typical zoo in the middle of the city, some animal are missing i guess. and not camera friendly (like theyre far away for our sighteven camera zoom cant reach to. good place to spend with family especially kiddo. good place to spend time alone too. most fresh air in the city cause a lot of big tree here. but you can still hear the vehicle horn from the road right out of the zoo

They definetly need to improve a lot of things. Tho it is a good place to spend a weekend while educating yourself about the wildlife, we should all agree that animals belong to the wild.

Nice green zoo, not much animals except aquarium, crowded in weekends and nice place to hang out with family and friends for 2-3 hours. I’d say go for fun but there aren’t many animals to see there.

Beautiful place, not so big but super green and comfy. All animals are well taken care of. Please keep it green.Enough food vendors, very cheap, good variety and good food. Just please leave the menu on the table, don’t wait on by the table with all other vendors waiting for customer to choose. Give us room to read and decide. 😃I’d recommend to go on week days in the morning.I’d recommend everyone to visit, this is where you can come and pay normal price.Most touristic destinations in Indonesia have local and tourist price 🤣 as if.Enjoy!!!

Its my first time visiting a zoo and Im really satisfied! Affordable entrance fee , IDR 15,000/ person. There are plenty of animals to feast your eyes on. I suggest you to go there earlier. I went there at 10.30am, and didnt have enough time to enjoy the aquarium section because its closed at 4pm.You can find plenty of local food here such as gado", bakso ayam, mie ayam. Theres also ice cream and varieties of snacks. I had lunch in the zoo. To my surprise, the food isnt overpriced. I had rawon for IDR 20,000 and also ote" for IDR 5,000.

What a great zoo. For just 15k admission, you get to see animals from all over the world.One of the few zoos where you can find komodo dragons.They have good conservation & education efforts and its overall a great experience!

Good place for kids, to educate about wild animal life, cool atmosphere

Cheap, beautiful, chill place to spend your weekend. Many animals can have a close look, recommend go in the noon or afternoon, can see the feeding time and get some cool breeze.

Kind of crowded at weekend and public holiday. If youre bringing your kids.. Its allowed to bring their bike or baby bikebor baby trolley along...since its a big place to explore. .Need a big cooling fan inside due to the weather on summer.Animal on good condition... Need more painting on their cage maybe. Need more maintenance on the park inside.Overall ok. Good experience

This zoo is smaller than Kebun Binatang Ragunan in Jakarta. However, it is still worth a visit for the kids. They can see many kinds of animals from tiger, lion, birds, crocodile to monkeys, orang utang, etc.

A legendary zoo which opened for public since 1918. A good place to introduce animals to your kids. The entrance ticket was 15.000 rupiah. But if you want to enter Aquarium inside, you need to pay another 20.000 rupiah per person. Overall is good but it would be better if we can improve the cleanese of the park.

Its cool. Suitable for kids to learn about animals. But I personally sad seeing the elephants and other big animals. They dont have enough space to do things 😭

Best way to bring your kids. They can play and learn at the same time. You can feed animals on scheduled time with extra charge (e.g feeding elephant costs IDR 10.000but its worth the experience. Though the entrance ticket is not expensive, spending some money to learn is worth it. You will be charged for aquarium too, it costs more expensive than entrance ticket (but it is optional, you can enter the aquarium area or not). You can also ride the camel or elephant (but it was closed when we were there, maybe because of rain or elseit also need extra charge. The plus is this zoo becomes cleaner and cozier than the last time i visited (more than 10 years ago). Ps: you need to wear mask and record your visit on pedulilindungi app

Less animals to see & interact. The atmosfer was good & many spots to have a sit & have a talk, but thosere all. Like to have spot to be photographed inside t-shirt for children. Only cost IDR 30K.

Cheap tickets yet it provides great learning experience for kids especially to know different kinds of animals. They can also experience to feed the animals and take great pictures at photo booth. My kids love it.

Kiddies will be happy to come here. There are so many kind of animals and some plants. Some place is being renovated and I think it will be more fun when it was done. But, several animals have a tiny body. Huhuuu sad but true. I hope the animals can be more well maintaned.

Surabaya Zoo is now much better than how it used to be. Its cleaner, greener, and the animals seem to be healthier. Some spot can be a good and instagramable photo spot. Better visit at weekdays, because its very crowded at the weekend or holiday.Note for management :• Please dont allow visitor bring their own food inside and do "picnic" here and there. They even sat in front of the cages while eating, which is quite disturbing. They will also leave trashes everywhere.• Keep the good work and do more improvement!

Visited on a Monday. Very quiet and some parts were close for maintenance but we chose that day in order to avoid the crowd. You feel like the park is open almost for you only and thats the best moment if you are visiting with your children to let them have a close look. I went there few years ago and I am happy to see that animals are given a reasonable amount of space and they are really taken care of.

Yeay finally KBS (Surabaya Zoogetting better, there were many renovation, and also the animal there are very healthy, Im happy to see their tigers are clean and fat 😍 and their monkeys were happy 😍 If you still underestimate about KBS (Surabaya Zoo), you must check it by your self 😊

Now Surabaya zoo is better and clean. The animals are also better not so thin. If you like to spend your weekend with ur children to know more about animal you can visit here. The price is cheap.your children can also try little outbond there. If weekend there is live music.

