Homey, unassuming German & American place with schnitzel & some Korean items like bulgogi.
Owner guy is always polite, food is absolutely amazing.
It was never open when I kept trying to go and get Schnitzel.... disappointed. Was craving German food...
Awesome food and service. To bad its never open anymore. Who in the restaurant world takes off Saturday? I drove an hour and a half yesterday to see they were closed. The time before that we get there and they only serve food in store until 6 pm we got there at 5 after 6.Im not sure ill try to come back to my favorite restaurant in Clarksville anymore. Seems like a waste of time and money.
Outside nothing to look at inside bare bones. But. Good food and service at low price. Saw military personnel eating there.
I love this place! My mom and I have been eating here for years and the bulgogi is our favorite.
Muy catfish sandwich was good. My friend’s schnitzel was ok... lacked flavor.
The food and service at campbells kitchen is 100% better
Horrible place, there was mold and stains everywhere and the food was gross. Looking at their nasty ceiling made me lose my appetite
I really enjoy the Jaeger schnitzel! I appreciate the family friendly atmosphere and the service is quick.
Great food, Great service. Come here any time we have to go to Fort Campbell. Wanted to shout out again how great the food and service is at this restaurant. We always stop here when we go to Fort Campbell. 10 stars
Food is outstanding. You get plenty of food and service is outstanding. Staff is friendly and overall experience was fantastic.
The restaurant is small but amazing!!! Tried the Bulgogi and the Schnitzel. I would highly recommend both! Will be back again!!!
Do not go here for Korean food at all. Absolutely disgusting. Their mundo sauce taste like absolutely straight vinegar, the mundo itself was complete mush on the inside. The mundo smelled like straight French fries as well like they didn’t change their oil recently. The bimbimbop was awful, the meat was salty instead of usual bulgolgi meat that is sweet. There was canned spinach in it tasted straight like a cup of salt and shredded lettuce that was wilted. The mushrooms were also canned just straight mush and salt. The only decent tasting item was the rice, egg and carrots. It even tasted like water crest-nuts or what it appeared to be instead of bean sprouts.
A very generous 3 stars for this joint. The food was simply OKAY. The schnitzel is nothing to go home and brag about, Ive probably had better fried steaks at a breakfast joint. The salad was good but its just cabbage. Didnt even bother touching mashed potatoes since the portion of schnitzel is massive. Place smells a little old and the water tastes like bad tap water.
Had Jagerschnitzle. Excellent lunch. Only place I know where you can have quality German and Korean food.
The times I have been in there, everything was great. I have one particular memory. I was there with my daughter, she was about 3 yrs old (approx 2015). She was overly curious as to what was going on in the kitchen, while we waited for our to-go order. An older gentleman comes and squats down to her level, and he kindly asked her for help. He told her that it would be such a great help if she could unload the bus trays into the sink, that she could barely reach. He was very sincere and patient with her, as if there was nothing else in the world. I believe that is what is missing from this world.
We never pass up the chance to eat here when in town! Good Selection of food, a little something for everyone. Great Prices for Great Food!
Love this restaurant. Every time I visit my dad, we have to get the schnitzel. Love the potatoes and cabbage. Makes me miss Germany. When I went in every thing was very clean and ship shape. I actually was very surprised by the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Very impressed. Highly recommend.
Food - delicious. Jaeger schnitzel with cabbage and potatoes was fantastic, in every way. Five stars.Customer service - great. Food didnt take long to come out and lady was really nice with everything. No issues. Five stars.Facility - filthy. Unfortunately. Floors, windows, and overall lack of cleanliness is an issue. Dead bugs in window sills next to where Im eating. Layers of dirt on the floor for no reason. Why? The bathroom....🤢 looks like a bar bathroom. Again, why? Absolutely no reason for this. Theyre not that busy for the place to look this dirty. Its just a lack of cleanliness. Zero stars.Besides that, it was all good. It was a shame. Id love to return but doubt it because of the condition.🤷♀️. Hopefully theyll take care of that. They could get so many more customers by just cleaning up the place, just saying.
We tried the asian food and it was horribleThe fried rice tasted like minute rice & had nothing in it ( no veggies, chicken, just rice)The food tasted like it was made sometime ago and just reheated, it was stale.Looked unsanitary, too
To be honest, we took one look at the exterior and almost went somewhere else . But the reviews raved about the food and staff, so we decided to try it out. So glad we did! The food was great and the staff was very friendly. A great testament to not judging a book by its cover. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Excellent food and wonderful service. The staff was attentive and very considerate. I would definitely recommend them.
We always get schnitzel and crab rangoons. I love the cole slaw and potato salad! Very affordable meals, quality has always been excellent.
Great food and service. We enjoyed our meal in a new town as we just moved here from another state.
The best German food I have ever had. The jagerscnitzel, potato salad, and Cole slaw are my absolute favorite. Prices are good, and the staff is great. I like talking to Mark whenever he has a chance. Highly recommended place.
Sunshines is one of my favorite places to eat a quick and filling lunch. I will admit, I havent tried their Korean side of their menu but their German food selection is good! The serving sizes are large and flavorful. The perfect sized lunch is their schnitzel sandwich. It is fast and reasonably priced. Definitely a place I take people to try when they are visiting.
