Swain Brothers in Vernal

One of the best steak houses I have ever enjoyed! This is a must do for the culinary experience when youre in Vernal and certainly for special occasions.On a side note, the details in the floor tile with the roads, waterways, counties, and towns is some of the best craftmanship I have ever seen!

My 2nd time here. Oh my gosh ! Their specialty is steaks. And they wont let you down. Im very particular how I want my steak cooked, and most places come close. Swain Brothers were right on. I enjoyed my steak emensley. I also had the Mahi Mahi along with the steak. Such a great flavor and moist. Not dried out. The loaded baked potato was the best I ever had. The 1st time I had chicken fried steak. REAL steak, not the processed kind most places have. A great size, tender and flavorful. Swains Brothers is bit pricey, although the amazing food and portions make it worth it. Hit the off hours as due to the popularity you may have to wait for a table. The restaurant is quite large so the wait wont be for long. They have tables, bar seating, outside seating and a large banquet room in the back. They also do take out. My favorite go to place when I go to Vernal.

Johnny was an excellent host, ensuring we had everything we needed. He also addressed minor issues promptly. The food could be improved, the steak and prime rib were a bit dry.

Garlic peppercorn steak was perfectly cooked and full of great flavor. Fried cheese curds are amazing!

Stopped here on our way through Vernal for a steak. Husband had filet. I had scampi. Steak was tender with great flavor. Perfectly done. Scampi had 10 giant shrimp..i have had scampi lots of places...this was number one. The grilled veggies had some seasoning on them that was awesome.If we lived in Utah wed make this a regular stop.

Really loved the prime rib with mashed potatoes. The meat is actually done the way you request and not overcooked! The buns are amazing, they alone can be a meal haha. Next time Im in town Ill remember this spot for sure.

Very friendly place with excellent service; food was very good, with a good selection and most importantly they have a full bar.

Worst prime rib ever. Asked for rare and recieved over well done. The waiter was a great guy and he said I will get u a new one. He came back and I cut it open and yet again well done. I was given a discount on a steak that I didnt finish. It was a whole $3.00. Never again will I go there.Update. A manager named Julie recently got ahold of me and fixed everything. She was very pleasant to talk with and very concerned about the situation. I am going to try the place out again. Moving up to 4 stars now and if I enjoy the experience 5 stars it will be.

Edited: We were invited back after our first visit, the manager personly sent me an email and apologized for our disappointing evening, Oh my gosh they more than made up for it, the food and service was EXCELLENT..we will definitely be back. Way to much going on at this place! Place is huge! They have an all you can it steak on there menu! Lots of food to choose from that’s for sure. They sell $100 bags of fresh ribeye to go! It’s a must stop and check out kind of place if your up in Vernal UT.

We came with a really large group of 20+ on a Saturday afternoon, and they seated us really quickly. The servers did an amazing job accommodating such a large group. They had half price burgers as a lunch special, and the food was really good.The actual burger is a half pound of meat, which is bigger than I prefer but great for people who like a lot of meat. The fries were good, and fairly crispy.

I enjoy lunch or dinner here and the place where I can look out the window to see the scenery as I do my homework. I mean wow a restaurant where I can do my homework and have a Raptors tail! How much more dinosaur can you get.😉😁💪👍📚🌍🙏😇❤️

The best experience ever. I’m in town for work and wanted a good dinner. My server was amazing. The bartender was amazing. My food was amazing. Everything was amazing. I’m in town for two weeks. I will be going back again next week.

The service was amazing, and the staff was really kind.The food tho... They are known for their steaks, so our expectations was probably high. But that doesnt change the facts that we got a dry steak.We ordered a ribeye, mediumrare, but got a dry and way to done steak.We expected more for the price.

I absolutely had to leave a review for how amazing Julie was! My family and I came in for dinner on Sunday night after arriving late to our hotel. She provided us with above and beyond service and care. She is a gem! (Also delicious food!)

Had the pesto chicken sandwich with parmesan cheese fries. Excellent 😋 Waitstaff was pleasant, welcoming, and attentive.

Everything we ate was delicious! T Rex nachos were great, would recommend the steak or shrimp as a topping and maybe not the chicken. Shrimp scampi was great. Burgers were large and yummy. Portions here are huge...probably consider that before loading up on appetizers. Mashed potatoes are awesome and have a delicious creamy white gravy.

