Sushiwa Japanese Restaurant - Japanese restaurant in Abbotsford, Canada
I love Sushiwa! Been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Prompt and friendly service, food is always fresh, and the best miso soup. Pictured is the Sushiwa lunch box, less one piece of chicken because I remembered to take a picture after I had started eating. Keep up the good work!
Quick and friendly service. Great portion. Taste fresh and delicious 🤤
We ordered the Crunch Roll, Spicy California Roll and the Cucumber & Avocado Roll. It was delicious and so fresh! I highly recommend this place!
Been many times and the sushi is never disappointing! Great local sushi if youre looking for quality at a decent price.Ps try the sushi pizza they do!
Very good ,Thanks
Delicious meal, definitely pleasurable! Would highly recommend.
Just recently left this establishment with disappointment. The 4.6 star review on google was very misleading. We ordered the lunch bento boxes. The chicken teriyaki didn’t even taste like teriyaki. The spring rolls barely even had filling in it and barely had taste. We also ordered the spicy salmon sashimi and it tasted like very old salmon that has been sitting out for a long time. Paying $17 for the bento box was really not worth it.
allways have had good food here.love the fish skin roll
A refreshing sushi experience. The salad ingredients are fresh and clean. The sushi cuts are thick and juicy, the tempura is crispy and leaves no greasy after taste. Sushiwa is a gem neatly tucked in a strip mall area. I went on a Saturday lunch hour which was perfect as it wasnt clamouring with the AYCE crowd. I recommend this restaurant to those who like sushi and seek an affordable tasty meal. Keep up the good work Sushiwa 💫💫💫💫💫👍
Owners are super nice. I love the mandarin fever roll. Must try :)
Omg... sooooo good, I dont think I have ever eaten so much 🤣Great service, amazing food
Sushi is always super fresh our favourite place in Abby!
Phenomenal!!! The service was splendid and the owners were incredible. Menu was unique, delicious and the fish quality was exceptional. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for premium sushi. Marked as our new favorite restaurant in the area.
First time trying this place, no disappoint here. looked and reviews and heard good things. so tonight tried it out myself ordered the assorted sushi and tray d presentation amazing especially for a take out tray. while eating the sushi it is so fresh it melts in your mouth after each bite defiantly a repeat and now my new favourites
Their customer service is great. Also, their food! We couldnt find a better Sushi in the City. I hope they could be open as days a week then.
Ive ordered the same thing about 20 times plus and am always 100% satisfied. Chicken and Beef terryiaki. Lots of perfectly cooked and fresh vegetables, a small mountain of beef and a great piece of chicken. Their terryiaki sauce is perfectly thick and sweet. I will continue to patronize this place time and time again, cant speak for any other menu items but judging by the quality of this dish id gamble the rest is awesome. Price is great for the amount of food you get
The last owner was great. The skill of new owner didnt disappoint either. Best quality sushi in Abbotsford hands down. Amazing presentation, very delicate flavours. The portion is quite small though. You can cost yourself $10 in two bites. Literally.
Great sushi! Wow the rolls had extra stuff on top. Really impressed, will be back for sure! Friendly staff too. :)
Small but very cozy place. Very nice people work there. Delicious sushi
My partner order a dish that I wish I had ordered. The udon was amazing and massive, just the right set of flavours and reheated really well the next day.The Salmon Rice Bowl? Its been a week. Hes still talking about it.
Beautiful presentation of food, absolutely spot on with flavor and quality. Intimate atmosphere with gracious, attentive hosts. 5+ stars
We love Sushiwa! We go there very often and you can tell they are very passionate about the food they serve. Every dish is delicious, and put together beautifully. The prices are amazing too! My favourite is that i can order a 2pc prawn tempura and their prawns are so juicy and delicious! A must try!!They are such kind people
My wife and I always enjoy our lunches here. The place is always clean and the staff very friendly and inviting. One of the best spots in Abbotsford!!
My favourite little sushi shop in Abbotsford. Its not comparable to one in Richmond or downtown Vancouver but its a solid and reliable choice out here and Im grateful for it.
