Sule Pagoda in Kyaikto
Description
The So-Called Sule Is In The¹1¹!Its Situated On The South-western Part Of Yangon City Hall. MonumentMyanmar sIndeperr
MoreSule Pagoda is main landmark in downtown. It it important landmark in Yangon.Because This is where zero miles begins, the standard for miles used to describe Yangons location.
MoreA good and calm place in the downtown of Yangon which is next to a Christian church and muslim mosque. Best time to visit in evening by viewing sunset of Yangon.
MoreTravelling around myanmar is one of the best feeling ever.I recommend you to explore the land and its beauties so magnificent
MoreIts heritage of Yangon. Locate in centre od downtown Yangon.
beautiful pagoda , i am not sure but i think its the largest one in Yangon city. The golden spires are a real sight to see at night and during the day. A peaceful place to take a moment to reflect in the middle of the city.
MoreThe Sule Pagoda. It is in the heart of Yangon. In the middle of the junction of Sule Pagoda Road and Maharbandula Road. It was built at the same time of The Shwedagon Pagoda. It is one of the most significant pagoda in Yangon and you can find the direction of othre places easily from the point of Sule pagoda. Myanmar people call it Cut Kyaw Phayar means that the pagoda which was passed by the people travelling downtown.
MoreRight in the middle of an intersection. You have to pay an entrance fee if you want to enter. Beware of a random person who talks to you and suggests places to visit (might be a scam).
MoreRight in the centre of the busiest intersection in Myanmar, this pagoda is elegant! An interesting dynamic to watch pedestrians scuttle out of the way of cars only to be immersed in a tranquil space with monks in meditation only a few metres away.
MoreIts a nice pagoda and if you go to it as a first one you will like it, but it is just nothing in comparison to Swedangon pagoda. Also be aware there are fake guides there who will try to rip you off and they are not official guides. No problem if you let them show you around, but be sure to have agreement on payment before starting.
MoreA beautiful reasonably large pagoda, but its real claim to fame is that it happens to be situated right in the middle of a huge bustling intersection in the heart of the city. The juxtaposition of the craziness of the streets of Yangon and the peaceful tranquility of the pagoda is really quite something to behold. The entrance fee was 5000 Kyats for foreigners which, to be honest, is probably a little steep, but its not every day you get a chance to check out a pagoda like this one, so in my opinion it is still worth it, but you only really need to come once, and it doesnt take that long to explore the vast majority of the area. People will come up to you offering tours, but I was perfectly content just wandering around on my own. No shoes or socks allowed, and its advisable to come equipped with pants that cover your knees. You can leave your bags and shoes at the entrances, they have lockers/cubbies for visitors.
MoreThe crown of Yangon, this centre keeps the city together 24 hours a day! With different shades at dawn & dusk, the best view is around midnight, amidst zero traffic crowds, and just this pagoda all lightened and golden. It’s a small pagoda, but can’t be missed because all Yangon life is just around here..There’s an entrance fee, shoes can be carried in hands, it’s worth a 15 min tour
MoreThis Burmese stupa is located in the heart of downtown Yangon.Early morning is a good time to visit.Keep in mind that this is a religious place, and not a tourist attraction.
MoreVery nice pagoda. Turisty though, got a nice tour and learned about buddhism from a monk, whereafter was asked for a donation, and they did not think mine was high enough.
MorePagoda is nice to see, but even nicer is to walk around this mixed colonial British / Burmese area, with markets and parks
MoreIt is good and the whole area is so nicely desinged ! There is a nearby park, public toilets ! Highcourt of myanmar and many more !! This pagoda at center is main attration !
MoreGood , nice but compared to Schwedagon Pagoda its small. Foreigners ticket cost 5000 MMK
MoreSule Pagoda is conveniently situated in the downtown of Yangon and easy to reach. The entrance ticket is 5k. You have to be modestly dressed and take your shoes off.Pagoda is a pretty large complex with several entrances. Its dedicated mainly to the Lord Gotama the Buddha, but not only.Improvements needed: better cleanliness, especially windows. Thank you
MoreGood experience. The pagoda is located at the centre of township. 5000mmk entrance fee, 1000mmk for flowers.
