A very interesting place. It’s worth a visit, but one should jump into one of the paddling boats. We paid around 150 Baht per person and went around the canals for 30 minutes.You‘ll stop in different little shops inside the canals as seen on the photos. Get a coconut ice cream, it’s delicious!A small negative aspect; as always the merchants can be very … intense. They try to sell as much as they can when a group of tourists comes by. You‘ll get hooked with your boat and pulled by. But still, the experience is worth it!

Interesting place but expensive goods. I came here as part of a tour package, the experience was nice, sitting in a boat and all that but since I couldn’t swim, I was so worried that the boat might flip over (which, it wouldn’t but I’m just paranoid like thatplus there’s no life jackets and such. But! I enjoyed it anyway. What I dislike is- in almost every corner, they sell the same thing and it’s not cheap either. The first few sections are food, there’s some live band going on and then it’s just rows and rows of souvenirs, all selling the same thing. Maybe the most you can try is the coconut ice cream but I didn’t try any of the food sold on the boats.After taking a trip around with the boat and tipping the aunty (you gotta pay 20 baht), we head over to the food court where…the food is so-so. We tried the first stall located at the main entrance and it’s not exactly expensive but the taste could be better. Don’t order any pineapple fried rice there. It’s bland and tasteless. Pad Thai is slightly better but nowhere good either. The only salvation I found there is coconut water.My advise is, before your trip to the market or anywhere for that matter, pack some light food in your bag so you can munch it along the way and you can save the money for better food back in Bangkok or wherever you’re headed to. Just…maybe avoid eating at the food court. Unless you’re starving like crazy or have gastric issues. And remember, DON’T and I repeat, DON’T buy anything from the market, the prices are hiked up and they’re targeting tourists like you and me, so just go there for the experience. Sit on the boat, take some pics and vids, tip the lady and go.

Very cool experience. Everyone is very friendly, lots of things to see and of course buy. Theres food, clothes and souvenir stalls outside of the water too so you dont have to feel pressured to buy stuff whilst youre on the boats.

Enjoyable for shopping and eating. Floating market by boat is 300thb/person and parking fee is 20thb.

As all the reviews said, be careful with the drivers taking you to the fake boat tours that are minutes before the market they want to charge you over 1000, in this photo is where you want to be dropped (the entrance of the market)… I’ll suggest you to use your GPS and make sure you arrive to the entrance of the market. The normal prices for the boat is 200, and the vendors are going to sell things way expensive, so don’t be afraid to offer less, is a place for tourist so you know what to expect. i found the hats I was looking for so that’s nice. Have fun!

Very interesting and unique experience. You just sit and relax in the boat and it takes you to different shops. More expensive products than normal markets but worth the experience. Lot (our boat driver and guideis a great guy, look for him!

I wasnt aware that this market was only accessible via river boat tours due to poor planning and research. My family of four paid 800 baht per person and it was well worth it.If youre uncomfortable with pushy sales then this might not be the boat ride for you or you could let the staff know youre not interested in stopping by souvenir shops. The food and souvenirs are pricier at the start of the tour but when you reach the actual marker the food is very affordable.It was a fun one time experience for us. Will definitely recommend if you havent done anything similar before.

Impressive experience as floating market is one of the signature spots of Thailand. As the market is one of the most traditional one. I recommend you to join the local tour to experience that. Of course， handicrafts sell there is too expensive to even bargain.... anyway, just take pictures or gain experience from there, has been good enough.

The boat price now is 4000bhat/boat which can fit 5 to 6 people. Many shop closing down, most of the shop selling souvenir. The food there getting less compare to my previous visit. The boats driver didnt stop for us to buy food although we request with him. It is okay to have experience once at there since it is famous and characteristic in Thailand.

This place is about 100 miles (approxaway from Bangkok. At the counter they provide packages which are bit pricy (considering Thailand standards). I took the boating to visit the floating market and the elephant ride. Rides are really good. Its good to see how the boats are traveling in to the narrow channels. Floating market for tourists. Come there, take a boat for 400 baht (I didnt haggle, didnt have the patience, this is a price for one boat for 4 peoplefor an hour and a bit guided sail through the market. The car park is also 20 baht. You can buy souvenirs, local food, beer and some fruits there. Seems that only tourists visit this place at the moment. Now after COVID the place is not fully open, but in a good working condition. Not crowded now.The place is mostly shaded and there are a few mosquitos here and there. The market also has a walking part with the same products sold, so this could be enough for a short visit. The prices are very inflated and can be often lowered to at least 1/3 of the original price. Even after this, they are above the common Thai prices, but the market indeed has its unique items here and there.The floating market experience is interesting, but not fun :( You are dragged from one shop to another, while the boat driver and the seller deciding where you should go. In one case, I asked to go into one shop and the boat driver just took me to another, with "the same" items. So enjoy the ride, think of how it used to be back then and take nice pictures, but dont expect it to be a good shopping experience. If you do want to shop, consider doing it on the walking part of the market, the prices there are a bit more reasonable and its easier to haggle when you can choose where to go next. Also, the sellers here are very pushy. I was grabbed a few times by my hand to take a look at their stuff and also blocked a few times while walking by a seller showing me his best shirt. I just kept waking, but still it has a bad taste to it :(

