Amazing food as always and cant be beat on a sunny afternoon. Staff were getting slammed but still managed to deliver prompt and professional service. However second time now the manager on duty was rude and uninviting, not just to us but other customers too. Such a shame when the location and food are so amazing. Need management that can handle a busy service

Even though we went without a booking on a Friday, they were able to accommodate us. Snapper was very good!And even have a lottle manta ray swimming out in the harbor 😊

Very keen seafood addicts we were struggling to find a place in Auckland CBD for seafood when finding Swashbucklers online with good reviews. Service was good and staff friendly. Had the platter for 2 and a calamari entree. Deep fried gurnard was good, scallops good. The rest of the seafood was very average with minimal flavor. Calamari was just deep fried cold rings of nothing. Shrimp tasted like nothing and unfortunately the worst oysters ive ever had....Quite disappointing. Dont understand the good ratings. Seasonings on some of the un..... frozen non fresh cooked seafood may help.

Love every bit of this place, always performs. The food , the staff the prices are always fantastic it is such a pleasure dining here or just a few drinks and snacks. The decor and view are unique making this place a must visit.

We booked in for Saturday 27th August under Bruce entree for me was scallops was disappointed very small for $23 and also order wine was not cold been going there for just under 6 years not sure if we will be back. Also drive was from papakura.🙁

best seafood in Auckland that you could imaginemy family and I have been customers for almost 10 years and every single time we enjoy our food, wonderful service and friendly staffs. Our favourite is the seafood platter. I love the fact I get to enjoy fresh seafood with great portion sizes.

This place was amaziing. Immediately entering, service was on point being greeted by two super friendly staff.The atmosphere is nice and relaxed.Food was delicous and very generous in size. I ordered the pllatter for one as seen in the photo, it was so worth the cost compared to alot of overpriced places in the city. Only 38$ for 2x Battered gurnard, 2x big salmon rolls, 2x oysters, 3 or 4x crumbed scallops, 4x king prawns.6 mussels and a heap of shrimp. I couldnt eat it all so had to take rest home. Sticky date was delish too and generous size. Kids meals were huge too my son had the fettuccine.Equally a Highlight was our waiter. His name was Carter he made the night for me and my son, i even left a tip which is very very rare. Highly recommend this place.

Fast service and we had booked. They were kind to accept us is being late. We had Pirates Platter and Calamari mains. Pirates Platter was delicious and Calamari was filling. Easy to find restaurant easy to find parking. Good value for money. There was alot of space around your own table. Great location. Highly recommend.

The venue ambience was more like a pub. The carpet smelt stained of beer from the years previous. Food was ok, I wasnt impressed, quite disappointed at the range of seafood available. Im glad to have experienced it, wont be back.

We had the best steak I’ve ever eaten here and that’s saying something. Especially for a seafood restaurant. We will definitely be back. The staff are super friendly too and very accommodating. Great place to enjoy a meal.

We were in the public bar and the atmosphere was great and the selection of drinks was good. Would have liked a few more options for craft beer, though. The low roof made things feel a bit cramped but some might say it made things cosy. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

The seafood was beautifully fresh and delectable, we ordered the chowder and a platter for two and savoured every bite! Generous portion sizes and whilst we managed to get through most of it we had a sizeable portion come home with us for a yummy midnight snack. My personal favourites were the king prawns and the mussels. We also ordered a kids meal and the pan seared snapper was so fresh and delicious that even our picky 2 year old absolutely devoured it. The service was fantastic, they were very accommodating of our small family putting us at the perfect table which was out of the way with plenty of space and our waitress was warm, friendly and attentive to our needs. The owner also came over to say hello and check in on us and the kids throughout the evening which made us feel so welcome. Thank you team for a lovely experience, we couldnt have asked for better 😊

Good experience. Wait staff were great. Ordered eye fillet with Mushroom and fries for $38 and the seafood platter for 2 for $85 including calamari which was an extra $10. I wasnt disappointed but I wouldnt be back in a hurry.

Fantastic service from our French waitress and the food was awesome. We had our elderly uncle with us and all the staff were extremely helpful. Swashbucklers has the most amazing seafood on their menu and some fantastic steaks. Recommended. 2022 update: the service is still great and the beer cold!

Average service and rustic little pirate house.Platter for 1... loved that it wasnt all deep-fried however the non deep-fried fSeafood was fridge cold including the steamed mussels, highlight was the little sauce dish that came with it.

Its one of those places Id rather not highlight because then they will become too popular and wont have room for us. The name days it all, a great pub in a "secret cove" location. Best on a warm day so you can enjoy the outside atmosphere.

Started of rocky as we had added an extra person without letting them know. So as the manager said "it was a big problem" not the best greeting. However we found a table outside which worked out better. The size of the meals for what you pay for is excellent value for money. The drinks however really over priced. Staff were friendly enough but not overly engaging. We ordered oysters, platter for 3, steak, garlic prawns, seafood chowder, fries. Food came quickly and was fresh and hot. I would go back again and if you love seafood definitely go.

