Swiss Chalet in Kingston

Had a gift card I wanted to use up so after checking the desert menus for all the restaurants at division and 401, Swiss chalet was the only decent option. Went in the take out door because who wants to sit in an old dinning room for a meal.stood there for 15 mins before anybody even noticed I was there. Then ordering desert out of the 5 choices they only had to available which was very disappointing. Couldnt even get my favourite cherry cheese cake. It was still frozen she said. It was take out. Would have been fine but too much effort on there end I guess.

After we were seated, our waiter came and took our order promptly. After several minutes he returned to say they ran out of chicken, and asked if we wanted to wait 20 extra minutes till a fresh batch was done. We decided to wait and they ended up providing us with complimentary hors doeuvres. We were pleased with the service and how they handled the situation. Food tasted great!

Service was prompt, roast beef was excellent. Price was very reasonable. $19. Can’t speak for other meals as this was my first experience eating at Swiss Chalet in many years. Will definitely go back

No word of a lie I ordered take- out at 6:30 pm and it didn’t arrive until 8:15 pm!!I ordered online and had the worst time trying to figure out how to reach themThe Manager was nice, she sent a driver with a refund for me. The refund arrived 15 mins before the food. LOL. Needless to say the food was ice ice cold. Not worth even trying to eat.I will not be ordering from Swiss Chalet again.

Thanksgiving evening was pretty packed. Had to wait about 15 minutes for 5 people but was worth it. Im a tourist so this is my first time in this chain. The staff was super nice even though they had so many people in the restaurant. The food was really good. Excellent simple dinner, exactly what we were looking for.

Potatoes and dressing were barely warm and tasted terrible. Pie was a sliver not a slice. Price went up and portions went down. Chicken was good but wont order festive meal again.

Worked hard on thanksgiving and greeted everyone with open arms and positive attitude

Food was delicious, service was friendly and prompt.

Every time I order delivery from this location its over 30mins late. Even when I order it earlier. They need to work on their time.

We sat down with an hour and a half to kill until our movie started. We left minutes before, barely making our movie.Extremely slow service. Waitress never remembered to bring any "extras" we asked for - sauce, box to go...As we were leaving, after having paid online, we were told we didnt pay.Extremely unhappy. Will NOT go back to this restaurant!

Service was extremely slow. We were not greeted upon entry. I had enough time to use the unpleasant restrooms before even being acknowledged at the front. Once seated, we waited 10 mins for our server to come get our drink orders...which then took longer than it should have. The salad was wilty and the taste was mediocre. Servers were switched mid service. We finished out meals and then waited for 10+mins for our bill..I am sympathetic to shortages due to the pandemic, but this was a bit ridiculous. Disappointing.

Our waitress, Charlie, was great and we have ZERO complaints about her service.With that said, we ordered some perogies as part of our meal. For whatever reason one portion was salted and the other wasnt. We let the person who brought us these items (not our waitressthat we didnt order without salt, but rather than return it wed just take the salt and do it ourselves. She never bothered to bring it.We ordered 3 quarter chicken meals. The food took over an hour to come.....Oh and the chicken was some of the worst Swiss Chalet chicken weve had - it tasted so bland it couldve passed as boiled chicken.I understand the world is short staffed, but when we ordered take out we got our food delivered to our door, hot and properly flavored in 30 minutes. How is it possible that the eat in service be so pathetic?!Is this how restaurants plan on attracting customers nowadays?!

I had the Hot chicken sandwich, but the Crispy Chicken Ice Cream Sandwich looks interesting. And I do like the music they stream.

I was online on Sunday and ordered a chicken sandwich for pick up and unfortunately recieved the new Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Also unfortunately I would never order this due to allergies and had an immediate allergic reaction. I should have looked closer and realized it was not my usual sandwich but I was not paying attention, took a first bite and realized once I swallowed and my throat became extremely itchy and I started coughing and choking there had been a mistake. We had paid, picked up and had driven home so there was no sense in driving all the way back on a holiday and so my early supper then had to consist of fries only as the sandwich was not able to be eaten by me. I checked my online order to confirm I had ordered correctly and I had. I would never say Ill never be back because usually its great but its definitely going to be a while.

Very convenient location off the 401. Food is fresh, staff are friendly. Restaurant is clean.

Very disappointing experience!! We are from out of town and usually go to Montanas but decided to go here as we love our local Swiss Chalet. When we first got there our table was extremely sticky. After 15 mins a waiter and a trainee finally came over to ask us for our drinks at which point I asked politely if we could have a different table because it was extremely stinky. The waiter said we couldn’t have a new table but she’d get a cloth for us (which was fineand took our drink order. Another 15 mins went by and the trainee came over to wipe our table for us (which was still stinky afterwards but we just sucked it up). When we finally placed our orders in we sat there waiting 30mins for our meal. Which I could understand if we ordered ribs but all we ordered were sandwiches. Our waitress never came back to ask us how our food was. We wanted re-fills on our drinks but couldn’t because our waitress was nowhere to be seen. When we were done we sat there waiting for our waitress to get our check but she never showed up. After waiting 10mins when we were done I had approached the first employee I saw and asked for our receipt and the employee told me that’s not her job to do and our waitress would be over soon. From our tables we saw the employee talking to the waitress staring at our receipt laughing than she put it down and walked away to do other stuff. In the future I am just going to continue to go to Montanas as there I am treated with respect and not ignored.

Service was friendly, meal was served hot and on time. Very accommodating.