This is a fun place to visit. The market is very clean, though they do seem to have a major fly issue. I really enjoyed visiting the market, but its difficult for foreigners to see this many flies all over food. I wanted to let everyone know what to expect and not be surprised. This will allow you to keep your expectations in line and enjoy yourself at the floating market.The food was really delicious and if you sit near a fan you can keep the pests away.The boat ride into the market is best taken between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.The boat ride coats 300 baht per person for the motor driven boat or 200 baht per person for a boat that is paddled. Both are guided by a local.

This is certainly one of the must visit places for tourists in Bangkok. This was my second time and this time with spouse. We enjoyed long tail boat and paddle boat ride through the canals.

The famous floating market, and unlike others which are standing markets floating on water, this one uses boats to buy&sell.You go around and stop where you request. Some sellers have fixed stalls some have boats that come to you. The coconut ice cream selling boat had some delicious stuff. You can barter on prices but dont be too harsh, they are only trying to make a livingYou can also float around and see the houses and the local life here. Completely different to the western world but they seemed happy. Covid has really hit this place hard and its very quiet with very few tourists and boats.

Beautiful place outside of bangkok, not very crowed on saturday.Beware of boat trip, I got ripped of 1700 Bhat for 1.5 hours boat trip. When you reach floating market skip the first two piers, tell the cab driver to drive directly to floating matket, there you can find an hour trip for 300 Bhat, which is enough to cover the whole market.

Business has dwindled drastically because of the covid19 pandemic. Not as busy as before. Many stalls have closed. Place has become quiet with fewer tourists

Beware how you buy a ticket here, at first they will offer you a ticket a person that gonna cost you 2000B second offer 1500B per person and at last we make a deal on 1000B per person, When my friend called me actually they can rent a boat not going to charge us per person.Beware on the first stop restaurant they called, The cashier extra charge us a plate unknown rice that we didnt order. Inside still have more hawker stall and restaurant.No credit card friendly and they do speak some mandarin.Not a best place for souvenirs but mostly all of the lot was souvenirs 😐The best was the food on the boat was spacial.

Great place for tourists to visit about 1.5 hrs outside of Bangkok! You can find a variety of food and souvenirs along the river, and most vendors are willing to bargain prices down.Just be warned, many taxi drivers will try to scam you by dropping you off at tour companies about 5 minutes away from the actual market. They give prices starting at 2000 Baht per person for a 2 hour boat ride through the market. Please dont fall for it. If you demand to be taken to the actual start of the market you can find prices around 100-300 Baht per person for an hour boat ride through the market.Absolutely worth the visit, just be careful who you are trusting to take you.

The Damnoen Sadist Floating Market opens on Sunday mornings. The floating market has many vendors on boat selling wares and food such as coconut ice cream, mango sticky rice, boat noodles and many other local fruits and produce. It is an interesting experience purchasing food and fruits from them on the boats.

Aside from the scam, the market itself isn’t spectacular. There are not many stalls and the merchandise is all souvenirs, which we weren’t interested in. The prices are extremely marked up and you can find the same items elsewhere for cheaper. There are only a few merchants selling food and drinks from their boat. The rest of the market were stalls on the docks that we float next to in the boat. We stopped by a coconut sugar “factory” but all we could see was another souvenir shop.Avoid the scam. Our taxi driver was hired by our hotel and he charged us a low 1500 baht for a full day trip. Originally we had agreed on just going to Amphawa market but he insisted that we go to Damneon as well. He said that Amphawa wasn’t open till 3pm today so we should go there first. He brought us to a boat stall farther out from the actual market and we paid 3000 baht for two people to go on the boat tour.The boat tour itself actually wasn’t bad. Our driver was kind and did his best to communicate with us in English. He brought us to the market, pointed out monitor lizards and water snakes as we passed them. He even paid for us to feed fish in the river which was fun. We made the most of the experience even though we fell for the tourist trap.

