That’s my favorite sushi restaurant in Switzerland, although the space is a little small, but never mind. They’re very family friendly and considerate. The sushi and sashimi have a high quality. The cuisine is as authentic as it can be. Besides the sushi & sashimi, I love their salad with the home made sauce and especially the cold somen noodles soup is an absolute must. The home made ice cream is very delicious, but unfortunately there are no non-dairy options.

Sehr empfehlenswert. Besonders das Lachs Sashimi zergeht förmlich auf der Zunge. Extrem freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Alles ist sehr sauber und wird permanent wieder geputzt, was für ein Sushi Lokal natürlich oberste Priorität haben sollte. Unser Favorit ist das Kabuki Menü, welches wir jedem empfehlen würden. Einzig der Sanitärbereich sollte eventuell mal saniert werden, aber ansonsten alles top 🔝.

Quality of sushi which I have not found so far in Bern... fresh and simply delicious! The interior might not be the most cosy or beautiful (surely a matterof taste), also prices are not the lowest but all worthy because the service and food is amazing!!! Fully recommend!!!

Best sushi and best sake.

Tout simplement meilleur que les autres établissement du type à Berne. Je ne saurais dire pourquoi, car les recettes sont les mêmes, mais le poisson est meilleur, le riz est meilleur, les soupes sont meilleures et même le gingembre est meilleur ! Atmosphere intimiste, réservation indispensable.

Nette Bedienung, tolles Mittagsmenu und das wichtigste: super Sushi (die Misosuppe und der Salat mit Algen waren auch sehr lecker). Wir kommen bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Bern gerne wieder.

Seit einem Monat esse ich täglich Japanisch. Hier mein Favorit. Super preiswerte Mittagsmenus in Hammer Qualität.

Superb food

We grabbed lunch there today on an impulse and with low expectations. The low expectations melted away as we entered the restaurant and found a small bar and a limited number of tables, nearly every seat taken. As is our practice when trying a new sushi place we ordered chirashi. The presentation was beautiful. A light scattering of chopped tsukemono (Japanese pickled vegetablestopped the bed of rice and on this was a mound of salmon, tuna, whitefish (not positive which species. Not snapper or hamachi), tamagoyaki (rolled omelet, often shortened to tamago), some shreds of nori and a lovely clutch of salmon roe. My only complaint is that the otherwise faultless tamago was a bit overcooked for my taste.

Wenn man sich mal wieder wie in Japan fühlen möchte, ist man hier genau richtig. Ausgezeichnetes Restaurant. Es empfiehlt sich eine Reservation zu machen, sonst bekommt man nur mit viel Glück einen Platz. Wie so viele Restaurants in Japan, ist auch dieses sehr klein; was allerdings nur noch mehr zum Japanfeeling beiträgt.

Great authentic japanese Sushi

Based upon the reviews here, I was really excited to try Yamasaki...I can tell you that it is very overrated. The nori was very chewy and the taste was essentially flavorless (even with the spicy tuna). Grocery store quality at best and overpriced and overrated in every way, big disappointment. Service was friendly.

The best in town!

The sashimi tasted like it was virtually fresh. We actually came in without a reservation and they still allowed us to order. It was obvious why. Almost everyone in town knew they were probably one of the best Japanese Sushi Restaurants in Bern. The meals were structured just right for varying degrees of hunger and balance. These people knew exactly what to do. The only possible drawback to this place is the space is too small for any incoming crowds in the future. Because once people catch on, it will become overcrowded every single day. Need to get a space 4-5 times bigger soon. Or bigger still.

I first has sushi in 87 in Tokio, when working for a Japanese company. Well this sushi bar is a trip back into the taste and the quality of that past. Excellent!

Delicious Sushi! But you almost always need a reservation. Definitely worth the visit! You wont find any better place in Bern for sushi.

Definitely the best sushi in the city. Sadly Its no longer an insiders tip. The restaurant is tiny and without a reservation you usually have no chance to eat here.
