An array of traditional Southeast Asian dishes are on the menu at this no-frills eatery.
Intimate place with a real family feel. Food seemed super fresh and flavorful. Will definitely be going back to experience more of this menu.
Great and friendly service and the food was amazing!
Food was on point, immense selection and the prices are cheap!
Love the food at Sunny. Can be a bit slow sometimes. Tough for two people to keep up when they get busy.
So fresh and flavorful. Great service
Delicious the food here tasted fresh and portions where plentiful. The establishment is kept clean and staff is friendly. Will definitely come back and dine here again.
Pretty slow service, food is bland and I order general tso chicken and got frozen pop corn chicken instead with the sauce 😩 never again getting this dish here lol
I ordered pai Thai, but the noodles is not really pai Thai noodle. This is an Cambodia restaurant not a real Thai restaurant. Food is good, but the coffee is made by instant coffee.
Called at 1130 and told to call back an hour later because they were too busy. Tried to place a large order, ended up placing an order for $200 at another chinese restaurant nearby. Garbage restaurant.
One of Uticas best ethnic restaurants. If you like Pho, noodle dishes or traditional Asian its all good here.
Took 2 hours to serve food and there’s hair in the food but still charge fully for the price. I used to love going there for their best service and food but I don’t recommend going there anymore.
Best Cambodian food ever! The service is slow...very slow, but it is 100% worth the wait!Go, seriously, do it.
Sunnys has the absolute best, fresh food. Weve been there many times, also do takeout. Best Drunken Noodles ever!
great bai ka pow ive never had holy basil its so good try it hot. also surprisingly refreshing
It seems like they have a decent dining area. I got takeout though sesame chicken, a very popular dish. The sauce was alright but instead of sesame chicken I got soggy chicken balls. If you’re going to have the same menu as the standard Chinese restaurant don’t deviate so much from the recipe. It’s a possibility they would be crispy in the restaurant but not rly an excuse. Slightly higher price than regular Chinese takeout.
Amazing place! Great food, great prices, wonderful service!
The staff is great, the food delicious. Would absolutely go back!!
Stopped by here with my dad today to get lunch. Had never been here before so was unsure but trusted the reviews. I was not disappointed, it turned out to be one of the best meals Ive had in a long time. Everything was fresh, hot and flavorful. Staff was attentive and friendly, I most assuredly will be returning.
Great Asian food! Always fresh, healthy. Never greasy, seasonings just right. Great variety.
Such a lovely place to eat! The owner is beyond friendly and the food is spectacular! Theres always something new to try, definitely a favorite for my friends and I :)
Everything Ive tried has been wonderful and they are not shy when using spices when you ask for something "hot", which is great. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. This is one of my favorites in the Utica area!
Best Khmer food in Utica. Start with the Bor Bor or spring rolls. Try the drunken noodles or Mekatang. The pad-bie-ka-pow stir fried beef is a personal favorite, if you like some good spice. You wont be disappointed. Be sure to get a bubble tea while your at it. Great local family owned spot. Owner waits on all customers and it very nice. Place is very clean as well.
Everything Ive had here has been fresh and incredibly flavorful. This is where I prefer to eat whenever Im in Utica!
Great pan-Asian cuisine served by friendly staff in a cosy, inviting setting. We also have good time at Sunny Restaurant.
Havent been in a while. Not up to the same quality as we first experienced. Spring rolls were mostly lettuce. Entree was ok, but not a lot of flavor. Bride not impressed with Gen Tao.
The food is of reasonable quality, and very flavorful. The atmosphere is beautiful as well, with a kind owner. The place has a good vibe about it. It is worth a try!
Best multi oriental food place within its area. My personal favorite is the General Tso. Always a polite service. Usually do not have to wait long for mouth watering food. Excellent service, environment, and food.
It was really really good. Owner was nice and the food was excellent. Didnt expect such tasty food from this small restaurant. We had bor bor soup, sweet and sour soup. Lemon grass with shrimp and a specialty spicy dish the owner recommended. Everything was delicious, highly recommend this place.
Good food but you have to pay for rice to eat with your entree which is just blasphemy when it comes to asian restaurants. All chinese take out comes with a small rice for free because asian cuisine is meant to be enjoyed with rice. Paying for extra rice may be understandable but having to pay 2 dollars for an initial small rice to enjoy with your entree hurts the overall experience I would expect at an asian restaurant.
Always delicious, soup excellent, had Bangkok beef crispy noodles very good can get as spicy as you like.
Definitely a refreshing place if youre looking for Thai/Vietnamese food. Usually timely. The Pad Thai is top notch!
Weve been going to Sunnys now soon after it opened a couple years ago. The friendly service, food and atmosphere there is top notch! The quality of the dishes are as tasty as they are consistent. Its our familys "go to" Asian restaurant in Utica!