This was one of the places in Thailand we had been looking forward the most to see. And what a disappointment. Because of covid and the massive fall in tourism many shops along the water was closed and there were almost no boat sellers. We thought we were going to taste a lot of food and snacks from the different boats. But they only had beers and mango sticy rice.All the shops sold the same things and many of them pulled us in even though we already said no to coming in. It was not a nice experience at all.Because there were almost no other tourists we had many of the klongs to ourselves and here we paddled in silence seeing the Thai and wild life. That was really nice.I would sadly not recommend going here as it is now.

We drove out here from Bangkok and I thought it was worth the visit as I enjoyed the boat ride which was 400 baht for a private boat to take us around in the morning. There was some tourist clothes shops when you get to the area where you hire the boat and places you could buy a bite to eat. But what we enjoyed was just the relaxing slow boat ride around the canals and looking at the different shops along the water. They do take you to a big tourist type shop which has some interesting arts and crafts and tourist stuff there but we did not buy anything. We ended up getting some food and drink off one of the little floating restaurant street food vendors which we both enjoyed. Overall I thought it was reasonably priced for the private boat and the length of time we spent in the canals. So, there once probably was a market where merchants sold their goods from boats or you could purchase stuff from your boat.But now there is just a big tourist trap with only sellers of souvenirs and food, where you can float around and have yourself parked at shops. So if you know this and have no other expectations: could be fun. Not into a place with lots of tourists and souvenirs? Consider spending time elsewhere. Took us around an hour and the kids liked it, so 3* for us.

Still a bit quiet after covid. But even then, not worth for a day trip from Bangkok. Too long drive for the experience. We came through during a round trip, so it was just another stop.

Floating market tour was a special experience to me. We just sat on the boat and bought the souvenirs or food from the stalls along the canale. When I went there before the covid, there were many tourists in the market and the boats were stucked in the canale some of the time.

An amazing experience to live in Bangkok. The trip is super fun and impressive, the food is good and the people seems nice. Basically you can travel through the whole village, get to the market and buy stuff from the boat. Was awesome! 🤩

If by some mistake you embark on this trip outside Bangkok to go to this floating market, make sure you are driven to the correct entrance.The taxi cab or driver will often drop you off on the side of the road where there is a canal tour "service" to get access to the market. DO NOT GO ON THEM AND DEMAND TO BE DRIVEN TO THE ACTUAL MARKET. Yes for a floating market you can actually just pull up with your car and gain access. Unless you want to be $60-90 bucks for a ride through touristy hell where vendors try to sell you the same Chinese made knick knacks for an 1000% markup, just drive the extra five minutes to the market.Even there though the place seems to have been gutted by covid or by people realizing its not a viable option to go too. Not to many floating vendors as you will probably see way more tourists being driven along the canal. There are some nice spots to sit and enjoy a coffee nearby, which I included in my pictures, but certainly not worth the hassle to get too.If youre in the area drive 15 minutes down the road to the Maeklong Train Market instead.

This is a tourist trap, so expensive, the boat driver do not care at all where you want to stop and where not. Shops charge 5 the time of the city. Such a waste of time, they wanted 4500 bht for 1 hour boat, we negotiate for 2500 and it was a WASTE OF MONEY there were only 3 shops open, and when we got to other market where it was open the boat driver didnt let us go there at all, so wasted 2000 on a getting here and 2500 on being here and had to spend more 1000 on things I dont need because they just dont let you go because you are stuck on the boat and the driver choose where to stop. 5500 went to waste! Just dont do it, no matter what they promise you. One star is way to much to give them

The stalls were 50% closed due to COVID19 though we were advised that few shops will be thereAlso bring al mosquito repellent! Theres a lot of mosquitos 🦟 out there. Water was dirty, I hope that the people living there will clean up the place like there were several plastic and empty bottles floating around the corner.

Find the 70 year old grandma in her boat! Had one of the tastiest pad Thai’s I’ve ever had. Honestly better than most pads I tried when I was in Thailand, and I had 10. :all the other food from the boats were fantastic too!!

Loved it. Super unique. Keep in mind that everything is set with a 300% markup specifically for tourists so just be sure to buy something to support this local attraction. But dont complain when you find something cheaper in town. Example... a tuktuk souvenir is 300 baht (after negotiating from 500, but the same exact one at the MBK Shopping Center is 150)

Avoid this tourist trap. Overpriced boats (2000 baht per boatand around 70% of stores were closed. Those that were open only really sell generic tourist souvenirs. There were also hardly any other boats in the canals. Would not recommend going here.

Wonderful range of food, Try the coconut pancakes and mango stick rice! Stall holders are very happy to see visitors again but arent too pushy. Barter for a boat ride. 30 or 60 mins. As a farang I got it to 200baht then didnt go lower.Parking on site for 20baht. Toilets are 5 baht.