MoreA city centered pagoda that is not so touristy. You can enter from Magga Bridge and go to City Hall pretty easily from the east gate.
MoreOk to visit. Yet quite smaller than some others. Tourist be carefully of con artists, fake help for kids and so on. We
MoreBurmese stupa and one of the famous pagoda in Yangon.Sule pagoda constructed at the center of the circle road.Very close to the Yangon City Hall. I wanna suggest to the pagodas management teams to control the loudspeaker voices 🔉🔉🔉(very loud for visitorsand should upgrade the restrooms and other public facilities to make more comfortable to visitors(Local people and foreigners).
MoreWarning!! This place have tricky guys asking your money. Very nice pagoda not far from city hall and china town, Ive been there during the night, had to pay entrance 4000 kyatt or 3 dollars, flowers 2000 kyatt and there are the guys trying to talk and coming to be our guide without even asking, he bring me around to make activities for the pagoda and bring to the room that have the guy to explain too, after finish everything, they just asked for the money for 10000 so I have to give 10000 kyatt for the guy in the room and 3000 for the guy who bring me there, I am not sure for what they are doing there, I just wanted to warn everyone who want to go there, please be careful, dont let them lead your way and dont talk with them. Just go and explore on your own!
MoreEasily accessible from the center of Downtown Yangon. It costs 4,000 Kyats per person and youll need to remove your shoes and socks. Beware of guides who will follow you around and expect a sum at the end of your tour - it is not necessary to have a guide if you just want to walk around.Different birth days Buddhas are on display -you have to see which day in your birth year were you borne in and you can perform some simple cleansing rites based on the guided numbers listed on the statues. Interesting but I personally feel that if you see one temple, you see all. :)
MoreSuperb landmark with wonderful & unique temple. No pants, shoes & socks are allowed.
MoreLove it so much. It is near scott market and roof topbar too. I recommend you should go and you can walk to China towm if u want
MoreBeautiful! Simply amazing, watch out for the traffic though, they dont stop for pedestrians to cross at the roundabout
MoreThis golden images of Buddha sule Pagoda was second Pagoda praying in the Yangon, this place is central of the city of Yangon. Beside east of sule was a City Hall and Garden of BOCHOK Sung San.
MoreIn addition to the pagoda, there’s a cool tree, a Buddha foot print and a bell you can ring for good luck. Upon arrival a guy came up to us and offered a tour, since he spoke good English, and after giving us a sample of the tour, we agreed to pay him 5k kyat for the tour (you could definitely get away with paying less). I’m happy we did the tour, he showed us a lot of details and explanations that we wouldn’t have otherwise noticed.
MoreThis place is completely incredible. Cant say enough, its huge and fascinating over and over again. Indescribable
MoreThe temple has an admission fee of 4000kyats, and the florists at the entrance are NOT the ticket seller, lets just put it that way. Just ignore them and move up, i wish i did. Other than that, its a nice, central location, very easy access
MoreNeat temple in the center of a busy traffic circle in the heart of downtown Yangon. Entrance fee is around 4000 kyat (which really isnt muchbut it is definitely worth the price of admission. A wonderful and relaxing break from the frenetic cacophony of downtown Yangon
MoreAmazing place. But I dont like the only foreigners are imposed an entrance fee.
One of the oldest pagoda in Yangon. Situated in the heart of downtown Yangon. At the time of my visit, entrance was 4000ks with an additional 1000ks for storing your footwear. You need to move around barefooted.
MoreMy dream come true.. At last I went to this place which I hear stories about this place, where my mother, grandmother and grand grandmother used to go... Great achievement of my life...
MoreThis is a really impressive landmark in the city, especially in the evening lit up with the passing traffic. The detail up close is brilliant to admire but there’s also a fantastic viewpoint from the footway bridge up the road to the North. From here you can really see it stand out in the neighbourhood. Naturally there’s a lot of history to the pagoda as well as some interesting legendary tales, so it’s well worth entering and reading up about. Certainly one of my favourite spots in the city.
