Set on a leafy street, this straightforward budget hotel is a half-mile from the Potomac River, less than a mile from Interstate 70 and 20 miles from the Whitetail ski resort area.Relaxed rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screens, minifridges, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Some have whirlpool tubs. Children age 17 and under stay free.A complimentary breakfast buffet is served in a down-to-earth dining room that has a TV. Parking is also included.
Not so bad. Although the exterior and interior common spaces showed signs of wear and tear our room was quite nice. It was clean, nicely decorated, and mattress was firm and comfortable. Front desk staff was very friendly.
This sucks as a hotel, but its way better than camping out with what you carry on a bike. But being way out in the bush its great, but there are few if any other options
First of all, there was no door on the hinges. There was no window and no toilet. Someone stole my toilet!!!! Most likely for drug money. There were toe nail clippings in the sink.......oh nvm, those were mine. There was still crime scene tape covering the tub. There was also a human finger in the ash tray. Which I smoked by the way. Oh and your sister has rabies. At least I judged that from the foaming at the mouth. And whats with all the Indian kids?
Its your basic low-cost hotel on the road. The rooms were clean and there was no smell of smoke in my non-smoking room. It was quiet overnight I was not disturbed. They had no ice which was very frustrating to me. The morning breakfast was quite limited but fully stocked and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
This is a pretty basic motel that I used as a night stop while driving, but it seems much older and decrepit in comparison to similar places. The staff was friendly and helpful which is why the rating is 3 stars instead of 2.
The room was dirty.the carpet was wet. The tub was so moldy we diutake a shower. The desk clef was very friendly and accommodating.
Our room was clean and the staff were pleasant. Quiet area. Breakfast wasnt much, but thats not what we were paying for. Thank you!
Good: Bed was clean and comfortable and the staff is nice.Bad:- WiFi was pretty spotty (kept getting “no internet”).- Curtains are missing daytime privacy layer and have only daylight blocking or wide open.- “Breakfast” was pretty bad - no fruit or yogurt (fruit is “weekends only”.Two types of cereal and one of those was empty.- The room and furniture were both a bit rough.
1st time at a super 8. The room was clean, the sheets were pure white and stainless, the refrigerator and micro worked. The staff was friendly and the price was right on. I was impressed. So glad I tried the place out. No bad characters or any bad experiences to report. They usually get a bad rap but new management has done wonders with the place is what I see and what I heard. A+ FOR THE PRICE. no its not a resturant bar pool luxurious hotel, but I didnt pay 350 a nite .
Highly recommended if you cycle along Pontomac River and plan to spend the night in Hancock. The owner is super friendly and lets you take your bike into your room. Everything was clean. The air condition worked well. Although the fridge I had to unplug because it stopped me from falling asleep. Make sure to buy some breakfast the day before, unless you get energized by only eating sweets and having a coffee. All in all highly recommended and would definitely go there again. The price for a standard room us more than fair.
Stayed last night randomly. For the first time. I looked online at reviews this morning and they’re mostly bad! This is not a bad stay at all. Desk people are super nice. And they’ve got BREAKFAST! No 5 star buffet but they’ve got good name brand pastries and coffee. That’s good enough for me. Lived in Hancock for 12 years but never stayed here. YES it’s a tiny town with pretty much no food options. And even less now because a few more restaurants have closed :( Pizza Hut is the closest restaurant. Sheetz is 2nd closest. The big town park is within walking distance as well!
Yes its an older facility but otherwise my only complaints were the heater wasnt working and the TV kept turning itself off.door was previously kicked in and no longer has a working deadbolt or safety latch.Great staff, room was clean and its a quiet location
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Everything was else was bare minimum. Breakfast was nearly non-existent ( a muffin, a granola bar and coffee - no fresh fruit, no yogurt, no cereal, no toast, no juice). Building is old, but clean. Overall among the lowest quality Super 8s Ive ever stayed at
