Sumos Noodle & Sushi Bar - Noodle shop in Leeton, Australia
A wee gem of bursting flavours, great value for money and good food. They do fresh sushi and a wonderful selection of Chinese dishes. Take away or sit in. The seated area is cosy seating a few tables. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The food is amazing. They offer a mid day special menu of 2 or 3 courses.
First time visiting, absolutely perfect, food was amazing , brilliant prices and staff are very polite and helpful, now my favourite place to go , will definitely be back.
Simply amazing - my favourite place to eat in Falkirk xx
Fantastic, food amazing and staff lovely..Will definitely be back!!
Great food and friendly staff.
Travel here from East Lothian quite often, probably one of my favorite restaurants ever.
Excellent food and great value.
Always a pleasant meal. Such a nice little place not many people know about.
We went for the set lunchtime menu which was delicious. We were the second table to be seated after opening and by the time our drinks had come the restaurant was packed which is a credit to how tasty the food is.A Japanese gem in the heart of falkirk
Great service. Helped me find a vegan option.Nice place. Will be back!
Excellent food as always. Great value for money
Food is very good!
Great food and the staff are very attentive.
Clean, staff very pleasant, excellent menu. Food delicious, drinks over expensive.
Absolutely love the food and the Katsu curry is one of my favourites from here
Outrageously expensive for poorly presented and tasteless food! Disappointed as this was a favourite of mine where portions were generous, food was delicious and options were brilliant! Not worth the money to sit on a bench under fluorescent lighting!
Spectacular sake, liked the taste of everything but my bowl of ramén Was too much for me to finish. The waiting staff were excellent and looked after us really well.
Food was tasty enough and waitress nice.Careful Vegans and Veggie people!!This restaurant likes to put pork paste into miso or Veggie /vegan ramen/undon.While I read that their undon / ramen comes traditionally with the pork paste ( even when its labelled as V/VG!and managed to state that I would like to get it without it, the miso ( whichI never thought will have pork paste addedcame not vegan even though it was labelled as such. Only after a couple of sips and smelling it I realized what had happened. The waitress didnt think there was pork paste added to miso, but it sure enough was as the chef confirmed. So seems like the chef just adds it at random. As our entire order was veggie/vegan I would think he would ask first before adding it.Have to say not super happy I drank broth with pork paste and will not be back. Other food was tasty enough tho.
My food was ok but the mrs was not. Always had good food there so reluctant to only give 3 stars. Will def go again and adjust, but for now only 1/2 the meal was good.
Sumo has been our regular place to eat for the past 5 years for good reason, and will be our favourite place for many years to come.
Very nice food. Lovely atmosphere and its clean.
Lovely food, staff were very attentive, nice and friendly. Everything very clean, lots of hand sanitizer and staff wiping down surfaces frequently.
I went with the family for late lunch today. Kids had chicken noodles which to my surprise i could taste Worcestershire sauce through it.Definitely no garlic was cooked through them. The ramen soups were a massive disappointment. Very bland and found myself adding more soy sauce and salt to my dish. If your looking for somewhere authentic this is not the place to go.
Wow, amazing food and efficient service. Cannot rate this place high enough! Worth a visit and the money!!
Really good food here. The ramen is fresh and really tasty. Even managed to take a full portion home!
I recently visited for date night dinner with my boyfriend. I had never had Japanese food before so was excited to try something new and was definitely impressed! The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, there were plenty of COVID safety measures in place including reduced capacity, spaced out seating between groups, checking in online, hand sanitiser availability and strict cleaning of all items used by multiple people. The menu had lots of variety so something to suit everyones tastes including noodles, rice and sushi. Once ordered, the food was made fresh but arrived quickly! We both had the stir fried noodles with vegetables and shared a portion of salt and chilli chips. The portion sizes were great and the food was very tasty! The chips were spicy without burning my taste buds which suited me perfectly!Overall a great experience and I will definitely be back again!
Giving 2 stars because the staff were nice and attentive. However, I ordered the seafood ramen with a chilli broth. Not only was it not spicy, it was very plain and tasteless (I found myself having to put in lots of soy sauce and I normally am sensitive to anything salty). The noodles did not seem like egg noodles but more felt more instant. Although the portion was large, it was very overpriced (£13.40). Not sure you’d even have to pay that in a Wagamama’s, let alone a restaurant in Falkirk.
Really nice wee lunch of sushi. Lovely staff.
