Persiaran Bandaraya, Seksyen 14, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, Klang
Modern museum complex featuring galleries devoted to local history, culture & Islamic heritage.
Best
Unfortunately, the museum is temporarily closed until 31st December 2022 due to upgrading.
The outside display was interesting. The old train, the old cars and some tattered dinosaurs models seem to be able to attract kids to like museum in the first place. The parking lot was quite ample for the visitors
Spooky 👻
Under renovation until March 2022 as the guard said
Call just now. Operator inform now under renovation. Still tidak pasti when can open.
Don’t get confused by those below good reviews. Museum is still under renovation and close until 12 December 2020
Mind blown. It treasures the historical items. And you can even notice mannequins that depicts customs and traditions
Very well maintained. Depict the history. Staffs are good. Clean
This place is one of our heritage. Must loved it
Went here because of an event, so not sure about the Museum itself. For the event side, spacious auditorium with nearby toilets and surau
Still in renovation but looking goodddd
Good experience...and u can learn history of Selangor Darul Ehsan..
On web site stated open, but when we went there the staff said only the office open.. We are searching if we can visit the museum not visit the office.. Please update ur website.. Wasting our time, the kids so frustating cannot enter the museum
Haiya.... the last time I visited here was when I was a teenage decades back then. It was an unforgettable experience. Today, I’m bringing my son with. But sadly, the museum was closed due to renovations and upgrading process. The staffs guarding there said it may take another year or as early as May 2020 to be fully operational again. I will check again and make a call before I do my visit next year. Cheers...
Very interesting and informative place to visit, especially to bring kids, cool n beautiful museum. Very recommended if u visit Shah Alam.
Located at the centre of Shah Alam. This museum is just walking distance from Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque however kindly be noted that the museum is closed until 31/5/2020 for construction works.
Nothing much to see considered small museum but its great for childrens knowledge exposure
The museum is quite large than what I had expected for being a state museum. Everything inside is quite good. They should have put more detail history of Selangor for "anak jati" to remember their heritage.
Very recommended..Please be ready wearing comfortable shoes because it would take a long time to view each artifact (if you are interested in history)..
Awesome! Many things Ive learned today. Full of information and I want to visit again with my students some time later. Its free and youll need to take your breakfast before entering the museum because youll be spending a lot of your time taking pictures while digesting the information and the history of Selangor. Well done!
Proud to be Selangorian..
Ok, the museum is very good. The thing is that the museum is abit scary with less lighting. I went with my 3yo son and my husband, just the 3 of us inside and one of the staff keep watching from afar, we came on saturday before 12pm. At the 3rd floor (the entrace), my son was fine. However, at the 2nd floor I saw my son felt uncomfortable and looked afraid. At the 1st floor, almost before the exit, suddenly my son started to cry so hard and he was so annoyed and angry. My husband and I also had a goosebump at that time. Just for a suggestion, please improve the lighting. So the kids and other visitors will feel more comfortable with the environment inside the museum as it is full with old stuffs and history. Thank you.
Lots of improvement. Always something to look forward and a gentle reminder of how kind and precious our ancestors were.
This museum has it all an old train, army jeep old plane and many history stuff u can see there beside the museum theres library, open field great place for picnic and with your love ones
Historical museumNice place but need some changing.overall its a good place to come and its free admittance
Useful information about selangor history!
Its what Im looking for about Shah Alam. I love the antiques, the ancient I think too. Its good to spend like 1 hour here. The readings should be satisfactory.
Why I love this museum.1. Free entrance. Yes! Entrance is free!2. Ample of parking space.3. The place is huge and not crowded. Its like only us were there during our visit. Please go on week days.4. Items displayed are well maintained.5. You will learn and understand more about the history of selangor and their culture. I love the textiles part very much.6. Bring along your kids. They will. Enjoy it. Among interesting items displayed are huge fish and crocodile bones.
Historic place to begin with. Great input and amazing story telling.
Free entrance ❤️
This museum is very good to look back on Selangor’s history. It works exactly like a time machine.
A good place to visit in Shah Alam which increase your knowledge about the history of Selangor especially the sultanate genealogy. But, the museum authority should update the exhibit materials because it looks dull at certain places and need some improvement.
Very informative knowledge to gain.
Nice place..my kids love it..ample parking space..good exhibit
It could be better..the temporary exhibition about old bottles (especially made from glassesthat was held when I was visiting last week was quite interesting. The other part of the museums was only average. Hopefully it can be improved in future.
free entrace..vast parking space..clean environment
The museum is curated nicely with a lot of information. The downside is the some of the signage is confusing and they blocked the exit to make patrons use different exit without taking off the exit signage and this wasting patrons time having to turn around.
Bring your kids here and they will love it. Many things you can know from here
Very beautiful and large museum that not only exhibits the old and modern history of Selangor but whole Malaysia. Besides, it shows the natural and social aspects of this diversified land. Free of admissiom. Very much recommended.
Best place to learn about Selangor history from the stone age, culture, lifestyle, nature and Islamic history but the exit is too far from the parking area and they dont have souvenier shop.
You can learn so much things that has happen in Selangor, in history of the existence of Selangor generally.
Fabulous museum. We loved the collection of old bottles from yesteryear.
A beautiful building.Well designed. In prime location and easily located Ample parking. Also used for covention with Auditorium. Also has a Restaurant.Banquet halls.Uniformed staff.
Its a museum, good place if u want to be alone and study abt history.
I attended a wedding here so didnt see the full range of facilities and areas to explore. However, the premises are well laid out, parking was easy and the wedding reception hall sizeable. Staff were hospitable. Im sure I could have given the place a five star rating of I had had the opportunity to fully explore the museum itself.
We are having an event with Y.A.B Dato Seri Mohamed Azmin bin Ali here. Very good place but very poor internet coverage
You can see many things as cultural object of Malaysia.
miniature of buildings in selangor is displayed in this museum
Great place to visit with lots of info for the school childrens.