Great seafood and vibes. It might come across a bit cheesy with the pirate theme but the staff know how to serve good seafood and generally good service. Some of the best fresh seafood weve had. The mussels are a treat

Owner is very quick to find us a table. We are after table on the outside and it was full. We did not make any booking hence he sat us inside the bar and tell us to feel free to sit outside once theres an empty spot. Seafood was really fresh and service was quick. On the plus side price is also very reasonable.

Great food. Fantastic service. Really friendly and attentive waiter. Seats were a bit uncomfortable. No cushions which seems to be a NZ thing. Shrimp cocktail was a bit underwhelming. Good atmosphere and sound track. Ate the brownie too fast. Was perfect. Good $$$

One of the kids wanted to go for their birthday, Im vegetarian so was a bit worried about what I would eat. I ordered the vegetarian pasta and it blew me away! Best pasta Ive eaten in years and the portion size was extremely generous. Overall everyone really enjoyed their meals and we were surprised how cheap it was for us all to dine there. Would definitely go back again and recommend to anyone.

Read so much about this place, enjoyed ther restaurant decor, loved the bear. Hear was a great place for seafood. Had the chowder and was a little disappointed to say the least. Must have visited on an off day never mind. Service was great food average at best. Never mind.

Ive been curious about this place for years and finally had an excuse to go with colleagues. Lots of seafood options, but also great chicken parm and other options too. Liked the garlic bread and calamari entrees, and the John Dory fish I got with cheese and sauce was surprisingly excellent to me as something a little different. Steaks also look quite good.

Went for dinner with my 9 year old. We sat in the restaurant part, and we both really liked the themed decor. They have aquariums with fish and turtles to look at as you wait for your meal. The staff were all very attentive, and were happy to explain the menu as well. I had a steak with scallops wrapped in bacon and it was all delicious. My kid loves having fish for dinner and she had so many options on the kids menu that she was interested in.

Awesome food and service in the function room for a birthday. The pirates platter and the steak with mushroom sauce were delicious. Its very busy 12-2pm so there were barely any parks in the car park otherwise you can park at Wilsons across the road.

Fantastic restaurant!! We actually didnt have a lunch booking but team was able to fit us in without any hassle, a new waitress service was super, friendly and enjoyable (Gina), food was fantastic, so fresh and filling. We ordered 12 dozen Oysters (fresh and yummythe 2x sauces that accompanied the oyster, Ive never tried but were so devine and is now my second favourite way of having oysters! then the Swashbuckler famous seafood chowder (Wow!! Certainly recommendsuper tasty, had seafood bits, fish, salmon, plate feature 3x full mussels filled with seafood bits and 2x shrimp, well presented, then we had the Pirates Platter for 2x, Wow!!... another super dish to recommend, everything was again fresh and tasty. Desert we had the Hot Chocolate Fudge Brownie which was a perfect was to end lunch!!... the visit total suppress our seafood hunger!! Would certainly recommend to everyone, price was surprisingly good compared to restaurant location and setting but assure you will receive great service and food! Cant wait to go back again!

The food here is amazing!!! The seafood platter would have to be my favourite main dish. The view of Auckland Harbour Bridge is beautiful at night, the service from the staff is warming & welcoming. I am definitely coming back over & over again!

Had a seafood platter for three, and it was very well presented, tasty and perfectly cooked. We left very full and saticefied. Staff were nice too, and the location is great. Top dollar for these meals, well worth it.

Went here for my 60th Birthday dinner, the food was delicious and well presented. The waitress was informative, very helpful and advised us about the food on the menu. The atmosphere was lovely too! Will be back again for sure!!

We were really happy with the quality of the food..I did spoil myself breaking our daily food regime by having 3 entrées and 2 mains..but why not, it had to be done and we were stoked with every meal.Service was great, Irene looked after us really well. And was pleasant to talk too. Lovely down to earth atmosphere and family friendly. Plenty of things for the kids to look at.

Very nice restaurant. Staff was very frinedly. Food was great. Spaghetti Marinara was really delightful, fresh sauce, fresh shrimp and fish, fresh New Zealand mussels. The sticky date pudding was very good as well.

Service is attentive & thorough. I ordered the "Seafood Chowder" & the "Greek Salad" - Double Wow!! The best in the world! Its been 20 years since Id been here & it remains highly popular! Great atmosphere & great for the older kids too (if youre a family looking for an awesome night out!). Outside seating allows you to take in the spectacular views of the Auckland Harbour Bridge, with its colourful light displays reflecting through the skies! Great place to go for a hearty New Zealand seafood dinner. The service was friendly, and very efficient, so we didnt have to wait long for our drinks or food. The drink selection was good, and they had a good menu. They definitely arent stingy with their serving sizes, as both the entree and mains I had were huge. There is also a great view outside of the Westhaven Marina and the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

We were part of a group of 20 that was initially situated on 2 separate tables however with a bit of table shifting and chair swapping they managed to seat us all together on one long table.The table service was both friendly & helpful, the food was plentiful with huge quantities for the entrees as well as the mains.I ordered the salmon salad as the entree followed by the fillet of beef with bacon wrapped scallops, we also had a sharing platter as part of the whole meal. The dishes were tasty, fresh and as i mentioned earlier plentiful.