I was very disappointed with our meal at Swain Steakhouse. With the great reviews they have I was expecting just that, a great meal, sadly this isn’t what we received. The waiter was pleasant enough but she was not attentive during our meal. I tried to order a Angry Orchard - not available, I tried to order mozzarella sticks for an appetiser - sold out. That was ok as I found nice alternatives. What wasn’t ok was being bought our starter and not given any napkins or cutlery, having to eat with our fingers, half way through our appetiser the waiter came back and we had to ask for napkins and cutlery, no apology. We hadn’t even finished our appetiser when our main meal was bought to the table, my husbands steak was seriously undercooked, our salad and soup were forgotten about, 10 minutes into our meal (I had finished my mealthe waiter returned to ask how our meal was so we mentioned the steak being undercooked, she asked us to put it on the side plate to take back to the kitchen for more cooking and also mentioned about the salad and soup, again no apology but she bought the to the table shortly after we asked about it. Would I go here again - no I wouldn’t. I don’t like giving bad reviews but I was so disappointed with our meal and the service we received.

Ordered dinner first night and lunch the next day. Friendly, courteous service. Large portions. Pretty good taste. Fast prep. We had burgers, chicken strip, t-rex nachos and clam chowder. Recommend, especially for families heading to Dinosaur!

We were a large crowd of 13 hungry adults but boy were we fed! Our waitress was awesome with a smile and willingness to serve. Not only was the food and drinks great but portions were gigantic! Go there hungry and you will not be disappointed.

It’s rare to have such a fine dining experience as I did at Swain Brothers Steakhouse. Staff was prompt, knowledgeable, and kind. Bartender Adam suggested a Sterling Cabernet I hadn’t tried before. It’s my new favorite! It was noticeable how all staff helped one another without prompting. Owner Jonathan moved and mingled with his staff and customers with ease. Do yourself a favor, and visit this excellent establishment.

Food was very good, we split the chicken cordon blue plate, which had bacon instead of ham, the chicken was tender and the sauce had fresh yummy mushrooms. The menu clearly had GF items marked. We got right in at 6 on Thursday. When we left there were a lot of people waiting.

The food is excellent. My husband and I ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich Special with garlic parmesan fries. The sandwich was amazing with melty gooey cheese, savory prime rib, and mushrooms, served with horseradish cream sauce. The garlic parmesan fries make me never want to eat regular fries again - so good! The service here is always weird, our waiter looked and acted like he was also the cook, but he was great and kept our drinks full and attended is well.

My husband and I went here on our anniversary and we had the Filet Mignon. It was great food,the staff was very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was welcoming and we very much enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. I would reccommend this restuarant to anyone looking for a great place to have a great meal and we will certainly be dining there again.

Read reviews it was the better review steak house in vernal. I like that they cut their own steaks and use the trimmings to make burgers, nice atmosphere, how ever the the best tasting thing I had was the nachos the steal I had I was told was prime it very clearly was not I asked for rare which it was but was still fairly tough like water logged leather the taste was okay. The garlic asparagus is only that in appearance it like they cooked it then just sprinkled Jared garlic on it no other seasoning did not have any taste but it was cooked well. The clam chowder Co I ld of been thicker but judging by uniform everything was I suspect it was from a bag which is fine but not what I would expect from the price point t of meals, service was ok server was polite but she did not know the menu well or questions I asked such as is your steaks prime choice ect also remember that in utah a underage server can not take a liquor order and has to get the bartender or older server to take and bring your drink order. That being said it still took 10 plus minutes to see some one to get another drink the server checked on us but still ko drink. Skipped desert looks like pre-made frozen deserts I would expect from a place like red Robin or tgi Fridays type place. That being said if you are going to call yourself a steak house the do steaks and do them well the have a large menu and a lot of the steak offering are blackened or Tuscan so a cre sauce, not great I would recommend cutting the menue down and maybe offer less dairy options for good cuts ect but thats just me

You need a knife to cut the large pieces of lettuce in the salad. Only one grape tomato in the salad as well. The burgers were very dry - not remotely juicy, and not well seasoned. Only one tiny piece of lettuce and a single slice of tomato for the burger. The only good part of our meal was the good service.

After a long day of hiking in the Vernal, Utah area, we drove through downtown Vernal and found this restaurant. We were so very impressed with the food the huge portions and the service. Warm dinner rolls with sweet butter was the appetizer—delicious and amazing! Our incredible waitress Makayla only improved our dining experience. This was simply a great and memorable restaurant experience.

Amazing food. Good service. Very friendly.. great drinks... Cajun chicken pasta yummy.... steaks always a good choice. Soups are delicious...appetizers a must try with your meal.

What a nice restaurant. Ive been there twice, reach time with a large group of 9 or so people. They are always so accommodating. Their steaks are really very good. I had the ribeye this time around. Although it was about $32, it was well worth it. Such a good steak. I could have another tonight. :-)

Great service and food! It was my birthday & mothers day and I had a 12 oz ribbeye steak cooked exactly the way I asked! Our waiter, Adam, worked hard to keep all of my guests taken care of and did a great job!

Lots of great help and the food was amazing. I ordered the prime rib and it was among the best I have ever had. Service was top notch and they made my birthday dinner a fun event for the family.

