Food was horrible, nothing like the pictures

Ms Hattie was so very gracious. The women working with her were so kind and helpful. Now the food was awesome, we will come again if we are that way. You will enjoy.

I GREW UP WITH ONE OF THE OWNERS & KNOW THE OTHER ONE PERSONALLY. LOCATED IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. ALSO OFFERS PICK UP FROM THE DRIVETHROUGH. EASY ACCESS IN TO & OUT OF THE PARKING LOT. FOOD IS ALWAYS DELICIOUS & READY TO EAT. VERY WELL PRICED. GREAT PORTION SIZES. I RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS & FAMILY.

This place has the best food, reminiscent of my grandmothers from-scratch homemade dishes. They serve a choice of meat or fish entrees with a variety of veggies on the side, topped off by a cornbread muffin or roll. Its all yummy.The outside doesnt look too great, but dont let that influence your decision. Go in! You wont be disappointed.

Not the best looking place from the outside but the food was very good and the staff was phenomenal. Pork chops and sides were very good. Great job!

Awesome soul food. This was such a treat because its not something I can find in Colorado where I live. The prices were great too -- a main, two sides, two pieces of cornbread and a glass of Kool-aid for $11.50 after tax. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The only downside I see is that Ill be craving this food for a long time and wont have access to it!

Best Soul Food around. I go at least once a week. Lunch specials are a flat $10.00 (One meat, two sides, and bread). Pork Chops here are the best.

You must try the delicious catfish. If you want fresh vegetables this is yhe place to go. The broccoli &rice casserole was full of chesse simply amazing.

Wish there were more stars. Sum is worth driving up from Dallas for the best home cooked meal. Place doesnt have a lot of looks on the outside but you walk through the door and see nothing but smiles and welcomes. Think about Sunday lunch at your favorite families house. This is as good or better. Small portions put out to choose from so nothing gets old. A load of chicken and pork chops just came out and both were perfect. Add some rice w/gravy and green beans and you are DONE. Place is as sparking as the serving staff. All this for $10...like I say, worth a trip from Dallas. Do yourself a favor and eat here if you are in or near Tyler. The best home cooking in Dallas does not compare to SUM. Cant wait to go back.We got to go and went a few blocks down to the Rose Garden to eat.

Oh my God! The food at eat Sum to eat was so delicious that, I had to take a nap. I had the fried fish, turnip greens, pinto beans cornbread and big red soda. Go by and I promise you wont be disappointed 😋

Lovely friendly little place to grab quick lunch. They have cafeteria style options ready to serve and the portions are quite generous! I tried the fried fish today but I cant wait to come back for pork chops!

An authentic family business with the most scrumptious soul food and friendliest staff in Tyler. Anything they serve is delicious! Go get a plate of fish and some cornbread and I promise youll leave happy.

The best fried pork chops this side of my moms kitchen. Please dont tell her. They were seasoned to perfect from the coating to the meat. I will be back!! Certified 5 pot bellies by the Da Foodies!

It was my first time there... My bro and stepmom said it was good food... Had the ribs... Kind of dry... The corn bread muffin was good... The butter beans and green beans were good too... I was hoping for the country fried steak or chicken... Maybe Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes...Will go back again... The ladies that worked there were really friendly and nice....

Excellent, Southern soul food...best pork chps and collard greens. Very clean, good and friendly service, fair prices. They are now open until 2:30.

An excellent little Mom&Pop operation that usually offers 2 or 3 meat and 3 or 4 vegetable options similar to a micro cafeteria. The place is squeaky clean and well worth a visit for modestly priced soul food. Nice people here.

My first time eating there. OMG, the food was so good. I had gotten the fish plate with 2 sides. My vegetable was turnip greens. Those greens seasoned just right. If want a home cook meal, this is the place to go.

I went with a friend I work with. He said it was great. Straight up. A small buffet that was filled with tasty goodness. I had the meatloaf, boiled okra, and greens. Everything was well prepared.The floors were spotless and waxed. Ill be back. Gotta take some photos, right?😎

After moving from down south I have been looking for a good little soul food joint. I have only been once but was impressed by the quality of the food. I will be back to try out more great food. P.S. the Chicken Fried Steak is fork tender

Well just on the fact that you can go for lunch and get a quick meal that tastes good is a huge plus. It is hard to find places that have good food fast for my 45 minute lunch break.The Salisbury steak was pretty good you could tell that they made it and didnt come out of a bag. The greens were good which is what I was really wanting. But my favorite part was that the people were very courteous and very proud of what they had to offer. I would go back for the food but the nice happy people make it that much more pleasurable.
