Big restaurant in city center that takes great care of beer culture. The space is also suitable for big events. Food is delicious, but portions are rather small. Everything I tried was very tasty. If you are in mood for classic czech food and Pilsen beer, you should visit Švejk.

Delicious food, excellent service, pleasant ambient.

Most of the food was okay, the waitress was a bit rude, made us feel uncomfortable.

The food was quite tasty, but I order the different things than I get which I noticed when I took the bill and It seems, that I"ve got something 3 times more expensive :/

Very, very good!! We came here twice on our visit because it was so good on our first visit! Exceptional Pilsner beer poured from an experienced tapster, great food, great prices!! We‘ll be back next time we‘re in the city for sure!! 👌🍻

Food is overprices. I had a very small piece of meat with full of sauce and 5 slice bread. Was awful. Beer is like everywhere. Atmosphere is retro like in the 90s. Its fun if you like this...

We ordered two dishes to take, very small portions for 18 €, the meat was not so bad, but the roasted vegetables i would not give to stray dogs!!! two stars just for the meat, otherwise it would be one star

The place is nice and the food is really exceptional amazing. It took relatively much time to get served the meal but it was worth it. Good taste, tender consistency, perfect temperature ... we had the rabbit shank and the ox ribs with the 5 spices (Panchphoron ???and cleaned both plates fully. This is what I like in Czech: good beers, good meals and guestoriented hospitality (except Praguebut Plzeň is a stunning city to stay or even live here ...

I havent been there couple years. It used to be way better restaurant with more kind service. I walked in to the front bar just as if I can sit outside on the table where was a reservation sign. But couple off ppl had left when I walked in. Bartender almost did not say any hello and looked at me with the killer eyes 👀. I asked him after couple minutes of waiting if it is possible to sit there on that table with reservation. Answered me that reservation is reservation. I had to explain him that ppl had left when I walked in to ask him. Suddenly another waitress came a sat us down with no problem. I wont visit it any time soon again. Its a shame cause the beer was fine.

The soup was not so bad... meet really over cooked and dry... two visit was enough... even second chance they didnt reach with success...Service was very friendly 👍

All was great, except my steak was not medium rare but well done, but never have I ever had an intentional medium rare steak in Czech Republik.

I do visit svejky now for about 10 years on an annual basis and I spent dozens of hours here - always happy & satisfied. Staff is very friendly and the location itself (downstairsis a cozy place you can easily spend a couple of hours at. :)One of my must - go places when I stay in Plzen.

Amazing food and amazing beer. Awesome prices too! Anyone traveling thru this area should stop by. I had the Boulonova Basta plate, it was huge and delicious! Our server was a really great guy and the only person on our European trip who actually sat down and split up our ticket without any issues.

My favorite restaurant in Pilsen. Good beer and menu full of czech tasty food is guaranteed. Portions are really big there. Classic czech ambience. Location in the heart of the city.

Typical czech cuisine. Pries are very cheap. Nice location and a very kind staff. Usually Im very curious, so the next time Id rather prefer another location, bur wouldnt mind to return and try something else. Actually I would like it again.

We were visiting Pilsen over the Easter Weekend and discovered much to our dismay that you need a reservation for dinner at nearly every restaurant in Pilsen during the holiday weekend. As it was only our second day in the Czech Republic we were still a bit jetlagged and disoriented. Then after stumbling in and out of many full restaurants and being refused seating, we thought we might not even eat that night. Then just like that, we fell into the warm, welcoming and wonderous establishment that is Švejk Restaurant U Pětatřicátníků. I wanted traditional Czech food, and that is precisely what we got. It was fantastic! Czech dumplings and fresh Pilsner beer; does it get any better than this? I submit that it does not! Our server did not speak much English, but what does that matter? She spoke the language of great food, and is this not also the language of love? We absolutely felt the love while eating here. We loved the food, we loved the beer, we loved the atmosphere, we loved the service and we loved that we were welcomed like family coming in from a cold dark foodless night. This restaurant is my favorite part of Pilsen, I think of our night there even months later. Would I eat there again? Believe me when I say that I will absolutely get on a plane and fly 13 hours, and then drive another hour just to eat here. If you are a lost and confused Canadian or American and find yourself stumbling about the historical city of Pilsen, go and find love and food at Švejk Restaurant U Pětatřicátníků.

A traditional Czech restaurant in the city centre, which is near all the tram stops and also some bus stops, so dont worry and leave the car at home. The pub is quite big. There are two floors. You can also sit in the back yard or outside the pub in the street. Its designed in Švejks style; the staff wear the "first republic costumes". The food is tasty and portions are big. The beer is good too.

Very delicious soups! The place looks a bit rundown but somehow cozy. Bathrooms could have been cleaner.

this is the worst restaurace ive been in Česká republika. there was made two mistakes in our order. they are very slow in serve. the dishes was too salted and small. I ve not recommend it to anyone.