I have had a LOT of sushi in my day. BC in general has a lot of great sushi restaurants. I have never been to Sushiwa, even though its right around the corner from my house. This has been hands down the best Ive ever had! The service was great, the food was incredible and the prices are about average for sushi. The sashimi was tender and delicious. It didnt need sauce at all. I had the sunumono salad which was amazing! Everything was so very fresh and prepared to order. Well be back for sure. Im not one for take-out sushi, so we ate in the restaurant. There are only about 5 tables inside but we went at a quiet time. During covid, they are taking all the precautions.
Great sushi spot in Abbotsford. Huge portions and fresh. Thanks so much!
Cute little location, great staff and their food... SO good! I’m a big Sushi buff and this is by far the best I’ve had in Abbotsford. I only discovered them in the last year but since then I’ve gone so many times. Sometimes two days in a row. Their special rolls are awesome and the Sashimi is incredible
Excellent selection, and some very unique flavours. The rolls are huge and loaded with toppings, so keep that in mind when you order. Try the lemon prawn roll, the Mandarin roll, and if you like spice try the spicy salmon and tuna cones. They are overflowing with sashimi, and spicy enough to really wake up the senses. This is our favourite sushi restaurant in town, and we have tried them all several times.
Best portion sizes in their nigiri and lowest price in abby. I visited 13 other sushi restaurants in Abbotsford and ordered 2 sockeye and Atlantic salmon nigiri, or 4 of whichever they offered from each. Sushiwa not only priced their nigiri at 2$ each which was cheaper than most locations in Abbotsford, the portion of fish they gave was 20% larger than most competitors. They are definitely a favourite!
A wonderful little sushi place. They made the sushi fresh in front of me, and it was a fantastic deal.Twelve pieces and a miso soup for only seven and a half bucks!Definitely would eat again.
I ordered a bento box "Sushi & Sashimi" to take out.Order was ready in less than 10 minutes, which was amazing. The size of portions were quite good.Variety was excellentI received a Mjso soup, Harusame salad with shrimp, mixed tempura, shrimp, octopus, tuna and salmon sashimi items, all of which were very fresh. Also included a chicken teriyaki cutlet on cooked vegetables, plus some grilled tuna sliced thin.A great selection of items!I barely was able to finish all this food.I am sure that I will be returning in the future.Highly recommend this place.
Usually never have a problem here, out of the few times I have been here. Last visit my stomach was very upset after eating. Other than my tummy hurting the staff is very nice and inviting, very humble and polite.
Love this place! We go anytime we are feeling sushi. Their mandarine roll is by far my favorite roll Ive ever had anywhere. Thanks for being so great!!
In town on business. Cute restaurant with walk up sit-down bar. Ordered a sashimi box which included chicken, salad, sashimi, rice, tempura, miso soup. Great value for $20. Sashimi tasted fresh and portion sizes were very good. Sunomono salad was nice with a not-too-acidic vinegar. Very tasty. Miso was savoury and delicious. Tempura was crispy and not greasy. Enjoyed the dinner overall and will be back. Only recommendation would be to check the steamed rice. Was a little bit dry. Great service.
Nice fresh sushi 🍣 clean environment. Small portions though. I dont think we will go again. So many sushi places these days.
Very good food. Me and my girlfriend were very happy with our beef and chicken teriyaki. Very friendly staff as well. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the ingredients. You can tell everything was very fresh.
perfect!!! very nice. You have to eat this sushi and roll.
Calm atmosphere, friendly staff, prices are a little high and the menu a tad limited, but each roll tastes unique and well worth the money. This is my fav sushi place in Abby.
The best sushi I have ever had hands down!! The service is amazing and always the best food!! Come here at least once a week!
Great atmosphere, amazing dishes. Started off with Gyoza, Agedashi (deep fried tofuand Salmon Tataki. Great presentation as well as taste! We had to order another Salmon Tataki for dessert! We will be co.ing back. Thank you for the special dish, Chef!