Service and food was wonderful. Vegetables fresh and good tasting. Good cook and attentive service.
Service is great but the food was bland. Ordered spicy hot food, three peppers, and was not spicy or hot at all. Also ordered a big bowl of noodles with meat and vegetables but was given a tiny container of sauce. There was sriracha sauce on the table, that somewhat made the meals edible. Thai food is supposed to be complex in flavors but this was certainly not it.
Love ordering food here! I get the Pad Thai on a regular basis. Its great to have well made Thai food so local!
Ordered sesame chicken that tasted like bbq sauce with seeds on it, followed by some very bland over cooked egg rolls. Very let down.
A variety of Asian options including Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, American-style Chinese and some dishes have a fusion of those ethnic food types. Large (maybe too large?menu with good quality and decent service.
Been going to the guys since they opened great food selection and prices awesome service hope they eventually find a bigger location to have more seating but my its my favorite Asian restaurant in the area after eating here you wont go back to crappy greasy Chinese food
The noodles here are delicious . They have a ton of things on their menu for every taste bud. Service is quick both take out and table service. I miss BYOB but it doesnt matter . It is still a nice place for great Asian cuisine.
Excellent authentic meal. Keep in mind - hot means hot! I asked " hot enough to make me cry but not kill me." They nailed it. Great bright flavors. I got the E7 I think (4 out of 3 Chile rated). My daughter got the NS1 noodle soup which such an awesome depth of flavor. She had to guard it to keep me from eating the leftovers.
Great Asian diner. Many Thai dishes, also Cantonese varieties including crispy egg noddle dishes. Dumplings, spring rolls, and egg rolls are must try. Dont forget to try their Thai Iced Tea! Sweet and delicious. Will definitely come back again!
First visit. Greeted cheerfully with a smile upon entering. Seated my wife, daughter, and I quickly. The place is relatively small seating for 50 people at most. Ordered a variety of dishes and just had them bring it out as each dish became ready as the three of us shared everything. Didnt wait long as things kept rolling out. We got noodles galore between the pho Vietnamese noodle soup, udon noodle soup, fried flat noodles, fried chow mien noodles, and pad Thai noodles...all of which were very good. The soups are a meal in and of themselves as the bowls are huge. Also got lemon grass chicken stir fry and beef loc lac that were worthwhile. Really enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee made with condensed milk. Will return for sure.
Amazing authentic pan Asian cuisine not often seen in Upstate New York. Its not your typical takeout Chinese food seen in other places. Great service, a recently updated dining room, kitchen etc. Moderately priced, and an incredible bargain for the price.
I have never seen anyone eating here, only for take out. I would suggest more eco friendly products for take out (no styrofoam or plastic bagsbiodegradable would be great! The food was kind of a mixed bag, there are a few ethnicities to choose from, which is fantastic! The Tom Yum soup was spectacular, I ordered tofu, it had great heat to it, and went well with the Thai iced tea. The lemongrass tofu/veggie dish was a little lacking in flavor. The "veggie" eggrolls were deep fried in a thin wrapper, about pinky sized, and filled with mashed potatoes, and carrots. Not my favorite. Overall, great service, clean environment, good food, and offered a military discount.
Tasty dishes served hot. Excellent spring rolls. Very reasonably priced and clean. Appears to be a local favorite.
Very simple and unassuming place. Food is ethnically Vietnamese/Cambodian. They do carry the other "typical" asian cuisine such as Pad Thai, General Tsos chicken, etc. I had the Pho. Pretty spot on. Price was pleasantly cheap too especially for dinner. Owner doubled as the service provider and no issues there.Would be back.
Love this place! Service is fast and the food is delicious. Prices are great for the portions sizes. Loved the crab ragoon appetizer that is actually made by hand unlike so many other asian restaurants. Our last visit we had drinks, 2 different appetizers along with 2 lunch specials and our tab was $21. Also liked that the cook will kick up the spiciness upon request!
Best Asian food in Utica, never had a bad meal. Everything is so flavorful, noodle dishes are especially good. and they have the best Wonton soup i have ever tasted. Not to mention how cheap it is. Plus free tea and fried crackers. I absolutely love this place.
Excellent Asian fusion, Thai, Vietnamese, Cambodian. One of the best Asian meals we had. Excellent service. Nice folks, family atmosphere..
The interior is very nice and clean but typical for a southeast asian bistro. The service is very good and attentive but it wasnt busy the day I went so Im not sure if they keep up when its packed. Now the food: EXCELLENT! Better than I expected and full of flavor... and the portions - generous! If youre in the mood for asian food I dont think you can go wrong. Better than many Boston and NYC southeast asian places Ive been to.
