Sushi Morikawa - Sushi restaurant in Den Haag, Netherlands
Really enjoyed the authentic Osaka food! Reception was again very friendly and professional, prices are amazing low. Highly recommend
Closed ! Waste of time
Perfect in every way. Fantastic authentic Japanese food and great service. Lovely place. Highly recommended.
Japanese are renowned for their tact and politeness, and I have found that to be true until today. I’ve eaten at over 50 omakase restaurants worldwide, and have always been treated with respect and dignity. As soon as I walked into Sushi Morikawa, someone immediately ran over. They practically ran me over so they could open the door I just walked through 3 seconds prior, and motioned for me to leave.Yes, I didn’t have a reservation, but the restaurant was empty (only 1 other table occupied inside), so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try. She also told me last order was 20:00. The time then was 19:59, and I already knew what to order. Omakase, of course! With such horrible attitude and eagerness to turn away business when the restaurant was clearly empty, I’m counting down the days before this place goes out of business.
This is THE best Japanese restaurant in Den Haag, by a LONG shot.Every dish is constructed with the highest amount of care. The price quality ratio is amazing, 65 euros for 6 dishes + 10 nigiris is just mindblowing at this quality. And a really amazing selection of sake
Best sushi in the hague (perhaps in the netherlands!).I am a regular here since 2 years. Chef Morikawa starting preparing sushi in Osaka before moving to the Netherlands. And that is very clear from the dishes here: this is the real deal, authentic japanese sushi. So dont exoect to see california rolls, dragon rolls or similar, but only traditional dishes, and most of them are unknown in american-european style sushi restaurants. The quality of the fish is superb, the availability of ingredients follows the availability of the fish in the seasons. The rice has also very well balanced taste to it.The restaurant is small, and with an authentic atmosphere. You can eat at a table, or you can have the best experience eating at the counter.Nomura, the waitress, will welcome you with a smile. She helps the customers following the japanese customs, always with care but never intrusive. My advice is let yourself get spoiled by the chef and go for one of the menu, you will get the best value for money and you will have the chance to try many different dishes at the chefs choice.
The people who work here are very nice. The food is very high quality and very delicous. We loved the hot towels. The food is very neat. The decorarion is modern and beautiful. I recommend this place.
DON’T GO if you are not Japanese! Don’t know why there are so many people submit good reviews! It is the worst Sushi restaurant I have ever eat. The fish soup is the most terrible thing and the sushi are terrible too!
Amazing japanese restaurant. If you want a real authentic japanese experience, with a great chef from Osaka then this is the place to be. Great service and amazing food. I have never tasted japanese food this fresh before in the Netherlands.
The food and the service was perfect! Weve got the chefs course! And it was so amazing! The food was simply so delicious and soft. I cant put it into words! I also had a chance to use some 日本語 here 😎 So I can say: ごちそうさまでした 💜💙
THE best. Nothing to add.
Best sushi Ive tried
Top quality sushi by an excellent Japanese chef from Osaka.
Lovely little place! Great service, amazing food! I felt I was in Japan! Cant wait to go back!
You know the feeling when you have really high expectations and you’re afraid that your expectations are higher then it actually is... well this is the first Japanese restaurant in The Netherlands that far surpassed my expectations.
Reserved at 20:30, got confirmation via e-mail, I arrive there to discover the place was closed.
Japanese run restaurant that serves delicious, and, for as far as I could tell, authentic sushi. A bit expensive, but absolutely worth the visit.
It is better than big comercial restauranté like sumo of shabu. This is the real auténtic japanese food. One of the best I ever try. Really high qualitý. Good service also.
A small authentic osaka-style sushi restaurantI was looking for a authentic Japanese sushi restaurant in The Haque and I found this place. We were the only guests to arrive and sat near the chef. Their specialty is osaka-style pressed sushi, you need to try this out over the nigiri! For the big eaters and sashimi lovers out there, go for the ‘chef menu: izumi’. It won’t disappoint!
