Surf Bay Holiday Park - in Bideford, United Kingdom
Lovely camp site with helpful staff and plent of local amenities
Really clean, good location. Wasnt worth the money, the sheets where scratchy. The hot tub cover we struggled getting off as its so heavy, so we didnt use it. Every morning at 8, a man come to do cleaning on hot tub, would have been nice to been told, as he could see in the window while we was sleeping. The hot tub should have a cover over it so you can use when it rains. The out door furniture was uncomfortable. The ad said king-size bed, its a double. The people on top smoked canibas every night, not great that my kids kept asking what the smell was. It just wasnt great for the price I paid, wouldnt stay again.
Stayed in Beachcomber apartment. Lovely location, minutes from the beach 👍🏻
Really quiet (great stuffholiday park, close to beach, shops, restaurants etc. National park at one end of caravan park which is a different way to walk to the beach if ya like? (Sheep very friendly!Beach very sandy, no pebbles a d is MILES long!!!! Just what we needed.....
Very clean caravan and close to see buttiful
In 2019 my pregnant wife and I booked a holiday and left a deposit. My wife and i had terrible news about our 8 month year old unborn child and had to have an early birth as to which we lost our Baby.My wife cancelled the holiday outside of the grace period and explained her situation as to why we could not proceed with the holiday.Surf bay did not show any sympathy or an understanding for our loss and proceeded to charge us a late fee, we tried to reebook the holiday and they refused us.Later in that year we noticed that surf bay had not only treated us appallingy but they put a CCJ on my wifes credit file further more making it impossible for he to obtain credit and a mortgage. This company is a discrace. We had previously left a review and we were kindly asked to take it down and promised that they would deal with our CCJ situation and that was approximately a year ago now. Nothing has been resolved to this day.
Drinks took absolutely ages to come out, then our food took even longer to arrive. Finally it did, and the mix grill was appalling, not done how I said, one of the waitresses spit one of the cocktails all over the table and couldn’t even be bothered to clean it up so we had too… hardly any of us like the food, way to expensive! Would never come here again!! And the steak was so small considering how expensive the FOOD was!!! £21?!? For absolutely nothing, ridiculous.
Lovely well equipped caravan on nice quiet site. Hope to stay again soon 👍
Weve stayed here in various caravans in previous years, but after numerous lockdowns and some family upsets,we thought wed treat ourselves and booked the Beachcomber apartment. My word am I glad we did,it was beautiful, really spacious, high ceilings, fantastically furnished throughout.Beds are incredibly comfy, sofa was awesome too, huge dining table and chairs, balcony furnished beautifully too.Under floor heating and central heating kept things cozy through the Christmas stay,oh and icing on the cake was the lovely Christmas 🎄, the little touches that make things special. The kitchen is incredibly kitted out,we did a full Christmas dinner for 6 easily and a dish washer to spoil us after. There were people staying downstairs, but we heard nothing from them or them from us,so very good sound proofing throughout.Gorgeous views through the sky lights and rear balconies over the boroughs and sea.Any gripes errr probably that the master bedroom is a little bright at night....thats it.The dog loved it too, best holiday ever he said. Its a little expensive, but you get what you paid for in abundance, such a lovely stay,we will definitely be doing it again.Private parking and a cracking location,5 minute walk into westward ho!,5 minute walk to the beach,10 minute drive to Affinity shopping,Asda and mcdonalds.Thank you Surf Bay and hats off for a great job.
A brilliant location, great standard of decor, throughly enjoyed my stay. I would recommend this accommodation 100%.
Clean, well looked after park. No issues, easy chdck in and out
Great apartments..shame theres no club house in site or entertainment. But plenty of surrounding areas to do this
Lovely well kept caravan park.Excellent location only minutes from the sea
Nice place to stay quiet nice outlook from caravan not from shops bus stop and beach
A great place to stay, clean, quiet and picturesque. Its a shame its only going to be available for private tenants in October.
Lovely, clean peaceful right by the beach and a field with animals but also close to Tesco Express a traditional pub and big sheep
Very friendly people on camp. Peaceful. And a lovely clean site. Definitely recommend
The most quiet place I have ever stayed, everywhere is so clean and the surroundings are so well looked after. The staff to guest are so happy and polite. As for covid never felt as safe.Whould recommend to my family and friends.🙂🙂
Great little site right beside the Burrows. Friendly team and ideal for a family holiday or as a base for active sports like surfing.
Lovely site. Units are very well cleaned and sanitized. Westward Ho has got lots to do and places to eat and an excellent bus service.
Fantastic hol apartment, nice & clean & quiet, lovely walks near by.
We are having a lovely holiday at Surf Bay Holiday Park. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is very well looked after. Will definitely come back here
We had a short staycation here at the end of August. Unfortunately we were told by Hoseasons that we could not check in before 5pm. Fortunately we were called by a nice lady at the park at 16:30 to tell us that they would leave our keys in a key box for when we arrived as unbeknown to us reception actually closes at 16:30.We were left a code for the WiFi but unfortunately none of us could get it to work and so we didn’t really benefit from it.The park is in a lovely location with access to the stony beach and a short walk from westward ho! Sea front. There is a small Tesco and many places to eat and drink in the vicinity. Our caravan was pretty standard. Although we had been told that the caravan had been cleaned using a mist that kills covid-19 we were finding a lot of hairs on the sofas and carpet in the lounge so we felt that the vacuuming could have been a bit better but we appreciate that in these times things are tricky and cleaning is taking a lot longer. We had a nice stay, it was lovely and quiet and if that is what you are looking for, it’s the place to be.
