Swiss Chalet in Peterborough

I use to love going here to eat but Im finding the chicken portions are small. The birds are tiny compared to yrs ago

Trying to use Scene points with Swiss Chalet is a scam. Voucher says Scene points used, Scene says points used, delivery driver says nope the points didnt apply and makes me pay full amount. Call and tell the manager who says there will be a credit applied but then no credit happens and they of course have no record

Worst swiss chalet experience. Salad had brown lettuce, my sandwich had hardly any chicken in it. Our lemon meringue pie had hardly any lemon. Waitress argued with me about my sandwich.

I had the chicken pot pie which was awesome except for the horrid biscuits they put on top now. The actual pie crust was so much better

Stood at the door waiting to be seated for 10 minutes. Employees just kept walking by and looking at us with no acknowledgement. We ended up leaving and going to another restaurant.

Despite ordering ahead for a specific time, delivery arrived late, and food was cold.

Ordered at 5:22pm by phone, was told around 45 to 50 minutes. It’s 8pm and I’ve been waiting 2 hours in the parking lot…

Waiter was fabulous. Food was good as always. We are regular weekly customers. But ridiculously understaffed for the load tonight. Kitchen trying to keep up to takeout orders while dine in customers waited over an hour for there meals. We waited an extra hour for a take home meal that was put in while we were eating. Felt very sorry for the waiters and waitresses. They were not able to offer patrons any discount or complimentary anything to compensate for this frustrating situation. Very annoying watching skip the dishes and other people walk out with food while you wait to eat. Extremely disappointed with the management for how this evening was handled.

Waited over 40 mins in my car only to give up and go back in. The young lady at the counter hands me my food. The food is cold so how long was it sitting there? ALSO, I was missing part of my order, (the gravy part of a hot chicken sandwichand the spring rolls were over cooked! So frustrating and disappointing.

Good food reasonablely priced, quick and courteous service

Food was tasty but my chicken leg was very small with little meat on it. Definitely shrunk their chickens

Our food was cooked to perfection. We loved freshly fried fries & moist chicken. Also, white wine was served in ideal temperature. Our server was very polite and friendly. Looking forward to visit again soon! :)

Love this restaraunt. Always know youll get good food, good service and good price. Easy parking; easy access; good booths for private conversation.

Had a very good lunch at Swiss Chalet today with my daughter. We had 1/4 chicken dinner, crispy chicken sandwich and coconut cream pie. Everything was delicious and great portion sizes. Excellent service. Did not wait long at all even though they were busy.

Unfortunately its not like it used to be. Portions are smaller, the service isnt as attentive and the food just doesnt taste as good. There wasnt anything particularly wrong during my most recent visit but the value just isnt there anymore.

Never fails to provide a delicious meal. We had the " bundled" quarter chicken dinners. One of us got spring rolls, the other got cheese perogies. Both delicious. I have had this restaurant deliver meals to my home in Peterborough. Arrives hot and delicious

My wife and I visited the Lansdowne location on Sat July 30 2022. What a mistake. The service terrible even though it wasnt busy and the chicken and fries when arrived were not even warm let alone hot. Worse experience ever and couldnt justify a tip. The server couldnt understand my frustration. In the age of Covid where eatery are fighting for your dollar its unbelievable this is going on. Will NEVER step foot in this restaurant again. Better outcome at at a fast food restaurant!

Ive been to this location twice now in the last month and each time the food was great while service was prompt and friendly. If you like Swiss Chalet, you will enjoy your meal at this location for sure!

Either you like Swiss Chalet or you dont. We do. If you were born & raised in Canada, youve probably been to one at least a few times. If youre a newcomer to Canada and like chicken, give em a try.I really liked this particular location. It hasnt been updated to the newest styles, which tend to be a bit more cold in ambiance. I preferred the older retro look & feel this location had. Has a 70s -80s feel to it.When we arrived I looked along the south wall, which was solid windows and wooden blinds, with booths all along the wall. Looked like a diner from an old movie. We sat in one of those booths, overlooking the parking lot which is surrounded by trees on the west and south sides, which made the dining experience pleasant.The food was good, the usual Swiss Chalet taste, and reasonably priced (we had a coupon, lol). The waitress was pleasant and knew some history of the restaurant (this Swissy was about 40 years oldas she had grown up in Peterborough and remembered what used to be there before this Swiss Chalet opened.I dunno...it was one of my more pleasant dining experiences of late. I loved the location and Ill be back. I felt like I had found a hidden gem.To the owners of this location, if you ever read this review, PLEASE!, keep this locations retro look & feel.

Yesterday I was there at swiss chalet. Was leaving and fell in parking lot between 530/6pm. You need to get that parking lot fixed. My knee is all scraped up. My left hand bruised. You definitely need to get the parking lot fixed . If it would have been a senior with a walker be worse. Please get your parking lot fixed.

Everything was absolutely fantastic today.The food was fresh, hot and delicious and the service was amazing.

