Sunset Grill - Grill in Truth or Consequences, United States
Best shrimp basket ever!!!!
The lemonade tasted like dishwater.
Absolutely a Must for our family! Love Sunset Grill!
Service was great.nice waitress.
Amazing food passing through to Albuquerque. Service is very friendly.
Good food and customer service. Or it was the first time I went in. Was in town and checked their hours on goodle. It said they close at 8 walked in at 7:15 and the girl was cashing someone out and without looking up said were closed I just havent changed the signs.
Love this place. Good home cooking. Great wait staff! Kelly is awesome!
Sandwich was tasty, service was good. A 50s looking cafe. A hole in flooring could cause a fall. Right at entry.
Very good food!
Love the food and customer service. It is a hidden treasure.
Food wasnt bad just was out of what I wanted
Reyes sure can cook! The Adovada is the best in town!
Stopped in while traveling to the lake near by. We called in out order and it was ready for us when we arrived. the fish and shrimp stole the show and ended the show with strawberry rhubarb pie, boy what a night. the place is cute and witty (must see it understand will be returning on out lake outings. Thank you for a great meal.
Always good food, and well priced.
Food was great server was amazing good portions. Best biscuits and gravy in town…
Great breakfast and hometown style service. A regular stop in T or C for sure.
Delicious food and diverse menu. The decor is fun to look at. The staff is great to talk to.
My husband & I enjoy the food & service is "always" wonderful.
After asking waitress several times to wear her mask, she refused. Blatant attitude towards customers. Will not return...
Really good breakfast! The portion size is big!
After a long day of soaking in the hot springs we decided to take a drive and stumbled across this gem! Eddie fries were #Bomb the nachos were #Delish! Adovada carnitas is 🔥 ! Got the Karen enchiladas Christmas style👌 just over all the gang and I were in food heaven ♡ chile relleno is definitely honorable mentioned, and the stuff sopapillas. Just down right amazing. Great service will be back!
Ordered biscuit & gravy. Very good. Coffee was excellent. Very good service.
A menu that offers salads, pasta dishes, burgers, and, importantly, Mexican dishes. I had a plate called Karens Enchilada Plate. Hands down, best enchiladas, beans, and rice I have ever eaten. Two enchiladas of carne adovada (pork simmered long in red chile saucein corn tortillas topped with red and green chile sauces and a little cheese. Tenderest pork you will ever eat. Everything was perfectly spiced and seasoned. Simply outstanding! If ever youre in the Truth or Consequences / Elephant Butte area, I hope its still open when you get here because you must eat here!
It was a beautiful place, good music
They make great sopapillas and my youngest son will only eat those at times.
The waitress was very nice but The walls had food on them and filthy, ants were in a line, flies all over and the ceiling tiles were badly stained and drooping. The food was just mediocre.
Loved it! Simple grill. Love the small town feel. The chopped green chili was amazing! Also loved that there was something on the menu for all in my party. Perfect spot after the Hot springs.
OK, the place is a little old and somewhat run down. However the wait staff hustles and are friendly regardless of how busy things are. The food is always on point and the prices cant be beat.
The food was excellent! My waitress Charita made me feel royal.
Food was good. Only one cook and one waitress due to staff shortages. Thought they did a great job!
Despite being short staffed, the service was friendly and amazing. The food turned out fantastic! I would definitely eat here again the next time I come by
This place is a hidden gem! Stopped while passing through on a trip and realized we were looking for Mexican food on a Sunday (not advised). The Sunset Grill saved the day and the food was 🔥!The waitress was working the entire place by herself all day and crushed it-super friendly, took care of everything we needed and recommended places to visit in the are. 10/10 will stop here the next time we are in town. The restaurant was taking COVID seriously and everyone was distanced properly. What a treat!
This place was awful. Got here at 12 & my food was served cold at 12:45. I will NEVER eat here again
I understand we are in unprecedented times and businesses all over are struggling to make ends meet let alone pay their employees. Fair enough. However, I feel if you choose to stay open and serve the public, especially restaurants, you at least try to make an effort and do just that. The Sunset Grill failed miserably!Called in an order for two breakfast burritos. The server said it would take about 20 minutes. Showed up at the restaurant about 30 minutes later only to learn the order hadnt even been started. Waited an additional 25 minutes to get some pretty awful basic burritos. As the order was being rung up, server didnt have the right price and overcharged me. Server thanked me for "catching" the error.Avoid this place if you can.
Server was great and I appreciated the cleanliness of the place. Pens and surfaces were all cleaned in front of me. I paid $8 for a burrito with just beans, rice, and hashbrowns. It was good, but definitely not $8 good. Would give more stars if it wasn’t overpriced.
Great food and service. Callie was a great waitress. Very clean and social distancing.
Portions were great, food was great waitress was great just wished they had more choices on the drinks. Waitress explained their CO2 was out. Very pleased any ways.