Disappointing service. We were sat and then not spoken to for 20 minutes. They were busy so we waited patiently. The servers all avoided eye contact and ignored us. After 20 min some one said they wpuld be right with us and then never came back. After another 20 minutes we left. The host at the door said nothing as we walked out.

Easy to take 2 littles on your own. Fast, simple and not expensive ♡♡ great staff at this location!

Ordered the new fish and chips. Decided to do caesar salad instead, oops dry as a popcorn fart. Fish was mostly batter and dry. Server never did any check backs until we were finished eating. Told him the issues with the meal and just shrugged it off and said oh. Never offered to make anything right. Just...Oh. 10 minutes later do you want anything else? Nope.... ok. Now been waiting 15 minutes for the bill. 💩😡

food was okay but restaurant hung up when called to ask about the order. Call center representative was unhelpful and said "its not my problem" when an item wasnt delivered

Very disappointingTook the double leg meals times two. Chicken was rubbery, no skin, barely cooked. One meal 4 bites, wife threw out. Sad. This location has went downhill . Keep going back hoping it was just previous bad experience. Wont be back

Whenever we visit Kingston, this is one of our must stop restaurants. Love the chicken and sauce here. And its been recently updated so it has a really nice decor as well. Great restaurant to bring the family. Also worth leaving space for a slice of pie.

Pretty good food. Predictable at least.Not as organized as it should be. You will wait 10 minutes no matter how you order.I went in at noon and paid for a 5.30 pickup.At 5.30 I went to the pickup counter. After 5 minutes a gentleman reviewed my order and went for it. At 5.45 I left with it.People send me there because they love the meals. I would not go on my own.. the best SHAWARMA in Canada is 1 block west of Swiss Chalet

We really enjoyed our food, it was delicious and the festive menu is out. The service was great except the server dropped a entire gravy on my husbands favorite pair of white running shoes :(

The fellow at the drive-thru window was extremely nice, brought our food out to us.Very pleasant and thoughtful as he added my sauces so I didnt have to.My Caesar Salad was amazing.Thank you 😊

Food was nothing special. The portions of meat were very small. Everything tasted very bland as if it was heavily processed or prepared in mass quantities. The service was good and resultant was clean. The chairs were falling apart a bit. Not somewhere I would go again

Went to dine in. I had vaccine passport as well as photo ID. My son had student ID and vaccine passport. Was told it had to be government. We tried to arrange his health card be sent to my phone but decided to order on take out side of restaurant because we were unsure how long it would take. Moments later I received the health card for my son. We asked if we could now switch to dining room as our food was still being prepared in the kitchen and was told no. No I could not eat our food from Swiss chalet in Swiss chalet even though we had all the proper identification. I asked to speak with management. After stating our case she was helpful and accommodating. Then when I arrived at host counter to provide proof of our ID another male staff decided he wanted to start badgering us, telling us we would have to clean up our own garbage and that these werent the proper rules. Keep in mind the food was still being prepared in the kitchen, we had not been given anything yet. This was a very disappointing experience at the Swiss chalet just off division Street in Kingston. I know covid has made times tough but service industry needs to remember people dont need to come out and support businesses if they are going to be treated like garbage.

First time here, fast service and friendly staff. Im a very picky eater and usually always change what i order off the menu in some way and they checked with me to make sure it was right. Could not have asked for a better experience. Thanks Swiss Chalet it was amazing 🙂

I ordered 86 dollars worth of food and received rock hard fries that we were unable to eat. My ribs were great but I wont be ordering again. Very very very disappointed. If I could give no stars I would have. Goodbye swiss chalet.

Not very clean disgusted actually!!No hand sanitizer at entrance and the young man there didn’t enforce the hand washing !!The waitresses do not wash or sanitize hands in between clients/tables which to me is a concernSocial distance is pushed to its limit to maximize profit…Still tipped and respected the staff but they need to clean up there safety measures betterOne table the client was picking and eating his snotNot sure how well they clean there tables if there disinfected or just wiped downBuilding could use better air circulationAnd better safety standards against COVID-19 protection protocolsStaff needs to change there masks ever few hours as guidelines suggest

Ordered 1/4 chicken takeout/pickup. 10 min drive to home and chicken was sitting at 90F. Contacted restaurant and they replaced the meal and delivered it to me. The next chicken that arrived was 110F. Little warmer but not hot, but it was fresher and the fries were warm and not cold like the previous order. They did try to make it right but I would prefer if they did it right the first time and not serve me 2 hr old dried cold chicken. I will not order from them again. I will try to support the mom and pop shops in town who need help during this pandemic.

Had swiss chalet tonight. Order online and picked up. The piece of fish was small and overcooked. Similar to an old leather belt. The chili was $7 and it was tiny. Smaller than my pop can. The wrap was bland and the white meat chicken that i paid extra for had bone in it. The restaurant had a separate section for pickup orders so there was no wait.

First time here. I like it very clean great stuff love the layout new Decor looks pretty new but the servers the staff manager I think they are very attentive and care about the restaurant I would highly recommend. At that time they also have the French fry dessert really tempted to try it but Im on a strict diet but if I wasnt the French fry dessert with an ice cream on top look really good. Sadly I had my usual salad

Comfortable, efficient service with a smile. Lots of room and no waiting to be served. Excellent service by Claudine. Food was nothing special, chicken was a bit dry actually but a good place for a quick stop while travelling the Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal corridor if you dont want to fight the crowds at the other fast food places near by.

Nice swiss chalet. Swiss chalet has a significant amount of gluten free options. Unfortunately they are not set up in a convenient way to find something to eat. None the less a good meal.