Tried to order online. Wouldnt work. Tried to call the number proveded. Server error and I got cut off. Tried to call the store. Need an extension, but the website doesnt give an extension. No way to just get through to someone. Was going to leave a message, but need a mailbox number.Its like they dont even want any business.

Doesnt matter which one you go to, you are guaranteed a consistent, delicious meal that everyone in our family loves!

Have always had fond memories of eating at Swiss Chalet on Lansdowne in Peterborough since I was kid. We ordered our favourites - the 1/4 chicken dinner, with a few other meals, as there were 8 of us. We added a twist, four of us ordered the poutine. Unfortunately, they didnt include two of our poutines that were ordered, but we didnt know until we had driven our food home to eat. We called the restaurant and they were so apologetic, they sent a delivery driver out right away with the missing poutines, and they included another one for free, along with a bag full of m&m packages and lindt chocolates - so thoughtful and nice. Love our local Swiss Chalet. After COVID cant wait to eat there in person again.

Went to peterborough Landsdown location was 720pm was informed close at 8 pm like on a Friday night wow but we were only going for soup perogies and fries so be fast the chicken soup i usually love tonight was disappointing first was luke warm so we sent both back server went and got us hot fresh bowels from the take out side worst soup I have ever ordered it had bones in it ,veins all through the meat was awful my hubbys was fine I could not eat it i told the server she took almost whole bowel away fries perogies were ok was ticked that they charged me for the soup which was still full will be a while i order from there again worst

Ordered ahead at 5:42, told it would be ready in 1/2 hour. Did my banking and got gas after driving into town for my pick up. Did I mention the East Side Mario’s delivers to me but Swiss Chalet in the same plaza won’t !!! Got to restaurant @5:24 and was told it would be another 20 minutes waiting for white meat! That means my order is now taking them double the time I was told and I am waiting in the cold for 30 minutes with no forewarning!!! Plus I just saw a person returning food they already had delivered to their car and the girl behind the counter took it directly into their kitchen !! WE ARE STILL IN A PANDEMIC !!! You don’t take food back !!!

We had a birthday dinner at Swiss Chalet on Lansdowne street west. We waited one hour before our order for drinks was taken. Our food order came 45 minutes later. This is ridiculous and there was our table and one of 3. Not busy time

Food was great, waitress was very nice, but receiving our order was extremely slow!! From time ordered to time on the table was an hour and 15 mins! Also it was not busy at the time. Super slow, otherwise good

I had a craving as this was one of my fave places b4 Covid. Sag to say slow service, no napkins, or finger bowl or even wet ones with rib and chicken order. I finished a 18oz waiting for food to come plus 5 or 10 minutes

This location had lovely service but oh gosh was the chicken ever super dry! It was almost NOT edible without the sauce. The new fried chicken is also such a fail.

Managers at this location have no idea how to run a business. 95% of the time your order will be wrong and cold.They leave their young staff to deal with their incompetence as they (the management cowers in the back, unable to deal with the frustrated customers who have been waiting for over an hour.To top it off, I cant fathom how, but I recieved chicken that was fridge grade cold.... Was It cooked? Is it microwaved? What is going on at this location?

Ordered from Uber for delivery..worst food I have ever gotten...Very sad as I love Swiss Chalet. CHICKEN half was so salty could not eat it...fries were very soggy..cajun fries same as regular..ribs were good. Chicken was very very dry and husband said it was making him sick. THEN went to write review and was cut off so.I could not...do better!

Ordered a half chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. First time the chicken was over cooked and the gravy was congealed and lumpy. They replaced my meal with ¼ dinner so not even what I ordered and again the gravy is congealed and lumpy. Gross

Ordered a family pack for curbside pickup, the phone person asked when I would like to pick up, I said 15 minutes, she said fine, order was not ready at takeout, the person said wait in your car, 47 minutes later I went back into takeout, really sorry, busy night, but all the curbside orders came out at the same time, people on either side of me who had been waiting even longer, so presumably sit down customers are a higher priority. A LITTLE TRUTH WOULD BE APPRECIATED, IF YOU MEAN AN HOUR SAY AN HOUR AND I WILL HAPPILY SHOW UP AN HOUR LATER. If the kitchen staff are frantic and the restaurant is full you know that order will not be ready in 15 minutes, please just say so.

Normally excellent but not so today. Order a 1/4 chicken white with fries and requested fresh fries. Fries appeared to be reheated and extremely dark and dried out. The chicken, although not overcooked appears to have been sitting out much longer then it should. Even dipping in sauce the meat was still quite dry. Perhaps the food is not being turned over quick enough due to the pandemic. Went at 3:20 PM. Before the dinner rush and after lunch. I wait until dinner rush next time.

The worst Swiss Chalet I have ever attended and the staff was very inattentive and served the smallest 1/4 chicken dinner I have ever seen. (No bigger than the dinner bunyou will see by the pictures. Need I say more.

Simple, clean, friendly. Food was good as usual. Can’t go wrong with Swiss chalet if you’re looking for a quick and easy sit down meal out.