This site has always been very special and I have many happy memories here stretching back over 50 + years. Was so sad to hear that they are selling off all the remainder of the caravans and will soon become an all private site. Was happy to get one of our annual visits but alas, the last holiday in the usual plot. The site is clean and very well kept and very peaceful. Biggest let down was the free WiFi, which is really really hard to connect to and so intermittent it was practically non existant.
Back for a 10th + year . Wonderful welcome as usual . All Covid procedures fully in place and all staff implementing . A wonderful break for us and so glad that they could open for the season
We have stayed here twice now. Both times had lovely caravans. Close to beach.
We booked to stay at the caravan park for 3 nights but only stayed Friday and Saturday night, this was good because we didnt have to rush out in the morning. The caravan was light and clean. They supplied a cleaning pack and toilet roll which was nice because thats the stuff I forgot to bring. You needed to bring your own bedding and towls, not an issue but remember the bath matt! The caravan was a short walk to the beach and had complimentary wifi.Thank you for a nice weekend, Ill book again if Im back down your way.
Just come home lovely relaxing place our two dogs loved the beach and long walks the carvan was very clean and comfortable easy walking distance to the town great pubs and shops go again yes
Nice quiet location some of the caravans showing their age and quite expensive as they have no onsite amenities
Static caravan was nice and clean. A great base to explore the local area. Good access to town and beach within 5 mins walk to both.
Staying in breakwater apartment, modern, spacious and spotless. Nice outside decking area. Staff very helpful 👍🏻👍🏻
Its a small, very quiet caravan park. If you want a lively all action holiday then this isnt for you but if you want a peaceful break its ideal. Its a great place to access beautiful north Devon. Theres nothing on site other than a laundromat but plenty of nice places to eat and drink nearby which suited us and most of them dog friendly as was Surf Bay its self. We had the disabled friendly caravan as my wife is a wheelchair user and for us it was brilliant. Lovely wide doors, a good sized wet room with shower and refreshing change to find a caravan that is advertised as disabled friendly and is. The one we stayed in on another site last year we couldnt even get from one end of the van to the other as theyd put a radiator in the corridor making it too narrow. Theres also WiFi in the caravan which was a lovely bonus as Id taken my Xbox so had access to Netflix and Amazon. All in all a nice little place for a quiet break and hopefully somewhere we hope to visit again
Pebble Ridge apartment was clean, smart and modern. Perfect for small family. Surf Bay was well maintained and just a short walk through the fields to the beach. Will definitely be returning.
Stayed in a beautiful apartment with an amazing hot tub, and a two minute walk to the beachWould definitely recommend but don’t book it with holiday cottages. Com as it cost me £130 more than booking it with surf bay direct!!
Stayed in one of the modern apartments. Fantastic and has its own hot tub. Worth every penny. Spoiled only by the views from the rear of the property.
Having been to loads of other Holiday parks this is the cream of them all. Beautiful and very well laid out no hills to negotiate all nice and level. Very clean holiday mobile homes, very good all round condition. Superb, superb, and Superb. We are definitely going to be coming again.😍😍
Ideal place to stay. Close to lovely beach, quiet friendly site. Always helpful good eating places in westward ho. Highly recommend a stay at surf bay.
A small park with limited facilities but is very well maintained by freindly staff and only a 5-10 minute walk from the local amenities including beachfront, amusements, restaurants and supermarkets.
Great site , lovely staff and close to beach. Short walk to town . Caravans clean and well equipped. Nice and quiet, no loud club house or bar.
Having a lovely time, still here until Friday. Caravans clean, tidy and ok for size for a family of four,(2 teenagedkids. Would recommend.
The apartments are Outstanding accommodation! Nice quiet retreat with beach access and close to all youd want to visit
Love staying here doesnt need a club house theres plenty of drinking and eating places off site 10 minutes from the beach which is very clean,Bideford and Appledore is a 5minute drive away.
Heating is a bit scary/temperamental but did work. Beds are quite small, single beds really better for children but living area is lovely. Very well equipped with cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster and pack of basic cleaning up stuff. Nice site, well looked after and not too big. Bit of a walk to the beach across muddy dunes, but good access to the beach and all amenities in the town, 10 minute walk away. Good value for money.
Nice park with a small amount of caravans. Modern with plenty of open space for children to play. In walking distance of the beach, shops, pubs & places to eat. Good base to see the surrounding areas.
Wow. The caravan did not lack for anthing. We had a nath and a few nodels have a jacuzzi. Friendly staff and lots to do eithin a short walk or drive. Well situated for local attractions. Will go again.
My wife and I have been coming here for many years and we love it, the staff are friendly and helpful. The site is perfect, clean, and, well kept and maintained. The site is dog friendly, Duncan is always ready to help and advise. Surf Bay holiday park is perfect if you want a quiet and a relaxing holiday. There is so much to see and to do in this part of the world, public transport is excellent, if you love walking and the Tarka trail is brilliant for cycling or walking. I would highly recommend.
Great caravan park with only a 10 minute walk in to the town and beach. Excellent location and spotless site. There is a large grassed area in the middle of the park with football nets so ideal for the children. We had a problem with electrics one morning and it was sorted within minutes by the staff would definitely return.
A very professionally run facility , with modern well presented caravans set in a clean and tidy park. Reception and laundry areas are very good, and you are only a 10 minute walk from Westward Ho! We had a hot tub with our caravan which is highly recommended. Very peaceful and relaxing, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Great Location, Clean Caravan, Quite & Well Maintained site next to one of the best beaches your going to find in the world, in my opinion. A Great place to take your family. All the shops your going to need locally within 10 minutes drive.
Clean peaceful and dogs allowed. Laundrette on site. Westward ho is a great place with a fantastic beach.
