The sukna forest museum is situated just besides the hill cart road. Best time to visit here is during winter mornings. There is ticket based entry here in the museum. Best for kids, parents can bring kids here to know about the mahananda wild life sanctuary. This is near siliguri, hardly 10 kms from darjeeling mor. There is safari option available, many wild animals are visible during this trip.

This museum is just the place for people who are interested in botany and tree products... The main museum building is an awe-inspiring wooden building, filled up with all the types of plant products, from cane furniture to wooden sculptures... The adjoining nursery consists of a small wooden bridge over a small jhora... Well maintained... A calm and serene place just adjacent to the deep forests of the Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary...

Sukna forest region is a prominent place in North Bengal but the museum is very old. It has its all legacy but it is under rated and poorly maintained. No permanent curator available so you may get confused. If you have a plan to visit the jungle side please take jeep unless you will not be permitted into the jungle for safety reasons. Take proper thermals and cloths. In museum camera is prohibited. Else very nice place to explore.

The entrance to mahananda wildlife sanctuary is via this place. Bring your own cab because mostly there wont be any cabs available here. In 600 you can manage everything excluding vehicles
