beautiful pagoda , i am not sure but i think its the largest one in Yangon city. The golden spires are a real sight to see at night and during the day. A peaceful place to take a moment to reflect in the middle of the city.

The Sule Pagoda. It is in the heart of Yangon. In the middle of the junction of Sule Pagoda Road and Maharbandula Road. It was built at the same time of The Shwedagon Pagoda. It is one of the most significant pagoda in Yangon and you can find the direction of othre places easily from the point of Sule pagoda. Myanmar people call it Cut Kyaw Phayar means that the pagoda which was passed by the people travelling downtown.

Right in the middle of an intersection. You have to pay an entrance fee if you want to enter. Beware of a random person who talks to you and suggests places to visit (might be a scam).

Right in the centre of the busiest intersection in Myanmar, this pagoda is elegant! An interesting dynamic to watch pedestrians scuttle out of the way of cars only to be immersed in a tranquil space with monks in meditation only a few metres away.

Its a nice pagoda and if you go to it as a first one you will like it, but it is just nothing in comparison to Swedangon pagoda. Also be aware there are fake guides there who will try to rip you off and they are not official guides. No problem if you let them show you around, but be sure to have agreement on payment before starting.

A beautiful reasonably large pagoda, but its real claim to fame is that it happens to be situated right in the middle of a huge bustling intersection in the heart of the city. The juxtaposition of the craziness of the streets of Yangon and the peaceful tranquility of the pagoda is really quite something to behold. The entrance fee was 5000 Kyats for foreigners which, to be honest, is probably a little steep, but its not every day you get a chance to check out a pagoda like this one, so in my opinion it is still worth it, but you only really need to come once, and it doesnt take that long to explore the vast majority of the area. People will come up to you offering tours, but I was perfectly content just wandering around on my own. No shoes or socks allowed, and its advisable to come equipped with pants that cover your knees. You can leave your bags and shoes at the entrances, they have lockers/cubbies for visitors.

The crown of Yangon, this centre keeps the city together 24 hours a day! With different shades at dawn & dusk, the best view is around midnight, amidst zero traffic crowds, and just this pagoda all lightened and golden. It’s a small pagoda, but can’t be missed because all Yangon life is just around here..There’s an entrance fee, shoes can be carried in hands, it’s worth a 15 min tour

Sule Pagoda is conveniently situated in the downtown of Yangon and easy to reach. The entrance ticket is 5k. You have to be modestly dressed and take your shoes off.Pagoda is a pretty large complex with several entrances. Its dedicated mainly to the Lord Gotama the Buddha, but not only.Improvements needed: better cleanliness, especially windows. Thank you

Easily accessible from the center of Downtown Yangon. It costs 4,000 Kyats per person and youll need to remove your shoes and socks. Beware of guides who will follow you around and expect a sum at the end of your tour - it is not necessary to have a guide if you just want to walk around.Different birth days Buddhas are on display -you have to see which day in your birth year were you borne in and you can perform some simple cleansing rites based on the guided numbers listed on the statues. Interesting but I personally feel that if you see one temple, you see all. :)

In addition to the pagoda, there’s a cool tree, a Buddha foot print and a bell you can ring for good luck. Upon arrival a guy came up to us and offered a tour, since he spoke good English, and after giving us a sample of the tour, we agreed to pay him 5k kyat for the tour (you could definitely get away with paying less). I’m happy we did the tour, he showed us a lot of details and explanations that we wouldn’t have otherwise noticed.

This is a really impressive landmark in the city, especially in the evening lit up with the passing traffic. The detail up close is brilliant to admire but there’s also a fantastic viewpoint from the footway bridge up the road to the North. From here you can really see it stand out in the neighbourhood. Naturally there’s a lot of history to the pagoda as well as some interesting legendary tales, so it’s well worth entering and reading up about. Certainly one of my favourite spots in the city.

Located in the Center of downtown, this beautiful Pagoda is one of the must-go places in Yangon. Surrounded with the busy streets and shops but you will find it very peaceful and pleasant inside. It’s open from the early morning and closes around 10 or 11 pm. You can listen the chantings and spend your time meditating there. The entry is free for the locals and 4000 kyats for the foreigners. You can give your shoes for another 1000 kyats or just carry a plastic bag and take it with you. And beware of “helpers” who will happily guide you, but demand a good amount of money in the end of the story.

Much smaller than Shwedagon with similar layout but far fewer buildings. Also the eight-day prayer stations. 4000kyat entry for foreigners. If you wish to visit this pagoda, do it before " Big Brother" else it may be disappointing.

Sule pagoda. One of the famous pagoda in myanmar..The Sule Pagoda (Burmese: ဆူးလေဘုရား; pronounced [sʰúlè pʰəjá]is a Burmese stupa located in the heart of downtown Yangon, occupying the centre of the city and an important space in contemporary Burmese politics, ideology and geography. According to legend, it was built before the Shwedagon Pagoda during the time of the Buddha, making it more than 2,600 years old. Burmese legend states that the site for the Shwedagon Pagoda was asked to be revealed from an old nat who resided at the place where the Sule Pagoda now stands. The Sule Pagoda has been the focal point of both Yangon and Burmese politics. It has served as a rallying point in both the 1988 uprisings and 2007 Saffron Revolution.

Dominates the centre of Yangon especially at night. Actually better to view from afar as opposed to up close. If you do enter and pay as a foreigner just be mindful of the closing times, the girl on reception was more than happy to let me pay and enter without telling me it was due to close in another 10 minutes.

Sule Pagoda. This is just down the road from where I stayed, the Shangri-la. Its a great introduction to pagodas before you step into the large ones like Shwedagon. Observe the customs, take off your slippers or shoes before you enter. If you wear socks, its going to get quite dirty. I recommend bringing wet tissue along to wipe your bare feet before putting your footwear on again. Being a tourist, youre required to pay for an entrance fee. Just pay, and dont fuss over the cost.

Definitely worth a visit for its grandeur and location in the heart of downtown Yangon. There is an admission fee of 4,000 kyats (3 USDduring my visit. As in all pagodas in the city, visitors are asked to dress modestly and remove their footwear before entering. Bring a bag for your footwear instead of depositing them at one of the four entrances so you can exit anytime without going back to your starting point.