This place is a good choice if you wanna have quality time with family especially for children. We can give some guiding and eduqation about animal and nature, how to care and respect them. The staffs are nice people who can help you if you wanna some help or ask for something or if you need direction and guide. But many things and rules have to following if you visit in Surabaya Zoo. Thats kind of to keep you and other visitor safe and enjoy the trip.

A city zoo that is good to bring your kids over and educate them about animals and you only have to pay Rp 15.000 for weekdays and Rp 18.000 for weekends per person for the entry ticket.There are plenty of species in this zoo, like asian elephants, giraffes, tiger, lion and orangutans which are the kids favorite animals. There are also a plenty of birds, reptiles and ungulates species and a number of fish in the aquarium section which require you to pay additional Rp 10.000 to enter.There are a plenty of restrooms and benches spread throughout the zoo, which is really helpful for the visitors. And also the staff are nice.

Oxygen supplier in the middle of crowded city. Ticket cost at IDR 15,000 for everyone who already 80 cm height. Many animals collection, many beautiful spot to take photos. Musholla is located near by aquarium area. To enter the aquarium, we need to pay IDR 10,000. Fishes collection arent pretty much, but they have some unique species. There still so many visitor whose littering, even the trash can are provided in (almostevery 30 steps.

Big green space in the heart of Surabaya.I saw a lot of animals, but I am a bit concern about the Sumatran tiger, they looked a bit skinny even not too skinny like one tiger before (sparked international anger due to poor management and corruption on animals foods!).The price is quite affordable (IDR 15,000/person), kids under 85cm tall is Free.Room for improvement:- The cleanliness: still plastic trash here and there.- The restroom also need to be cleaned more!I hope Surabaya government and all the Surabaya people will take care of these animals and the zoo More.

The one & only zoo in surabaya, entry tariff is very cheap, a bit dirty but a lot better than my visit years ago, their animal collection is diversed, for the price it is a recomended place

With only 15k/pax, i think its a good place to bring kiddos and get knowledge about animals, but some animals are thin and their cage area is a lil bit dirty and stinky..Feel sad to see the animals which live in a different environment, hopefully they can back to their origin habitat soon..

The place is clean. Many animals live in there. Many facilities, example Breakfast with Elephant.Advise : come in the morning, not so hot and no traffic jam

The place is huge and from reading the earlier reviews i was hoping for a typical asian zoo kind of place but it was somewhat a very nice experience. Yes the enclosures are a little bit small for some of the animals but the animals do look you somewhat healthy though not all. The only downside was looking at the sea turtles in a small pond with moss everywhere which was a little bit disheartening. The place is huge so youd need a good plan to cover all as there are no exact directions or route which you can follow. The ticket price was 15,000 rupiahs per adult which was decent.

Seems small but actually very large place. A pretty nice place to bring family and kids to see animals, the place is cool coz many vegetation and trees, ticket are cheap ( about 15k IDR or 1 USD). My sons favourite is aquarium where he can see many fishes both sea or rivers. There are some flaw here and there such as no clear sign of where we should go and the path we should take. There should be more trash can, there should be more seats to just take rest after a walk. The number of animals are pretty few. There should be a place of pets where kids can touch or interact with them. But this place is overall good for the price paid.

A nice place for you and your family to have a short getaway from the city. This zoo is located near the central of surabaya. Its quite nice and clean, but there are still some people who litter. A reminder that every holiday this place is packed with people, especially kids, and its real hard to find a parking space.

It costs IDR15000 to enter and an additional IDR10000 to see the aquarium. Animals are quite extensive. You can see various mammals, reptiles, avians, fishes, and other categories of animals. But I did not see a collection of bugs. Situated in the middle of the city, it feels nice to have the option to be able to get surrounded by the nature world in Surabaya. Food stalls can be found on most corner so dont worry when youre feeling hungry or thirsty. Staff are polite.

An alternative place for your family vacation to improve our knowledge about animals and enjoy the green space in SBY concurently. Only pay 15k rupiah you can already enjoy many kind of animals collection. Besides, the zoo located next to historical monument of Surabaya which shows fight between shark and crocodile as the origin of this citys name.Many things had been improved since my last visit several years back. Its hygine much more better, animals looks great regardless to negative news spread by bad guys, and of course more instagramable which suits these days kids and teenager. Let us save this great zoo together !!

The one and only zoo in Surabaya, in the past they have a lot of issues regarding cleanliness and how they treat their animals, but in my recent visits I have discovered that there has been lots of improvement. The place is clean, the animal looked well-kept, and it looks like they are doing a lot of remodelling, overall a great place to visit with your family. Maybe in the future they can add more animals.

Probably nicest zoo of all of Indonesia. Very well kept. Lots of different kind of animals (monkeys, giraffe, zebra, birds, elephants, crocodiles, tigers...which also look healthy and well taken care off. Only thing smoking should be prohibited for visitors and employees. I was on my own but a fun place for family and kids. Definitely worth a visit
