Belgian breakfast-&-lunch nook presses sweet & savory Liège-style waffles in a counter-serve space.
I’m sure it’s wonderful but it’s closed (3/26 and 3-27...). Call before you make the trip. We will visit you next time Sweet Iron!
First time here. Picked up two waffles to go, handed out by nice and friendly guy through the front door less than 10 minutes after placing online order. My lunch partner and I agreed that it is magnificent food. She had the strawberry, I had the Elvis. A++ yummy all the way around, hope they can stay open during The Plague.
TLDR: literally a waffle cooked on a sweet iron. Yum!Parking is every one for themself around here--street parking or garage parking only. This place is extremely small. There are about 4 tables. Its like a very small coffee shop--go there just for the food and walk away--Im pretty sure thats what most people do in the city: walk and talk. They provide compostable plates and utensils for this kind of convenience--grab and go.Menu is located at the register.Service: order and pay at the register, your order will be called, water yourself to the left of the register, grab utensils when you pick up your order, bus your own table.Brie, Basil and Bacon Waffle: wow so savory! I love the sweet crunch of the sugar bits under the waffle! The basil goes so well with the bacon and cheese--whod have thought it would be such a tastebud pleaser? I love how the bacon is cooked just right and not too soggy or burnt to a crisp.
The attached photo shows that the waffle I got at Sweet Iron had burned flakes all over it. This tells me that they don’t clean their waffle makers, completely unacceptable and a health hazard. I was extremely disappointed given how expensive it is and the high reviews it’s gotten.
3 stars because the lack of seating was awful. There is only seating for less than 12 people or so. We stood around for at least 15 minutes trying to eat our waffles and drink coffee standing up. We didnt have a place to set our cups or plates down even. Waffles were outstanding and the coffee was good. Great place for a quick bite to eat if you dont need a place to sit.
OMG.... this place is awesome. Liège waffles are delicious beyond belief. Yummy soft yeast dough. Over the weekend tried all the savory waffles. My tastebuds were super delighted. I would eat there every day if I could. 💜
We indulged in the amazing brioche waffles this tiny, dreamy place has to offer, along with a sweet up of hot choc. Thank you
Delicious. Filling. A special treat. There is not a lot of seating, although everyone is friendly and does well to eat and leave the table quickly to free space. It does take a while to get your order as there is only a small group of employees, although it was worth the wait. The waffles where delicious from the Brie and bacon waffle to the simple Nutella waffle. The coffee was good, with a full body and very flavourful. The waffle making process is creatively displayed so guests can watch the process happening.
Went there one time and don’t think will go again. Not friendly staff. No service. I also expect facing customer, service food staff very on top of hygiene...Place is expected to open at 7am per website and per note on the door but had to wait past 7am (in the morning coldfor them to open at around 7:15am.Location: downtown Seattle, on 3rd, in front of the light rail. Convenient as centralWas disappointed by the waffle, no taste, this is not the Belgium waffle at all.
Great for a quick and easy portable meal or snack. Limited seating inside. You can get sweet or sweet n savory variations on the waffle theme.
Overcrowded, overpriced, and not fresh. I was expecting my $8 waffle to be a perfectly crispy, fresh Belgian waffle with a soft center but instead got a hard, cold, tasteless waffle with a mountain of whipped cream. The store itself is also way too small and terribly unorganized. Everything about the experience was pretty dismal except that the waffle looks pretty.
Cold, hard and bland waffles. Bad coffee and not very helpful staff. Could be nice place if waffles were fresh and hot. Cute atmosphere.
Loved the waffles here. Had never knowingly tried Liege waffles before. They had quite a few options, savory and sweet. So of course i had to try both! Tried the Italian savory waffle with Prosciutto. It was great! Also tried the chocolate dipped waffle which was rich and saturating and a heavier dessert than i expected. This place is a must try for the uninitiated!Only con would be the lack of table space for sitting down and eating. But going by its popularity, that is probably a good problem to have. To-go waffles are equally delicious.
Amazing waffles. For bacon lovers, get the Triple BBB. There are kid friendly options, and the ambience is small and cozy.
Great tasting waffles and nice ambiance.
Both the sweet and savory waffles are absolutely delicious!!! The banana bruleé and bacon, basil and brie were incredible!
Delicious Belgian waffles, I only tried the sweet because most of the savory has ham which we dont eat...
Really great food and service. The inside of the restaurant itself is very small, so if you expect to sit, come at a time when its not so busy. Otherwise the food is fantastic, the waffles are great, and the toppings are freshly made.Even with a smaller setting, and the people waiting to sit, I was not rushed or asked to hurry.
Small and comfy place, quick service, decent waffle. Matcha latte lacks true flavor of green tea.
The waffles here are delicious and at a good price. I enjoyed the nutella waffle. One doesnt seem like much, but it will fill you up. The latte was fine with many non dairy options. The seating here is VERY limited. Only seats 12 so you will likely do carry out.
The bruleed bananas with salted caramel & whipped cream waffles I got were awesome. I took them to go, so the whipped creamed melted a bit. Ill be coming back to have this again. People were friendly as well.
I LOVE this place! Fair warning the location on 3rd is tiny (I believe the sign says theres seating for 12BUT dont let that dissuade you from coming in. I dont think theres anything on the menu that isnt good. The prices are great and the portions are great. If you havent tried it you should..... You WONT be disappointed. (Pictured are the berry compote and the strawberries and cream)
Berry compote waffle had a perfect mixture of fruit and taste. Waffle batter made from brioche. Had the 8 ounce Latte which was perfectly created. Small seating area but keeps moving.
