Opened in 1995, this 4-story museum features exhibits on the history, culture & production of paper.
Overall its a place very suitable for families and kids to learn the basic knowledge of papermaking. Totally 4 floors in the building of paper museum. Only the 2nd and 4th floors are allowed to take photos. Therere tables for visitors to write calligraphy personally in the 2th floor. The 3th floor displays the history and characteristics of paper. The 4th floor is a outdoor teaching place for paper-making. First floor is shopping store and ancient papermaking machines display.
For $180, you can view the museum and participate in a paper making workshop, where you get to make a sheet of paper...Both workshop and displays are highly informative and interesting. Good for adults and children. Gift shop has a nice assortment of notebooks and kits to make your own paper at home. I highly recommend coming here!
Fun way to learn about paper.
come and touch
Delicious bobba-tea like drink unique to Taiwan. Made of grass jelly and tapioca
Its fun to make a piece of paper!
Where else can you make your own paper?!
Interesting place to find out more about the history of paper. Join the paper making workshop at destinated timeslots to complete the experience. Check their website for timings of the timeslots.
Friendly staff to run you through all the stations. Even a DIY paper making station.
Learn how to make paper yourself.Kids really enjoyed it.
This was a nice visit for our kids. The place is pretty small, but the making paper activity is fun. Not much else to see in the museum part, and they have a small gift shop of paper products at entrance. Price to make paper and visit was NT$600 for all four of us.
Engaging activities to make your own paper. The guide was clear and patient as she described the various types of fibres and the process of paper making from the beginning. The step-wise procedure was fun and you can try a few times until you get the hang of it. There is also another level of exhibits where it is experiential and you can compare different types of papers based on different properties. Suitable for children and adults alike.
The place delivers a total experience of paper history by introduction and hands-on workshop. And some fine products for you to take home as survivors. Theres more information upon enquiries regarding paper related products that I personally find interesting.
The museum is small, but very interesting. You can make diy paper at certain times of the day (10:00, 11:00, 14:00 and 15:00). There are a lot of hands on activities and all the explanations are bilingual. The staff is very friendly and happy to answers all the questions.
Great place to learn the basics about paper making! Loved the small hands-on workshop. Dip your own paper and take it home! The museum gives you also the opportunity to test properties of paper which is made of different fibers and has a paper A-Z collage exhibit! Cute little shop has nice gift ideas for paper lovers.
Very small museum; can finish in less than one hour. Good place to stop by on a rainy day. Make sure you try the hands on paper making experience if you decide to go there.
Great cozy place to study a history of paper making
Absolutely loved this place, well worth a visit
Everything is documented in English too. If you arent staying for the workshop you probably finish the exhibits in an hour. Easy to find.
Great place to bring kids to experience the paper making culture of Taiwan. They have a paper making workshop where guests can try paper making. There is a portion of the museum that has interactive displays which makes it fun and engaging for kids. They also have an exhibition space which gives guests something new to see every often.
Lovely memorial to a paper maker. Great interactives. Rooftop workshop. Recommended.
Nice place, the staff will demonstrate how to make paper using traditional tools
Brought the kids to Suho for their paper making workshop for an educational and enjoyable experience. The kids loved it! The whole thing lasted about an hour.
Good for artist, art-knowers
Great little gem museum about paper. You can even participate in a 20 minute paper making experience. Nice small gift shop, too. 3+ floors, no elevator.
Great paper making experience, I really enjoyed it! The museum is pretty cool as well
Learning a great deal about the origin of paper and different types of them. Very informative and educational. Highly recommended
Good place for kids to learn paper development and how to make paper in the old way
Arrive before 11 cause the paper making and other projects starts around then... If youre late you cant join... Combo price is 350 NTD for all projects and entrance... Entrance fee is 100 NTD... 4 floors high.... No elevator.... 4th floor is the roof deck where they make the paper projects...
Im a paper enthusiast, but it failed to make me enthusiastic. The place is meant as an education tour for kids.
Very informative; staff are passionate and knowledgeable about paper. DIY make your own paper.
A really beautifully conceived, designed, and executed monument to the art of papercraft. Highly recommend.
Happened to be an exhibition of folk prints. There were many groups of young school kids visiting to learn something about making paper. Seemed they enjoyed a lot the vivid talk of the guide and hands-on experience.
Such beauty and history inside. The activities are fun also, and the staff are very friendly. If you visit Taipei you have to see here!
This is a private museum, so the entrance fee is higher compared to other national museums. It looks quite interesting but we didnt go in since we had many other alternative activities to choose from during this trip, so maybe next time.
The rooftop of this museum has a special space that covered of bamboo sticks. Good for events and parties.
Walked past and found this by chanceGreat place to bring your kids and find out more about paper making. I learned a few things too as a grown-up.:)
I thought the NT300 entry fee was a little steep but the paper making workshop made it worth it. The museum layout and displays were tasteful and fun enough for kids (may be too minimalist for those under school-age). The paper forest was a great installation. I wish there were instructions on making paper at home. Overall it was a very educational and tranquil experience.
Good museum, not too expensive. But its a little small.
Brilliant installation on second floor, the paper forest, exceedingly helpful and kind staff. Didnt do a workshop but Im sure they would be great if you want to do that. Small and compact but definitely worth a visit even if youre not into paper. Also great memorial to its founder hed be well pleased.
Nice place to go. Great paper making experience
This place is pretty cool, make your own paper and watch it become a masterpiece of art. Very interactive and deserves more time than it looks.
What a delightful little museum! Excellent exhibits about the history of paper making, about the different qualities of paper with lots of tactile experiential opportunities (paper making, ink rolling, notebook making, etc.), beautiful paper art. The second floor had a cool installation contemplating the senses of paper. I really didnt think wed spend HOURS at a paper museum, and then ended up wishing we had more time!
a very creative place to know about paper making history
Wonderful little museum. We loved the paper making and book binding mini-workshops. The art installations, paper history and rooftop workshop space are terrific. Even the typesetting of the (bilingualmuseum notices was beautifully done.
Tranquil little museum in the middle of the city. Paper making workshop is great and staff are very nice and helpful. One of the few tourist attractions that supports English.
It might sound lame but its one of the best museums Ive been to. An interesting subject that I hadnt really though about, plus, you get to make and take home your own paper. I recommend to all people and they initially laugh. I would think it would also be a good place for a first date.
fun experience to make the paper. small museum but worth spending the time.
nothing to do here... not worth 100NT tix
This museum offers unexpectedly tranquil corner in the city. Given its tiny size, its amazing to see its inspiring exhibition and the interactive DIY courses open to every visitor. Truly recommend here!