I hate to leave a bad review but I don’t understand how this place is open. I saw 4.5 stars on google and decided to try it and it was so disappointing. When we walked in the employees were sitting at a table on their phones, and not looking presentable at all. All of the food tasted as if were out of a can or a bag, I feel awful saying it was awful but there’s no other way to describe our experience.
Took my husband here for his birthday. Is the best food, bagogi was amazing, Dad has the curry (We ordered one to go), son fell in love with their wings (He loves spicy), schnitzel was loves by the family as well. Staff and owner make ya feel at home. Best service ever. Will always drive and hr from home just to eat at Sunshines.
I think they may be under new management because this last trip I made was horrible. There were not any familiar faces. The food was bland and didn’t have any taste. Before this change, I would’ve gave five stars !
Awesome German food & Korean food. What an unusual combo! The owners been there over 40+ years. Good food and service. Will be back.
Went here for the first time today. And let me tell you its as close to as being in Germany for the food as you can get.
First visit and was impressed by the variety on their menu, fast service, hot food and incredible prices! Went back the next day to try something else, was not disappointed
One of the best places to eat in Clarksville, TN. They serve large portions and food is great!! Our family orders everything from cheeseburgers, catfish, schnitzel, shrimp fried rice, bulgogi, egg rolls with mondu sauce, German potato salad and cole slaw, and when you are feeling well, Annie makes the best egg drop soup. We love Sunshine Restaurant!
Great food!!! Such an eclectic variety of dishes on the menu. German, Korean, all American. Big portion sizes with super reasonable prices. Just look at that schnitzel!
This is quite easily overlooked as its the classic definition of a "hole in the wall" kind of place. Run-down decor, and the windows have a hilarious amount of treatments that are worth a conversation by themselves. But the food — thats no joke. The schnitzel is always massive, and the sides are spot-on. Great place. Im sure these walls have lots of stories to tell!
Theyll give you a lot of food for what you order. As far as schnitzel goes, theyve made the best Ive had in the area.
Food amazingly yummy !! I had the schnitzel and it was a huge serving, hubby had a soup and rice dish and same thing large portions. We will be back as the food is great as well as the service was fast and friendly !! love this place !!
One of the best sit down restaurants Ive ever been to. The food is always great and at a very good price. The service is fast and friendly.
Love this place. Catfish and schnitzel are great. Not a big staff, so if its packed you might have to wait.
We found schnitzel here and loved it. Would also like to thank the couple who paid for our dinner after hearing that we are displaced Floridians after Hurricane Irma. In addition, the owner treated us to dessert! Thank you!
Its okay, its several types if food in one stop. The sweet and sour chicken sauce tasted funny, but the kids grilled cheese meal was on point so was the German potato salad. The crab wontons were crispy but tasty.
Great place. If something isnt to taste, ask them to spice it up and they will. Great portions, great atmosphere. Clean. Friendly staff... oh and its KOREAN / German, not Chinese.
Amazing food. Fyi schnitzel is more like a fried tenderloin... Bulgogi is superb!!!! Tea super delicious!! Homey, low key place!! We will be coming back often
Great food at a reasonable price. Hugeservings. If you get the house fried rice plan on either bringing a friend or taking enough in a to go box for the next day. Hot pork? Yes, its hot...but theyll tame it down for you if you ask. The owners are nice and friendly too
Lots of food for the money. We got the jäger schnitzel. Slightly bland. The potato salad and cabbage was perfect. Not too sour, not lacking flavor. Its a bit of a hole in the wall, but clean and the staff is very nice
Jager Schnitzel was lacking flavorJager sauce was lacking flavor and watered downVinegar Coleslaw goodPotato salad had consistency of mashed potatoes was okay.Steak fries and grilled cheese sandwich were very good. They also have asian food on the menu but I did not try any.Dining area reminded me of grandmas den - every wall had wood paneling and everything was dated. This restaurant has been around for years so I am sure a lot of people like it, I was not at all impressed.
I met the owner at the river District and plan on taste testing soon. Sounds very tasty. Nice, friendly man cant wait to try all your food Wes, See you soon!!
My family gets carry out every other week from Sunshine cafe. Great German and Korean food. Large portions, excellent service, reasonable prices & very close to my home.
Large portions very affordable and plenty of various of food options... May look like a hole in the wall place but it had exceptional food. My family was very content. Give it a try :)
Serving both German and Asian foods. A great place for lunch, the prices are very good lunch prices. For $5 I had the schnitzel sandwich and at $2 a side I also ordered the f ried rice. Both the rice and sandwich were really good. The rice had a good favlor and I got a good amount of it. The schnitzel was tasty and a good portion as well.Others were ordering the plates of food which looked very large, you get a lot of food for the price and its quality food too! I would eat here again! There arent many places in this area of Clarksville with good food, so its very pleasing to find a good place to eat. Most of the other food sucks in this area so Sunshine is the only real place to go if you want good food. I want to go back to try more of the Asian food next time.Place reminds me of chinese resturants back in NJ, not super clean but not dirty. Nice people working inside too. When you enter, make notice of the wifi password, its quite...interesting.