This used to be our familys fave but lately weve had poor service and the reviews reflect this. We placed a to-go order while we were in the restaurant. The server with the East Coast accent took it. When we arrived home with our order, we realised we had too much food. And yes, he charged us for it. We dine here twice or more p/week and dont usually have this happen. When I called in, the same server answered. I explained we received too much and would like a refund or some exchange since we eat here regularly. He offered no service and was very rude. He acknowledged he might have been confused and then told me "They dont double check the orders that go out. Its the customers responsibility". I explained that this had never happened to us to know this. He refused anything refund because we already paid (and tipped him enough that he thanked us). My Husband took the extra plates back and attempted to speak to the "Owner". The man that came out didnt greet my Husband but instead said to him "I told her we wont refund anything and you dont have to come back here. I guess I wont see you here again". He isnt even the Owner. He is a poor excuse of a Manager running customers out of his Moms restaurant when he can barely afford to pay his help $4 an hour and treats customers this way. Its unfortunate for the kind, morning waitresses that he chooses to treat loyal customers this way. This is why this establishment cant be open more than the limited hours they operate. Running customers and employees out is no way to run a business. And by the way, our order was made wrong, full of salt, and cold.
It was really nice to chat with everyone here. The place has a good vibe and the food tasted great. It didnt sit well though and unfortunately made one of us sick through the night.
I would NOT recommend this place! We got there and waited for a good 15 minutes to THEN be told we could sit ourselves but only a specific area. They didnt even offer us the other side? Once we sat down we waited a good 20 min before we were finally offered a menu and a chance to order drinks. Waiter was NOT attentive at all with us. The waiter almost seemed as if she were avoiding us, she didnt ask us once if we needed refills on chips or our drinks. But she was attentive with every other person who walked in or who were already seated. We finally got up to leave, and went to pay for just our drinks. THEN the waiter attempted to be nicer when she saw we were agitated and offered to get our food to go. While she was boxing our food up she put her fingers and hands all over our food while boxing it. Cleanliness and professionalism is OFF the table for these folks! The food that was given to us was very dry, we didn’t receive the chili we asked for, we ordered the tamale entree and the entree that included cheese enchilada, chili Relleno, taco and tamale and it was DISGUSTING. We also ordered two dr. Peppers that tasted like complete syrup, not even Dr Pepper!!I also called a few hours later because of the fact of having to check out and leaving at a reasonable time to make it home at a decent hour and the manager was completely inconsiderate of our visit!!! I asked for a refund for our food that was TOUCHED BY THE WAITOR, after not receiving our chili, and the poor service and she was absolutely rude and unapologetic and REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND over the entrees?!?! This place is VERY unprofessional In ALL aspects. I would NOT bother even going here.
Great service and good food. You definitely get your moneys worth here. They give you large portions for low prices. This is the best restaurant in T Or C, NM.
I was sorely disappointed to be charged (alotfor salad dressing. I asked politely for a little bit of dressing and wham pow bonk on the head I got a big big charge on my bill. Really? Like will it make or break to give some salad dressing when I order a salad?? You totally lost my business. I hate greedy restaurants. Puh-leezz
Delicious! We had the nachos supreme and definitely recommend them. We also had the ham club and amazing! We also had the pleasure of meeting Cally (hope I’m spelling it correctlyshe was such an kind and polite woman. We enjoyed ourselves.
while the biscuits and gravy were great and filling, the wait time for them and for the waitress to take out order was horrible. My uncle on the same visit found a hair in his eggs.
We stopped in today to have breakfast/lunch. Place was not to busy, waitress was at cash register checking out customer a said seat yourself. We sat for 8 minutes at which waitress passed us at least 3 times and did not offer menu. New customers came in and she went directly to tbem and offered menu and drinks. We left, very poor service.
I love this restaurant. Everything Ive had here is amazing and cooked the way you like it. Please come and enjoy.
Thought it would be a good place to eat. Showed up at 1045am to grab breakfast. After a recommendation from the Server I decided to go with the Chicken Fried Steak Special. After waiting for 45 minutes I hear the Chef YELL out to my Server that she didnt have gravy for my chicken fried steak. "Thats what they get for for ordering breakfast for lunch!" Dont know who the Chef was but very unprofessional! My server was amazing however. Made recommendation to cover with red chile and cheese which was very delicious. Food was good & service from server was amazing. Giving a 3 STAR rating for a 50 minute wait time and the lack of professionalism from the Chef yelling out her comment for all to hear.
Service was good.. food though, yeah my red sauce tasted like it came from a TV dinner, no spices in taco meat then the rice.... I spit it out, salsa taste like pace the relleno wasnt bad but loaded with seeds... Would I eat there again, only if nothing else was open and I was starving.
Went here while waiting for my car repair at Whitehead. Wasnt really crowded and the server was pleasant. The food was average and the portions were generous. One plate is easily enough for two. Would go back again.Came back again a week later ordered cheese ravioli with salad and bread. Ravoili was flavorless, sauce was hot like salsa, salad was pitififul bagged salad. I asked for vinegar and the cap we all jacked up. 9.50 for that. Go grab a bag is pasta from Wal-Mart. So much better. :( horrible experience. Wont be back
NOT ACCOMMODATING!My wife has been through two stomach surgeries with her GI doctor and weve found that unsweetened coconut milk with her meal was the only thing that soothes her stomach during a meal. We were told by our server that outside food or beverages were not allowed even for medicinal purposes. We left.
