all what a tourist needs inside the old city,like shopping, Citadal the roman theater, Jordanien and Palastinen clothes, presents and foods etc.There’s an amarican man in the reciption called (Sarihe’s so cheerful, kindly and helpful.which makes the stay at the hotel enjoyable. he talks Fluent English, French and Arabic, very open minded.Some of the rooms are designed with scandinavian model, and they are clean and suitable for partner or family,You have as a guest laundry mashine to rent with very cheap fee available at the hotel,You have alot of suitable palces to smoke.Valuable experience & fair price for good serviceThe location of the hotel is my main goal and I really appriciate that because the hotel address is a part ofthe Old city Center which means I walked 50 meters to reach the main old city streetsYou have Rimbo street behind the hotel which has alot of night live as resturangs and cafe (Shisha).300 m to the most famous Hashim resturang.Gold Bazar and from there can you take cheap service Taxi (you pay for 1 personto any where of Amman.The best two Kenafa (famous sweetare close to the hotel.Sure when I will come again I will choose Sydney Hotel Amman.Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I stayed here for three weeks - good location, lads at the reception were very helpful and kind, and the hotel has a nice little backyard and lobby to work, study or just chill. Overall, it had more of a hostel vibe. You do hear a lot of the street noise, but I got used to it after a while.

Highly recommended. We were treated very well, the guy at the reception helped us in everything.

Rooms are large and clean. Bed is comfortable. I love the balcony. Staff are courteous and helpful. Hot water all day. If you’re travelling with heavy bags, the walk up the steps may be a challenge. Breakfast is basic but sufficient. WiFi for us wasn’t good. Walking distance from the popular restaurants, Hashem (vegetarianand shehrzad (non vegetarian). Few mins away from the famous yet boring rainbow street and 15-20mins from the Roman theatre and citadel.

We liked the stay over here. Facilities are very good along with hot water. Staff is helpful. Everything is at a walking distance, right from main attractions to rainbow street.

Really is a Hostel with some private rooms with bath next to the dorms & meeting/breakfast room. The staff is helpfull! At this price we cant expect a new building, but there were large steps to climb at 1st floor (no lift), easy street parking, location 200-400m to busy foody Old City area.Problems regarding the room poor insulated & furnished: NOT the room from PICTURES! no rack & wardrobe! no luggage stand! no chairs! no mirror! extremely hard mattress! no view!We can hear everyone passing on the corridor due of thin wooden door with 1cm bottom space.The window have NO soundproof, we can hear the hostel courtyard, and we cant open the window for fresh air.

Spend 3 nights in the Sydney Hotel. Very flexibel and efficient booking for a fair price. Breakfast is well provided and staff is very helpfull concering questions about the area and possible trips throughout your stay in Jordan. Nothing seems impossible here, just be cautious while negotiating a fair price ;)

Good WiFi, decent but repetitive breakfast. Hotel staff were helpful and informative. Location close to the Citadel and downtown and close to Tabarbour bus station for cheap micro bus ride(1 JOD per person each wayto Jerash ruins.The beds in the private rooms are just a bit firm for my taste. Checking my credit card, I got charged twice for my stay. The manager ran my card the first time and told me that the card either didn’t work or was declined(via broken English). When I told him it worked everywhere else, he ran the card again and it worked. I just checked my credit card statement online and I was charged twice. I am unable to call the Sydney Hotel since I don’t have free cell phone service in Jordan right now. I hope they see this review and cancel one of the charges. I also hope this was just a mistake and not intentional. My name is Teuksun Kim and I stayed there from March 22-25th.April 4th update. The hotel did go to their bank and had one of the charges reversed. While it was somewhat of a hassle to exchange a fair number of text messages back and forth, the Sydney Hotel did apologize and take care of the issue. Thanks!

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Situated within walking distance to citadel and rainbow street. I stayed in a private room, and not the dorms, so I dont know how they are. Hotel can help arrange transportation to the major sites and even helped me purchase a Jett bus ticket after it was sold out. Definitely would stay here again.

The staff are brilliant especially the drivers and man who works at reception late night. I stayed in an all female dorm room it was clean and warm. The location is great for going to Rainbow street and 1 Dina to get to the stations for shuttle buses if you want to visit Petra, dead sea.

Clean, good amenities in the dorm such as individual night light, key for the guests, white bed sheets. The people are straight forward. Good location.

You will never be able to sleep in this budget place. They have an annoying loud beep tone like a door bell which gives a sound the whole night thru, every 2 minutes. You must be dead to avoid this loud nice, or totally drunk. I have noticed this noice in one of the rooms connected to the inner courtyard and suppose it is a broken aircon generator.

clean and comfy,hot shower available all day which is not common in Jordan..I like the traveller vibes here , a good place to make friends..The owner arranged airport transfer early in the morning for me at a very good price

I stayed at Sydney for the 3 nights that I was in Amman. The hotel is in a great location where you can easily walk to the citadel, the Roman theatre, and grab food at Rainbow st. The best part of the hotel however is the staff. Passam (i hope I am spelling his name correctlyis truly the nicest person that I met in Jordan and does everything to make his guests feel comfortable and happy. The 3 nights that I was staying at Sydney, everyone talked about how amazing he is and how well he treats the guests. Truly amazing and really made my experience in Jordan positive :)

Very nice, clean hotel in downtown Amman. The people there are very friendly. They also offer free luggage storage for several days if you want to visit the rest of Jordan.

Cool and helpful staff. The services provided here are great and the place is close to Rainbow Street as well.Easily visible and provided with enough pamphlet to get information of not just Amman, but whole of Jordan.They will also help you in booking buses or cabs to various places.Highly recommended place to stay if you plan to visit Amman in Jordan.

The place is really close to the city center, however the directions offered how to get there werent great, the pillows were the worst ones I have ever slept on, the bed sheets were stained. Staff was ok polite.

I was very impressed from the very 1st email I sent. They responded quickly to all questions. They arranged for airport pickup which was handled quickly also. The place is quite, clean and a decent breakfast. I will stay again upon my return.