We ordered ramen but that is not what they served us.If you are looking for a nice Raman this is not the place for it. The ramen was the most tasteless pork broth I have even has and the noodles were instant noodles that were not nice at all.My wife and I left the dish and went elsewhere to eat.The price would have been fine if it was an actual pork broth and was tasty but its very over priced for the poor excuse of a range they served. The starters were nice, whole prawns in the shell were tasty and the pork served inside the ramen was very nice, (well some partsthere were a few very dry pork boys but the pieces that were fresher were very tasty. There is disabled access into the restaurant and the toilet is on the ground floor. There is on street parking but it has restrictions however there is a car park right across the road.In conclusion they have nice starters and perhaps other Nivea dishes but they should not be serving ramen. Just take it off the menu.
Had a nice dinner here before tier 4 lockdown. Everything was really good!Had some nice sushi and a hot spicy ramen, just as it should be
The staff was very nice and cordial, cute little Asian restaurant, but unfortunately I was disappointed by the food, there was way to much sauce in the noodles (all broken in tiny pieces, and there was mainly a lot of massive chunks of onions and bland seafood. What a shame
Prawn Tempura, 10/10! Had it a few times and never been let down but the ramen isn’t so much like ramen and the sushi really wasn’t to great! Bought the platter and just didn’t seam worth the money at all. Worth the drive to Glasgow to get some amazingly fresh and good value for money sushi
Sumo is great. We regularly go there for lunch when we want to get a good meal but not feel bloated. The food is amazing and the staff are extremely nice. Would highly recommend a visit to sumo!
The service was alright but foods were very disappointed, fried rice overcooked it smell burnt, sushi isnt fresh, ramen soup isnt good and the egg pan fried? never seen this in ramen before. Its probably ok for a normal meal, but defo not an authentic Japanese from my experience tho.
Amazing informal food with great service
For a typical Japanese restaurant it leaves much to be desired, but for fast food it is an option
Honestly pictures dont do it justice place is beautiful and great food to match would definitely recommend
Great experience, delicious food and big portions for reasonable price. Maybe first impression is not the best but when you enter to the restaurant but I will definetely come back.
It was ok, the staff are really attentive. Though having the TV right above our table was a bit off putting as everyone kept staring in our direction. In the nicest way though, considering what makes up the ramen dish its a bit over priced. I make it at home for a damn site less and though I dont know if mine is completely authentic its a heck of a lot tastier. Didnt even get a boiled egg in it and the bowl is so big its off putting. Do not ask for plain unless bland is your thing.
Enjoyed our food but the Salmon in the sushi wasnt so full flavoured. Expected top grade fish for the price. I think it might have been the cheap stuff from europe
Not been here for several years so good to see that the excellent quality food is still being served. My favourite Agadashi tofu starter is still delightful and I savoured every bite and spoonful. The chicken yakisoba was equally delicious and was soon polished off. Great service with food quickly prepared and served. I will make a point of visiting here soon.
My son coaxed me to visit and it was well worth it! The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and efficient. The toilet was very clean and easily accessible for someone using a walking stick. Thank you to all staff for a really enjoyable experience
Fantastic service, food served very fast.Price point is high so could only give 4 stats as i feel it is slightly overpriced for deep fried veg, however flavour is great, crispy tempura.Lots of options for traditional Japanese style cousine.I recommend going during lunch time as it can get very busy in the evening. Will definitely recommend and will revisit.
I ordered 3 types of sushi, all were really tasty. The service was great and the staff were friendly too. My only gripe is that the seating is not very comfortable and they only have a space heater. It was 2 degrees today and I couldnt take my coat off inside as I was still cold the whole time. Ill definitely get food from there again when its warmer or get take away when its cold.
Used to go there a lot. Spent a really decent amount of money each time. Plus wine.Went in one night to be told they were closing in 30 minutes. I said "yes thats fine" and was again told, very forthrightly that they were closing soon. I asked if they wanted to feed us in exchange for money and was met with the very in my face " we close in 30 minutes".It was clear that they did not want to feed us. I asked if they would throw us out after 30 minutes and the reply was the same. We were made to feel most unwelcome. We work in the industry and the worst thing we come across is bad manners. The food is very, very good here, just dont go when the staff want an early night.Weve not been back in about 7years. Nor will we ever go back to a place that treats people with such contempt.
Food was delicious and customer service was great too :we will definitly be back
We love the Chicken Katsu Curry here. The best fried egg rice Ive ever had!
My favourite place to eat in Falkirk. Food is always nice and we come back often. Sushi is made in front of your eyes so you can be sure it is really fresh. Love beef yakisoba.
Spot on. The family running it seems really nice. Staff kind and all the food was lovely. Great fried noodles and ramen. Get there now.
The food is quick, clean and very delicious. Portion sizes are good with the prices being very reasonable, especially during lunch (12:00 - 3:00as youll get 3 courses for £10.The waiting staff are very polite and helpful and give a great atmosphere to the place. Would highly recommend to anyone, but would advise making a reservation if youre going with a group.