The Nutella waffle was delicious! If you are into sweet things, check this place out!
Amazing waffles, friendly staff but low-grade matcha
Great service and fantastic food. The berry compote was so delicious! I also added Nutella to my waffle- best choice ever. My husband also loved his Brie bacon and basil waffle. Not much seating but easy in-and-out for a quick bite.
Great food! Somewhat expensive, but fair for the location. The main issue with this place is the lack of sitting, it is very uncomfortable to eat your food while someone stares you down, waiting to take your seat immediately after you are done.
Mediocre overpriced waffles. The banana brulee waffle was good and the presentation was nice but they were very skimpy with the toppings and there was nothing really special about it.
Delicious waffles, first found them years ago. Would recomwnd the terky cheese and raspberry jam savory waffle.
Super tasty food. Dining is super cramped and there is no where to really wait for your food if it’s crowded. Door opens funny and hits you if you’re trying to get out of the way. Food was fresh and definitely tasted homemade.
This is a great place for a quick bite before a Symphony matinee. The waffles here are wonderful! Savory creations like the turkey, havarti, and raspberry waffle; or the brie and basil waffle, complement more traditional sweet toppings of Nutella, ice cream, and hot fudge. The dining room is small, but there is sidewalk seating on nice days. Try the Ovaltine latte while you are there!
Workers are so friendly, and the Belgium styled waffles are made fresh in both a variety of savory and sweet flavors. They have drink options too and their food is an awesome guilty pleasure that you definitely wont be guilty about (no overly processed foods in them). I like how they have reusable cutlery plates to save on producing waste. Theu have an option of take out and dine in which is great. Interior is oh-so-so cute!!! Love this place, one of the best waffle places I have been to. Got the berry compote and my friend got the banana Ice cream one.
Perfect place for a brioche waffle! Sweet or savory, youll definitely have a favourite here. I couldnt help but dig in. The presentation is much better on a plate. My only complaint is because it is a small place, expect to either wait for a table or just opt to take yours to go.
Loved all the options! If you are a tourist this is a must go to place. #Instagramable I have a big sweet tooth so i decided Nutella and strawberries and it was perfect. The place itself is a little small but completely worth it. I did go early in the morning and beat the rush. Will definitely recommend and will try the savory next time around.
Mmmmh... Delicious authentic homemade waffles! I had one with strawberries, Nutella and whipped cream and it was great. The staff is very friendly and helpful, however even though they werent too busy, no one came around the counter to clean the tables or rearrange the chairs.I paid around 14 dollars for the waffle and a small mocha which is quite a lot but it was worth it.
By far the best waffle Ive had. Very sweet and airy but just the right amount of crisp. Highly recommend. But good look with a seat as it is small. But still amazing.
The waffle batter is so good here! Its made with pearl sugar which holds form after baking so you can taste the sugar crystals. I tried the savory flavored waffles; the Brie bacon basil, proscuitto green onion waffles are super satisfying. This place is pretty quaint inside but the staff is friendly and the vibes are good.
Great little place to get fantastic waffles. Great variety for both the sweet and savory selections. A good unique place to get some food and some coffee.
Amazing waffles!! Must visit, the latte and mocha were great too.
Really yummy waffles. Very fresh and just the right size for a light breakfast or a snack. The interior is small but cozy with friendly staff. The chai tea was also really yummy!
Love all the waffles we ordered, especially the Prosciutto, crème fraiche & green onions one. This is the first time that I have a savory waffle, and it totally blows me away, changed my views completely. Waffle could have more flavors than just sweet!
This place is worth a visit. Their waffles are very delicious! And they also have good coffee. The place is nice but little small though. I had a great experience here.
A fantastic breakfast spot nestled in a tiny location. The waffles are tasty and theyve got sweet or savory styles. There isnt a lot of seating, so plan your order to go so you can be pleasantly surprised when theres an open table. They make great (Stumptowncoffee too.
Fantastic breakfast experience! We were in a hurry and thankfully quickly found an open parking space not too far away (there is no parking lot). Ordering at the counter was fast and easy, staff was friendly and helpful. Seating is limited but at 2 pm on a Sunday, it was not very busy and we did not have a wait. Per staff recommendations, we tried the Basil Brie Bacon savory waffle and the Speculoos sweet waffle with strawberries added. Both were excellent, we ordered another one to go for family and well definitely be back (and looking for the Trader Joes cookie butter thats on the Speculoos— amazing!).
Small place but the waffle I had was delicious. Its really all about your choice because some of the options might be a bit... different. Staff was nice but they were out of certain things when I was there, which is dissapointibg but understandable. Would come back again!
Friendly staff and delicious food. I had the Nutella Waffle and a Latte both were fresh and tasty
Delicious little waffle shop!! Little is key tho. There isnt much seating. However, the waffles are made fresh with both sweet and savory options. I didnt have any beverages but they offer an assortment of coffee, teas and juices. Everything appeared to be of excellent quality!
Good, but over priced. Staff is friendly, service was fast. At noon on a Thursday there was no wait. But for 3 waffles and 3 drinks the bill was over $40, which felt excessive. But, the waffles are really, really good.Theres not a lot of seating, so if you come at a busy team there may not be a place to sit and eat.
A fun little waffle place you should try. Just look at the picture! Portions are a little bit too small for the prices they charge but its worth it.
Delicious Belgian waffles!! Savory and sweet options, really enjoyed this place. Good tea and great coffee as well.