MoreThe ancient Pagoda in Yangon,4000 MMK for a ticket (foreign tourists)If you are from the other side of Thanlyin, you can go here by bus No 4. Have fun and good luck to the one who find it helpful.
MoreBeautiful. But dont buy any bird in the area to free them. It was nearly dead, even you free them it dont have any stamina to fly.Dont buy to lower the demand and they will be free because it will not cause any more profit.
MoreLocated in the Center of downtown, this beautiful Pagoda is one of the must-go places in Yangon. Surrounded with the busy streets and shops but you will find it very peaceful and pleasant inside. It’s open from the early morning and closes around 10 or 11 pm. You can listen the chantings and spend your time meditating there. The entry is free for the locals and 4000 kyats for the foreigners. You can give your shoes for another 1000 kyats or just carry a plastic bag and take it with you. And beware of “helpers” who will happily guide you, but demand a good amount of money in the end of the story.
MoreMuch smaller than Shwedagon with similar layout but far fewer buildings. Also the eight-day prayer stations. 4000kyat entry for foreigners. If you wish to visit this pagoda, do it before " Big Brother" else it may be disappointing.
MoreThis massive pagoda is really beautiful and so close to the market! Worth the visit plus there are helpful staff around for yhe curious non Burmese guests!
MoreOne of the oldest pagodas in Yangon. It is located in downtown and acts as the main square for the financial hub of the city. It is also next to a major bus station where many bus routes terminate / originate including the Airport shuttle.
MoreSule pagoda. One of the famous pagoda in myanmar..The Sule Pagoda (Burmese: ဆူးလေဘုရား; pronounced [sʰúlè pʰəjá]is a Burmese stupa located in the heart of downtown Yangon, occupying the centre of the city and an important space in contemporary Burmese politics, ideology and geography. According to legend, it was built before the Shwedagon Pagoda during the time of the Buddha, making it more than 2,600 years old. Burmese legend states that the site for the Shwedagon Pagoda was asked to be revealed from an old nat who resided at the place where the Sule Pagoda now stands. The Sule Pagoda has been the focal point of both Yangon and Burmese politics. It has served as a rallying point in both the 1988 uprisings and 2007 Saffron Revolution.
MoreDominates the centre of Yangon especially at night. Actually better to view from afar as opposed to up close. If you do enter and pay as a foreigner just be mindful of the closing times, the girl on reception was more than happy to let me pay and enter without telling me it was due to close in another 10 minutes.
MoreExcellent temple with astonishing view. It is free entry for the locals but foreigner has to pay 3,000 kyat. Please take note have to take out your shoes and socks to enter the temple. I experienced a bad experience with their local staff shouting for it. Its not pleased to witness that.
MoreSule Pagoda. This is just down the road from where I stayed, the Shangri-la. Its a great introduction to pagodas before you step into the large ones like Shwedagon. Observe the customs, take off your slippers or shoes before you enter. If you wear socks, its going to get quite dirty. I recommend bringing wet tissue along to wipe your bare feet before putting your footwear on again. Being a tourist, youre required to pay for an entrance fee. Just pay, and dont fuss over the cost.
MoreBe careful of those who teach you to worship, nothing free. MKK3000 entrance fee, 1000 more if you left your shoe at counter
MoreDefinitely worth a visit for its grandeur and location in the heart of downtown Yangon. There is an admission fee of 4,000 kyats (3 USDduring my visit. As in all pagodas in the city, visitors are asked to dress modestly and remove their footwear before entering. Bring a bag for your footwear instead of depositing them at one of the four entrances so you can exit anytime without going back to your starting point.
MoreEntry is 3000 kyat, you can borrow appropriate clothing of you dont have one. The place is not that big but still worth to see of you are in the area.
MoreFirst attraction I arrived upon reaching Yangon. Small temple in my opinion but I guess these are the common attractions tourist will visit.