Sugoi! Amazing sushi and sashimi, the quality of the food and the service is superb. Having eaten good Japanese food while working at a Japanese company, I think this is probably the best place Ive been to ever. Thank you for the perfect experience!
A hidden treat for true lovers of original sushi. Go here if you love sashimi and raw fish. It is very good quality, and as close to japan as sushi can get in the Hague. portion size is quite large. Price is around 60 euros for a menu per person
Clean Osaka style sushi, great quality fish, really worth the outing for a special occasion. Its a small place, so dont forget to reserve on time! They do lunch and dinner, and they dont play any background music, which gives a very peaceful atmosphere.
best and only Kansei sushi in the Netherlands.
Superb
We chose the more expensive set menu and had a junmai daiginjo sake to go along with it. Both were magnificent. The high points for me were the exceptional sashimi courses. Note that the restaurant itself is quite basic. Case in point, there was no music and there was no place to leave your coat. However, if you want to have really authentic high quality Japanese food, this place is as close as you can get in The Netherlands.
Good sushi but felt expensive for 6 salmon nigiri, 1 cucumber machi and a soup - €50 My friend ordered one of the set menus which was better value ( see mixed sushi pic and tuna rollbut I prefer salmon. Wish they did a discount for same type of nigiri..
Best sushi in town
This is the best and most authentic Japanese restaurant I have been outside Japan. Quality and creativity of food are superb, I strongly recommend to take one of the chefs menu.
Magnificent food prepared and presented with love and attention. Some of the dishes made our otherwise talkative group fall silent with appreciation. Absolutely worth a visit.
A very nice Japanese restaurant serving high quality, very healthy traditional dishes. I would definitely recommend dining there as a nice oriental tryout in a modern setting!
the best sushi in the hague
Bon sushi
Almost all sublime (seriously), actually all dishes and starters were amazing, but not quite the sushi at the end of the menu.In fact most nigiri came with its rice ridiculously loaded with wasabi, in which cases I could hardly taste the fish. The latter felt quite drier than I would have expected, in addition.Without nigiri itd have been a... 10 stars
Amazing presentation, delicious fresh food.. What a delight this gem is!
Best Japanese restaurant in town
It is amazing place!!! Delicious and exquisite food, impeccable stuff and very nice ambiance! Recommend it!
Superb taste.Exceptional service from a sweet humble man.Worth every penny
Best sushi in The Hague !!!
Probably the best sushi and sashimi I ever ate! Slightly more expensive than your average sushi restaurant (but on par with other good Dutch restaurants in The Hague), and it looks somewhat unassuming from the outside, but the staff is extremely friendly (especially if you show you learned your Japanese manners! 😉and the food is simply fantastic! Just go there and experience it for yourself!
Delicious Japanese food in The Hague.
Finally after one year living in the Netherlands we have found a real Sushi with a hight quality and good value for money. Everything we try was perfect!! Pretty sure will come back soon!!
Best Sushi in The Hague! Real Japanese restaurant unlike all the hundreds of Chinese owned japanese restaurants. Great chef, superb food.
Amazing experience, amazing Chef. I dont understand how this restaurant does not have months of waiting list. Best sushis I ever had.
Mind blowing ! Thank you for the experience 10-15 different kind of fish on sushis !
Had an assortment for lunch. The best sushi in the Hague. A bit more expensive but you pay for good quality products which is worth it.
Id like to strongly recommend this restaurant!!! It is totally different to normal sushi restaurants like all you can eat. Starter, soup, sashimi, and sushi, everything was perfect and chef & staff were very kind! If you want to enjoy real sushi & sashimi, just visit this restaurant & ENJOY!!!
Kind staff, delicious food and real sushi! :D
Decent food. Polite staff made an effort.
Probably the best Japanese expereince you can have in The Hague. It really feels like being in Tokyo. The size of the place, the open kitchen, the staff and the owners all add to the experience. Needless to say the food is incredibly good.
Amazing sushi, I could have been in Tokyo