I’m always nervous to try new places - especially steaks and wasting a lot of money on so-so food. But, this place was amazing! We had coconut shrimp, steak medallions in Tuscany sauce, the sirloin steak with blue cheese and cheesecake. It was all delicious and totally with the $ and it definitely lived up to the hype of the reviews I’d been reading! SO good!!

Seriously the best things ever! Came out really fast and tasting amazing! Would defiantly recommend. If you like spicy the sunburnt muscles are the way to go!

Have eaten here twice so far. I always get steak and love how tender their meat is. I took my daughter here for her birthday dinner and they found a staff member to sing happy birthday to her in sign language since she is deaf and gave her and her little brother a free sundae making both of their night. The kids loved the food so much they had very little room left for the ice cream. I would definitely recommend this place to eat.

I came here because i recognized the name from previous stays at the Quality Inn and boy was i not disappointed to find the menu to be pretty much the same. The food was outstanding, at an incredible price. Great service. And the Cajun burger with garlic parmesan fries was very welcome after a day of 30 kayaking miles. Cant say enough about how good that burger is

Terrific place. In my opinion best in Vernal. Extremely high quality ingredients. I appreciate that the chef uses the best of everything and the servers and chefs play attention to the details. My Garlic and Bacon cheddar burger w/fries was 11.99. Awesome deal. Our server was Micaela and she was phenomenal. One of the best I’ve had. The atmosphere was relatively quiet. Was an amazing experience.

Food was a delicious but the plate was a mess at the end. Would have been a 5 star if it werent for the messy plate and empty beer glass.

Absolutely, great!!! Our waitress was so amazing!! Would recommend 100% so sweet and really kind!! They even lit up the fire in the table for us! Its an amazing place for any occasion, Thank all of you at, Swain Bothers!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in town. Great food and service! Also it is super fun to bring your non-local friends to show them old pictures of the town while waiting for locally brewed beer.

Amazing food and service! Kaytia was our server and did a fantastic job! The steak was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. The Caramel Pecan cheesecake was outstanding as well!

We were hoping for a little more from this place. Keep in mind we didnt have their steak and that is what they are known for so well have to come back for that.Breakfast was quantity over quality. The food tasted good but not amazing. It was a little pricey but you do get your moneys worth its just not an amazing flavor for the money. We probably wouldnt do breakfast here again as it tasted like what it would if we made it.The atmosphere was very friendly and clean and the service was great.

Had brunch here and it was great! The food come in big portions and was delicious, they offered their own fun mimosa type drink that you could get with out without vodka and it was pretty good. Our waitress was amazing. Ill be back for sure!

Once you taste the food at Swains, you will want to keep going back for more and more. The environment is clean, the staff is friendly, and they have a wide selection of food items you can choose from. Other restaurants out here just cannot make food the way Swains makes it, especially my favorite foods. You will definitely get your moneys worth at Swains when it comes to the size of the food portions, along with the unlimited free rolls when you run out. They also serve breakfast a few days a week, so check with them on breakfast hours also. I highly recommend Swains 100% and I will keep going back for more. Thanks Swains.

Went to the new location for the first time this morning for breakfast and had good food "couldnt even finish such a huge meal".Great service Kota I believe was her name was awesome and friendly. The place looked nice and for the most part clean "floors under the tables could have been swept as there was a knife that was not from our meal left behind" The old location was hit and miss, great one time not so great the next so I hope that has changed and its great every time at the new location.

I ordered a garlic peppercorn Sirloin steak , cooked to perfection 1st time in my life Ive never used steak sauce . Tasted delish and the baked potato was Devine and the clam chowder was to die for . Put Mos to shame !All made from scratch too . If your comming through Utah stop here its a must . I have been from west coast to east cost and this is by far the BEST food o have ever tasted ..!!

The green chili burger was good. The blackened prime rib was amazing! I was mad at my wife when I found out she ate my blackened prime rib leftovers. I dont get mad over leftovers but there is always a first.

Wonderful food. The staff was friendly polite and extremely personable. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. Portions sizes are generous and the presentation is mouth watering. This is the kind of place to go on a date with that special someone or take the whole family for a enjoyable dinner. If you are a weary traveler or a dedicated salesman sitting down for a business dinner all are welcome here and all will be treated like a friend who has been invited over dinner.I love places like this.In a world of ever increasing chain restaurant that give you a cookie cutter dinning experience. Swain Brothers is a breath of fresh air that takes you back to a time when coustmer satisfaction was the focus that any self respecting restaurant strived for.When you are in Vernal stop in and have one of the best steaks in Eastern Utah.I hope your dinning experience is as rewarding as mine .

A dingy dive with a great atmosphere. Its the kind of place you wouldnt be surprised to find a mafia don having a nice family meeting. The fare is hometown. Very heavy with cheese and cream. The portions are enormous.