Ive been going to this place for almost year and just had my first negative experience. It wasnt the usual person taking my order and over the phone they misunderstood me and i had a hard time understanding what they where saying. When I went to pick it up I had to wait for them to add something to the order they missed. I went back home and relized they still missed something, I drove back and explained to them the miscommunication and not only did they not charge me for the item they missed they gave me extra. The food was amazing and even with this one fluke bad experience I would still say this is the best sushi place in Abbotsford. 10/10
This place has been very hyped to me. Ive done takeout twice and dine in twice.Chirashi Don test: price - high, variety - average, quantity - low/average.I have to admit that my special roll(Red Dragonwas delicious on my last visit. The combination of flavours in the sauces and toppings was delectable. It was also quite expensive, which for a special roll of that caliber I am ok with. The issue I have is that the rest of the menu is just as expensive, (a negitoro roll is $1.50 - $2.00 more than anywhere else in townwhich tends to prohibit the selection I like when having sushi. The staff were friendly, the wait was a bit long, and we were not advised when they were out of Tai (it was just substituted with Ebi to which I have a mild allergy). All in all it doesnt live up to the hype.
Good sushi, fresh ingredients, good service. The servings are a little small for the price but not terribly so. Definitely worth trying as the chef is clearly an inventive person and dont be shy about trying some of the different things on the menue.
Sat down inside. Small sized restaurant with room for maybe 5 groups. They have a few seats for a sushi bar. Friendly staff. TNT, Sakura roll, sushi pizza all were great. Would for sure go back here.
This place serves the best sushi in the fraser valley, incredible presentation, service and taste is exquisite!
Pauls passion for detail and only serving the highest quality product makes every item on the menu on par with the 5 star restaurants anywhere. Also probably the greatest Udon soup I have ever had. Thank you for being in our little town!Unfortunately, Paul has moved on and the quality of the food has taken a painful turn. So sad because my girlfriend and I were very regular guests for many years. Now comes the difficult task of finding a new sushi place in town.
My family and I attended Sushiwa a couple weeks ago for the first time. We had ordered several items, and unfortunately two of the items ordered were missed. Once this mistake was eventually realized, the missed items were served, but unfortunately in the rush to fix the mistake, the gyoza order was undercooked. This was disappointing for us, and we left with what we thought was a bad experience with Sushiwa. After sharing this online, I was contacted by a representative of Sushiwa, concerned about our experience. We were asked to come back for lunch, on his bill. My wife and I took this offer, and returned back to Sushiwa. The chef did not even give us a menu, just asked if we had any allergies or foods we didnt like; after that, the food started coming to our table. We received dishes we did not even know existed. The chef kept the dishes coming until we said we could no longer eat. After this, he came over and made sure we were satisfied with what we received. I explained how pleased we were, and he thanked us for coming back. I insisted on paying for the meal, but he said no. In conversation, he explained how he was leaving the industry, but really wanted to make up for what happened at our last experience...I realized that this meant there was no personal or professional gain for him doing this. While my wife and I were getting ready to leave, I noticed the relationship the chef had with the other customers. Many of the patrons and the chef knew each other by name. There was handshaking, laughs and personal conversations going on. The restaurant was packed. We all make mistakes, but how we manage them really speaks volumes of our character. Sushiwa made a minor mistake in our first visit, and went up and beyond to repair it...for no other reason than to satisfy us as customers. The food was exceptional, the service was great and the experience of seeing someone really care about the satisfaction of his customers was something not too often seen anymore. This is my new favourite sushi restaurant, and one I will be returning back to over and over again.
The best sushi place I have ever been to. They specialize in sushi. I especially love the Lemon Prawn and the Deep rolls. They difference between this place and other places is a wide margin.
Love Sushiwa! Cute little place to have some AMAZING sushi. Paul (the chefis awesome always very welcoming, and his mom is very polite and sweet as well. I recommend everyone i know to Sushiwa and each of them comes back more than satisfied. If you have not been, you need to go!!
Their raw sushi is the best in Abby. Free little (aand I mean littledessert. HST platter is golden! And the chef is super friendly. Highly recommend, definitely top 3 in Abbotsford.
