A big square at the centre of the Ulaanbaatar, a capital city of Mongolia. Various events are organized at this square.

Nice place to visit in capital of mongolia its Ulaanbaatar. Very busy place traffic is biggest problem in the city Ulaanbaatar. Its hard to drive a car . Night is very beautiful because of people walking on footpaths everywhere lights and skyscrapers which make the city beautiful in night

Monumental square. Definitely worth seeing and feels like it’s the center of the city. It could use a bit of programming to liven it up but the park and trees off to the side are a great addition. Also, there’s a big billboard that plays advertisements with loud audio that takes away from the experience.

It’s an open space in the heart of UB to hang out with friends. Since many people come together here especially in evening, it’s a good place for tourists to see more about local people.There is a statue of a soldier riding a galloping horse who actually liberated Mongolia from China’s rule sometimes in 1920s.There is a giant statue of Genghis Khan in sitting position with his trusted generals. It’s the parliament house of the government of Mongolia.I was also told by my guide that most of the national events like concerts and sports meet are also held here.It’s basically an open space to come together with friends. Don’t go there expecting so much. There is nothing much to do.

Good place for feeling the heart of ulaanbaatar

The grass seems nice no bugs and bad dirt around. It was indeed a nice idea. Fountain is great place to spend an evening too

Not really worth it

Its the center point of the city with a big address for kids and people to ride bikes, walk around and enjoy the scenery. Theres stores and restaurants all in walking distance and Is a must visit if you are in town

In its best shape in summer evenings. The best place for families to play with their children and couples for date.

One of the most iconic places in UB,and always some events are happening there

Nice place to walk around in the evening. The temperatures are beginning to warm up nicely. Theres always something to see here, whether its kids playing hot potato with a volleyball, wrestling, or cheering on an impromptu basketball match. We would wander around here, before grabbing a bite to eat on the terrace of the Revobar.

There is rich history here, its important to have a local describe the significance of the statues, the surrounding old Russian architectural buildings.Its a decent place to visit. If youre in Ulanbataar, then youre obviously coming here but dont expect to be blown away.

A place is in middle of the city that allows citizens to have fun time, to stand for freedom, to have beautiful selfies, and to produce national products by expo events.

Sukhbaatar Square,The square was named after Damdin Sukhbaatar by a resolution of the Peoples Great Hural in 1946.On July 15, 2013, at a meeting of the Presidium of the Citizens Representative Khural, it was decided to name the square after Ezen Bogd Chinggis Khaan(Gengis Khan/Great Lord King).The fame of the great emperor is immeasurable, but the merits of this great man who led the struggle for modern independence and the revolution cannot be denied. Therefore, by the decision of the court of first instance in August 2016, the 2013 decree was annulled and the name of Sukhbaatar Square was restored.

Been there so many time during 2010 until 2011...it is long time ago. I stayed in Ulaan Baatar hotel everytime visit capital City. And from the hotel to this place is just around 200 meter. It is a nice place and always many People there.

The most famous tourists attraction of the capital city of Mongolia. It’s square which located front of the government house, also where held all the important county ceremonies.

This place is huge and the majestic ChingisKhan sits here !Its where is the parliment house also.Open exhibitions happen here and is a beautiful in the evenings when the kinds come to play. You will have these for rental battery powered kids car to give them a ride, skating, cycling, etc.All th emarried couples also come here to take wedding pictures infront of the parliment house and chingiskhan statue.a public toilet nearby would be a good idea.

Sukhbaatar Square wasnt that crowded, so you wont feel overwhelmed by people. You can see the Mongolian culture in the statues and architecture. You can also see the Soviet Union influences in the architecture. The National Museum of Mongolia is just around the corner, as well as the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery. There is a shopping center where you can buy various Mongolian products, such as cashmere clothing. Also, the Mongolian Wrestling Palace and sports stadium arent very far. You can easily walk to the wrestling Palace and take a taxi to the stadium.

Really big square with plenty to take in. Love the wedding photography sessions and all those in traditional costumes.

In the centre of town. Across from Blue Sky Hotel (curved blue building)... Is just a public open space...concerts in summer (Nadaam festivaland they put in an ice rink during winter. Building behind me is the history museum.

Night view is not bad. And quite new crowd. Not too quiet or nosiy

Coming to Sukhbaarar Square during National Naadam is a great wat to see and learn about Mongolian culture. We were here for Deeltei celebration the day before the beginning of Naadam and saw some amazing costumes.

Its a great place to walk around and a lots of locals gather here. Many people use this place as meeting point.

Weekend morning stroll. I Love Sukhbaatar square as I enjoy looking at all the visitors getting their photo taken in Sukhbaatar square and as the Government Palace is a popular spot for photography weddings and official ceremonies with Mongolian traditional outfits are common so I love.seeing that even as a local.

A huge and great squre in UB. Many government buildings are there. Difficult in car parking. Many young people and tourists.

If you’re in Ulaanbaatar you’ll definitely want to stop by, but there is a limited amount of things to do here. Admittedly I have only been here in the winter season and so this changes the general atmosphere quite significantly, but if still seems to have a limited number of features.The palace is especially beautiful when illuminated in the evening.

Not really a park. In a Park you would expect some kind of trees or at least bushes or grass.Not here. Just a big place, all made of concrete. A statue in the middle, buildings around. Quite loud, because it’s surrounded by roads with never ending traffic jams.

Never had a chance to walk around this Square in Ulaanbataar in past two trips in April and May. Had a good walkto look around this afternoon.

The is the place you cannot miss if you are in Ulaanbataar. Every tourist come here for the view and getting photos. Beware of the guys who take take pic and print negotiate in advance.they said 6k to me but later charged 10k local money. This place is great views.

Probably a must go to landmark in UBSukhbaatar Square as its locally called is huge, with the Genghis Khan on horse statue in the middle, and Genghis Khan seated status in front of the government house with his generals, and the other Khans after. There is also a marking on the floor stating this is the centre of UB. Genghis Khan seated statue infront of government building, you cant get in with out entrance ticket.There are peaceful protests going on, and also festivals and graduation photos, people dressed in traditional dress will come here on days of celebrations.

Sükhbaatar Square (Mongolian: Сүхбаатарын талбай, pronounced Sükhbaatariin Talbai), previously known as Chinggis Square (Mongolian: Чингисийн талбай, pronounced Chinggisiin Talbai), is the central square of Mongolias capital Ulaanbaatar. The official name was changed in 2013 in honor of Genghis Khan, considered the founding father of Mongolia, and then changed back in 2016. A large colonnade monument to Genghis Khan, as well as to Ögedei Khan, and Kublai Khan dominates the squares north side directly in front of the Saaral Ordon (Government Palace). The center of the square features an equestrian statue of Damdin Sükhbaatar, one of the leaders of Mongolias 1921 revolution.

Huge open square. Typical style of communism of the past. Great history behind the square itself. Definitely worth checking out.