Quite far from Bangkok. Place just open from post-Covid. Still, not all shops are open to visitors. Sampan@small boat ride along the canal. Item sells not so cheap. Need to have bargaining skills. Advice, dont stop and ask for the item if you dont intend to buy it. A public toilet is clean and charges 5 bhat. There is one Muslim food stall at the back of the boat point, about 50m.Very nice and tasty food at a reasonable price. Recommended.

So sad to see the market so empty. Felt sorry for the workers there and had to buy a few stuff just as a way of helping. Yes things are overpriced but still we are in Thailand. Many souvenirs, clothes, 1 or 2 boats with food and drinks. Beer for $150 baths, souvenirs from $100 baths. The boat trip was smooth and nice, 400 baths for the boat being a couple. Went from Bangkok downtown with a taxi driver agreed for 1200 for both floating and train market for the day. Just tell them you want to go to the main entrance of the market on the road, not by boat and that you won’t pay anything extra beside the taxi and the 400 for the boat and it will work out fine.

It is beginning to attract tourists again after Thailand opened. However, the products on sale are dusty, or old. But at least it commerce has returned.

The floating market of Damnoen Saduak is very disappointing and is not worth a stop in my opinion. There are very few vendors on the water but mostly vendors on land that we can approach by boat. Only souvenirs are sold but almost no fruits or vegetables, its a pity.Moreover, the cost of the boat is 2000 baths, which is excessively expensive to visit a market devoid of vendors and absolutely not alive.An "avenue" on the water however that I found particularly beautiful, decorated with a multitude of lanterns. And beautiful landscapes of jungle to appreciate during the boat walk.

This floating market is very touristy. You may get dropped off via minivan or taxi about a few hundred meters from the actual floating market. They generally drop you off further away with the hopes that you’ll pay for the expensive motor boat tour/ride to the market (the experience is about 1hr long).Instead it’s better to walk a few hundred meters to the market and save yourself the money. At the floating market itself you can pay be for a much cheaper human powered boat around the market (we paid 200baht for two people).While on the top the guide will move the boat along the market to the various vendors. Some guides will stop at many vendors and some will skip some. We tried to tell our guide we’re not interested but she didn’t listen and continued to move from vendor to vendor.Overall this floating market wasn’t that great. Mainly just vendors trying to sell you things you can find in most tourist shops in Thailand. It’s best to go to the Amphawa floating market that’s nearby via taxi and not waste your time and money with this one.

Nice place to visit, but you have to come early in the morning to enjoy because they close the shops and the boat rides like 4 pm. Tale care with taxi scammers or not reliable tours. Always take pictures of the guy who is riding and the plate of the car. They always want to ride you to the place they want and not where you want. Take care with this. Close that place is Mae Klong train market, is amazing to.

A lovely place and must be great during its peak however it’s badly affected by Covid with just a few stalls available and lack of tourists. Overall still a good experience.

Its an interesting place to take the family to show them not just the floating markets but also our boat captain. Took use out and about the canal system it was interesting to see how people live around the water ways of greater Bangkok. Take a powered boat.

First of all I would like to warn you that you should make sure that the taxi driver actually drops you at the Damnoen Saduak floating market. Most Taxi drivers will drop you 2km away from the floating market at a scam where they will over charge you for the boat. (3000baht or morethe Taxi driver will get a commission. Dont fall for this and bargain for less.Also 1 hour is enough 2 hour is nice if you go to the temple as well.You should pay no more then 1500 baht for a boat.But overal it is a very relaxing and fun boat ride. The coconut water and mango are delicious which you can buy from nice thai ladies on the market floating by.We went at the end of april and the market was pretty empty. This was probably because corona really hit their bussiness.

One of the only floating markets working for now in the city.Good experience although the put pressure on tourist to buy stuff since they have not been working for a while, be careful as some prices are a little more than in other places in Thailand

Tourist oriented floating market and hour drive from Bangkok.Little bit crowded in Pre-Covid era, now not so busy. Any case, if going from Bkk, leave as early as 6:00 to beat bus loads of tourists.Nice place to enjoy the boat rides, experience the market. Many souvenirs available at a nit noi (Little bithigher price. Lots of eating places if you love Thai food. Challenge for Vegetarians except for Mangoes and guava.

This is a floating market full of places to eat, drink, stores, etc. Unfortunately with COVID there was hardly anyone there, when it’s normally bustling with people. Still, well worth the trip from Bangkok and make sure you take a boat ride so you can really see how awesome this place is.
